What I Love About Honkey Tonkin in Nashville

Honkey Tonkin in Nashville

I recently got to visit one of my favorite places; Nashville, TN. I have been visiting this place for half my life every couple of years or so, and watching the city change and develop has been amazing. Here are my favorite places to visit, and a couple off the beaten path places you should definitely check out.

The Parthenon is located at the Centennial Park in the middle of downtown Nashville. It is full of amazing art and is a complete replica of the original located in Athens. The park itself is amazing with trails that lead all over from the actual Parthenon, around Late Watauga and to an amazing playground for the kids. There is definitely a ton of things to do for the whole family.

When going to Downtown Broadway, make sure to bring your boots. There is a live band at every location, more than one at a few, and you will never be disappointed with the entertainment. On my last trip a week ago we saw so many great acts, especially one place where an 8 year old little girl was belting out to Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin and the performance was amazing. In the past I have gotten to see Joe Nicols, before he made his break, so you never know if you’ll be listening to the next big star on your visit.

As a quick note, if you are going on a family friendly vacation, Downtown Broadway can be experienced by the kids until 6pm. Live bands start when the area opens up around 10 am, so plenty of time to bring the kids and experience some of the best part of Nashville. You can always go back later with just the adults.

I have gone here many times in the past. The entire hotel is an indoor atrium with shops, gardens, restaurants and even a boat ride around the indoor river. There is even fountain light shows that happen at a couple different locations and a huge waterfall you can walk behind. Completely family friendly and open to the public, a definite must on anyone visiting the area.

This last trip we just went on we wanted something different to eat. We stopped at this place along West End Ave on our way to the Parthenon and what an amazing experience. The beer was great, the food was amazing and the staff was really friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Nashville for a bit of local food and drink.

There are so many things to do in Nashville, but these are definitely my favourite places of all. I can’t wait to visit again; and who knows, find a new hot spot to go check out.
