One of the last operation “retro” swimming complexes. Brings back great memories as a kid and is relatively well maintained. My only gripe is that they stopped having snack bars in the complex. I loved having fishballs on a stick as a snack in between or after swims.

Sincerely hope we will not demolish a perfectly good facility such as this and waste money rebuilding it. Just spruce it up a little and it’s perfectly fine.

I regularly go to TP Swimming complex.

The good: Cheap to enter. During day there isn’t many people or kids.

The Not so good: toilets are not well maintained, staff is not very helpful when asking questions about programs and Swimming instruction for my kids,

The bad: the canteen is crazy expensive and has the worst possible (if you can call it) food. Singapore Sports should take a healthy lifestyle approach to food and beverage choices. And we get scolded when we bring fresh fruit!

Highly organised with disciplined and watchful life-guards. Easy access to snacks and drinks. One pool for ordinary casual swimmers an another for people who like to do laps. Gate separates trainees for competition and you must be permitted to join those guys. Enjoy reading, sunning and relaxing with no unusual intrusive stares as all good people. Lockers, changing rooms showers and toilets really good quality and super clean.

I was there today from 10.40 to 11.15+ . Couldn’t swim as there were school kids all over the pool. There was no space for other people to swim because the kids are getting in the way. It’ll be better if there is some separation for school kids/lessons and normal swimmers. I couldn’t even swim half an hr and had to leave early. Also would be better if there is a notice in the website/activesg app if there will be school lessons on a specific day and time. Also the toddler pool has been closed since forever and no reason why its not open. Sad that I can’t bring my toddler as this is my nearest swimming complex.

    Update :
Wrote to the team and got response that there is not enough manpower (lifeguards)

the pool is good beside sometime is too crowded

But the changing room not ok at all!!!
the shower faucets u have to keep pressing for water
1 press, water only supply for 7second
how u gonna shower for 7 second and is very annoying by keep pressing the faucets!
So from here obviously u can see they purposely don’t want u shower here!
same goes to female changing room as my wife encounter same problems!

    And now because of CbP2
there time limit for 50min swim only
not all 50min u can swim in the pool
    u wrong!

life guard will whist 5min ago to chase all out from pool
    but is not standard
sometimes life guard will do it earlier like 10min ago!!!
so u lose more time for swim !
actually u only get 35min to swim in the pool
    max is only 45min

make sure u not come on last slot 845pm
    u can’t swim till 935pm
they will ask u leave the pool around 915pm
cuz they said 930pm all have to leave as is government rules!!
i telling the truth!! cuz this is wat we encounter before!!
unless u rich n don’t mind just swim for 25min then go ahead!!

One of the first swimming pool in the early satellite town in Singapore. The main swimming venue of the Seap games in the early years before the game change the name to Asean games.
It’s also the home to the national team for swimming, water polo and diving teams.
The side of the pool that is open to the public consists of a 50 meters competition pool, a teaching pool and a children’s play pool.
The non public area consists of a international 50 meters Olympic competition pool, a 10 meters diving cum water polo pool.

That nostalgic feeling you get upon entering the premises!

Life Guards were so understanding when my kids swam in dri-fit instead of actual swimming costumes. Approached me personally and gave us a one-time exception for the dress code!

    Love swimming here at night!

Enough large pools to accommodate plenty of children and adults.

Entrance can also be paid via EZ-link or ActiveSG account.

There’s vending machines inside and outside of the pool area.

Shower rooms are clean with mostly functional showers.

Do bring your body wash and shampoo as this is after all a public pool.

Amazing amenities and I went when they had special events on during the weekend so it was really really cool with slacklines, climbing walls, yoga mats on water, other floatation obstacle course, water polo, dunker tank and proper diving, lane and kids paddling pool.
    Staff very helpful extremely cheap!!!

Note: If using lockers make sure you have plenty 20c coins as you will need them, the locker eats them so you won’t get them back.

They don’t sell googles, hats, etc but they are not required.

Toa Payoh Swimming Complex offers outdoor pool that’s warm. Many families like to come here with their young children because there is a pool which is catered to younger children. You can book your ticket on Active SG App prior to visit.

The lanes of the competition pool is well segregated with a choice of wider lanes that is catered for more people to swim. Noted that the shallow children pool is closed.

Pool and toilet are clean for all. There’s also hand dryer at the toilet. Toilets are spacious and showerheads are big. Basins are huge as well.

You can keep your bags at the lockers. It’s very safe.

There are some vending machines for you to purchase drinks if needed. Noted there’s no water cooler.

For those who wish to wait for their children can sit at the benches which even have Chinese chess and checkers on the table for those who are interested to play.

If you go in the evening, you also get to enjoy very beautiful skies when the sun sets.

Excellent sports facility in the heart of the Toa Payoh district. Has everything from Gym, Table Tennis to Swimming Pools. Competition quality swimming pools with wide broad bleachers for audience to watch. 5 pools here so plenty of space to practice.

ActiveSG pass is a must to enter. Each time you re-enter, you have to pay again, so be careful when exiting the place.

Active sg is the only mode of payment to get in and a credit card is required to top up the wallet in it. Such unnecessary red tape for anyone wanting to use the pool. Is this how people are encouraged to stay healthy?

I used to come here almost every day while I was living in Singapore. Before noon on weekdays it wasn’t crowded. Of course it wasn’t perfect, the changing room was old, etc., but as the entrance fee was so cheap I must give it a five.

Perfect place to swim on the weekends. There is a wading pool for kids, a general pool for others and a third pool for exercising/ swimming proper. Usually two lanes are taken up for classes and a further two dedicated for lap swimming only, leaving the rest 5-6 lanes for general swimmers.

A small shop is in the compounds of the swimming complex as well, selling drinks, snacks, and some swimming equipment.
