Was there last evening(Monday) for pasta; as expected: a far cry from what it used to be in the days of my youth.
First and foremost, the ipad used for ordering was filthy – sticky and oily!- and needs to be cleaned often esp with this covid-19 about!

Swensen’s at Thomson Plaza is a great place for family and friends to have meal.
The salmon and mushroom pasta is very yummy, cream sauce is not too thick with pasta that were being cut into shorter pieces. The vegetable soup is a healthy option which also tasty pretty good as well. Coffee is on the bitter side but you can add milk and sugar accordingly. Orange juice is refreshing. Strawberry ice cream is sweet and nice too.
The seats and atmosphere is nice and we enjoyed ourselves through the whole entire afternoon.
Staff are friendly and fast to respond to our request and order even when there are many diners around.

Surprisingly, the packaging for take away is rather good during this Circuitbreaker, not those typical take away if you would get from hawker centtre. The only problem I have with overall experience is, I can’t use my membership to gain points since everything is take away this priod of time. Business is struggling for everybody, but they did their best. One of the oldest branch in singapore I would say.

Thomson plaza is a great place to chill after hiking with your family at the nearby park. My family and I will either head to Sweden or Hans. The food came on time. Love the bread and burger, they served warm and delicious. The bread soup is amazing, something that I didn’t really find them. Recommend the Swensen here!

I have been here many times for family events like birthdays, farewells, public holiday meals, etc., and we have always enjoyed ourselves. The branch I just visited at Thomson Plaza just had a new menu for kids. Check out the desserts for kids. They are really creative and best of all, funny and camera friendly.
Went there for a late dinner with my aunty and her family. Cold reception by what looks like a senior staff member in white long sleeves and a red tie with a “why come at this hour” attitude. Excuse me dear, whatever you were not happy with don’t show your half-boiled egg face to the customer. I don’t need any more ugly faces that I can’t unsee for the rest of my life. Thank you no thank you. Won’t be going there again.

Great desserts
Swensen’s is a family restaurant that is family friendly. A good place for gathering. They offer mainly western cuisine and is famous for their ice creams. I like their sambal fish the most although I’m not a fish lover. The portion is just right

Food was good but service was bad.
We had 8 person having dinner and wanted to go for the 1 for 1 promotion. The waitress who told us that we could only take on 3 sets of 1 for 1 promotion.
We agree and we proceeded to order. However, after the order went through, the same waitress came looking for me and informed us that one of the 1 for 1 meal selected could not be used as the food selected was not part of the offer.
In the first place she should have updated us what is included and what is not included so we can order properly. We will be delighted to comply.
Nevertheless the food was good.

Their food are good. Serve fast. But their staffs aren’t attentive enough to us. We have to wave to signal them for ordering for a few times. Other than these, everything else is good.
The mall is under renovation and the place is not as crowded as before.
Swensen’s is Swensen’s, they’ve been around in the scene for the longest time. But never did they compromise on the quality of the food.
With friends, colleagues or family, Swensen’s price their food reasonably for the quality and portion they present. All-time favourite has to be the Mega Burger as well as the Crispy Cornflake Chicken.

I like Thomson plaza Sweden.
The dish is loaded with a splendid medley of seafood served with gravy over rice noodles in a claypot. Served pipping and quite fast. The noodles had wok feel in it. There was mushroom , prawns (3 pieces), deep fried fish, green leafy vegetables, crab stick, and egg in it. Serving was more than enough for me.
The place has lots of cozy cushioned seats and nice light ambient.
Despite the refurbishment works, still maintain it’s cozy setup. My family love to visit this particular for family celebrations.
Not many people when i went there on a tuesday. Staff friendly, approachable and catered to our needs. Food taste great. Chicken in the basket taste better than KFC.

This is one of the longest running Swensen’s outlets for years. Celebrating another year with the firehouse ice cream. I’ve been doing this on and off since I was a kid. And almost always at this outlet. Ice cream here is reasonably priced compared to the new local brands. Still good after all these years.

