This place is crowded before circuit breaker. After circuit breaker, to meet the safe distancing requirement, lesser table available and hence longer waiting time. They assigned a staff to arrange seat but the staff I met on that day not so well manage. We went there 4 as a family but was not allowed to sit together despite the table is side by side. The staff also not been informed about safe entry via Singpass which now allowed more than 1 person check in.

About the food, the egg is now been soy sauce and pepper been put by the staff directly instead of self service. You not been asked about this and only knew when you are been served.

Update 31Mar2021: go in morning or before 6PM. Twice I went in last month after 6 PM, both times the service was pathetic. Made to wait more than 20 mins though the shop was nearly empty. If mgmt is reading this, they really need to improve on customer service at this branch in evenings.

Ya kun is famous for its Kaya toast and this outlet is no exception. It’s prepared fresh so it just melts in the mouth. It was a regular breakfast spot for me. Air-con is a problem at this outlet, it’s always insufficient during day time and hey have not done anything about it so far.

It tastes boring. It is recommended to eat only 2 pieces per cup of coffee.

Good coffee, crispy kaya toast and fresh eggs. A household name, they live up to their name. For $5.60 you get coffee, toast and eggs. It’s abit pricey but you get consistency.

Fast and efficient service. Staff takes initiative to clear tables and manage the flow of customers so new ones can enter. This is a huge improvement to the nearby Toast Box where the staff are unconcerned if you’re waiting a long time for a table. Better coffee here as well, thumbs up.

Friendly staff, makes limited seating capacity bearable.

Quality and taste as per other Ya Kun outlets. But I have noticed that the kaya on the toast tends to vary in amount. An established breakfast name for Singaporeans.
