The one of its kind yuzu based shabu shabu is extraordinary! It’s location is not closed not any shopping mall or train station, we walked 10mins from Pasir Panjang MRT. But the meal definitely deserves a trip down. The snow wague is a perfect for both hotpot and grill. Other yuzu drinks and snacks are also yummy. The dining experience is enhanced by the cozy renovation and fantastic service.

    1st time to this place!

Located right behind the interlocal sign (we walked 1 round, lol) ample parking in the area, good place for all ages!

    Restaurant was spacious.

The yuzu broth was refreshing! All ingredients are very fresh and I love the grill beef best personally!

We liked the kaizen seafood set as the yuzu soup base was refreshing (and the sauce dip was tangy and suitable to with the seafood), portion for 1 set is just enough for 2 pax if both are not big eaters (can always purchase add-on dishes if need more). The signature dessert was interesting, it’s like a jello type with some syrup and matcha/sugary powders at side to dip for taste. Got the fried chicken gyoza too, which tasted better than the look.
Probably will visit again if near the area.

Recently, there are many shops that have lowered the price, so if you look at it, the price is a little higher for people who drink alcohol. The taste was good. The shop was beautiful, and it wasn’t the typical air conditioning. There are no restrooms in the store.
I would go again if I was alone, but if someone asked me if I would bring someone, I wouldn’t go.

Clean and spacious Japanese restaurant in an industrial area. The restaurant is just 1 min walk away from the car park. The food is pretty decent – think the restaurant is more known for its shabu shabu but we decided to go with carby dishes for lunch. Appreciated the chef’s effort in plating the pasta dish.

Had lunch here with two friends today, after much recommendation by a colleague. We had the shabu shabu – beef and pork set, and gyoza. I must say we were not disappointed. The food was good. The yuzu broth is refreshing. Will definitely come again.

Chanced upon this restaurant while scrolling thru possible pick-up options on Grab. Turns out it’s barely a 10 min bus ride away from my place! Thoroughly enjoyed my yuzu pasta with teriyaki chicken from this place, will be back to try more items on the menu. Just take note that it’s about a solid 4-5 minute walk from the nearest bus stop, which can feel like forever under the 12noon sun.

Nestled in the industrial estate of Pasir Panjang, Yuzutei offers tasty yuzu flavoured shabu shabu amidst the serene nocturnal surroundings. Enjoyed ourselves! 2% cashback with Fave. Will definitely return, perhaps during Monday to Thursday when they have 1 for 1 specials.

Wifey and I love the yuzu soup a lot. It was flavourful and the acidity was just nice. At the same time unique and could not find else where in Singapore. Needless to say, the A5 wagyu is just a bomb, and instantly melt in our mouth. Overall experience is satisfying

My family and I had a wonderful lunch at Yuzutei today – the Shabu shabu, wagyu beef cooked on hot stone, Hokkaido snow beef and even the gyoza and chicken wings were all delicious. The yuzu broth for the Shabu shabu tasted really good (so was the yuzu smoothie), and I’d recommend this restaurant to all Japanese food lovers. We felt the dishes were very reasonably priced and there was also no GST nor service charge. To top it off, the service was very warm and efficient. Would definitely return to try other dishes as well!

This is a hidden gem with a small but sufficient range of food and a very unique, easy-to-drink shabu shabu broth.

The restaurant is located in a light industrial estate, but is pleasantly decorated if a bit sparse. Ample parking is available right outside the restaurant.

The highlight of the meal has to be the broth, which is light and yuzu-flavoured unlike the usual heavy, thick broths you get at other hotpot places. This makes it very easy to keep drinking without feeling tired or jelak.

The restaurant offers a range of meats and seafood options for the shabu shabu, as well as other random appetisers and yakiniku options. The meats are fresh and of good quality, and pricing is quite value for money.

Value for money Xmas promo 2021 at $32 nett: wagyu beef Shabu + grilled fish. Tried the A4 wagyu beef on hotplate grill as well, very fatty, nice and tender 150g for $67 nett. Waitress is working alone but very friendly. Nice & relaxing ambience. The price on the menu is all nett & no additional GST added hence the bill comes to be very affordable with no surprises. I love the yuzu base soup, very tasty and special. I will come again on Xmas for lunch! ️️

An interesting concept of a yuzu based hotpot. Imagine the dishes in a hawker’s mini hotpot in a yuzu broth.

You can select your protein between chicken, pork or fish and it’s paired with a variety of staple hotpot vegetables. There’s even fish paste which tastes really good.

Other than the hotpot option, they also serve a range of Japanese staple dishes like Japanese curry and mentaiko pasta, etc.

