Amazing food with hour long queues.

Dumplings from the wanton mee shop was well flavoured with a crunch. Very tasty treat!

Wanton mee was q but a little bland.I prefer a stronger flavour. Like those saucy black wanton mee. Char siew was nothing to shout about.

    Carrot cake was decent.

Fish soup was the best dish. Clear yet very well flavoured.

Small food centre at the 2nd level above the wet market. Not much variety, but it houses a few rather famous stalls. Crowds are usually congregated around the same few stalls and the waiting time can be very long, esp the carrot cake, Hokkien mee and muffin. Prices for some stalls are on the expensive side for an old neighbourhood.

This is one of those old hawker centre where you can enjoy food prepared by long time hawkefs themselves. Not your typical cookie cutter air-conditioned food courts serving souless food that do nothing except filling up tummy.

Must try: Tian Tian Lai Fried Prawn Noodles, teochew buns, Dennea Prawn Noodles, Uggli muffins and more.

I’m a easterner, and travel all the way there just to try their food! Recommend you to try their mi jian kuey, 天天来 Hokkien mee, Uggli Muffins etc.

    April 2018: updated.

Wet Market: good selection of vendors for pork, fish (check out the couple in the middle of the wet market- along the central aisle), chicken, tauhu(tofu); vegetables [I like “fresh vegetables” {sic} at #01-10], fruit.

Dry market stalls: I get nuts & biscuits from the guy opposite the gold/ jewellery stall, near the fruit stall.

Food center upstairs: the pau (dumpling) stall is great for quick/small bites. Try the fish soup guy, too. Also the you zha kueh/ you tiao (fried fritters) stall- taken with coffee …

Got there at the wrong time, 12 noon lunch time rush. Could not get my fix of Fried Hokkien Noodles because the wait was 1 hour. Settled for Kway Chap instead. Too crowded for my comfort. Will try to get there really early next time.

Newly reopened after a renovation. Not a big hawker centre, but has a few good and popular stalls with a constant line of customers. The food pricing range from cheap to reasonable. The quality is decent, authentic, and sometimes nostalgic. Crowded during lunch hour, and most stalls closes after lunch.

I give it a 5 star rating as I found 2 stalls were exceptional out of my expectation, although the other 2 with fairly ok taste after my own trial. The soybeam milk and the You Tiao Man are awesome, it’s the best I’ve tried since came to Singapore. The You Tiao Man has no butter flavor, and it’s not like the others that it too much stuff, it tastes crisp out side but also light feel inside with a little salty. The boss said there’s not so many people make You Tiao in the old way like him, I totally believe.
Astonishingly, the 88 congee was a little disappointed though a lot of people were in the queue. The congee is too thick, rice was not totally melted. Maybe I’ve tasted too much Cantonese style of congee, I would only give 3 star for this. The Teochew Handmade Pau was ok, I’ll give it a 4 star, as it’s just doing ok and the same as I tried in a Pau stall in Tiong Bahru. I didn’t try the other famous ones like carrot cake, fried fish soap that day as they were not open. But all in all, a place worth to go again!

Lots of good food options within the hawker and around the area too. Food are all on the second floor with the wet Market downstairs. Home to many famous food like hokkien mee (come daiky- my go to alternative to geylang), fishball noodle, chicken rice and more. Tried a new peanut pancake here today (stall is located in the middle area) and was cheap and good ! Pieces were also quite big.

There’s a good hakka ytf at the nearby coffee shop and a couple of cafes near the old creamier area.

My go to place if I’m around the tpy area for a relaxing fuss free meal. Lots of parking options around too.

The Lei Cha #02-39 is phenomenal and only $4 for a big main bowl and the cha!!! So delicious!! I would say the handmade teochew pau & 88 congee is a 4/5, pretty standard.

This is a well known hawker centre to TPY residents with lots of good quality food at reasonable prices. The stalls usually sold out and closed by 2pm. Not many open for the evening. It is already quite crowded with “local” so really, it is good to know. Not expecting more people to join the crowd during this period. 😉

A lovely mix of food stalls on the top floor (second storey) and a wet market that has traditional stalls like alteration shops and coffee beans, plus a wide selection of stalls selling vegetables, meat, seafood – all fresh!! One can even find unique vegetables typically not found at a local wet market such as kale, organic mini carrots, romanesco brocoli, and even fennel!

The building is old and every part looks untidy. There 2 areas namely the wet market on the ground level and the hawker food on the upper level. For the wet market it’s no different from any heartland market. Price wise a little costly in comparison. As for the food, they are not fantastic. Only 1 hawker worth mentioning and that is the Rei Cha. Food and store display look very clean. Overall this place is very crowded. It seems the crowd came from the surrounding HDB dwellers.

Prawn Mee with Clams ($6.50). Was surprised that a halal prawn mee could still be good even though no pork was used in the broth. Lots of chicken bones were used instead of pork bone, together with anchovies, dried shrimps and prawn shells.

Those who like their prawn noodles dry should also like that the noodles were savoury and fragrant with lots of fried shallots in the mix.

Not a big market versus some other market in Singapore but sufficiently adequate.
The daily market covers all the basis necessity for a household ranging from fishes, meat, hehe, dry and wet items inclusive of toiletries, groceries, household item.
The Food court above provides a cheap and good Singapore galore from morning till evening.
Though nothing to shout about overall but it serve the purpose of a neighbourhood market for the surrounding residence.
Some Singaporean comes from the other side of the island for the food in this market.

