Thank you to The Daulat Hotel ***agement. We told Hotel Boss at the reception we just needed a place to crash and staff there were so accommodating and welcoming. The reason that I am giving the Daulat an extremely low rating is that I spent a sleepless night after being purposefully lied to about the noise level in my room.
We, me and my son stayed in Daulat for 10 days and it was a real good experience.
We were so very comfortable and looked after so well.
From the impeccable rooms to the the ever courteous staff that we encountered. The rooms are adequate enough and everything was well arranged and easy to operate. The only issue was the loud music from the music bars next door that begins very late night till 3am but it gets softer and by the time we returned each night it was too tiring to keep track of the music.
We had an amazing stay which was safe and comfortable.
A big kuddos to the entire staff and a very happy Eid to All of you there who took such good care of us.Happy Eid Lini, Ain, Ahmad,Amin, Khai, Bava, Mezz, Joe.
This hotel is on the border of Little India and Bugis. The MRT station is only 200 metres from the hotel. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. It is a small hotel with a variety of room styles. The size of some rooms is typical of Singapore while others are quite spacious. The price of the room includes breakfast which is limited in choice but more than enough to satisfy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would stay hete again.
I was warmly greeted by the ***ager on duty, Mohd Amin. Amenities was satisfactory. The location is good too as it is a short walk to the Tekka Centre MRT and Little India. We missed the breakfast though but the whole experience was awesome thumbs up to Daulat Hotel.
small room
Creativity at it’s best. This hotel explains how a small space can be turned to a beautiful room where every corner is utilized. Best for couples. Hospitality at it’s best. Close to MRT, Mustafa shopping center and various restaurants serving Indian as well as Thai cuisines.
It is a simple lodging i would say. There is no bellboy. There is no room service. Even the breakfast is served in a nearby hotel called THE GREAT MADRAS. The lobby and reception area is average. The rooms are too small. Very difficult to stay with a child especially. The Hotel is located in a area called Little India.
Small hotel in the Indian quarter. Suitable for urban tourism
It doesn’t have a kitchen or laundry service. The breakfast provided is very limited and not good.
Quite a decent place to be in. Comfy loft styled rooms, decent amenities and location wise. Right smack in little India. Lots of bars, coffeeshops and cafes… lots of convenient stores too. So u need not worry about food or getting ur quick bites/snacks. It’s close to Sim Lim Square for all u tech junkies out there. overall, it’s a nice, simple boutique hotel.
Room are small, typical for hotels in singapore. Receptionist are very friendly. Location was great. Very near to MRT station. Many halal food hawker near hotel
A cosy place just behind tekka mall. Got the deluxe room for a day’s staycay and just love the layout of the room! The staf, Thillai, is really friendly and sorted my morning check-out smoothly. Thank you so much!
Quiet hotel. Nice.
A Persian Boutique Hotel and High Quality Room and Service
The Daulat is perfect if you are looking for a hotel with a personal touch in the most vibrant and colourful part of the city “”Little India. The location is perfect for exploring the city especially the Indian district so make the most. Will definitely recommend my friends to try it out.
Staff friendly
Had a great stay, was a little worried because of the reviews i saw online. However it wasn’t as bad and still had a great time
The hotel is near “little India” which is one of the place to visit and there is a lots of Indian restaurants around this location.
Not a good place for lunch. Food serving was so slow that it took almost 40mins for our meals to arrive. There wasn’t any patrons during lunch except us. Food presentation was ok but all tasted below average and overly priced. We ordered 3 coffees and they were served 10mins apart each other. Forks and spoons were oily like being used by guests before. No apologies when asked for a clean set. Not sure how the rooms are, but certainly they can go without the food service. Not worth any penny.
We had a wonderful (albeit brief) stop over in Singapore. We did not use the swimming pool but could have done for free if we wanted. Special mention for the wonderful shower. I’m currently sitting on the patio eating my complementary breakfast and watching little India waken. The location was great for us.
We stayed here for about 3 days.
Pros:
*Available hair dryer
*Hot shower
*Free buffet breakfast
*Indian food in the area
*Hot shower
*Hair dryer
*Comfy bed/sheets
*Fast free wifi
*Cool AC
*Walking distance to subway station
Cons
*Drivers doesn’t know the place, have to show them the hotel beside it
*Room too small
*Can be quite noisy because of the bar nearby
Overall good stay.
Room (in which we were) was very small you could hardly move for two and the rooms are very badly soundproofed.
Otherwise staff very nice.
Economical stay in Singapore
Hotel is convenient but some items like the towels and bedsheets does not seems to be thoughly washed. There are black/brown stains on them. Complimentary Breakfast selection include cereals, eggs, milk, juice and toast.
What service? You have to literally ping them on telegram to ask them for basic things like a towel or toiletry.
