Where to Stay when you come to London

Where to Stay when you come to London

London is a big city, it covers a vast expanse of ground, it is crowded and generally it takes a long time to get anywhere and it can be expensive. If you are a traveller or a businessman this can be a problem as staying in hotels in the city centre can be expensive for what you get. You might be coming over for a week to work in the city or coming as a family to holiday in the Capital.

While there are an abundance of hotels, not all are to the standard that you might want. If you are a family of four you probably want to stay together especially if you have young children. If you are a businessman you may want to be able to entertain clients with diners etc and this would be expensive if you were staying in a hotel.

Location is also important. While you might be able to find cheaper hotels in the outer areas of London you would have to travel to get into the city centre. It is fair to say that there is no way of avoiding some travel when you are in London because of the sheer size of it , but you don’t want to be spending too much of your time in the underground or on buses and so you would naturally want to stay in the city centre.

It because of all this that another solution is required: Serviced Apartments. What are serviced apartments? Basically this is an apartment that offers the convenience of a hotel but having the comfort, space and privacy of your own home. There is none of the hassle of a hotel and all of the comforts of home. You have the choice to eat out or at home and if you are a family you will save quite a lot of money if you have most of your meals at home. As a businessman this ‘home from home’ experience can be important if you are also having to deal with the other stresses of working away from home.
There are a number of companies out there offering serviced apartments. Clarendon have theirs in some fairly central and strategically placed locations, here is a list of the areas:

  • Canary Wharf
  • Bishops Gate
  • Tower Hill
  • Barbican/West SmithFileld
  • Covent Garden
  • Kensington
  • Hammersmith
  • Kew
  • Richmond
  • Staines
  • Twickenham