Didn’t find the food as spectacular as the other reviews claimed. The food was mediocre and none of my food had fresh yuzu. I tasted a lot of the sweetened yuzu that you get from the korean yuzu concentrate

Came at 1220 and the food was only served at around 1pm. There was no drinks served while we are waiting for the food and we had to ask the staff for drinks. There were a group of patrons just left the stall after awhile when they can’t get their orders. I believed that they are short of manpower. Food was decent.

Fantastic yuzu base shabu shabu dinner!

  32. Avatar photo

    Visit Date: 8 Apr 2022
    Damage: $186.20, dinner for 4
Ordered: Yuzu non-spicy shabu pot, shirobuta pork set, kaisen (seafood) set, Hokkaido snow wagyu beef set, Asari clam + Australia wagyu + pork collar (add-on), SPAM fries, crispy moffle with chocolate and Yuzu ice-cream (dessert), Aladin Yuzu sake, Americano, cold green tea (refillable)

This place has been on my bucket list for some time. Location is quite off the grid but there’s plenty of parking available and an inexpensive one too. Definitely worth a drive down if an unpretentious evening of clean, high quality Japanese fare is your kind of night.

I was intrigued by the rave reviews of its Yuzu soup base and it certainly live up to reputation. It’s like Spring time in your mouth and Summer in your belly, and leaves you begging for more. To all other hotpots out there, you’re lucky Yuzutei isn’t a hotpot chain.

They also prized itself as one of the only two restaurants here to offer the delectable snow wagyu (two cattles a month only!) and it is served with a lot of pride and respect. Each slice is clean and the taste, gentle. Same goes for the shirobuta pork and the exceedingly fresh array of mussels, prawns, squid and sliced fish from the Kaisen set. The paired greens are delightfully remarkable too. Their version of prawn and fish paste ranks up there with the likes of Coca’s.

If I have to be picky, the dessert wasn’t mind-blowing but we’re not going to judge a restaurant more known for their hotpot and unbelievably fresh ingredients.

I will be back. Again and again and again.

We ordered Yuzu steamboat with hot stone set and it’s delicious! Started off with a citrusy soup base. As we add more ingredients, the soup base gets sweeter and sweeter. Should be msg-free as dun feel thirsty after eating. A5 wagyu beef paired with hot stone is the best! Service is very good too! Ample parking spaces. Highly recommended!!

What I love about this place:
    – Great food.
    – Lovely owners. Husband Andy is the chef while wife Jaime takes care of the service and cash register.
    – Quiet location
    – Easy parking

I’ve had the hotstone with both the A5 and A4 beef option over several visits. Ever since my first visit in Sept, I find myself returning constantly. The quality of food and service is consistent. The beef tastes great on its own. A small serving of yuzu salt dip is provided too if you’re looking to enhance the flavour.

The seafood yuzu hotpot is my favourite. On every visit, I was reminded to remove the yuzu from the broth after 5 mins of boiling to prevent the soup from becoming bitter. Talk about consistency of service delivery!
I like to leave the vegetables to boil while I feast on the beef hot stone. This seems to make the soup taste a little sweeter.
I only add the seafood into the hotpot just before eating them, so as not to overcook the delicate seafood. The freshness of the seafood is obvious from the taste and texture.

Service can be not as quick during the peak hours. Jaime tries her best, always being polite and accommodating despite having to scurry about the whole shop. Sure, they could probably hire a waiter or two to save a little bit of time for customers, but do we really need everything to be at breakneck speed? Besides, I have never found the wait to be excessively long.
Update: On a recent visit over the weekend, I saw an extra helper who is probably a part timer.

Overall, this is a gem of a place. The yuzu broth is a unique offering that I crave from time to time. Thankfully, it is only a stone’s throw from my house.

An outstanding Japanese restaurant hidden within the light industrial zone. The shabu shabu and yuzu smoothie were mind-blowingly fabulous. Finished all clean clean even though we were not famished then. Should have taken pictures of the dishes as we did not expected food to be so good since the ambience is so-so and common. Guess what, we have the whole space all to ourselves as it is public holiday. Will go back again.

This lovely little Japanese treasure is a must try if you’re in the area. The prices are affordable and quality is excellent. Lunch time draws the office crowd during the weekday and it can can get packed so try come a littler earlier or later than traditional lunch hours. Highly recommend the shabu shabu on a weekday which is only $16 available Wednesday and Friday. The ebi katsu curry is another definite winner with the proteins fried perfectly and served with a beautiful katsu sauce. Other notable items include the chirashi which uses tuna, salmon and swordfish with Yuzutei’s signature yuzu vinaigrette which is oh so delicious! Make sure you get your points recorded to get free items or discounts the next time you visit. Say hi to Jaime the lovely manager who does a good job with limited staff. Who are a gem to find this place for dinner. Served only Shabu Shabu with pork or Wagyu beef. Very tasty soup with yuzu base as well as the dipping sauce. The set come with many other ingredients like vegetables, shrimp paste, mushroom paste, mushroom, fish cake with rice. You can change to udon or noodle with added $1.50. The sake list is average with some draft Japanese beer . The ambience is wide and high ceiling make you feel bigger .. however the only draw back is only one waitress to take your temperature, take your order, make your drink like smoothie or beer, serve your food and drink, clean your table and a cashier too! Way too slow for the service and hard to have dinner if you don’t have enough time to wait .. but food is really fantastic!