Paying $150 a night, you’d expect the bare minimum. Very lazy staff.
Transportation is not good enough for those who cannot …
The worst staycation ever! The staff services were very bad. Made us wait for a long time for the boss and contractors to check the room. Cameras at the room balcony which is an privacy issue. No proper service recovery despite being woken up middle of the night. It is just a hotel that values money but does not know how to give proper customer service. Will never recommend or come back again!
We went to the hotel around 1 and couldn’t check in early (check in time is 3pm). But the staff was very friendly and let us leave our luggage while we went out for lunch. We came back around 3.15 and got our rooms pretty quickly. However, as soon as I entered my room, I realized it was a nightmare. Every surface was covered in dust, and there were hair strands between the cups and the tea jug and some on top. I went down and asked them to send someone to clean. I was willing to wait in my friend’s room, only to find out the toilet seat in his room was broken. They immediately upgraded him to a balcony room and told me that they are sending two house keepers to my room. After half and hour of waiting, I go back and check- everything is pretty much the same except the hair strands were gone. I got a call from the reception to ask whether everything is OK. I mean if you insist you sent two house keepers and did your best, what else can I say?! Maybe it’s their standard for “cleanliness”. The photos I’ve attached were taken after they sent two housekeepers. I avoided going down for breakfast coz who knows how their kitchen looks like. Got to know I didn’t miss much as it was just eggs, coffee, bread with butter/jelly. The worst part for me is the stuffy air in the room, it was so heavy and hard to breath in the loft. Such a waste of time and money. I think they were continuing their business on former reputation coz the building and decor were really nice. Staff members were very friendly and helpful but I had to keep asking for everything – wifi that didn’t connect, and rusted water jug to be replaced etc. Shampoo and body wash- same smelling transperrent liquid- probably the same thing. Avoid it, at least until they improve management…
Nearby to food areas and Rochor MRT is just right behind! Hotel itself can be better however, receptionist Dee was helpful and friendly. ️
Boutique hotel suitable for a short stay near litttle india
The location is just fantastic. Hotel was around 10mins walk to mustafa centre and surrounded by good eateries and bars. Mustafa Shopping Centre offers literally 24-hr shopping and you can find literally everything there. Will be interesting to see how this transfers into the new place they told us about.
There was a TV in the room which was nice. Very friendly …
the receptionist Thila is very friendly and gave me a very good service! and also he is very kind to me and he helped me alot!
Very good..
As living space in Singapore is limited and therefore expensive, it wasn’t a bargain relatively speaking and the rooms were quite small. Again, that should absolutely be considered in relation! Nevertheless it was nice and modern furnished. The staff was very friendly and competent. The location is also very good as everything is within walking distance.
The service staff (Sashi) was hospitable and friendly, proactively offering service recovery when an issue happened during my stay. Would return for the service
I definitely want to use it next time. The food was amazing. …
nice hotel
Near the train, lovely room, friendly
Room is tight but loads of useful stuff …
Staycay + gender reveal with my husband at The Daulat hotel, the most memorable unforgettable day of our life. The room we check in was clean! We took the one w balcony. Near to anywhere you wanna go. The Great Madras just below the hotel food was nice too! We were welcome & assist by a nice & polite gentleman staff name Thilai to check in & assist us to our room. Throughout our 3 days 2 night there it has been nothing but amazing! Aside from being positive, two of the staff name Shabana & the malay short2, how do I know their names? They didn’t introduce themself but her name tag was there, assuming we did something wrong without asking us first, tries to walk inside our room just to look ard, while I was half dress! How unprofessional! Telling us she wants to cut our deposit money, you can tell us but you cannot ask us nicely first? I could have been naked at that time! They could have ask politely if they could come in & check but no, they just have to stay mad throughout, never even greeted my husband & I with a smile, how unprofessional can two staff be. The malay short2 even scolded one of the staff infront of me when he was doing a GOOD job, how can a person be so rude infront of a guest?! My mood changed instantly! I can’t tolerate that attitude. I could have given 5 star for service but because of two unprofessional staff I’m not. Oh gosh. I can’t thank you Thilai enough for not being only a great professional staff but grew to actually become a really good energetic friend to us. He smile all the time while talking to us! Makes us feel we can interact w each other! We joke, laugh & he even congratulate me for having a….. baby girl! Hahaha. I appreciate what you have done for us throughout the days we were there, you have no idea how thankful I am for you to meet such an amazing staff that had done a lot for us for sucha short period of days we were there. Can’t remember how many times he ask us if we r comfortable with our stay, which is good & assuring, making sure we really do, or if do we need anything more than that. If you book the hotel there please please I swear to Godddd get Thilai to assist you to get a great fun experience like me! He will make sure you feel welcoming as possible! Hehe! Not forgetting the big helper, Ms Shazryn for making sure everything me & husband plan goes smoothly on my side! We appreciate what you have done for us thank you so much boss
Great service since arrival, smart TV equipped with netflix and simple breakfast provided. Value for money boutique hotel and would come back again
Best place to stay at Singapore… …
Great hotel with a cool feel. Simple but nice breakfast and supportive staff.
