This is a great place located by the clear and serene sea. Boat cruise by constantly. It comes to live when the sun sets, as there is colourful lights from the nearby tourist attractions. Towering trees and skilfully trimmed bushes offer flora and fauna. There is also many statues carved intricately, showing many sports such as weightlifting, running and more. Clean and well maintained, and breezes always blow by. Would come again.

This is the name of the Youth Olympic Park after commemorating the first Summer Youth Olympic Games held in Singapore in 2010. It is Singapore’s first art park. It is located at the junction of Raffles Avenue and the Bay Bridge. The park is not very large and there are a total of 27 young Singaporean artists working in the park. There is also a viewing maze in the park and an inscription poem titled “Lion Heart”. Next to the park is the famous Singaporean Ferris Wheel and the Esplanade, while the bridge is opposite the Art Science Museum and the Sands Mall and Sands Hotel and Gardens by the Bay. If you want to go to the other side of the Marina Bay, you can stop and take a break to savor the works of these young artists in the park!

    History
The Youth Olympic Park was built to cultivate a stronger sense of community ownership and connection with Marina Bay. The park is named after the inaugural Youth Olympic Games, 2010 Summer Youth Olympics. In July 2010, Olympic-themed artwork was installed in the park to further enhance the environment.

    Today
The park provides shady and cool corners for rest, and offers a good vintage point for photography. A boardwalk connects the park to Marina Promenade, and The Helix Bridge connects the park to Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort.

    Attractions
One of the attractions in the park is located at the grand steps leading to the entrance of the Helix bridge, where visitors can read a poem titled ‘Lion Heart’, written by Amanda Chong.

Another attraction that park-goers can visit is the landscaped maze which was developed from works by Aniket Chavan. In the centre of the maze, visitors will see a 4.5-metre high “mountain”, inspired by a drawing by Joyce Seah. There is also a rock wall featuring 18 drawings by youths which depict some of Singapore’s most famous icons such as the Merlion, The Esplanade Theatres on the Bay, and HDB flats.

The ‘Emo-lightscape’ was conceptualised by Mr Kenneth Tan. It is an interactive ‘hop-scotch’ tiles that will light up when stepped on.

Another interesting installation is by Lui Honfay entitled “The Ribbon Seats

Marina Bay Sands is an integrated resort fronting Marina Bay in Singapore, owned by the Las Vegas Sands corporation. At its opening in 2010, it was billed as the world’s most expensive standalone casino property at S$8 billion, including the land cost.[2][3] The resort, designed by Moshe Safdie, includes a 2,561-room hotel, a 120,000-square-metre (1,300,000 sq ft) convention-exhibition centre, the 74,000-square-metre (800,000 sq ft) The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands mall, a museum, two large theatres, “celebrity chef” restaurants, two floating Crystal Pavilions, art-science exhibits, and the world’s largest atrium casino with 500 tables and 1,600 slot machines. The complex is topped by a 340-metre-long (1,120 ft) SkyPark with a capacity of 3,900 people and a 150 m (490 ft) infinity swimming pool, set on top of the world’s largest public cantilevered platform, which overhangs the north tower by 67 m (220 ft).[4][5] The 20-hectare resort was designed by Moshe Safdie architects.[6][7][8]

Marina Bay Sands was originally set to open in 2009, but its construction faced delays caused by escalating costs of material and labour shortages from the outset. The global financial crisis also pressured the owners, Las Vegas Sands, to delay its projects elsewhere to complete the integrated resort. Its owner decided to open the integrated resort in stages, and it was approved by the Singapore authorities.[9] The resort and SkyPark were officially opened on 23 and 24 June 2010 as part of a two-day celebration, following the casino’s opening on 27 April that year.[10] The SkyPark opened the following day. The theatres were completed in time for the first performance of Riverdance on 30 November. The indoor skating rink, which uses artificial ice, opened to a performance by Michelle Kwan on 18 December. The ArtScience Museum opened to the public and the debut of a 13-minute light, laser and water show called Wonder Full on 19 February 2011 marked the full completion of the integrated resort…

Great place to be when you are considering a walk from Esplanade Theatres by the Bay to Marina Bay Sands. Passing by the Youth Olympic Park, you take a nice cool stroll along the Helix Bridge all the while imbibing the distant scenery of Singapore’s beautiful skyline at night. From the Helix Bridge you will have a pretty nice view of the Esplanade and the towering architectures in the city.
The walk will bring you eventually to Marina Bay Sands shopping mall. But before venturing in, try walking outside along the river. There will be beautiful fountain light display along the riverside, coupled with an ambience of nostalgia and peace. Amidst the chatters of couples in love and youths trying to impress their partners, walk further towards the Merlion for a complete tour of the heart of Singapore. This route is definitely worth your while and calories.

Great park overlooking the Marina Bay area, the river and offering a quiet place to relax and enjoy the day.

    Beautiful views and architecture.

From around the park some pretty incredible photos can be taken towards to Central Business District area among others. I usually run in and around this park and it is a feast for the eye to see all the high rises and Helium Bridge and Marina Bay Sands from here independent from what time of the day it is.
