Today I went to Yishun Zizai eatery, order take away dinner for Sing Chiew Bee Hoon & Olive Fried rice. Total cost $10. The price seem a bit steep for simple meal. It will be good if the price could be lower to cater to the general public at large. Overall the food is good.

This is one of the best vegetarian restaurants you can find in Singapore! Most of their foods are really nice! I love their plain roti prata & fish curry! Never get bored with their foods!

They are very busy in the weekend and during chu 1 & 15 of Lunar Calendar. The best time to eat here is during weekdays. The place is clean & tidy.

Good vegetarian food. fast service. Prata is better than Indian stalls. Though their friendliness of service can definitely be improved or else will give them 5 star. And I have uploaded the delicious menu, which is what you must be looking for The place itself though like a hawker center feels cosy and charming. The fans make you very comfortable even on a hot day.

Perhaps I did not try the curry dishes and that’s y I find the food to be mildly average. The yam ring was quite small and Low rise, the meat and taste is v sweet. The sweet tomato paste also soaked through the yam ring making it soggy instead of crispy. The mock meat was not to our taste too.

    The salad prawn is average.

Cereal tofu is not bad but be careful when u eat, it’s v hot.

The plain prata was the best, crispy and mildly fragrant with good bowl of gravy to accompany.

Would I come again? Maybe not though I have the returned voucher.

Can get quite crowded at times so seats may be difficult to find if you’re there too late.

We ordered the claypot noodles, gong bao “chicken” rice and hotplate tofu.

Note that the hotplate tofu had eggs.

Food is really good, though the Gong bao chicken can get a bit too salty.

    Update:
Hokkien mee, sin chow mee fen and prata were good. Teh c here is very good too. Skip the kopi and chicken rice. Hor fun and ee mian were so-so.

The chicken rice set (4.50+) – The tofu was nice. The chili doesn’t really taste like chicken rice chili. The chicken taste quite sweet, quite similar to tofu taste and texture. Rice wasn’t very fragrant, doesn’t taste like chicken rice. Service was good.

    Almond Drink $2.20
Tastes great. Quite milky even though I believe there’s no milk added.
    Even has almond bits
Egg Prata $1.90 Planta Prata $2.10
Good balance of chewiness and crispiness. Looks 50% larger than average pratas; maybe because it’s thinner. Added 80c for upgrade from plain to Planta, don’t really think it’s worth it even though it’s oiler and tastier. Curry is thick.

A stand-alone open air Zhi char vegetarian stall. The food standard is comparative to a restaurant. As someone who normally eat meat dishes, I was pleasantly surprised by the texture and taste. We had curry fish head, shark fin soup, sambal sweet potato leave (this was the only dish that was lacking) and Fried Mee Sua. Total was around $43SGD.

A side note their QR ordering system is a bit funky. And may not work. Normally I’ll just go straight to the counter to order instead.

At 12.45pm weekday we were told that it’ll be a 40 mins wait, but within 25 mins all food came . But Prata came in 10 mins.
I got the horfun for myself $4. Lots of noodles given, but I could finish it cause the noodles had the wok fried fragrance and tasty! My other family members got the Sweet sour pork and Claypot ee mee! Also got 2 prata to share. I tried the sweet sour pork and it’s batter were fried perfectly, the batter was very crunchy. Prata and ee mee were very average to me, BUT the curry accompanying the prata was delicious!
Overall it was pretty good dining here. Not expensive, and not overly salty or oily! Generous portions. The number of people eating here shows how popular is this place.

You must be prepared to wait as they seem very slow at getting food to the table and preoccupied with preparing for delivery rather than serving dine in as the whole place was full of hungry dinners with nothing on their table. A pretty comical sight to see.

Taste wise.. I guess it’s pretty normal and not impressionable for the items ordered which is also more costly than the usual vegetarian stalls I frequent. Honorable mention for the sambal kangkong.. It takes first place for nearly consisting near 100% of the Kangkong stems.. Giving it a unbeatable crunchy texture to “remember” for.