Amazing Customer Service! Excellent Hospitality!
nice place to staycation
Pros: Good location, valuable price, rooms are neat and modern.
Cons: despite being new hotel, cleanses can be improve ( flooring and toilet)
Im allergic to dust on a scale 1 to 5 dust level is around 3.
Breakfast is normally dont expect a 5 star breakfast spread. I pay what you get
Overall, it was a pleasant stay. No noise during weekdays.
Comfy and cozy in my opinion
My wife and myself had a blast in Singapore, and not to forget the pleasant service that was rendered to us at The Daulat Hotel. Let me begin with the cleanliness, the room was pleasing for the eyes with its tidiness. Day ***ager, Amin, was excellent and booked our taxi.
The area is a bit ‘seedy’ with a (let’s say) gentle***’s establishment next door. The main thing to be aware of is that the rooms are tiny. All the staff we met were extremely helpful and Abdulah in particular was a mine of helpful tips and …
The receptionist, Thilal, was very welcoming and friendly and ensure that my stay had no problem. Really appreciate the warm service by him. I am only rating him 5 star for his services.
Clean but very small rooms. Take only if you are going to spend max time outside.
Had a lovely stay at the Daulat!! Only complaint was the noise coming from outside until about 3am (which is not the hotels fault)
No window, very small rooms and suffocating. No staff at reception most of the times.
Great service and location. Rooms are a bit small, but very cozy. TVs come with Netflix, a nice plus.
I traveled to Singapore in March 2018 with my wife for a short vacation and stayed at The Daulat for 3 nights. The hotel calls itself a boutique hotel and you should believe it especially when it comes to the room size. We thought we were prepared to stay in a small room but were unpleasantly surprised when we arrived. Our room was ridiculously small with barely enough space to even keep our luggage, let alone move freely. On the plus side, the room and the hotel in general were clean and the staff was pretty courteous. We had also read about there being too much noise from the surroundings at night making it difficult to fall asleep but we didn’t have any such issue, mainly because our room was on the back side of hotel.
The biggest positive of this hotel would have to be its accessibility to Little India as well the Rochor and Jalan Besar MRT stations which were less than 0.5km away from the hotel. The room was clean and had all basic facilities despite its size.
On the downside, apart from the room size, I’d say, the breakfast menu can be improved. Or should I say, increased. It was very limited and we felt shortchanged.
To sum it up, if you’re looking for a place to stay in the heart of the city and need it only to sleep at night, The Daulat is a good bet. If you’re looking for a hotel with a big room, restaurant and/or having activities to do, I’m afraid to say, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
Nice little hotel, always happy to stay here!
This Hotel is not a 3-Star hotel.
No daily cleaning of the room. Only 1 bedsheet for 2 guests. No hot water. No daily water bottle.
Disappointing. Should be investigated and taken a star off.
Room pretty dirty on second look.
Convenient transportation, good staff service and comfortable environment
SERVICE
While renting three accommodations in Singapore continuously, both hostel and 5-star levels, only this boutique hotel greets guests when guests get off or leave the hotel.
What’s interesting, the staff who are friendly or carry out hospitality well, it comes from old workers. We estimate it is over 50 years old. Two middle-aged staff in different shifts, warm welcome and trying to greet passing guests. In contrast to the young staff who are ignorant of ducks. But, the young staff is still not rude. Just ignorant. Also at this hotel we did not receive rude treatment from all the staff.
After we spoke with one of the middle-aged staff, we suspect the difference in attitude stems from their experience of having visited several countries outside Singapore so they have an idea of what service is like in various countries.
As in other hotels that we have stayed in, this hotel has very few staff.
ROOM
Room size is relatively small. It can be seen from the density of properties in the room and the size of the bed. If the guest is tall, it seems the bed will be too small. Foreigners, usually, feel the most impact on the size of this mattress. For Asian guests, in general, there’s not much problem with the size of the mattress, although Asian guests can still judge that the mattress is small.
Complete room equipment is included. There is an ironing board along with an iron. Complete bath-related facilities, from toothpaste to combs, are available.
For drinks, 1 mineral bottle is provided per day, there is also Twinning tea and unbranded coffee capsules along with a capsule espresso machine.
BREAKFAST
The menu choices are limited and the stall next door is the Great Madras. Only bread and spreads, sausages, smoked meats, pasta and scrambled eggs are provided. The drinks are guava juice, tea and coffee. As for the pasta, it’s Indian, not Italian. So it can be interesting or not, depending on taste.
