A place to be at any day of the week. Usually visited by many, Buddhists and non-devotees. Definitely a place for self-reflection and prayers. Do speak sincerely and humbly to the Buddha and gods here, they hear you and will respond to you in one way or another. You may or may not realise it but in time to come, you will. Please feel the Buddha’s compassion, loving-kindness and wisdom and be influenced to be a better person with virtues. Whether you believe or not, it is certainly a good thing to be a compassionate and wise person. There are many monks present to help and guide you should you be willing to approach. In addition, there’s daily chanting in the early hours at 7 am and evening at 6:50 pm. You may use the chanting books available to join in the chanting. The books display the original Pali language (ancient Indian language used by Sakyamuni Buddha Himself, do not be mistaken as Thai language) for chanting as well as English translation. Evening sessions usually last between one to one and a half hours. Please remember, Buddhist studies isn’t about belief in religion, it’s about understanding, awakening and practising to be a better person and to lead a happy life. May the Triple Gem guide and bless us all.

I, personally, say to myself that whenever I am in foreign land (in Indonesia or abroad), I would want to visit at least 1 (Thai/Theravada) Buddhist Temple.

I started my journey to this Temple by taking a MRT from Chinatown to Outram. Alighting at Outram, I realize that it is still quite far for me to walk there (considering the rain can come anytime) so I took bus 147. Voila there I was a few steps away.

This Temple has two sides. One side is super modern one which I, unfortunately, missed to see. I went into the Theravada Columbarium, the Dhammasala and said some prayers.

To sum up, whenever you have the chance, please come and visit. You’ll be able to recharge spiritually here.

The ‘wat’ was originally three times as large but due to property development the government took back the land. As of 2019 the Abbot is an elderly Thai monk who gives guided meditation in english after the evening chanting but is difficult to follow. As per most Thai Wats there is evening and morning chanting, morning alms giving and a regular amulet blessing monk in the dhamma-dasa if that’s your bent. The artwork in the uposatha hall is amazing. Oh and they don’t like it if you walk around the wat without your robe on and be patient with the lady in charge with cleaning the monks quarters.

Ananda Mithiya Rama Thai Temple is located in Jalan Red Hill, Singapore. The Thai Buddha Temple was built in 1918. It is the oldest Thai Buddhist temple in Singapore and the first temple outside Thailand to be established with the support of the Thai royal family.
Religion is a direction for people to seek faith and comfort. I come here to feel the infinite power of faith, and to seek the blessing of the gods in my heart, so that people can be comforted by the gods and find peace of mind.
The power of faith is inexhaustible. I think it can be said that with faith and confidence, you will have all power, and with all power, you can realize all your various dreams.
In this vast sea of people, we sometimes encounter all kinds of ups and downs in life, and feel unhappy. We will seek the help of the gods to break through all kinds of troubles in our hearts, overcome all kinds of difficulties, and live a peaceful life.
The power of faith can overcome all difficulties. People who have faith will be very clear about their life direction and value pursuit, so that they will be indomitable and never give up no matter what setbacks and difficulties they face.
The power of belief is really shocking, that is, we are all pursuing “spiritual paradise”. Faith is quietly affecting and changing our world, affecting the survival and destiny of human beings, and it is precisely because of faith.
Faith is life, life is faith, this concept has always been deeply imprinted in my mind,
I am the best witness for my faith in my life!

    信仰的力量确实令人震撼,那就是都在我们在追求“精神的天堂”。 信仰却在悄悄地影响与改变我们的世界,影响着人类的生存与命运,也正是因为有了信仰。

Today is Vesak Day… Wat Ananda Temple is filled with countless people who came here to pray for good blessings and an opportunity to bathe the Buddha and take a rare peek at The Buddha’s Relic… After praying, bathing the Buddha & having a rare peek of The Buddha Relic, they serve a simple vegetarian meal & drink for all… 😉

SAWADEE .. its a thai temple, its up on a hill, bus stop below n walk-up the stairs – there’s always a monk sitting in this temple tell him what u want or what’s ur problems n he will blessed u .. he has got a bunch, tied up of thin bamboo sticks like a bunch of joss sticks (200/300) thin like “satay” sticks that’s about twice the length .. he, the (monk) will dip D end of these sticks onto a brass bowl of holy water n he’ll sprinkle at u/us, on our face .. n drives the evil spirits away n good luck will come. Worth trying nothing to loss. GOOD LUCK..
