Came to try their promotional chicken floss with salted egg crab creation. It’s so delicious and not too overwhelming with the salted egg. Another item they introduced us was their specialty superior soon hock fish soup. Broth was thick and creamy & I really love it! Full of collagen! They really prepared it with fresh & quality ingredient. A must try when you visit!

Really enjoyed my dinner at Wanhao (inside Marriott). We had Peking duck, beef cubes, abalone & sea cucumber (this one is not so good), pork ribs and truffle prawn. I’d say 80% of the dishes really hit the mark. Also had the mango 楊枝甘露 with coconut ice cream, really good. Will be back for more!

After paying and joining the Marriott Club, happily invite my family for a meal at Wan Hao chinese restaurant but turn out to be Bu Hao chinese restaurant. Food 不好吃 service is poor. Being a member i have 50% discount on the food. So i ordered some high price quality food. But the quality is so bad. Service is so poor. After 50% discount I still had to paid $400++ after this experienced my family no more going there. So my rest of my vouchers and discounts is gone to the drain. I wish you well and improve thru this feed back.

It was a good overall dining experience. Service was good and food was good. However it took a while to serve starters. Portion is a bit small but for the quality and location I feel it’s acceptable. The booth we sat in was a little small or you could say cozy. It’s a bit pricey so do check before coming down.

We had dim sum and the food is average. The salted egg bun isn’t sweet and the bun stick to teeth. The Hor and sour dumpling was good. Macha bun was not bad either. Nothing spectacular, just over price dim sum

Although the taste isn’t mindblowing and you’ll have to pour your own tea, I think the feature of eating here is in the subtleties in the minor flavours. There isn’t the intensity and punch that singaporeans are used to, but still flavourful from the quieter notes from the constituent ingredients and spices that usually gets masked over.
Others complain about the lack of service, but I find the absence of constant distraction somewhat pleasant.
It feels like food prepared caringly that doesn’t tire the palette, just that it doesn’t really leave a deep impression. Exemplary homecooked.

The service and care from staff was not what I would expect at a Marriott. We prebooked and were placed at the door to the kitchen where staff were very busy. The atmosphere was very poor and I felt like we were not Treated with the professionalism expected at this type of establishment.
The Peking duck pancakes and the char siew were good but the 2nd course of the duck was dry and overcooked. The Kai lan was well prepared.
Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a good dining experience.

The online booking always indicates no available table when I feel like to visit in a few days. So I booked 2 weeks in advance for dine-in on a Friday night.

Pretty authentic Cantonese cuisine. We ordered from chef’s recommendation ones we wanna try. Satisfied with all the dishes.

Pork Ribs With Mandarin Orange Sauce is our favorite – fat portion of the pork ribs is quite high but well neutralized by the sweet yet a bit sour orange sauce. It’s juicy, tender and definitely goes very well with rice.

Would feel like to try the dim sum and peking duck next time.

Ate the lunar new year 8 course set meal costing $138 per person. According to the menu, the set was for a minimum of 4 pax.

Food was refreshingly different and of really high quality, the notable dish in the set was probably the bird nest soup. Service is really good as well, and the friendly servers will assist in splitting the dish into equal portions per pax.

However, do note that the food can be a little bit too filling for a table of four. I was kind of full at the fourth dish. You can however choose to take away the food if you are not able to finish it.

    Overall an enjoyable dining experience.

Dumpling festival . Finally I get to try their everyone talk about white pepper crab dumpling. It was a disappointment full of beans in there with some fishy crab floss. The dumpling is too hugh in size … it takes very very long to reheat and never remove the leaf to reheat . The whole dumpling will collapse and you will be eating glutinous rice porridge . Steam one hour from a chill condition the dumpling is still cold inside .. and the external is over cook the rice is all mashy . I find alot of beans in their dumpling maybe just to fill up the space . Overall doesn’t taste that fantastic and it a torture going through the reheating process.

Service is polite but somewhat rushed. Could be short of staff.

Wide variety of food. We had dim sum, the food was not bad. The prices were on the high side.
The main issue was the service, we could not get any one to top up the tea.
The staff seemed to have the ability to avoid the our eye contact. The only staff working was the male manager. Not sure if the restaurant was short handed or each staff had their own territory to handle.
In short, the agony of getting the attention of the staff was really unpleasant.

Tried this restuarsnt when HSBC is having a promotion.

Service is not as good when comparing with other resturant which are also located in the hotel. I remember requesting for complimentary carpark ticket and the waitress took a look at our receipt without asking for it then pass a ticket to us (is there a minimum spending amount required in order to get a complimentary ticket?) . Even when clearing plates, they don’t inform us and just clear the plates away like they are in a rush.