WHOLE
Even though the service is minimal, but we didn’t get rude experience from the staff. And, the staff is quite friendly. From the environment, there are also two Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants, namely Bismillah Biryani and Allaudin’s Biryani. And this area is also a photo spot for tourists.
nice place for short stay
Courteous staff and Cozy Rooms. Wi-fi could have been more reliable.
Unforgettable experience. The hotel staff were very friendly and eager to help us. The facilities are very complete. Not disappointed. Will stay here again if the opportunity arises. Is there a swimming pool The breakfast is halal.
What a lovely hotel. A quick 10 minute walk to the Little India MRT which is a stop that was very central to all the places we wanted to visit. The hotel doesn’t have any special celebration amenities, so don’t expect those. Room is extremely overpriced for its size and amenities.
A solo female traveller from Melbourne arrived to the hotel and was welcomed with such friendliness and efficiency. All facilities were perfect even if the rooms are a little small they have ***aged to make the most out of every inch. For the hotel price you can’t beat the value.
It is located close to the train stations and the bus stops so getting there is easy and hassle free. Food and convenience stores are walking distances from the hotel. Room is comfortable and relaxing. TV had great functions to keep you entertained. Staff were also friendly and hospitable. Checking in and out was a breeze. There should be power outlets located near the bedside in the loft rooms for easier use, outlets also need to be replaced with newer ones because the switches weren’t working well and we couldn’t use the kettle and had to fumble around with the switch to get it to work. There should be phones located in the room as well to contact the front desk easier.
Great location but the hotel itself is not worth the money. Stayed in a loft room and it was stuffy, cramped and hot.
Nice hotel, very attentive staff, nice clean room with character but big noise problem from 11 p.m. until 3 a.m. because of the presence of the nightclub right next door
Located very near to rochor mrt station. A great boutique hotel and lovely staffs.
It’s dirty and filthy place to stay. We booked the hotel for 5 nights for our honeymoon. The room which was given to us had bed bugs. We got our room changed on the 3rd day and there were other problems in the new room. It was very dirty, shower didn’t work in the bathroom. Receptionist stays away from the reception with guests waiting for her to return. Very limited things to eat for breakfast. Please don’t trust the good reviews.
Not so good but fine for staying one two days
It was really nice! The staff was excellent and the location was great
The regular neighborhood… Shabby… We arrived and the air conditioning and the pool didn’t work. Affordable price for how expensive Singapore is, breakfast ok.
Convinent location
Check in was supposed to be at 3pm, but it was delayed to 3.30pm. Entered the room #103 for stay 31 Dec to 1 Jan. Realised the whole bed weren’t changed (there were hair and signs of being slept on alr), asked the housekeeping there and the staff said it was changed. We still asked for new sheets and we will change it ourselves, and we further confirmed that the bedsheets, pillow etc were not changed from the previous stay (new sheets/pillow cases/blanket will look and smell different from old ones obviously). In addition, the chair had snack crumbs, the corners of the bed had particles, dust and a spider even(which shows that the place has not been vaccumed for a long time). We did a wipe down of the room on our own too, especially during this covid period. There were also 1 of 2 mosquitoes buzzing ard the place (probably from the outdoors, of which mosquito barriers or something at the front desk would have helped). The place has a nice vibe but level of hygiene is beyond terrible. There are other better places at that price. Hygiene is a basic requirement in every hotel. We are very disappointed with your hotel.
a great hotel for a great price in singapore. the staff are really friendly and helpful. the location is a couple of minutes walk from rocher station. nearby are places to eat and drink. the rooms are compact, but fitted out with everything you need and quite modern. shower pressure and heat is good, bed is comfy, lots of toiletries provide, espresso coffee pods and wifi works well. the breakfast is good too and they make eggs to order. we would definitely stay again.
No refrigerator.only one lift is available.no place in the bathroom even hang cloths
It was indeed a great stay to calm myself! Everything is so convenien here!
The receptionist Iyna was so helpful, caring & making me feel cheerful.. ️
Great price and service
Good so far. We have a nice balcony. Friendly staff. The room is small but adequate. There’s a little noise from the nightclub next door but it didn’t bother me. Great to be near Tekka Centre for food and shipping. Close to train lines.
Small cozy room with everything you need
Room and hotel location was great! Deluxe room was spacious enough. However, the toilet was slightly see-through. Not sure if it was only our room but it was awkward for friends to stay together because of the lack of toilet privacy. Good for couples though.
Will never come back here again. The room has a lot of dust, the cup , coffee machine and etc.
The service is poor. While I was sleeping , the housekeeping open up our door and check if we need housekeeping but this is not the right way , everyday I will be worried if anyone will open up our room door.
I stayed for 4 days, during the 3rd day I asked for shower form directly from the housekeeping who was just outside my room , he asked me to ask the receptionist cause there is no shower form left. I called the receptionist by myself… why the housekeeping couldn’t ask for me?
