Coffee should have been piping hot but wasn’t. The bread toast was not sufficiently crispy. Soft boiled eggs were not consistent and mine had egg shell remnants. .

Our second home on weekends for breakfast as they open pretty early at 7:30am (even when the mall hour starts at 10am). We have tried several kaya toast shops but nothing beats Ya Kun’s brown bread toast and its local kopi. Our recent find is there steamed kaya which is equally good esp when served piping hot. This place gets crowded from 8am to 9am with locals bringing their whole family to eat breakfast.

My favour Ya Kun drink, black coffee less sugar.

Takashimaya stall and CompassOne stall tastes equally good and consistent. Coffee tasting is about the aromas with little bitterness.

The famous legendary kayak toast is no longer the same when they were at China Square… The toast bread is really pathetic. I guess this is the result of franchises. Before 2023, a small Teh Si cost $2. After GST increase to 8%, it rises to $2.20. that is a 10% increase instead of a 1% increase.

Today I went to ya Kun waterway point outlet with my parents for breakfast and it was very crowded. The Aunty called Helen came and ask us how many of us and quickly ushered us to the next available table! I felt that even as a cleaner, she actually went the extra mile to make sure we have a table to sit to enjoy our breakfast!

Not to mention the toast was warm, crispy and just to our liking! The eggs was perfect and the coffee is superb!!

I would like to compliment Waterway Point outlet at Punggol! Every morning there is always a long queue even before the store opens especially on weekends! But surprisingly, their service is always top notch which impresses me a lot! Even with the pressure of the crowd, they still serve the best coffee I have so far among all the ya Kun outlets that I visited. I always didn’t have to wait too long for my food to be served. My favourite is to dip my crispy toast into the smooth eggs! Not forgetting the silky barley is my daughter’s favourite!

Please keep up the good work! I will be visiting very often and recommending my friends who stay nearby to visit too!

Compliments to the great service we experienced at Ya Kun Punggol Waterway point. I’m impressed with how attentive the staff was towards customers. I was patronizing Ya Kun shop last weekend with my daughter, and was carrying my shopping items. The staff were friendly and quickly found us a seats despite the crowd, The counter staff was also very helpful in giving recommendations and explain the promotional items.

Last but most certainly not least, the cleanliness was also fantastic. I noticed the frequent cleaning of tables after each customer left. This is important for us with children and especially the recent increase of COVID cases.

It was a great experience for us and we will definitely visit YaKun @ Punggol Waterway point again!

Possibly the best Yakun outlet I’ve visited in terms of coffee and food served!

The coffee served here has never failed us. The eggs are always beautifully done, it is never undercooked or overcooked. Credits to the kitchen staff working there!

The staff in charge of the seating arrangements are on the ball too. They will politely ask the customers to give their tables up when they are done with their food, which ensured that there is a chance for everyone to enjoy their coffee. The rule of not overstaying 60 or 90 minutes are usually not enforced in other Yakun or Toast Box outlets I have been, which is frustrating for customers waiting for a seat.

Can be found in many malls with eateries!

I seriously hate it when this uncle in-charge of drinks on weekend morning. Whenever I ordered Teh that was prepared by him, it’s always so diluted. I tend to avoid ordering from this outlet whenever I see him around.

disappointment. The coffee is not good, it is too thin and has no coffee aroma. The bread is cold, it must have been sitting for a while.

Breakfast is ordinary & serving is slow. Coffee & eggs become cool. Bread still not ready. Can give a miss

Love the simplicity of yakun and its food. Nothing fancy but you can eat it at anytime anywhere. I always eat the kaya with butter toast. Simple but satisfying every time. Good if you do not want a heavy breakfast. Also good for tea and snacks. Nothing too heavy or oily.

My all time fav breakfast fix! I decided to write a review after visiting for a year because I feel the consistency is there. I’m also familiar with their staff and I have observed them. They always take pride in their area of duty. The eggs and bread are always perfection. And kudos to auntie siew wah ( our fav staff ) who’s making sure they turn out well. She’s also very friendly towards others esp kids. Even the baristas though they are pretty young they make sure the coffee and tea are brewed well. If you are looking for a quick fix, do come visit this place!

Go during off peak hours. They have never failed so far. During peak hours, they can get a little rushed (both in terms of food and service).. Overall great kaya, always well-timed soft boiled eggs!
