Very warm sitting inside, was air-con turn down deliberately? Lots of elderly hanging around in the afternoon.. maybe they don’t like it too cold, I wonder…

Tea was served just hot, not piping hot..
Does anyone know why they don’t serve the coffee and tea piping hot anymore?

Toast Box, no matter in which outlets and timings, is forever crowded. Today tried the Bak Kwa Fried Rice Set $10.10, it is a CNY menu. It comes with your choice of sliced cake, hot beverage and Fried Rice. Fried Rice is a bit dry for my liking but luckily it goes well with the sliced Bak Kwa. Pandan cake is fluffy. My beverage is Hot Lemon tea.

I wonder why people say this is good place to chit chat when there is almost always a crowd. With people waiting for tables and seats can you really feel good chatting? Drink that nice cup of hot beverage and find somewhere else to chat. I am not trying to be mean but please be considerate. This is not a cheapo Starbucks even though some people may think so.

Love their ice lemon tea with many slices (5) of lemon. But why so environmental unfriendly serving paper cups recently? i am fine with the plastic reuseable cups
Dripping water from AC is annoying and false ceiling condition is filled with mould which is unacceptable from such a large corporation

Traditional kaya toast set (including a cup of coffee/tea & 2 half-boiled eggs) is one of the favourite choice of breakfast for many locals. You can expect a very localized coffee shop setting: being served by veteran friendly staff, seated on stool (rather than a chair with back support), and an environment infused with nanyang coffee smell in Toast Box; likewise in other similar coffee shop chains eg. Ya Kun and Fun Toast etc.
Overall, the hygiene level in these outlets is well-upkeep. Taste of food is up to standard. 1 star deducted as the aircon out-let (in Westgate branch) seem dusty.

My favourite place to go at Westgate.
Quite like the toast and the tea, including the half boiled eggs. I would normally order the set, value for money.
Price was still reasonable. There were also other main courses available too.
A good place to relax and enjoy breakfast or tea.
    Strongly recommended.

I always go there for their peanut butter thick toast set, the quality and taste are well maintained most of the time but just take note to avoid lunch peak hours.

Besides, would like to highlight to Toast Box management to spend a little of effort to change a latest price list, the one I captured recently was outdated for quite some time already.

Owned by Breadtalk, Toast box attempts to recreate the nostalgic yesteryears of nanyang coffee and traditional toast. This outlet is conveniently located on the 2nd floor in Westgate and there are ample seating for the customers. It is recommended to avoid the rush hour as the place can get packed real quick. Apart from the toast, it also serve local delights such as curry chicken, laksa and so on.

A spacious outlet serving decent coffee and tea well known across its chain. Crowded every weekday during lunch time with nearby office workers and all day at the weekends with shoppers.

However, the drinks and food are overpriced and this is not restricted to this chain but to the other one with an old fashioned chinese name as well. Around $1.80 for a dainty cup of coffee or tea is outrageous.

Nowadays i just go for their coffee and traditional toast. They have changed their receipe for the local dishes eg. MEE siam, laksa and mee rebus. They taste horrible now. I wonder why? They were popular dishes but less pp are ordering them. But service at TTSH outlet and Westgate. The girls are so rude as if they work at fish market. Yew Tee outlet has better service team but only in the mornings. The afternn team talks loudly and are very rude. Lucky they have to wear the masks now.

I thought the attitude of the cashier was sub-par today at this branch given I’ve been to many other TBs around with higher level of professionalism displayed. No thank you offered, and yet the cashier was slightly annoyed when I asked her how much I have to pay (for the second time since the background was a little noisy).

Worst still, a lot of empty trays lying around, and dishes not cleared. This is not exactly peak hour at the time I patronized the shop (10am on a Tuesday).

As with all other Toastbox outlets around, this one is very well serviced and conveniently located. The only thing that I don’t quite like about it is that the number of seats can be a tad bit limited, so you may have to wait. The queue management system can also be better done, as people started curling the queues within the shop, which will impact sitting space and the comfort of people inside.

First had this at Paragon and it was good. Craved for it again but this time had it at WestGate but here the rice is too moist that it loses its grains texture. But the drumstick is equally good with tenderness.

Edited: You are allowed to order the braised pork rice without the drumstick but do ask for it.