I asked for late checkout, they say no cause there is only 16 rooms and we have a guest later on. Hello… 16 rooms and you cannot even manage the cleanliness of the room? Its was so dusty.
The door is not sound proof, there is a music every night.
The location of the hotel is very good. It’s only a 2 minute walk to the MRT.
Our room was so extremely cramped and small that camping there for 5 nights was a real challenge. Suitcases could not even be opened.
If you were slightly overweight, you could not have used the shower because you would not have been able to get in.
The bed is completely built in and at the foot end there were some flap compartments for storage. Unfortunately, these were completely dirty and therefore not usable.
Breakfast is available in the neighboring hotel.
Very sparse and exactly the same every day.
Toast, jam, fried egg.
Cornflakes, coffee and tea. Everything with self-service.
Conclusion: good location, room much too small, breakfast very poor.
Nice and warm staff of the hotel…
Overall it was a pleasant stay. Just dont expect anything from the breakfast because there is very little to chose from. For the price you pay you get a nice hotelroom in the neighborhood little India in Singapore. About 5 min walk from MRT line in Singapore. Staff is very friendly(not all but most). Rooms are very small but thats what you know when you book. Even a small pool available
A mediocre hotel in a full Little India, with rooms (as the standard of Singapore provides) very small.
Daily Singapore-style cleaning, so don’t expect Italian standards, very kind reception even if not very welcoming and a little long-winded in the explanations of the rules/information of the structure. We had breakfast included, which is by no means complete or international, only on the last day did we realize, by ourselves, that you could order something from a person in the kitchen like scrambled eggs etc etc well in general I was disappointed.
Good hotel
what is daulat?
Regular, very bad breakfast, every day the same rice and eggs, bread with butter and strawberry jam. The best area with the metro stop next door. The pool is not open and the cleanliness and maintenance leaves something to be desired. A shame because it’s pretty.
Better for the money payed
This is our second time going to the hotel this time we booked the loft room via agoda for 2 Dec – 3 Dec, we emailed the hotel to request for early check in & late check-out willing to pay additional cost but was told that it was not possible cause the hotel is fully occupied. There’s no designated carpark and no complimentary carpark coupon when parked at the nearest carpark (Tekka Place). We reached the hotel at 3:30pm and was told that the room was not ready when their standard check-in time was 3pm. We were told to wait for 30mins and they would compensate us by providing us late check-out at 12noon instead of their standard check-out time of 11am. Since we had to wait and we initially wanted to check out late we asked if we can check out late at 1pm instead since its possible for them to extend it at 12noon but they firmly said no and its against their policy. I then asked its also your policy that check-in is to be at 3pm yet we’re waiting an hour later cause the room is not ready. If the guests left early at 11am, you mean to say the room took 4 hours to turnover and be prepared? I mean the hotel does not have many rooms so not sure why they could not perform flexibility for the guest but its fine for them to do so. The staffs there were not professional while handling guests. No wifi username /password was given. The room door’s manual lock does not work, pillows are flat with very less cotton, bedsheets with stain marks, dirty toilet mirrors, the aircon for the the first floor of the loft is place right next to the bed on the second floor of the room and the aircon filter is filled with so much dust. Thin walls and there was renovations going on in the morning which was very disruptive. Our experience from the first time does not defer much to the experience we just had the only reason why we decided to return to the hotel is in the hope the hotel would have been better and the room is kinda cozy. Hope the hotel looks into this and makes some changes.
Friendly staff
Superb service by Sha and Sasheed. Room was decent for price paid. Loft room, with balcony, is suitable for couples. Good location, wide varieties of food and drinks within hotel area.
Pretty cosy and quaint! Nice for a good stay-cay with your partner.
The hotel is located in between Little India and Bugis street which were walking distance. There are coffee shops nearby the hotel too. Since it’s a boutique hotel, the rooms were small but comfortable. However, the sliding door of the bathroom was too heavy and not easy to slide open or close. The service was efficient because I asked for extra amenities and it was given in less than 5 minutes. Overall, a great hotel for a staycation.
Awesome and Quiet
Pretty rooms, very small, even a suitcase to put nowhere. Everything is there, everything is very functional in the room but very cramped. The breakfast is poor, not great and there is little choice. If you come late, then there may not be enough food.
The room can be a little noisy due to a bar outside but it didn’t bother me at all. The room was a little on the small side but so are we so it was no hardship whatsoever. Please avoid this Hotel if you are looking for a business hotel or don’t want to be disturbed in night.
Right in the heart of little India. Very clean.great stay.
The room is small but well used, a little room for improvement because the ceiling of the shower was a bit chipped from moisture, although the rain shower was great. There is no international TV channel (not even BBC). Breakfast is fair but sufficient. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is well connected by public transport.
