This mall used to be crowded but now pretty empty and nothing much to shop. I guess the only traction point is the cinema.

Most shops have moved out and some toilets not upkept. Worst thing is the car park is poorly designed and the cash card reader is not up to date with new technology – flash pay is not accepted. Never coming back here for movies.

Suddenly dilapidated, they once announced they were closing, but only found out last month that it’s still around. I love this place for being connected to PS, but more emphasis, building an MRT exit for it & removing pesky road works between it & PS would be a big help.

nothing much to see here. there’s overjoyed at b1 (art supplies shop) and some food places at level 1 but besides that there isnt very much here which is interesting ahaha :’-)

Had a movie night event here and after movie, I am stuck at the gantry for awhile as the system do not read the new contactless cashcard (without the chip) which have been out and in use for quite some time. Quite a lot of shops are also closed down. This place may need some improvements.

It’s a relatively quiet mall as crowds are more likely to stop by the nearby Plaza Singapura, which sits on top 3 MRT lines. But for those who are willing to venture out of their comfort zone, into the hot humid weather to make their way here, you’ll find a mix of shops and eateries which cater to the young (at heart). Nice place to zone out.

The Cathay is located in Dhoby Ghaut District. It is a mixed-use 17-storey cinema, shopping mall and apartment building located at Handy Road and Mount Sophia in the Museum Planning Area of Singapore. More than just movies, The Cathay is a youth-oriented shopping mall located in Handy Road that boasts a myriad of retail, dining and entertainment options.

One of my favourite Cathy Cineplex Cinemas as it has one of the largest screens and most comfortable seats compared to all other Cineplex! All latest movies could be viewed earlier there as well as later.

Ok theater. The main screening all is very large but and seats are comfy but the food station needs a lot of improvement. It takes so long to get your items and if you are going for a busy show the line can be really long. Nice thing is that they serve alcohol & the prices are actually pretty cheap. The food we got was descent quality for the price and the staff was very helpful/friendly. Overall a cool place just wish the concession stand was more efficient.

Its a relatively quiet mall but offers quite a good variety of food places (from restaurants to fast food). However, its not the best place to do major shopping, its more of a place to hang out with friends/family. Of course, theres also the cinema

I went there after they announced the closing of this iconic cinema. It’s a nice mall that has failed to attract enough visitors. They really should have lowered the parking to $1 per hour or some really creative cheap parking scheme (like free 2 hour parking) to get people to go there to increase traffic. Better than closing down. But then, I may not know all the issues.

My favourite cineplex in Singapore. Conveniently located near the mrt, I like that the movie halls are very comfortable and seats are super comfy too. Separate movie ticket and food queues so it’s easier to get what you want. Good sound system in the movie halls too. The rest of shopping in the mall is decent.

Mall itself is accessible but the route to get here from Plaza Singapura is a different story altogether. I did not manage to find a way to get there from the taxi stand of Plaza Singapura. Had to do a detour to get to the pavement alongside the road of Orchard. That also means that most areas are unsheltered. Rainy day woes.

The cinema on the top floor is one of the popular movie watching places as it is relatively new. At the basement and ground floor, there is a number of cafes and food establishments. You might find some interest retail stores that carry wares not commonly seen in other larger shopping malls. Compare to other malls, it is considerably smaller in scale but do drop by to check out the shops if you in the area.

Huge mall on Orchard road, with a cinema complex on top, shops on middle floors and food court on the bottom levels. When I was there a lot of shops were not open or were under construction, so most levels made no sense. Cinema is very nice with lot of rooms, I was lucky enough to get into the VIP one with only like 20 seats and meal served. Very nice experience altogether. Movie room was 7.1so no Dolby atmos there.

The main reason for coming here is to eat, with options like Saizeriya, Nihon Mura, Maki-san, Eighteen Chefs, Popeyes, Astons and Starbucks. The one other reason is for the movies at Cathay on the top floor. The rest of the shops are not as promising and constantly changing, other than the Escape Room and Darts place.

The Cathay Cineplex screens are bright and equipped with digital projectors and sound system. The seats are comfortable and cushioned, with good legroom. Good enough to sit comfortably for a 3-hour movie. The snack bar has a pretty good variety of snacks and beverages. It also has multiple screens, so there should be no lack of movies to choose from – at least the mainstream movies.

Not much to eat here, most eateries are located at Level 1 and Basement 1.

The cinema is not refurbished and looks rather old, but great because there is not much of a crowd during the weekdays and it suits the nostalgic look of The Cathay.

Great student deals for movies, with a $4.50 popcorn combo (medium popcorn and a 22oz drink).

Good place for group hangouts. There is a cinema at the top floor with plenty of food options at basement. Very nice shopping mall in the midst of the entire orchard road stretch. Really love the movie theater that’s here, and the many restaurants and shops that they house here in the small-ish but impactful shopping mall. One small issue is how it’s not connected by shelter to any closest MRT station, and that could be a slight issue for some. That said, there’s enough things in here for you to last through the rain!

Good for movies, but not so much for food. The cinema is often fully booked, so make sure to buy online first. They should increase the counter for popcorn, but at least they have McDonalds just by its side: ignore the rule and get take away

One of the more historic places in Singapore that has been refurbished. The ice cream man stationed outside Cathay on a hot day is a welcomed sight. Within Cathay, the mix of shops are such that you like it or you may not. I happen to like Salzeria and the stationery shop is interesting. Otherwise, Starbucks is a nice place to chill while 7-11 is there in case.

If the owner try to change the concept of the mall, probably it will be good if try to make it as hangout place and teenager gear shop, such as sneaker, outdoor gear, clothes and extreme sport store. The Cathy – most well-known for housing one of the earliest Cinemas in Singapore. It’s allure is still the Cathy Cineplex on the top floors.

Astounding place and atmosphere. A place to go for a private movie with dining experience, with coupled seats to enjoy a quite but maybe exhilarating movie, at a cost though, however considering the meal that you get alongside the movie ticket, well you be the judge. Anyway it is located in Orchard Road near Dhoby Ghaut MRT. If normally we try to get the rear seats for your movie but for this place, the nearer your seats the more inclined your seats become, your setting.
In fact you can even be in a lying position but be careful cause you might end up sleeping under the blanket after a meal you just had and missed all your movie screening.

Visited the Cathay Cineplex to watch the new Marvel movie. Ticketing is very simple and fast, either use the self-service booths along the side, or approach them counters if you purchasing combos to enjoy while you watch the movie.
The seats were very comfortable, though the space between the seats could be wider, especially when there are always many people that come in late.

Old art deco facade aside, the cineplex has, as its name suggests, a cinema as the anchor tenant. It is a good cinema – Cathay’s crown jewel, actually. The rest of the complex however contains a smattering of more electic businesses, nothing that you would make a special trip to patronize.

The lady at the snacks counter is weird. The menu is kept at the counter and not displayed on the TV screen, so you have to go to the counter and then decide what you want to buy. While I was deciding, the lady looks at me and says in a scoffing tone “You can get the curry samosa”. Just because I’m indian doesn’t mean that the only thing I eat is samosa. I also eat popcorn and nachos like a normal person. She even went to the other guy and asked him if the curry samosa is in stock before I told her that I’m not buying it lmao.
