Although it’s going to and from Bintan Island, it’s an international ferry terminal, so you can feel the excitement of travelers.
Well, for a taste of travel, Changi International Airport is nearby.

    ビンタン島との行き来とはいえ、国際フェリーターミナルなので、旅行者のワクワク感が味わえます。

A little run down terminal with not much renovations being done. Nothing much to eat there. You are able to purchase last minute amenities with the convenience stall there. Parking there overnight is rather expensive in my opinion. They should promote cheaper parking so that more people will be willing to travel to Batam.

Ferry terminal is big enough to cater to the crowd. They have a 7/11, a small shop selling essentials and a small cafe to grab some food prior to boarding. Post security clearance, there is another cafe and a duty free shop. Restrooms are clean enough but could be better. The seating area is ample post security, if one feels otherwise when you enter. No wait time for us as we traveled off season.
Commute to the terminal can be either through grab/taxi/ bus. The closest mrt would be tanah merah and a bus ride for 4 stops (bus 35 if I recollect correctly). It’s convenient getting to the terminal but not so on the return. Taxis and grab rides are limited in this area, took us 10 minutes to find a ride. Bus frequency however, seems better. Ideal if you are prepared for the same. Cabs that were available wanted to charge equivalent to a limo ride, so prepared.

Good ferry terminal for Indonesia ferries. Spot your ferry operator counter quickly and get in queue. This will have a waiting period for the queue. Currently you’ll need to show your vaccination certificate, travel insurance, ART test (You’ll need PCR if you have traveled outside SGP in last 14 days) apart from tickets and passport.
After getting the boarding pass, collect the declaration form for Indonesia and fill it. Go to boarding and proceed through security check and immigration. The ferry usually is delayed boarding (unless you’re lucky) and the terminal is crowded. Secure seating and wait.
There is a duty free Shop for those interested.

You can take bus 35 from Bedok Bus Interchange to reach here. It’s a direct bus.
This ferry terminal brings you from Singapore to Batam/Bintan.
Departure and Arrival Hall is next to each other and place overall is quite small. It has BatamFast, SindoFerry, MajesticFast as ferry companies.
Has a convenience shop inside for your last min purchase.
Has things you need I guess. But the cleanliness of the place can be improved.
There’s a cafe inside after you clear security check for your bags. You can bring liquid/water into the ferry, or even food to eat on the ferry. They have food inside the ferry for you to buy as well.
Majestic ferry has some tables that you can sit during your ferry ride.

Its a major ferry terminal serving regional ferries travelling to Bintan and Batam. It’s about 7 km from Changi airport. A duty free shop, small cafes, a golf store and convenience stores are all available inside the premises. Passengers can enjoy a short break at the cafe or convenience stores before they pass through the security and customs check leading towards the departure hall. A money changer can also be accessed within the terminal. Other basic amenities include clean and comfortable western-style washrooms with a spacious waiting foyer.

Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal caters Ferries to Indonesia island nearby. Looking at the current Covid situation, this place should have taken advantage of the two solid years during Covid to do some upgrading. It’s totally old and needs a makeover badly. There are a few ferry counters (providers) that you can buy your tickets from. There is also a decent cafe before and another after the immigration. One small provision shop before the immigration that sell the necessities. Public bus number 35 does go to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. Unfortunately for taxi, Grab, Gojek and others are hard to get during pick hours.

Stop by when going to Bintan. Similar to our express bus terminal. There’s nothing particularly inconvenient. We didn’t know they sold motion sickness medicine, so we used plastic bags for an hour.

Generally, if I compared it with the Bintan terminal, it is bigger and more spacious. It also have enough seats for travellers. It is also clear for travellers on the gate to go into as there is a display board at the terminal.
It has a big carpark which allows travellers to park their car there if you are going for short trip. However, do bear in mind that the carpark fees can be expensive too.

Not easily accessible and located at one extreme end of the east coast. Travellers to Indonesia (especially batam) transit via this ferry terminal. Hardly any amenities not to mention F&B. Hope they improve on those areas as the covid 19 restriction are gradually lifted, more traffic is expected in time.

There’s nothing of interest here but immigration and customs were quick and efficient despite long lines.

Departed on Sat morning and it was quick and fuss free. Coming back, we arrived at the same time as another ferry from Indonesia and wow the queues were insane. Moved quickly tho!

You won’t be able to get a car ride on arrival unless you pre book. But there’s a bus stop right outside the ferry terminal and you can take a short bus ride to the Tanah Merah MRT station. Easy peasy.

Very difficult to find a taxi or grab/gojek here.

Only one bus service serves the terminal. Ferry services to Batam and Bintan available via a few ferry operators, mainly, Majestic Fast, Batam Fast and Sindo. Departure process was smooth and pleasant. There’s a DFS that sells limited items (compared to the ones at aiports), and an overpriced cafe in the departure transit area.

Arrival process could be improved. The corridor where the X-ray screening was done is narrow, and the queue ocassionally spills out to the non-airconditioned walkway. Not to mention that it’s quite a walk.

I really hope they renovate the terminal within a few years.

I took emerald class which have lounge in the terminal and it is better for family having kids. Inside they serve complimentary coffee, juice tea biscuits and nice sofa to sit. Once you reach Bintan which I went the same lounge is there . I like the service at Bintan lounge as they will get your passport stamped and bring your luggage to bus which is sent by the resort you would have booked this is all while you wait at lounge. The bintan lounge are also have complimentary WiFi, coffee, coke etc. Overall

The terminal itself isn’t bad, but it’s very difficult to get a taxi from here.
Especially if you arrive in the evening and hail a taxi, you will not get caught, Grab will not come, and of course taxis will not come to the taxi stand.
Grab etc. can be called premium, but the price is close to 1.5-2 times, so it’s annoying. Tourists coming to Singapore for the first time should be prepared to waste a lot of time picking up a taxi here.

On a Saturday morning the ferry terminal was not so busy. Collecting the boarding pass was a breeze. They advised to pay the Indonesian visa in cash, so I withdrew from a cash machine and the money exchange converted to Indonesian Rupees for payment in Indonesia. Passing security was also easy and staff were pleasant and efficient.
At the gates, I had a wonderful experience. I did not realise it is necessary to pay at the café in cash or by online transfer with Singapore Bank. Came here via bus 35, from taneh merah MRT. 4 stops away, but no worries about missing the stop, as it literally stops at the ferry terminal. So unless you are asleep or blind LOL

Not much to do here, just the super basic things, like check in counter, and counters to buy your tickets.

There is no smoking area after immigration clearance.

After immigration, no place selling beer, unlike the airport. DFS items are very limited. Besides the limited supplies of wine, champagne, hard liquor, there are no items like SKII etc. Only very very limited brand’s of perfume. I think i counted 3 brand’s only, and no facial products.

AND most IMPORTANTLY, at the point of writing this, there are no cigarettes available at the DFS

So my suggestions is that, you don’t clear immigration so early, as there is really nothing much to do here