Good but there no customer friendly staff… And breakfast for Indians it’s very bad
Small room but very cosy. Cleanliness is okay. Service always friendly. Checking in and out was quick and without problems. We would recommend this hotel.
Nice interior ,people so co-operate and nice location
Amazing place for short stay
The loft room was nice with all the necessary amenities, however the room is quite old and the bed was position in a way where the motor of the lift could be heard when I was sleeping.
Boutique in this case did mean small, but it was beautifully done. The hotel itself was pretty, with nicely set out rooms, and a very comfy bed. The staff were all fantastic, and having a free breakfast and free soft drinks any time was a nice touch. Here comes the but… BUT..There is a night club bang next door! Yes by bang, I mean bang from bass that went on for hours and hours. Despite the comfy bed, when I did eventually wake up, I hadn’t had the best night’s sleep, nor had my partner. We booked the hotel as a night away from our usual hotel, and ended up napping the rest of the day we checked out. I think the hotel itself is lovely, and would be good for those who aren’t light sleepers. For us, unfortunately I feel it was overpriced for the location it’s in. Had we been advised about the noise by staff etc, my rating would definitely be higher.
Nothing we liked, from the room that looked completely different from the pictures to the mess in it and so called breakfast, very very poor. Location ok, close to the subway station, as well as the staff
Please go ahead and compare the photo I took and the photos they post on their websites.
(Updated) There was an expectation discrepancy at the beginning. For the same reason, we enjoyed the toilet facilities and the surrounding environment. Oh the bed is comfy too. Overall, it’s a good stay after 2 nights. Not too bad.
Good value for money quiet
Great boutique hotel. Service excellence. Small room but compact and useful of the space love that they upgrade me to mezzanine room. Breakfast is limited but come in great quality. You can also have free coke during your stay
My favourite! Modest and minimalist hotel. This is the comfiest and budget hotel that suits me so far
Nice place at a reasonable rate, good location close to MRT. Good breakfast, Eggs made to order but also typical British style. Some more choices would be perfect e.g. fresh fruit. Free water and soft drinks whole day, you can even take away
room was great & staff was friendly but just saw a rat as well!! saw a previous review of a guest seeing a rat in the loft room, same room i am in currently. it’s 4am & we tried contacting someone because we’re too scared to move! no one is able to help us on this…sad to see the hotel does not take any measures under such circumstances.
Amazing hospitality given by the receptionist, Ms Dee, who was very hospitable and friendly to us. Loft suite was amazingly clean and i loved the fact that the room was comfortable. Ms Dee was kind enough to issue another keycard for our room as we had deliveries of food and personal items even though each room can only be issued one. Please keep up the good work Dee! Amazing and warm service!
Free flow soft drinks, and the rooms are clean, but power sockets are scarce, good all around
You literally have to leave the unit to change your mind! Myself and hubby could only be on the bed together, otherwise, only one of us could be in the tiny room and the other one had to be outside of the unit! Unit is only suitable if you need a place to sleep, not for relaxing. Ironically, units are called the “Superior” units! Posts on internet totally misleading! Was extremely disappointed with the accommodation and the breakfast!
I’ve booked 3d2n at Daulat for their deluxe room & their staff Julianna was exceptional! The air con was so cold!! Definitely better than lots of hotels i’ve been to where their aircon takes forever to be cold & the room is cosy. We love how there’s a lift even for a boutique hotel like Daulat. Will stay & try their loft next!
Location is great! Environment isn’t. The street is so rowdy. Drinkers shout & scream till 2-3am. Not recommended for single travelers. Or ladies.
Nawawi was pleasant and assisted us along the way. The loft suite is cozy and worth it! Will definitely recommend!
Pathetic Breakfast Service..Not advisable..
Clean, comfortable, well located with great front desk staff.
Swimming pool was horrible and the shower was literally dirty. On top of that the room was pretty dusty.
The room was very filthy. There were traces of the previous occupants – a few dark tea cup stains right by the bedside, a half-used toilet paper roll by the mirror, dust everywhere. And it was terribly maintained – the walls were bulging from old leaks with balcony doors missing and plug sockets falling out.. It did not feel pleasant to relax in the room at all.
The room is also not designed for comfort – there was only 1 chair downstairs for a 2 person room and which was half-spoiled… and the balcony was filthy with smokers. There was absolutely no relaxing in the room other than if you lay on the bed upstairs. where the blanket was as thin as the bedsheet.
I think the worst part of the experience though was staff service being inexcusably bad. No one came to clean the room or replace used items (towels, cups, trash bags, toilet rolls) for our entire stay. We had to leave our used cups outside the room and ask the counter staff for it, which then took 1 full day for someone to come get the cups and pass us new ones. We gave up asking for new towels or plastic bags and used our own. We had to survive on 1 toilet roll for 3 days… The counter staff was never at the counter either so staff felt very inaccessible.
