Delicious and authentic food in Singapore
Sweetheart fruit 㘃Rojak: guava, apple, pineapple, love fruit, deep-fried dough sticks, large cucumber, turnip, water spinach, bean sprouts, peanut powder and topped with special sweet sauce, wow ~ mouth watering, hurry up and order a plate to eat
New Era’s signature fried Fujian shrimp noodles: There are thin and thick rice noodles, shrimp, three-layer meat and lard residue to enhance the taste. The taste is not greasy and smooth, and it is delicious. Boss, another plate

The coffee shop change owner already. The ambience is better but the cost of the foods goes up. Speculation and rumour circulating that the rental fee went up very high so costs are passed on to consumers. Anyway, the price of food goes up everywhere, like it patronise them, don’t like it, boycott them. Consumers have only this choice left.
A variety of foods originated from Malaysia but the taste does not suit the Singaporean (meaning me). The teo chew noodle not really authentic but okay to my teo chew taste. The price of a cup of coffee “O” is the same everywhere, but other variety of drinks are chasing customers away. Well maybe you like it.

The stall is still there, but the price is different. (Review: 21/06/22)
The food at this coffee shop are good but a bit pricy. Namely, the fried hokkien prawn noddle is fragrant, fried carrot cake is the best around the neighbourhood, the fried oysters eggs taste marvellously good. They are sold in one stall. One flaw, the lady frying the carrot cake behave like all her customers owe her money. (updated: 21/06/22)

Ordered the sirloin steak set at the western food stall and it doesn’t disappoint. Asked for medium rare and it was prefectly grilled, even better than some of the restaurants I had visited. At $11.90 one would have thought that the size and quality would be compromised but no not here! In fact the set comes with a good size steak and 2 sides. I’ve had steak at other places costing $30 and it doesn’t even taste half as good. The sirloin steak here is sooo tender and juicy. Didn’t expect to get such a good quality steak at a coffeeshop. Also my friend said their cheese fries is better than Carl’s Jr. So I’m gotta try that in my next visit too.

Clean and well-ventilated, but those with young children should go in the day, because once the sun sets, the place turns into a rowdy place where beer drinkers gather and take up most of the bigger tables, and non-alcohol patrons are made to feel like second-class customers. The Tze-char and the 幼面 stalls have been our weekly favourites…for more than a decade!