Food is still OK. Their signature fried chicken and fried rice are normal but their tofu is good.

Overall experience, they don’t make the guest feel welcome. Everything they do seems like they are in a rush, from ordering food to serving food to collecting of empty plates. No thank you from the waitress or waiter when leaving.

Perhaps I’m expecting a little bit more of service since they are a restaurant located in the hotel.

Had some pastries and egg tarts from Wan Hao Restaurant recently.

My parents and siblings finished the novelty items like Red Bean Egg Tart or Gula Melaka Egg Tart before I could try them. I had the classic items like the Original Egg Tart and the Char Siew Su though and find them to be pretty good. The egg tart has a nice buttery crust and the filling was just right, it beats some of the Cantonese egg tart shops that have pop up around Singapore recently. The classic egg tart here is also a little different from the Tai Cheong Egg Tarts, it has a more old-school texture.

The baked char siew pastry was yummy, the filling was delicious.

Wan hao is one of those Chinese restaurants to go to when we want a special treat. Certainly expensive and booking a table is a nightmare but there is no denying that the food is always consistently of a high standard. Nearly every menu item except for the even more overpriced soups are favourite menu items. One of the hardest things to do there is to make a choice of dishes so that we do not over order and bust the budget so that we have to eat hawker food for the rest of the month.
The yu sheng during Chinese new year was the best we ever had at $200+ per platter but there was sashimi lobster, salmon and hamachi. And the freshest shredded vegetables and a nicely balanced sauce.
Today we had a birthday celebration at Wanhao and it was excellent. Extremely polite , attentive , obliging and unobtrusive service , excellent food. The wagyu beef cubes were especially good and so was the garoupa fillet. The only complaint is that the house wine, a shiraz labelled the Shy Pig was too fruity.

I like this restaurant, because it is pretty spacious. The food here is also pretty good. Expect to pay for mains, starting from $25.
    1) Poached Pork and Prawn Dumpling with Spicy Szechuan Vinegar Sauce ($8 for 4 pcs) – each dumpling was pretty big, and the sauce was not too spicy. This would be good as an appetiser.
    2) Steamed Glutinous Rice with Dried Shrimp, Chicken and Mushroom ($5) – pretty average.
    3) Wan Hao Signature Crispy Chicken ($28 for half a chicken) – I definitely recommend this dish. The skin is really crispy, and the meat is still very moist. The portion is also pretty large.
    4) Braised Iberico Pork with Chinese Sausage and Yam ($36 for small) – I also highly recommend this dish. It is tasty. The pork is also very tender.
    5) Poached Sharp Spinach with Minced Shrimp, Tobiko and Garlic ($24 for small) – I enjoyed this dish because of the texture and mouthfeel of the dish. The shrimp bits and tobiko really add to the chewing experience and makes things less mundane.
The food ordered was sufficient for three people.

I hesitated writing this review as I didn’t really dine within Wan Hao but was attending a wedding dinner at an adjacent ballroom which was serving Wan Hao’s food.

My main gripe with the food was, because they were portioning out all the dishes except for the soup, and given the many tables of guests attending the banquet, most of the dishes were cold when they were finally served.

That being said, I think the soup and abalone dish was great. The abalone was really flavourful. Maybe I will see if I can find time to give Wan Hao’s food a try and ascertain if it’s better dining within the restaurant.

    Absolutely PHENOMENAL PLACE. 100/10.

The food is so good! I’ve been to so many chinese restaurant, that in the end, feels like a an overpriced tzechar place. BUT this place is OF A DIFFERENT LEAGUE. The prawns were perfectly fried, perfectly golden, not oily. Mushrooms were so soft and amazing, so well-seasoned.

The TEA is AMAZING. There’s complexity in the taste, you can tell that the tea options were selected carefully by an expert.

Even though it was a busy time, the waiters were still quite attentive, refilling the tea everytime without me calling for them.

Although, 1 criticism may be that the portion sizes were way too small imo. $16 for a small bowl of stir-fry pork…

In short, the agony of getting the attention of the staff was really unpleasant.
Hope things will improve the next time.

Visited Wan Hao this afternoon to celebrate my Dad’s 66th Birthday.

Its a blessing that Govt had opened up for dining in.

Reservation was made 1 day in advanced.

We ordered ala carte Dim Sum, appetisers and main dishes.

Food was good and seafood are very fresh.

Staff are attentive and service is prompt.

Would return again for their Dim Sum (available for lunch only)

Lucky us, Citibank is having a 15% discount off total bill.