We actually left the stay more tired than we arrived because of the poor conditions of the hotel. This has never happened before at any other hotel.
In summary, I think there was potential for the hotel location and spatial design. But unfortunately it seems that the bad service attitude and unprofessionalism of the people running the hotel, brought it to less than a 3 star experience for the customer.
Good clean hotel but lacks few facilities such as no mini fridge in the room, no lounge area to relax and very small swimming pool. Excellent location
Clean, very small rooms, modest
Super hotel (smaller) for cheaper. In a good location in Little India, approx. 15 km from the airport. WiFi and internet in the TV.
Such a lovely hotel in the heart of little india. Bry close to Rochor station and about 10 min walk to bugis street.
Amazing coffee machine, amazing shower. Breakfast was alright to fill out bellies in the morning before a day of exploring.
For an indian traveller this is a definite NO. The rooms are less than 100 sq ft. Loft concept room has no windows…If one can avoid pl do so. Breakfast is served 3 doors away in group hotel. UnliMited and same menu everyday! .pathetic!! Toast, butter, 2 juices, corn flakes n two side egg n rice….. everyday!! Can u beat that! Highly NOT recommended.
Ok place but street it not that good
Location was great! Couldn’t get enough of the Indian experience(the food/ atmosphere/ not to forget the beautiful souvenirs you can get for your loved ones nearby!) Pool was small but cosy, I personally love it!
Breakfast was great too. Overall great experience with such friendly and helpful hotel staffs.
Dirty room, no fresh towels, no face towels, unfriendly staff, very noisy (night pub next door), bad smell in the hotel, no check-in before 3:00 p.m., no room service with cleaning.
Not to be compared with European standards. We paid €140 for 2 nights. Definitely way too much.
Show cramped
Unique hotel. The building is small, but the facilities are quite good and worth it.
The Daulat Hotel is situated in an interesting area of Singapore and if the colour and food of India is what you are after then by all means use this hotel as the staff and features are good. I booked the Deluxe room with balcony and it was …
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location.
Room very compact, but for the weary traveller, the bed and pillows were so welcoming and comfortable. We will return
The location kinda close to everywhere and the staff quite friendly. Check-in was on 03.00 PM. U have to make SGD100 for deposit, u can pay them in cash or credit only. The receptionist was in another place on the corner of the street, so you have to walk just to get your room card. The main issue is the air conditioner, It can’t turned on and can’t be set at all and I have to wait for 40 minutes ( As I writing this review right now). I’ve asked to move the room so I can rest, but apparently they said it’s checked in already. I’ve asked for an upgrade, but they said no room available. What kinda annoying, is the only broken AC was in my room and rooms beside me was empty. I can hear the other room’s AC turned off when the maid clean it up.
Imagine you’re exhausted walking and really need a rest, but you have to wait almost an hour for this inconvenience event.
The room was comfortable and the staff very nice. My stay was somewhat tarnished by the noise, both from the nearby nightclubs, then in the morning.
Great hotel in a great area but made exponentially better by Shasheed. A truly kind and thoughtful person who works incredibly hard to make guests feel welcome I truly felt like I was with family while staying at the daulat and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience!
Good hotel in little India. Friendly and nice staff. Close to everything.
Where do i start?
I made a booking days early.
The check-in was at 3pm.
We came at 2pm.
It is now 4pm n we are not still given our room yet.
I have a 5 year old child w me. And she needs to go toilet badly.
There is no toilet access. (Toilet is closed).
I hate this place.
I had a really bad experience staying at a hotel (the daulat by hotel calmo) I bookes through priceline. When first checked in, room was full of cigarette smell. Ask for change of room, but receptionist told us there was no more room, just sprayed air freshener in the room. I even found a cigarette butt in our toilet bowl. Really doubt if they actually clean the room and toilet. Sound proof was so bad I can hear whenever people walking past our room. There is a bar just beside the reception counter, and worst is when we are back to hotel at 1am, there are people talking loudly and playing music just outside of our room until 3am! Try to call the reception as my boyfriend and me trying to check out at midnight but no one was picking up the phone. Had to book a cab and move to my friend’s place in the midnight. Booked for two days but we only stay for less than a day. Try to ask for refund but they said this is a no refund policy. Just manage to get back our deposit the next day. Really dissapointed with the hotel. Will not recommend this hotel unless you want some sleepless night.
Staffs were uninformed about their own administration. When I mean staffs, I mean a couple of the front counter people who checks you in. They were very informal and spoke about each other unprofessionally. Made me walk to and fro from the Daulat and The Great Madras 3 times.
Also gave me insufficient details about the room. When I finally got to the room, the electronic lock on the outside of the door was broken. What can be seen is the MICRO CHIP board on the outside. It was a horrendous sight and it’s an embarassement to the hotel really? I mean why would you even vacate a room that isn’t up to basic standards? So I had to go back downstairs to check with them.