Fairly empty at time of visit (10am Friday).
Stores with constant queue were the roast meat store, main tauhuey store, hokkien mee store.

Ordered the famous carrot cake large size $4, took about 40mins. Not as nice as I recall and frankly even too salty, and this was after I had my other dishes. Wouldn’t have it again.

Had the large size $3.50 mee Siam, it was really good and I would be happy to have it again. Auntie squeezes the lime juice for you so you don’t have to do it yourself.

The tauhuey $1 was good but I didn’t prefer it. Though silky somehow I felt there was no more soybean taste. It felt like I was eating agarAgar or pudding…

Hokkien mee smallest size $5, was really good. It was flavorful, umami, good taste of lard without the porky taste. Chilli was not my fav but the base noodles itself was way too good already. Would have it again but it is a big portion for the smallest size.

Toapayoh HC is not bad. Was wondering why it was quite empty today but realised must have been because of the current covid cluster here . Lol…

Came here during lunch time on a weekday and most of the stalls were closed. There were still customers eating here. But only choices were fish soup, nasi lemak, pau and thunder tea rice.
    Very disappointed.

The tables and chairs were very clean tho. Good job and well done to the cleaners.

This is the one at Block 127 and houses several good food stalls.

One of the best Economy Bee Hoon (or Bee Hoon for morning breakfast) is on the 2nd floor.

This is a Must try. In fact, the noodles are just as good. Eat them when hot or warm. Satisfaction guaranteed – even without adding any other ingredients. Best of All, it is very affordable.

This place also have 3 Chinese fried carrot cake stalls.

All 3 good. But one of them (at corner) is super proud and they’ll always tell you that the queue is an hour long. I waited and tried this as well as the rest.

My verdict is that they’re all about the same. In fact, the one with the long queue is oily but also doesn’t taste like the common Chinese carrot cake. You decide!

At level 2 the wanton noodle stall still has long Q, I missed it because I do not want to Q. I found 天天来Hokkien fries noodle. I was very delighted. Unfortunately I did not get to eat. This hawker centre is one of the best hawkers in Singapore. Many awarded & featured hawker stores from various online platform as well as newspaper outlets.

Some of the famous stores here include this white carrot cake store ( for $4 theres a generous portion of egg. The texture on the outside is crispy & soft on the inside chilli sauce is slightly on the sweeter side & not too spicy for those who can’t stand the heat)

Hokkien mee ($8 portion in the picture. Get 5 small prawns which are peeled for you & no fishy smell for the sotong n prawn. This will be the wetter version of hokkien mee. It’s a good plate but only thing lacking is more char flavour or wokhei.)

Many other food here not in the picture but are delicious !!!!

I always love this place. Biased review as I used to frequent here when I was young. The carrot cake is undoubtedly the best food in his hawker as well as the best White Carrot in Singapore.

This hawker is amazing with many great food options to great Wanting Noodles , Fried food etc. All and almost everything is great.

Do check out the muffins which is always so affordable and delicious.

I had the some usual mixed noodles along with the new stall chwee Kueh and peanut Pancakes. The peanut Pancake really gets the 7.5/10. Really good however the chweekueh does need more work on them. With the radish not as delicious.

Just another typical hawker center with the wet market downstairs. Our usual food is porridge but order the youtiao at another stall. The koay teow soup too. Forgot the stall unit numbers. You’ll find them with the queues. There are many other places that people queue like nasi lemak (order the drinks near it – the old man will take your orders and serve you at your table unlike the others).

the fresh fish stalls looked clean n lively, plenty of vegetables n a row of friendly clothes stalls too. Food Centre on upper level (has Teochew handmade pau stall). Plant for sale grd level corner is gd value.
At 128 is Niche Cafe, hair salon n sundry shops for housewares n cute hair accessories. Far corner of this block is coffeeshop with very good Roast Meat rice stall.

At 124 is good value Hakka Yong Tau hu n a seafood restaurant in airy coffeeshop. For amusement, there’s Japan Home store. Blk facing 124 has good reflexology at Healing Hands.

The wet market serves an old estate which main concern is price. Being that there must stalls sell their stuff slightly cheaper than the newer estates. The fish stalls are plentiful (more than 10) and the produce is fresh. You can find most of the seafood here including lobster. Laid on top is a food centre that housed many popular stalls that earned their names from the test of time. Hokkien mee, fried carrot cake, wanton noodle and roast meat stalls are often seen with long queues.

the old style “messy” hawker perched on 2nd floor. seating arrangement not very ideal with the odd oval tables at the centre, but what’s more important are the stalls which don’t disappoint. quite a number of stalls which we frequent like the porridge, kway chap, fish soup, uggly muffins, mixed rice, you tiao, coffee/tea and paus (steamed buns). probably few more that i forgot to mention. enough varieties to suit most eaters plus they’re cheap and good! finding table and seats during peak hours isn’t too difficult either, as the customers turnover are rather fast so usually won’t have to wait too long. dreading the day when the place will be renovated and everything become spanking new and clean.. lose its old days charm. prefer the way it is now!
