Get daily necessities here. Shampoo, soap, water, face mask, plasters whatever. Good thing is that there’s a pharmacy where you can check with the pharmacist on recommendations if you have certain symptoms, for example sore eyes, tummy aches. There also tele-pharmacy where you can talk to a pharmacist live over the phone if you are visiting when they are off duty!

My family and I moved in the area 20 years ago. Yaohan was closing to be replaced by NTUC. WE ARE VERY HAPPY INDEED with this mall: it is quiet and we find all our daily needs. We have here our GP who cares for us ever since, a friend in a sense and a brilliant doctor. NTUC evolved and it is now FINEST. People are nice, welcoming and obliging.

A word of caution though: avoid NHF at all cost. You’ll be sorely cheated by thousands of dollars by a person called WENDY who’s trying to sell health supplements developed by a Malaysian singer, a transvertite with some unverifiable medical qualification obtained by correspondence from a dodgy TCM practice.
It is peculiar why authorities do not take steps into closing that shop despite numerous complaints.

The store tries to stock everything possible. This means there is a very high chance that what you want is not there. Staff aren’t very happy to serve you either. It’s best to just look around and use intuition to find the stuff you need. So far, 3 out of 5 times, I have had to walk to the neighboring pharmacy or supermarket to get what I need. Safe to say, this is a store I frequent less and less. The positives are that when they have sales, the prices are very good. Take this as a lucky dip. It all really depends. As Forrest Gump said, it’s a box of chocolates, you don’t know what you will get.

Located between two private housing estates, Soo Chow Garden and Adelphi Park, it is a neighborhood mall that’s being around since the late 1970’s. Good mix of retail shops found here. Yaohan Thomson was also located here many years ago but the anchor tenant is now NTUC FairPrice. Favourite hangout for many of residents in the area.

Family friendly. Old but cosy. I grew up here, what else can I say?! 😀 Good for families. I’ll confess that one reason I like it is that as kids (when it was still Thomson Yaohan) we used to slide – run up and down the ramps that cross the mall before the shops opened, and it’s still a unique design feature I haven’t seen elsewhere. Once a landmark, this place has fallen into the retro vortex, and not in a good way. The carpark entrance is hard to find, and is difficult to walk in and out of, especially if you have lots of grocery. Shops are rather disorganized and there are enclaves such that you can’t easily spot what you are looking for. There is a Peach Garden Restaurant there, but food and service was just ok. Toilets are dirty and some stalls are even missing the lock! It’s now a neighborhood mall at best, and isn’t really worth the trek out there if you aren’t living in the neighborhood.

At 8:49 this morning, my wife and I went to your restaurant for dinner. When ordering, we asked for strong coffee (without water), but were told that we had to pay an extra RMB 1.30. Pay three yuan!
We feel that this approach is very unreasonable, because it is only two or three teaspoons of coffee, and the price has to be nearly doubled, which also seems to be a bit stingy of your store!
Of course, there is nothing wrong with opening a door to do business to make money. We think there are two reasonable approaches:
    (1) Customers can be asked to pay an extra 20 cents or 30 cents….
Or (2) the coffee does not need to be filled up, that is to say, it is not necessary to add white water to the part where water must be added in general…
In this way, your store can save water, and the customers are satisfied. Wouldn’t everyone be happy, thank you.