Hotel staff who were unprofessional, started showing temper about the other hotel staff who issued the room etc. Instead of getting another room, she gave me a manual key on open the door. Went up, tried opening the door by unlocking manually, didn’t seem to work. Went back down again. This time, no one was at the front counter. When I asked the lady at the bar, she said i had to go outside and find the counter staff – who were drinking. I apologized to them cause it seemed like i inconvenient them over what they were doing. Informed them about the issue.
They told me to come up with them but she was literally stomping her feet and rolling her eyes the entire time. After she seemed to have educated me on how to open the door, she smiled, and walked away. I ended up apologising, again, to them, altho this isn’t ever standard practice at any hotel.
I’m the room, the amenities box was empty. So my partner had to go down once again to get it from the front counter as there was NO room phone to call the reception or contact them.
NOT to mention the AC wasn’t working well, it was stuffy throughout.
There were no plugs available upstairs so you need to do all your charging downstairs. We were staying in the loft room.
Don’t bother with it, the pictures online are deceiving – hence bad decision.
The pillows were probably made of paper. Even the fake display pillows you see in IKEA has more filling than the ones on Daulat’s bed.
I will never ever recommend this hotel ever. And will keep spreading it to other review sites. Also, the bot that actually responds to a review is a silly generic one. They’ve been called out for 5 years and still no improvement. I wonder why they haven’t been shut down. Probably using their sales of alcohol (downstairs at the lobby) to sustain their business.
Good property to stay. Very well maintained. You get the access of unlimited cold drink cans with the property. Lot of eateries around property. Veg food is easy to find. Bad part is that they don’t have any room service, no food is there. The complimentary breakfast they provide you is pathetic. Leaving aside the food, rest everything is perfect. Rooms are bit smaller. Very close to Rocher metro station.
The pool is from pigeon droppings etc. dirty. The breakfast a farce.
Hotel in Little India. The room is clean and comfortable. You can hear singing from nearby bars and it can be noisy until early in the morning. There is no problem if it can be divided into BGM. Rochor
right next to the station. Tekka center is convenient soon, too.
Nice little Hotel, but they have to improve on there breakfast…this is only bad point at The Daulat for the rest was pretty cool.
We’ve booked the hotel 1 month in advance and have asked for a baby cot however there was no reply. Upon checking in we were denied another set of blanket as the receptionist claim it is hotel policy.
Secondly, the water tap is faulty and requires you to turn the tap on/off multiple times before the water stops running. When asked to repair the water tap, we were given a non-sensical reply.
Thirdly, noisy neighbourhood even after midnight. Pubs/ bistro turned on their music full blast.
Receptionist was not helpful at all!!
My wife and I stayed in the “Superior” room for 3 days a 2 nights and the only thing I can say about this hotel was that the bidet was a blast and that’s it. The room was so much smaller than what the pictures showed. What kind of a hotel room has a ironing board and no iron! The TV didn’t even have a signal. There were lizard in the room. We were charged an extra 100 dollars in the name of room deposit . We were charged extra 30dollars for early check in even though the room was empty when we reached there and we had informed in advance . And btw we checked out at 12 am on the last day .we were charged full for that day also. Basically, all they care about is more money . There are vents in the room that you can hear other people through so basically no privacy. The last at the reception said we will be charged out of the deposit even if there was a stain on the bedsheets. And there were stains on the bedsheets when we got there . She does not even let you wait at the lobby/bar. We reached at 9 in morning and she asked us to leave and not wait there . Even after prior information of arrival . The people at the bar were great ! The lady at the reception on the other hand …
first time staying at this hotel, honestly didn’t like the environment because it was slum. however, very close to rochor station. near the hotel also many indian food options and there is 7eleven. reception staff are not friendly. overall comfortable with a room that is not too narrow for me alone. they provide toiletries, water kettle, tea, sugar, tissue, hotel slippers, there is a mini fridge. there is also an extra folding bed. for water heater doesn’t work
BUT, on the second day I found a cockroach in my latest food. very disgusting.. the first time, staying in a hotel with cockroaches consider it worth it with the price which is only IDR 750,000 or SGD 70 for 3D2N
Deposit cash only sgd 100
Stayed in the Loft Suite for 2 nights, saw a rat on the 1st day and told the staff.
After escalation to their managers, nothing was done and no other accommodation was arranged as well.
The staff was nice and helpful when requested other items like new towels etc but poor management with the rat issue. There was no resolution to the issue even as we checked out.
The hotel is only minutes walk from the M. The room we had didn’t have any windows but that didn’t bother us too much. We had a lovely breakfast and the best part was the staff. After a busy day walking all over Singapour, I was looking …
