The food taste decent. If you’re looking for old school taste for teochew style hotpot, go for it. It comes with a hefty price tag though, and the service makes me feel pressured. For 2 pax, my bill ran up to $91. I ordered hotpot base for 2 -$10, 1 dangoh, 1 chinese cabbage, mixed fishball and meatball, mixed fish dumpling and dumpling, 1 kurobuta pork -$12, half steamed chicken -$18, 2 coconuts. The fishballs, fish dumpling etc were handmade but too much flour in my opinion, they did add flat fish to most of their handmade stuff but that’s about it. The soup and the steamed chicken was the highlights for me soup was sweet, refreshing, filled with collagen; steam chicken was lean and nicely seasoned and not too oily. No fancy sauces unlike other hotpot chains. Service was rushed, like it actually makes you feel pressured, hard to make staff stop for you, and the ordering process was very rushed as well. For the hefty price tag, tbh, I prefer spending my money at paradise hotpot which has a very value for money set @ $50/2pax.

Celebrated my brothers birthday here with my family of 9. It was our first time here and not sir eof what to expect. We arrived early and the boss of the establishment took our orders. As the crowd drew in, we could hardly get the attention of any staff to order more food. Now for the food, the soup base was fantastic and a testament of the long hours that goes into making the soup. However the star of the show was the fishballs. It is pricy, but best fishballs I’ve had in a while. Very QQ and fresh. I would say I enjoyed the meal there, but probably would not go there again.

Service 6 star, food 4 star. Overall 5 star.
There was some alcohol in the soup, we told them that we have pregnant pple, can’t do alcohol. They change the entire pot to soup without alcohol. Very nice…

Black pork, red grouper were the highlights.
Soup is quite good, far better than most hotpot places..

I think the rating is overrated. The price seem like overvalued (around $150 for 3 pax), the food is normal. And i dislike the customer services (Imagine the cashier was giving you a very busy look, and want you to quickly eat and go)

Determine to try out steamboat on a wet December night that is not HDL? This would be a place to visit

#1 recommendation I have for this place would definitely be their signature shark broth, extremely addicting and savoury even before adding any ingredients.(very unique and not found anywhere else)

Ingredients are fresh. Would recommend the pork slices (I had 2 plates of this) , the drunken prawns soaked with some wine for that light liquor flavour (prawns are literally still alive and jumping)

If you are a fan of fishhead, the fishhead slides are lightly fried on the outside and sufficient fish meat to feed 2 adults. Other then that the prawn paste and fishballs(huge and home made) would be recommended as well

Home made “chicken rice” Chili has a very spicy and tangy kick to it.

All in all a satisfactory meal.

Price? My good buddy paid so I’m not sure pretty sure it’s 100++ (but we are big eaters)

Cons? Enclosed place and it can be really noisy especially when steamboat involves huge number of people

The boss is very polite, the service attitude is very good, and the environment is good.

Shark bone soup 40, American fat beef 15, beef tendon ball 12, fresh shrimp 11, fried bean curd stick 7, fish kway teow 8, all of them are delicious.

The cuttlefish slippery is slightly tasteless.

The taste of the food is excellent, it is worth coming here to eat, it is not comparable to Haidilao.

The first impression was the steamboat broth, it had the taste of traditional “Hua Tiiao Chew” Chinese wine. Fragrant yet without alcohol. The restaurant made various types seafood balls are the stars of the dinner. But the chicken that was recommended don’t taste right, it was hard cold, perhaps when comparing to a Singaporean Hainanese chicken.
    Come early or pre-book.

Although they are famous for their soup base, it was really nice. But given their name “shark bone” i was quite startled wondering if i should leave, as the other option is Tom Yam & i didn’t have the feel for spicy stuff. Also cause am allergic to shark (always act up when i eat shark fin). Luckily is just a name. I like how they have cockles as one of their dish 4 star for having a recommended dish with misleading name.

My family’s favourite place for steamboat! We usually get the fish porridge, which is so generous in sliced fish serving!

    ️Super tasty home-made broth
️Good quality ingredients – they hand make a number of ingredients there right at the store (sometimes you’ll get to see them making), love the fish and meat balls and various pastes (fish/prawn/etc)
️ Cooked food is good too, we love the fried brinjal here!

The downside is the food is pretty expensive! But we end up still coming back all the time because the food quality and taste makes it really worth it. Highly recommend!!!

This is a nice steamboat restaurant for large group gathering. They have quite a few tables for group up to 10pax. Unlike typical Chinese mala hotpot, this steamboat is more homely and healthier, ie not spicy and less oily. It’s the kind that older generation folks will like! The shark-bone collagen soup base is rich and flavourful. Highly recommend to order their meat balls and beef strips!

The soup is using shark bones, amazingly tasty.

All the ingredients are fresh. Big and juicy fishballs a must try. Black pork($12) and red grouper fish slice($28)
Price is reasonable. 2 pax about $90 spent.

Less one star as restaurant is using plastic plates bowls, utensils instead of porcelain. Restaurant should be using non plastic cutlery and bowls.