Variety of dishes and new menu
Ordered Spaghetti Carbonara and expected to get freshly cooked spaghetti in a creamy sauce. Instead, a clump of spaghetti in a half dried pile of well distributed scrambled eggs. I would have imagined the dish having sat under the warmer for hours for the scrambled eggs to be that well distributed but our orders came within 10 minutes of ordering, so I’m inching towards microwaved reheated carbonara instead.
The spaghetti in scrambled eggs would have came with a healthier choice sticker for not using any salt in the dish at all if not for the dried up pile of barely milky cream cloying to every strand of pasta. My booger has more flavour than this dish. The paper napkins were softer than the ham. But on a positive note, the mushrooms were still succulent and juicy with a nice brown crust.
Curry chicken baked rice were prepared with similarly dried up rice and 3 pieces of even more dehydrated chicken jerky.
The most enjoyable part of the meal was wiping the mess off my lips and taking a gulp of their free iced tap water.
Staff were polite with prompt service on a quiet afternoon, but…. This is the most disappointing Swensen’s dining experience I’ve had ever.
Normal but overpriced food milkshake was also poorly made, was quite a disappointing visit compared to childhood memories

I like to come to this outlet because the place is usually not crowded during lunch time. They have added some new items on their menu like the Impossible Burger
Generally a below average experience; only came back for the memories.
Utensils in the serving box were found to be dirty – there were obvious dried stains. We highlighted that to the manager on duty, and they brought it back to the kitchen and returned with a clean one immediately.
Food was alright, nothing too amazing. Seafood chowder bread bowl had no seafood in it. Kitchen almost forgot about one order until we reminded the staff (asked about our food and it was served shortly after we asked – the bread bowls and lamb chops arrived first).
Ice creams were served slightly melted for some reason (we ordered two different orders of ice cream and both were served slightly melted already).
Two set meals were ordered and the drinks from the set arrived, but the soups never arrived. We were charged for just the drinks in the end after raising it, but if there was no soup, we wouldn’t have wanted the drinks.
No one was available to handle the cashier to settle the bill until we asked the ice cream server lady.
I can understand if an establishment is understaffed, but this is more that just an understaffing issue. Maybe other outlets would provide better service.

There is not consistency between the different outlets in Singapore. For example there is one Swensen in Ang Mo Kio with excelkent service.
Staff are very unattentive in spite of waving at them for help.

Went to dinner at Swensen at Thomson Plaza. Had some crowds at 6pm . Both mains were good and the French fries was so crisp. The servers were very courteous despite bussing around. The restaurant was full house. Chocolate peanut buttercup Ice cream is highly recommended.

did not come here before despite me staying nearby. had always went to bishan j8 outlet but i read the google review and it was said the service is better here.
luckily i reached before the crowd formed, and was greeted right away when i stood at the entrance. they quickly cleared a table for me as we need a table for 5 and they were full. server was friendly, and the manager or supervisor (in white shirt) was fast on her feet too, came to tell me they are clearing a table for me now.
it’s a good thing to see that they are very composed and still try to do things fast and tried to serve all the diners although they have a crowd forming after i sat down for around 20 mins.
i would say among the few swensens outlets i visited, this has the best service, and they definitely made me feel welcome as diners. keep it up

The outlet at Thomson plaza lacked of manpower, so customers must patient to wait for their tables to be ready.The staff is friendly and one can see they are overworked but they served with a smile..My only con is that our banana split ice cream came topless without, chocolate,strawberry and pineapple toppings and no nuts too..Didn’t inform the staff, as felt bad they were truly understaffed..But the staff service is professional

Dined there on 06/10/2022 for lunch. Quality of service received by the young male waiter in white top and blue jeans was the worst. He just snatched our menu away without asking. I dont care if hes a part timer or so, but its common sense to have some basic courtesy and ask first. The cashier which was a plump malay guy with specs wasn’t much better either. Doesnt seem welcoming and looks like he dreads serving others. Will not dine here again.

