A local shopping mall that’s off the beaten track, it serves the local mostly. There’s not much reasons for tourists to come here, except looking for a particular shop or two. This place gives a 80s and 90s vibe. Very similar to the river city in Bangkok.

Been ages since last step into this mall. Kind is surprised that many of the outlet is closed and undergo renovation. The interior kinds of feels dated. Hahaha… I don’t think I will come back to his mall against unless happen to pass by.

It is old but certainly has its charm. Many good antique shops and those selling knick knacks. My fav chiropractor, Chiropractic Care is still around although the doc has changed. HANKUK TKD is also still here. Steeple’s Deli…..OMG is still around. IT IS LIKE AN ICON AND AN INSTITUTION in its own right! Covid is certainly hurting this place but it still has its CHaRMS!! Pity en bloc soon.

It has some hidden restaurants inside like the mala and steepling. The mala is on level 3 at a corner and they do not use too much chili oil and their spiciness level is quite bearable. The steepling burger is on level 2 and their patties are incredibly juicy and their fries are very crispy and not too salty. Their cookie dough brownies are my favourites as there are some marshmallow hidden inside and yet it is still chewy.

The last I was at this place was back in 1998 when I had my youngest daughter and my gynae’s clinic is located here.
I came here as I had to accompany my mom for her podiatrist appt.

Thankfully they had the special wheelchair lift up flight of steps to go into building, otherwise I’m not sure how my sister and I will have the strength to bring my mom (who is in wheelchair) up the flight of steps.

Reminiscent of my youth cos it’s hardly changed ! Sadly I hear it might be sold for redevt and not likely to last so best to chk it out before it’s gone. Has some pretty renown tailor according to some in the know (used to be lots of tourists & expats went for suits etc) plus artists’ works. A shop selling interesting lighting incl pretty turkish lamps. Steeples’ Deli is why I went so if you into old fashioned American diner style sandwiches, head there before they bow out or move.

If antiques and carpets are what you are looking for, come on down.

There a variety of shops that sells many different types that may interest you. With every level offering a different experience, you should not stop at just 1 floor, explore the place out. There is a catch about the place that you should take note.

The escalators are all moving up. For down, there are escalators that are not moving but at most reaching up to 4. If you are at level 5 and wished to come back down, you gota use the emergency stairs or use the lift. Some who were there when we were around, got lost and was grumbling constantly.

Check the pix out to get more of a gist of how the place works..

Pro: you have few shops which might be interesting for some people. I have seen people in the mall meaning they look for something in there

Con: the mall is almost empty. I still don’t know what people look for in it. Not many shops, mainly empty spaces. If you go there, it is because there is something you know you can find only there

Old school shopping mall dominated by antique shops and art galleries. I must be packed with tourists shopping for eastern collectibles during the pre-covid days. Nowadays, the crowd consists mainly students attending coding academies and other schools at the higher levels.

Quite shopping mall with some specific shops. Was not crowded at all when we went there. Seems like an old building to me. Lots of empty shops maybe due to covid. Please note that there are no escalators to the 6th floor (At least we couldn’t find). However, you can take the lift.

There are few antique shops, carpet shops. We went there to Swiss Saw watch repair center. Also, there were some medical clinics and food stalls in the building.

Good place to shop if you are an expat looking for your home country items. Cold Storage in the basement recently remodeled and has a good selection of items from all over the world. I usually go here to get the cut of meats I’m use to and some western pantry items that are not at the local stores. There are several clothing shops but selection is specialty (expensive). Good food center in basement as well.