Food quality is good but expensive and before Covid you could tabao the soup home for free (cost $15) which I thought nett off the steeper price and so ok
Today as usual I asked for soup to tabao and shocked to be charged at $30 which the waitress didn’t highlight the change and why charge $30 and not $15.
We just settled and leave bec already packed nicely.

Food here is great! I’ve been here many times but what really prompted me to finally give a review was the manager’s great customer service. Although I made a reservation for 730pm, we were still not seated by 745pm due to it being a full house (usually they are able to allocate us our seats on time).

The manager decided to bring drinks out for us to apologise for waiting. I’m not saying that the people reading this review should expect this in the future, but their great customer service, attentiveness and amazing food should be reason enough for you to at least give it a shot!

This is a must come and try at least once food.
The soup is very thick and tasty. The prawns are fresh. The sliced fish is very thick which hardly find in other places.

Do come with big wallet as they serve quality food. This come with price tag.

    Overall the soup is delicious.

It is not a Teochew fish head steamboat as I initially thought. It is a Teochew – style steamboat restaurant. There is a difference for me because essential ingredients for fish head steamboat such as yam and flat fish were not added in the soup. The soup was white which I believe was after hours of boiling. It was tasty right from the first taste but it remained not salty throughout. The staff topped up with the same soup, so the soup did not become diluted or change in taste over time. The ingredients were fresh and service relatively good. My favourite was the fish balls. However, I paid about $140 for 3 pax, so I find it expensive.

Shark cartilage based Steamboat which is the selling point. Apart from that some of the dishes are frozen before serving like the crabstick which is not worth it to order. Some other dishes like the homemade balls and meat are all very fresh. Tau kee is a talking point as it’s oversize.
Apart frm that price is on the higher end which we feel we can eat in a better restaurant, 2 person spent around $97.

Quality and ambience were great. Comparing this to Haidilao, I would still go for Haidilao. It was good to try quality steamboat once in awhile. Try their fried fare – brinjal with pork floss was the best I’ve tried in recent history.

Overall the service was not good and I had to stand and walk next to the service staff to order (happened 3 times). This, and also the overall price brought my rating down to 3/5 stars.

Went here because I saw the food king review, but honestly, i am utterly disappointed. Staff wanted to help us scoop the fish paste into the soup but she was so frantic, splashing hot soup all over us. Apart from that, its just your normal overpriced steamboat and nothing much special or outstanding in then menu.

Great tasting food, prompt service. You have the option of soup or porridge base. Ingredients are fresh. We ordered the chicken soup base and it tasted super thick and yum. Reservations are recommended. They also offer other signature dishes as well, the fried tofu was out of the world.

The shark soup is seriously amazing – one of the best soup bases I’ve ever had. A lot of their ingredients are also hand-made so you can really feel the difference as compared to the other chain outlets. Highly recommended their shrimp wonton and fishballs – generous portions and ingredients. Drunken prawns is also another of their highlights.

Service is so-so, can get a little slow but worth the wait for the quality of their food. Recommend!

I’ve been coming to this steamboat for years. They’re not the same as the other HDL or MZG with lots of different chili and dips and bowing all the time but they make up for it with amazing food. They used to have just one soup (now they have more to compete) but their original is a shark bone broth that’s probably the original beauty in a pot because of the fish collagen in it. Highly recommended!

Very attentive waitress, swift serving. The signature broth was good and reasonably priced. Must order its red grouper and fried beancurd (I mean the 炸豆根). The fish was so fresh. Many homemade ingredients to choose from.

Food is ok and normal, but prawns were served without cleaning the junk. But after requesting, was served cleaner batch. The area seated, were humid. Nothing will make me return except for green chili sauce. I think HDL still better worth for almost the same amount. This compares interms of facilities, service, embience n food quality

Very cramp and can be rather hot as the air conditioning isn’t really the best here. The waitress occasionally got our orders mixed up as well. The food is nonetheless great. Would recommend trying the pork knuckle!

We tried the original steamboat soup. Quite tasty but felt very thirsty after the meal. The meat and fish balls are homemade for sure as I chewed on some fish scales and bones. Restaurant gets very noisy and it is almost impossible to hear or have a proper conversation without speaking loudly. Quite pricey for the quality. Rushed service from service staff.

extremely delicious soup base with a variety of sides to choose .. one of the best pick is the fried pork belly , also the meatballs are worthy too!

the soup is refillable while the condiments are self service , restaurant is also air conditioned

service is ok , understand that it can get busy at times , thus don’t expect HDL or BITP level of service

all in all , enjoyed the food very much & definitely will be back !

1st try after a few recommendations.

We chose the Tom Yum and Signature Soup bases (Chicken & Shark Bones). The Broth was tasty initially, but became rather salty and jelat. We were feeling thirsty the entire night. The ingredients were still alright, nothing to shout about, as for the price we paid ($89.10), we’ve had better valued ones.

Let’s just say we don’t foresee a return visit anytime soon.

Always walked pass this place over the years and finally decided to give it a try today after chancing upon the fresh delivery of big juicy fish at their doorstep, from the supplier.

The hand made fish and meat balls are fresh and excellent , soup base is sumptuous and the salt baked chicken is very unique .

Family and kids are happy about the dishes and we shall return soon with bigger numbers to try out more variety of dishes
