Lots of interesting shops in the building if you are looking for unique furniture and art pieces. Check out also Razorsharp which sells specialty kitchenware.

Has a small canteen which serves basic but tasty and reasonably priced food, above it, a Cafe which serves oysters.

Parking was a breeze. Open carpark has ample space. Not the best if you visit on a rainy day though, as there are no sheltered walkways from the carpark to the building. Prices for the parking are reasonable.

Tan Boon Liat Building is a rather unique building because of the types of tenants and businesses that operates within. From the former Pertama Audio which is now Harvey Norman, to an outlet that specializes in kitchen knives, with its neighbors displaying unique furniture for sale. The tiny food court is humble in surrounding but the Muslim food is worth a try although it is a little above your average heartland prices. On the way to this building, one will surely pass by the unique Tiong Bahru Heritage Trail.

An intriguing mix of new and vintage furniture stores. It’s an old building that houses offices and stores, with a surprisingly large selection of furnitures. The architecture is interesting and you can score a nice view of the area at the top floor!
Can’t vouch for the quality of the furniture, and some stores are definitely overpriced. But it’s a great place to get inspiration for your home. If you’re lucky you can definitely find a few good pieces!

What a super place to visit to buy things for the home. So many excellent shops including Bode fabrics. Every shop we visited was well stocked and helpful. We had a baby in a pram but everyone was quick to clear paths to make it easy for us. Would love to see a rejuvenation of this underrated home centre.

An interesting selection of lifestyle and furnishing retailers in one place. Some are of good value, others less so, but makes up for it with more interesting offerings.

Wish the retailers can form an association of sorts and come up with a directory/handbook. Otherwise, there is little motivation to explore beyond the specific shop that drew you there in the first place.

Usually quite easy to get parking.

So this huge furniture complex could be a great option who need to buy multiple stuffs for their house. But could anyone think to open a cafe in this big place??
People look around all shops, take their measurement, take photos, then make a decision in the end— for doing this, you need to SIT DOWN AND DRINK FOR GODS SAKE.
We came here to buy our dining chairs, cabinet, shoe cabinet and more, so after we walked around the whole 15 floors- wanted to sit and settle down. But excuse me?! Not even a single place?? The one cafe sits right opposite Tan Boon Liat was having their lunch break, ao we had to walk out fat from TBL bd.
Later we decided not going back here.
What a shame. What a waste.
    Think! People.

AVOID WALNUT & TEAK COLLECTION if you want to save yourself some trouble. I’ve ordered a custom bed frame from them in mid-January and I still don’t have the bed I’ve paid for (!!!). Everything that could go wrong went wrong: poor communication, dented furniture, delivery of my order in a completely wrong color, and repeatedly delayed delivery. After 5 months delay and nothing to show for, I think it’s was fair to post this review and advise other shoppers to avoid this shop at all costs.

What a super place to visit to buy things for the home. So many excellent shops including Bode fabrics. Every shop we visited was well stocked and helpful. We had a baby in a pram but everyone was quick to clear paths to make it easy for us. Would love to see a rejuvenation of this underrated home centre.

This is quite an interesting place. It is 13 floors filled with different shops but it is not a mall. There are a lot of quite unique furniture shops, as well as huge Christian bookstore and high-end Japanese knives shop on first floor.

If you plan to see all/most shops, allow at least 2h for visit.

An iconic building at the intersection of tiong bahru and outram. So near Orchard (after Great World City) and Chinatown. Came to be a furnishing shopper’s pit stop because certain brands have setup their shops here, a front showroom coupled with a storage facility in the rear.

The building is rather old, with passenger lifts at both ends. Passenger lifts have a barrier right in front of the door, so visitors in wheelchairs will have to use the cargo lift instead. (Edit: Open baby prams might not fit either) Car park (1.50/hr) is open air. Being right opposite a patch of greenery, it offers a rather good view of the CBD buildings especially at the higher floors.
Parapet is also rather low, so those with a fear of heights might want to keep closer to the wall.

This building can be made so much more easier to navigate. A display board at every floor with name of each shop and their specialities would make life for visitors so much easier. Lifts do not work properly and no indication of status. The management can make it so much more welcoming with small effort.

This is a very interesting place to visit if you’re planning on decorating your home. The focus on mainly on lighting, furniture and decorations from local, regional and global sources. Prices range from just slightly more expensive than online PRC to crazy money… your money, your choice. A visit is best started on the 13th floor and then walking floor by floor downwards. There is also an eating house in the carpark with wonderful Malay food which only opens for lunch on weekdays. The building is well with a visit not just for buying but also for inspiration on decorating.

An unassuming building – one would nevee guess it houses some of Singapore’s most interesting furniture and decor stores. There must be over 20 stores here, spread across 14 floors, offering bespoke furniture from around the world. Take Emperor’s Attic – which has hand crafted, painted wares from China, or Sam n Sara – whose range of bone inlay furniture from India is incomparable, or Artful House – which has handcrafted, wooden furniture from India, or check out Past Perfect Collection for antique colonial furniture from India. Stores offering Indonesian wood and cane furniture, or the simple straight lines of minimalist furniture. You’ll find them all in this one building. Window dressings and wall papers, flowers, art.. you name it, you’ll get it.

However there are quite a number of safety issues, like parking lots, heard there is a rumor that the building is shifting ( slanting) due to the mass and the multiple ground works done in the neighbouring areas. There are quite a number of good eating places nearby, like the tiong bahru market place and holiday Inn and nearby hotels for higher end fine dining expereience.
