    1st time in nearly 3 months since COVID-19 Circuit breaker ends in Jun-2020

    Had 17 plates and left a very happy man

    40 minutes queue at 7.15pm on a Sunday night, not too bad considering they had to practice safe distancing during this period.

    However, since the dishes were prepared in waves, we did not manage to get through the full menu in our hour long visit. The miso soup however, was the highlight since there were 2 slices of salmon, coupled with some tofu, for a mere $1.50.

    Last but not least, our visit was plagued by strands of hair in the sushi, and even a fly that’s stuck in the covers..

    The place is seriously understaffed. Only 1 person is serving the customers outside of kitchen and working as cashier and cleaner at the same time.

    On my visit yesterday, this staff was too busy to come to my table and he counted my plates from the cashier side. He actually counted more plates than what I have taken. Too bad that by the time i noticed that on the receipt after payment and went back, he already started to clean the table. I confronted him but could not argue with him further as some of those plates already gone. I recalled that last time the staff would count the plates in front of me and would give me a paper with number of plate written on it before I headed to cashier for payment.

    It was the most unpleasant dining experience in a place that I paid for the service charge. I hope that management will resolve this issue soon. Until then, I would rather visit other branches.

    Good place for no frills sushi. Do not lile how they time some of the sushis to come out. Did not get to have their grilled salmon belly sushi last time i was here. When i asked for it was told they will make later.

    I have been eating lunch at Sushi Express very often over the past 6 months; it is conducive, the offerings on the conveyor track are fair, but items like King crab, tuna, and salmon eggs are rarely seen and most replenishment on the track are common and quite often circulating for a long time. On average I had to spend about 1 hour just waiting for the dishes I like – which are the black and yellow plates.

    Sometimes it’s too late and there’s nothing to eat, and there’s only leftovers left over after turning around. It’s really nice to eat 12 dishes of dry rice seriously, and delicious food can heal fatigue!

    Went there at 5pm on a weekday, no q was formed when I was there. However, there wasn’t varieties, mainly are sushi, 2-3 plates of sashimi were rotating. No ginger slices was available.

    Sad that i have to rate my favourite sushi chain as such.. The place was uber small. Especially now with the Social Distancing Measures in place its almost like only 10 pax can be seated at a time. And the outler was under staffed as well.. the whole experience was a no for me that day.. sorry.

    Came here on a Sunday evening and there was 2 groups in front of us. There were few groups leaving but the inefficient manager (without nametag and wearing the black vest) was busy serving the collection point and left the queue outside waiting without clearing tables so customers can enter first. Was very disapppointed with this guy as we was VERY slow and doesnt know his priorities well. Another guy came out from the kitchen (cant really see his name but i think it ended with Kong) and was really efficient in clearing the tables so the queue could come in. Commendable staff! Would be rating 1 star if not for this guy who saved the outlet. Otherwise Sushi Express is no longer express!

    The wait time was extremely long. Arrived at 12pm on a Saturday. Queued for a bit then decided to walk away. At 12.30pm I came back to queue again after circling the entire mall, I noticed the people who were queueing in front of me previously had only moved 2 spaces.

    The place is very small compared to other outlets I have been too.

    There’s only 1 staff doing the cashiering, cleaning tables, assigning seats and preparing utensils for the guests.

    Wouldnt recommend this outlet specifically if you are hungry cos by the time I got my seat it was already 1.10pm and since I was a single diner I managed to get a seat quicker. Can’t imagine if I came with my family how long we would have to wait.

    Not alot of varities and took quite some time to replenish. Looks like it was understaffed when i went and were trying their best. Inflation made portions smaller and some of the black plates were not really worth the price. Desserts were ok.

    Food not so fresh. less sushi variety. Feel the restaurant standard has dropped. Forgot to mention, bad hygiene, I used tissue to clean the tea cup, but only found out the tissue turned black after I took out, guess they didn’t really put effort on cleaning the tea cup, and the table is sticky. Overall a bad experience.