Dinner at one of the stalwarts of Cantonese cuisine in Singapore. Been at Marriott since 1995 so it’s an established outfit in town.

Dishes in general were good, albeit slightly salty. Price was also very reasonable, especially by 5* hotel standards. Interior was slightly dated but there are a number of private rooms available for a private function.

Peking duck ($100 for whole and +$10 for Small second dish) was pretty good (but not life changing) and worth trying. Soup is definitely recommended, we had the Golden Superior Stock with Fish Maw, Sea Cucumber, Abalone & Bamboo Shoot ($22) and it was delicious! Homemade Seaweed Beancurd ($24) was also well done.

Service was all right, but not the most attentive all the time. Price can be made better if you have Amex Love Dining benefits.

I have visited Wan Hao on numerous occasions and I am pleased with their overall service and food quality. You can use AMEX Platinum or join Club Marriott for attractive dining discounts.

Restaurant wasnt that busy on weekday lunch but somehow it was fully booked. It also somehow gave me the impression that size of the restaurant had shrunk a bit recently, place certainly looks smaller than before. Reliable place for dim sum though i wish they have more varieties. Abalone dish was a let down, totally misled by server who said it shd be around 100g, we had a laugh when the dish came out as its clearly a small mouthful only, hope they will train up their server better to give correct info to customers.

A restaurant that has good Lou Hei – not so sweet. The roasted chicken was nice and tender. The other dishes are so so. The attention of the service staff is not too bad. Generally a good place to go since it’s not as crowded as other restaurant.

We were reminiscing an old family haunt, so came back to this charming restaurant for a nostalgic lunch just before the New Year. Food is elegant and we love the classy ambience. The hospitality and service standards aren’t quite as warm and friendly as we remembered though.

There are irish and local ducks. Irish ones are fattier as I understand. Just go with local one its good. Best thing for the Beijing duck is the dish is wrapped when served and cooking with 面线 does not have extra charge

visited them last year with my wife. Food is good but service could be better. Stood at the door for a long while (with many crew members walking past us). we tried to get their attention but they seemed to be very busy and understaffed.

after we ate, we were left waiting to pay the bill. I walked to the kitchen dorr to get help after waiting for about 15-20mins and it was settled quite quickly thereafter.

Good quality Chinese food at wan hao, located quite conveniently in orchard
For me the best dish was always the duck which is very good, the skin was wrapped and the meat was later made into fried rice
Also the coconut dessert (recommended on menu) is also great
Overall a good place for a treat . But can be busy so booking definitely neeeded

Chinese fine dining with very fresh ingredients. The crispy pumpkin with ample pork floss is great as a starter and generous for a portion. The beef roll with enoki mushroom is a special item on promotion, tasty. The only slight disappointment is the XO mee sua, although also well done, was merely normal.

Went for a food tasting for a wedding banquet. Service was extremely poor. Plates were not changed and drinks were not topped up. 2 waitresses serving 4 tables were slow and incompetent. Poor value for mediocre food. Have to even purchase my own wine cos coordinater did not arrange for wine to be part of the tasting

Latest update – Had the wedding dinner there on the 15/9/18 and all guests said that the food was fantastic. Well done Chef

Dim sum is below average in taste. We ordered jelly fish head but was served with jelly fish which the waitress initially claimed that it’s jelly fish head. After I complaint again, then she brought it back to the kitchen and said that the item will be considered cancelled. Suckling pig’s meat was too dry. Taste like previous day’s leftovers.

The steamed fish in the shell is just cooked well, but the fish is so open that it looks worthless. The outer layer of the ribs is weird. The fish is the best.

100 new + per capita, every dish is delicious! The white pepper crab is the best I’ve ever had in Singapore, and the beef cubes are so tender and tasty! XO asparagus is also good! The environment is very quiet and suitable for friends to chat, and the waiters are also very friendly.

Staff were attentive. Lunch hour they were fully booked from what I see. Do make prior reservation at least 3 days in advance.

The menu is prefixed so we cannot select the dishes.

The moment we were seated, found a corner near my spouse’s seat littered with crumbs though. You don’t expect this in a classy restaurant in a reputable five star hotel.

Food was served hot and I liked that the food was served in individual portions for hubby and me. Nice presentation, neat and hygienic.

Excellent dim sum and elegant Chinese cuisine in an intimate, classy setting. Dim sum is innovative, with a truffle dumpling that’s fragrant but not overdone. Classics like roast chicken are great – the signature roast chicken has excellent crispy skin and tender flesh. One of the places to go for excellent Chinese food.