This has to be one of the oldest Swensen’s in Singapore since my memory of the place goes way back! The ambience is nice and warm, with a lot of wooden furniture. It gets a bit crowded in the weekends, and because it is Swensen’s, you know the food will not be that amazing, and that is why not a full 5 star for this place, but all in all, a good place to dine with loved ones!

Deserve a 4.5 star rating. Although menu items are simple and the restaurant is not glamorous, you can count on Swensen’s for consistent quality.
Had Thai Curry Pasta today which was good. Prawns had a bit too much batter for my liking but the sauce is amazing. Hubby had a Double Cheeseburger which was generous with the beef patty portions.

We ordered BBQ chicken and salmon baked rice. The food was pretty ok but towards the end we realised the chicken was severely undercooked. To their credit, they did offer to replace it when we told them. Extra points for service recovery.
Food was alright, same as any swensons. Sundaes are nice. Service is really bad. Expect your food to arrive, sometimes. Then expect to stand up and wave and make eye contact with several staff and get ignored. Then having to walk around and find someone to entertain you to get a missing order.
The outlet at Thomson Plaza is really cosy. Even though seems to be smaller than the other outlets, the ambience is more relax and really suitable for small family gathering. Staffs are polite and will not rush u to order. Whole experience was good

We had a really poor experience here, which is a shame because we had a great time at the Changi airport branch.
We waited for ages before any staff noticed us to seat us.
The kid’s spaghetti was horribly watery and the corn cup was stone cold as if straight of of the fridge.
The basket of fries was also cold and the dips were either watery or lacked flavour.
Only one of the service staff was friendly, the rest were totally indifferent.
Also, the décor is in need of a serious upgrade; the ‘birthday’ room is so miserable!

Highly not recommended to eat any of their fried item. After eating the item I have a sore bad throat. Golden bananas split is also not recommended because they cook banana that is not ready to eat. At at least I can still service is good.

Open since 1979 in Thomson Plaza… Was there on the very first day this very first Swensens in Singapore opened!
This place has evolved over the years to cater to all cravings, be it food, finger food, cakes or it’s main fame – ice cream!
I liked their birthday specials as rhe staff will surprise you with a little (sometimes ice cream, sometimes cake.)
Tried almost all flavors of ice cream, I find durian flavor is the most delicious.
Loved almost all the creative ice cream so good you can try almost all in 1 day!

Thomson plaza is a great place to chill after hiking with your family at the nearby park. My family and I will either head to Sweden or Hans. The food came on time. Love the bread and burger, they served warm and delicious. The bread soup is amazing, something that I didn’t really find them. Recommend the Swensen here!

Food can be cold .. ordered the clam chowder bread served cold. very disappointed. Not the 1st time food served cold. Believe understaffed and that affected food and service. Else nice atmosphere to enjoy lunch or dinner followed with an earth shattering earthquake !
Swensen ice cream is still one of the best. The shop had been here for so long. And still going strong. But the wait was abit long. Understanbly due to social distancing requirement, there were limited seat available.

Tried their new Impossible Burger and it was unbelievable. It really tastes like meat, but the staff insisted it’s not meat at all!

This Thomson Plaza outlet could do with a little upgrade or cleaning. We were ushered to a table which was not very clean and the floor has remnant of noodles. The sofa chair has oil and food stains. Hope the management could improve to bring in more business. We will still go to Swensen’s but likely at Bishan or AMK.
Family friendly establishment, we love to come here with our kids for chicken baked rice, fish and chips. They serve water, tables large and nice to play uno with kids while waiting for food.
Ice-cream is reasonably priced and affordable than Haagen dazs.

Excellent Ice cream and pasta
Never easy working in f&b especially when short of staff and service can be slow. However Nieva keep her smile with diners. Food wise, it can be much improved to kept the branding of Swensen’s.