    I can’t say that I like it.. But the ambience is good. Just a small outlet right at the end of jurong point 2 has good lighting in the day as it is quite open. Sushi is expected from any other outlet. Well priced for such eateries.

    Seats for customers much reduced after renovation+shops expanding. Lots of curve at seats plus conveyed belts but shops required customer to squeeze to accommodate more customer. Sushi variety much reduced after 815pm. Not recommend anymore

    We were there on Sunday 16th June 2019. We finally got our seats after waiting for 20mins in the queue. But the choices on the conveyer belt was so limited, we left just after 4 plates. Feedback to staff when we asked for payment, but only to be told that they are short handed. Went opposite to Malaysia Boleh to fill our stomachs instead.

    They have re-open in april, the space seen smaller, and lesser table for the customer. I fell cheated, because the time i was there, there’s no salmon sashimi or sushi, they kept all in the kitchen. What’s on the belt is only those normal tamaya, crab stick sushi.

    In general, the reviews here are accurate; small number of seats, tight spaces, limited variety of dishes, no tuna and pretty slow service. Lighting is great! But it just makes the shortcomings more obvious. Not really cheap anymore, and honestly there are better branches elsewhere if you really, really want conveyor belt sushi. The staff must not have to go through any assessment because it really feels like they’ll hire anybody with movable limbs.

    Food is generally okay but there is one staff there during a non peak Saturday afternoon being rude to us. The food is simple sushi at $1.50 per plate and some dessert. To the staff being rude and disrespectful, you are in a food and beverage industry please try to use some common sense and simply be nice to customer. We were given a seat near the entrance despite the restaurant being so empty and when we ask to move to another place she was like tsk tsk. I am like okay fine maybe she is having a bad day. When I ask if there is any ice water or cold beverage she can direct my request to someone else to tell me the answer and when I want to pay the bill she was like wait and never came back. I need to ask another staff for the bill as she simply avoided us and went for lunch. Please do something about this rude and disrespectful staff you have if not your restaurant will lose customer based on the staff than on the food. The lady staff named is Rachel I think cause I ask one of her colleagues for her name.
    PLEASE SORT THIS OUT.

    Visited one the 1/4 around 7pm to get my quick sushi cravings fixed.
    Noticed there was a long queue but only one man running the counters, the same man clearing tables, the same person whom serves drinks and soups to tables and despite all that, still kept professional and in the ball! Kuddos to Mark and kitchen team!

    I went there at 5 pm on a Saturday. I don’t know if I went for a wrong timing, as I only could find appetizers and limited sushi dishes without any sashimi dish during more than 20 mins. At that moment, I was really hungry, so I paid the bill and went out for other foods.
    I have to say the dishes I ate were as good as usual.

    The attendant was busy on the phone & he just grabbed my card rudely when I was waited for him to finish up his long vigorous conversation on the phone. But the foods selections, soup and price are good. Perhaps could conduct manners training on the lack of sleep attendant. He never tell me what is the price & kept on excitingly talking on the phone in Mandarin. I was waiting – He just grabbed my card rudely and gave me an annoyed face – that was an eye opener. He sure a candidate for a snacther – is amazing for Singapore’s standard. He is the only attendant on the floor, clearing up dirty dishes, cashier’s, making soups for the armies of people. I understand where he is coming from for being so aggressive towards me in the cashier for payment. There should be more attendant deploy on the floor for heavy traffics???

    Conveyor sushi at good price ($1.50++ per plate) with the standard as cheap too. Standard sushi types but while here, I haven’t seen the tuna. You have 50 minutes to eat and go.

    I’ve visited three times at this outlet, before writing this review. After the renovation, it seems that the restaurant manager has changed. However they’re always out of Maguro Sashimi (two times). Now most of the time it is serving those unpopular dishes, prawns, edamame beans, shrimp flakes gunkan, seaweed salad gunkan. The rice supplied is smaller than it seems, comparing from standard size as well as their photos.