Love their food so much, no mines! !
Grapefruit hot pot, with a faint aroma of grapefruit, with fresh meat and vegetables, the original flavor of the ingredients is fully presented! Recommended to friends who like the original taste of food!
Slate beef, A4 grade meat, the oil is just right, full of butter aroma, very delicious, the disadvantage is that the price is high
Pan-fried dumplings are also very distinctive. The burnt-flavored outer skin is paired with a light grapefruit-flavored filling, which is refreshing without any sense of disobedience.
The most recommended dessert, mochi muffins, with a crispy and hard outer skin and a Q-soft inner, double the taste! I can only say that it is very interesting to eat yuzu pepper for ice cream! The peppery flavor of grapefruit at the entrance is very special.

Only regret was not having found this place earlier. Food quality was great and prices were very reasonable. The A5 Hokkaido snow beef shabu shabu was delicious with the yuzu broth and we ordered extras like scallops and mussels (3 plates for $15) plus ramen to end off the meal. The pork jowl yakiniku was also tender and flavourful, a very generous serving. Yuzu sake was sweet and worth ordering. Service was wonderful and friendly. Excellent hokkaido wagyu beef and kurobuta pork shabu as well as pork jowl yakiniku dinner. I liked the dipping sauces too. Place is a bit quiet at night which was nice for me. Owners are friendly though they could do with extra help.

Menu is small over dinner, choice of shabu shabu or grill. They’ve got 1 for 1 promo on the sets too.

The Yuzu broth was refined and delicious, but food portion small and meat is lean. We had 2 sets for 2 and didn’t feel satiated. Can’t get a good grill flavor going when you are grilling over a piece of paper.

If you love soup the Yuzu broth is good but everything else just average.

Nice quiet japanese restaurant tucked in the industrial estate. Yuzu shabu shabu was delicious and friend staff too. Pricing wise, very affordable.

Quiet,.yuzu soup was tasty .. never had it anywhere else. Location can be hard to get to. Which explains why it’s pretty quiet. Will come back.

Went lunch with my Japanese boss and colleagues today.
I had the C19 Beef Gyu Don.
My colleagues had their Ebi/Chicken Curry rice, curry beef rice and Mentai Don.

Average per set ranges from 10 to 16sgd which came with a small miso soup and so-called green tea? genmai tea? they prolly mixed it..tasted weird for sure.

The portion for all of us were so small we thought this place only caters to female patrons..
All guys in our group and we are not young guys by the way…

The taste for each of our set were discussed and we agreed that the 4s in the reviews here definitely were overrated.

We gave the food here a 2.5 max not to mention I had to hit the toilet twice after the meal.

We are not going to visit here again for sure.

Great broth for Steamboat and I want to like this place but they offer no green options to add. The only greens they have they are always “out of stock” on and cabbage is not a substitute. This might be my last time coming here unless they reply to this message that they will start carrying veggies for their steamboat.

Good quality with reasonable price. Service a touch slow though, so need to wait.

By the way, the A5 grade Wagyu is selling at the sane price as Isetan and Dondonky supermarket. So I’ll rather eat there than buy home for steamboat .

Interesting deco and furnishings. A little upscale price.
Shabu shabu was very good. I like it a lot. The hot stone….. hmmmm.. . I don’t think it’s worth what I have to pay.
    I would go again. …

There’s shabu shabu, and there is Yuzutei shabu shabu. The citrus yuzu soup base and special yuzu sauce keep the palate clean and light until the last mouthful. Nice!

A real hidden gem resembling a Japanese inn that serves Yuzu inspired foods and drinks!! The Shabu Shabu is a real treat with the Yuzu brightening up the broth, and the Yuzu Smoothie is a delight upon the mouth. The Yuzu Gyoza is hand made by the chef, and is tangy and with satisfying amount of filling in it. Overall a super pleasant dining experience (plus the owner is super friendly!) – come here to fulfil your Japan itch in this travel-less era!

Tuck away at the bottom of a business building, is a small gem that sells yummy eats with delectable yuzu flavours. Curious about their offers, I gave their cold yuzu noodles with black pepper beef a shot for lunchh!

