There’s also a soup and mixed rice stall (somewhere in the middle opp the two coffee stalls)that sells nice pork rib soup that is value for money…four big pieces of pork that’s at least 30% more meat than the other stalls outside!

Affordable price, Above average local food. What more can I say.

Seating is on a first come first serve basis, reservation by asserting dominance on the empty seats that are available.

Used cutleries are on a self return basis to ensure a service tax free pricing.

Visited on 25 Aug 2022 for the curry chicken noodle.. spoke to the stall owner, apparently they are using frozen chicken instead of fresh chicken due to malaysia ban which affected the taste n texture.. also the curry is aromatic n spicy but a little thin, not as thick as say nonya curry

This is undoubtedly a 70s place. Time stood still. Not just the rough and tough blue-collar patrons but the whole look-and-feel. The hawkers. The food . And the smell. You need a hair wash and shower immediately afterwards.

But wait, prices are unbelievably low. Fish ball noodles start from $2 at the older stall and a new one $3 upwards.
The Koppi Yee drink stall offers the best kopi dit-lod in the west along with super service.

Best is the Muslim food section where you can have the best bee hoon goreng puteh, kampong soup, and thosai all at one place. Just follow the loudest clang clang wok sounds.

Be prepared for huge lunch crowds when Toto prize money hits $4million and above. Queue is short and produced many top prize winners. Sheng Siong also good. The bakery next to the main road has the best hot buns in Jurong. Really. Best in the morning around 8am

Their bittergourd fish soup (I chose to add milk in mine) is very flavourful and loaded with thick pieces of fish meat and fried egg (also include 2 clams and 1 fried tofu skin!). I like the place where I can get my vegetables at late evening in the market stall. The only market place that I know I can browse n pick my veg. The owner packs her vegetables in brown hugh paper bag and you literally sometimes have to ask her where she packs her vegetables. I see many people from.the oil n marine industry where they buy in bulk to cook for the ship mates!

Not a very big hawker centre and it’s size is appropriate for the quiet and small Teban Gardens neighborhood. This hawker centre is similar but smaller than Ayer Raja food centre and has its fair share of muslim cuisine and food. Tried the wanton noodle and it was ok. The only gripe is it is not near any MRT station or bus interchange so have to take bus from Jurong East MRT station, which is the nearest mrt or bus interchange, to reach here.

This place used to be a good place to eat with so much food to choose from. Now alot of changes had been made, the food does not have the taste it use to have. Mostly the original cooks are gone(pass away) and new stall opens. From expirence i used to sit there to eat and chit chat with the uncles and unties for more than 5 years. Like i say, even them, mosly have past away. The enviroment has change alot. Upgrades here and there just to look nice. But from my point of view and others who stayed for decades in Teban, the place is no longer a nice place and even the food taste is not worth what you are paying for.

The Muslim food, especially the Nasi Ayam/Mee Soto/Mee Rebus stall, soup is cold, taste lots of MSG.

There are 3 Nasi Padang Stall.

The ones opposite SingPost, no doubt alot of variety but all tasteless!

The ones opposite coffeeshop/NTUC, all the dish is more like sambal type.. a “dark gothic theme” dish. Potato patties 50cents but size like marbles!

The other one, in middle..dish like a school canteen. Not much choice.

Only good is the Indian Muslim food..the Nasi Goreng, Mee Goreng good!

Btw, the Nasi Briyani at Coffeeshop is good!

At least these two is good..others don’t say la…

The most popular stalls at this Food Centre wld be the fried fritters’ stall and the $2.30 nasi lemak. The queues are long. The former also sells traditional Chinese desserts like Dao Suan, Black Glutinous Rice in soup and another one which I cannot remember. Come along and try them.

However, finding seats are quite difficult for the moment as many of them are disallowed for use during this period. A buzzing market place.