The only saving grace was as at this point in time of the covid restrictions, they are one of the few around the area that sits 5 instead of 2.

The food is good but the service and ordering system is very un friendly. First, the instruction given at the table says scan qr to order. The interface is not friendly and took longer than if i had ordered manually. Later to find out that though my order went thru but it cannot be processed and the counter has to re enter the entire order: on top of that the online 4 pax set menu was not applicable. Counter did not highlight until i made the payment and realised there is a difference in price. Apparently i am also charges twice on my credit card and they can only process the refund much later as they had a system issue. Overall the dining experience was bad despite the food is good. If the online ordering system is buggy then dont ask people to order online.

MUST ORDER PRATA! BETTER THAN THOSE YOU ORDER FROM INDIAN STALL! Be prepared to wait for more than 30mins on weekend morning.

Breakfast must order: Prata and Wanton noodle. Nasi Lemak is not bad too.

Lunch/Dinner: Xing Zhou Mi Fen is really nice. Mala Xiang Guo is not bad but alittle expensive for the portion. Zichar in general is great!

If you are taking out, you may want to call ahead to order before heading down to collect. Save time and hassle to queue and wait for food. And save money ordering from foodpanda.

Order a few dishes with my colleagues. Standard has dropped a lot.
    The 家乡豆腐 taste plain.
Yam ring was highly promoted by the waitress, but turned out to be sour yam. Guess she was trying to get rid of their spoiled stocks…

Delicious Vegetarian Zi Char . Prata is quite Tasty . Staff are Hardworking and Friendly .Vegetarian Food and Drinks are Economically priced .

Cleanliness of Place can be improved such as Disinfection of tables and chairs more often . There are many pigeons and other birds around the place and they often hang around here to peck the food including the Food at the Counter like the Prata Curry . Twice ,I was dining here and the pigeons flew in to peck my food ,When I was still eating my food .

The Restaurant management should do something about it because the staff do try to chase the birds away and the birds are contaminating the food which is served to customers like the Prata Curry .Toilet needs to have a renovation and Toilet Paper . Toilet should be cleaned more often because toilet is often smelly and dirty .Overall a good place to dine at and Takeaway.

Food was excellent, perfect for vegetarians and vegans alike. Do try their cereal mushrooms or braised mushrooms. Their horfun can be shared amongst a lot of people 3-4 for medium ($7) or >5 for large ($10)
Customer service was somewhat lacking during peak hours, and be prepared to share tables with people as it gets really crowded.
The roti prata they serve is really fresh and crispy so do give it a try if you’re nearby and craving for prata.

I’m impressed by their presentation: simple yet presentable. They actually gave me a feeling like I’m savouring those dishes served at a wedding dinner. Taste wise is nice, enough taste or maybe some might feel it’s slightly salty. I like the ‘monkey head mushroom’ texture (not sure if I get the name right ) and the curry.

The curry and prata seems like their signature. I see most ppl ordered them. Might make a second visit to try out the prata.

The only bad review is the service from one of the auntie. She seems to be tired of the full house situation.

Today i came back to order the same ( boom n egg prata) and i intended to pay the money for egg and plain prata but they insist don’t want to take my money and saying is a replacement, I was surprised. The shop is located in HDB area and not quite easy to find, as it is in deep area of HDB.
Tried their wan ton mee and kway chap.
Not that amazing, the kway is hard, just out from freezer. Soup base salty.
Wan ton mee is better, wan ton is crispy, but mee is very dry and hard.

Tables and chairs are not clean. Even the mynah can almost slip when walking on the table. Food is mediocre. Considered pricey because the bulk is carbohydrates and not the sides, eg, vegetables. They will take at least half an hour to serve you food. Mind you, you have to constantly remind them else your food could go to others who ordered later than you. No process and disorganized especially during peak hours. Gave 2 stars because food is still edible. Will not return again.