The noodles tasted fresh, light and springy with a hint of yuzu lingering slightly in it’s scent and taste. The black peppered beef adds just the right amount of kick, not too peppery and salty, and fits right into the delectable fusion of flavours. The dish seems to take you right in front of a spring of water in a garden, away from the urban landscape all around.

Definitely not for the bold flavour patron, but perfect for the ones looking for a change of pace from the heavy and thick dishes most japanses restaurants offer. Would give comments next time on their hotpot :p their hotshot apparently

Food is overall tasty. Liked the yuzu in the soup. Ingredients are fresh and portions generous. Good value for money. Ample carpark. Service was very good – attentive and friendly.

Only slight flaw is that the toilets are oddly located in the carpark area, about 50m away from the restaurant.

    Will return with friends. Thanks!

Very unique concept of yuzu soup but it actually works very well- the flavours were amazing. Recommended for a try if you’re nearby 🙂

wow, i had a really enjoyable dinner! the yuzu-themed dishes were very good! the yuzu soup and waygu were very yummy!

came here for dinner during less busy weekday. ordered one Signature Yuzu Shabu Set with A5 Hokkaido Snow Wagyu and one Ishiyaki Hot Stone Grill (yakiniku) Set with A4 Wagyu.

the service was good, and the ambience was good & quiet. the generous spacing of seats and the tall ceiling made the environment felt very comfortable. easy parking right outside.

a hidden gem in this area!!

Slightly difficult to get to but super value for money hotpot in the Pasir Panjang area. They have both hotpot and grills, but their specialties are anything with yuzu. Do make a reservation and expect some waiting time during peak meal hours. Otherwise, the food was great – definitely enjoyed my meal here

Initially skeptical about this place.. I mean it is not the most convenient restaurant to get to if you do not drive, but the food was surprisingly good.. Yuzu hotpot soup got tastier after adding in all the ingredients and boiling down. Pleasantly surprised..

Quite let down by the food since the reviews were raving. The food is just OK but the tables are too small for hot pot. Hence we are glad that not all of us ordered the hot pot.

The restaurant Is seriously understaffed n we can tell the only staff is very very stressed and hence she was a bit curt. We dun feel very welcomed but we can understand her situation.

    The prices are reasonable though.

The yuzu shabu shabu broth is super yummy! If you are a yuzu fan, u need to come here and try it for yourself. The serving amount of meat and vegetables is generous and the Kurobuta pork is soft and tender. Also tried the yuzu gyoza and yuzu milkshake, both were filled with yuzu goodness. Will definitely come again.

Went there on a afternoon, first customer of the day. Place is quite remote and and far from the main road, I like the ambience as it is high ceiling

Choice of shabu shabu set is either pork or beef, soup base is only yuzu which gives a more fruity and refreshing aftertaste from the meat.

Ordered the pork shabu shabu set and ala carte yuzu dumplings, mentaiko pasta and drinks

I like the mentaiko pasta, they used angel hair for the pasta, pasta taste just nice and the grilled prawn and sotong goes well with it

Didn’t really like the yuzu smoothie as I find it very foamy and can feel the ice when drinking, would be better if the drink is blended longer

Would come back again in the evening as I want to try the yakiniku and they only have it for evening

I ordered the yuzu tea to start and I truly loved it! Service was provided by only 1 person, the owner herself. Her husband man’s the kitchen. The yuzu shabu broth blew my mind. Never tried anything like it before. The pork jowl, belly and collar were all so tender they almost melt in your mouth. Enjoyed the dinner very much.

Not easily accessible without car but it’s great place if you want somewhere quiet and not crowded.
Came back for the yuzu cold ramen which was our most favourite. Ordered duck ($15) and grilled pork chop ($13.5) but the star is still the yuzu cold ramen. Would be great if the portion is bigger
    No GST or service charge
They offer 1 for 1 yuzu shabu shabu (which is their other signature) mon-thur dinner

Comfortable restaurant. Greeted warmly by the restaurant owner, very friendly. The shabu shabu broth was very comfortable, with pinch of yuzu flavour, goes very well with both the pork shoulder and wagyu. The bbq pant had special lining to ensure that the meat is cooked well but retains the redness of meat; keeping the tenderness.

Definitely must try their Yuzu shabu-shabu. I brought 4 of my friends here and all of them enjoyed the food. If you are not a beef eater, you can also try their pork which is equally good. Pls also try their apppetizers especially their gyozas (both seafood and yuzu-pork flav) and also. Food is fresh and bonus – asahi on tap.

Yuzu theme restaurant, most of the food was pretty decent and reasonably priced. We went at 11.50pm and was the only table around, crowd start to come in during lunch time. The place was understaff so recommended to go early if you are not prepared for the long wait.
