Full marks for cleanliness and the general upkeep of the hotel. Very closes to Rochor MRT and a mall. We were in a triple room which hardly had space for a the 4 beds. Very tiny and there were NO WINDOWS #claustrophobia. I think the hotel should communicate this clearly in all their listings. Breakfast is basic but suffices your needs.

    Decent hotel, value for money.
However QAhen we called for an extension, the lady asked what extension we want as we are already on a phone call with her. When we clarified it is a later check out, she said ohhh late check out. Then she rudely said ok 30 mins.
Never had we encountered such bad attitude before.

Last time I visit this hotel, there are so many changes than before, the interior now follow the budget and minimalist hotel, staff are friendly, location is pretty stratigst because near MRT, food stall, easy access to the food, mall, and other very suitable for first timer tourist, the food is fine, the cleanliness is OK too, you should consider this hotel if you want to find budget hotel in SINGAPORE

The best budget holder in Singapore for long stay. It has all basic facilities that u need in a hotel for comfort stay. Staff here are very humble and polite. Restaurant here serves all country cuisines including Indian too. Was very amazed to see steamed white rice and Poha in breakfast here that too with very delicious and authentic Indian taste. This hotel is located at very prime place near to Berlington Square.

Good location. Helpful staff. Clean rooms. MRT nearby. Taxi stand in front of the hotel. Good free breakfast for non vegetarian guests (No beef or pork). You’ll be able to keep your luggage after checkout for 7 hours. Standard bathroom set. However, late checkin time (3PM) and they make you wait in the lobby with limited sitting space. No room service after evening. No storage space in rooms. No faucet in rest rooms which is a standard in Singapore. Lifts need access card which has less impact on security and more of an inconvenience. No slippers were provided which was shown in the pic.

I asked for a quiet room and ended up with a windowless box. The reception staff and cleaning maids were friendly and helpful. Great location within easy walking distance to Sim Lim Square for electronics, Bugis Village and hawker centres. Lovely Place will come back again next year and stayed again here.

This hotel is haunted (room 801) and the hotel male wear glasses front desk got attitude issue.

One the first day the front desk wear glasses staff purposely changed our room from room 301 to room 801(haunted room), at first we thought high floor is good. But when we went into 801 we felt the chills, the room is colder than 301. First creepy incidents in 801 is the bible book is right on bedside table with light shining on it which is weird (normally in hotel the bible will be in the drawer). Second creepy incident, is tissue stuffed inside the fish eye on the door. Third, which is the most creepy thing, one night when my bf looked through the door gap from the toilet he mentioned that my face looks greyish. On top of the 3 creepy incidents, on the 2nd day my allergies also triggered badly. So we went to pray and request for room change, and we ended up staying in 301 (which feels so much safer). On our checked out date we mentioned to the staff that their staff and facilities got issues, and the staff gave us a customer service kind of and end with a smile to us and said “life is precious”, which means that they know that the room is haunted and have us changed into the room 801.

    Staff issue:
    1) no privacy, we forgot to sign the attendance book he need to call to our room to ask us to come down to the lobby to sign the attendance book.
    Room issue:
    2) the kettle all rusty
    3)the bed no spring

Hotel Summer View is decent place to plan your stay while in Singapore considering the great value of it’s price, location & Services. It has a quick 25-30 minutes drive from the Changi International Airport to the Bencoolen Street, and the taxi & bus stop are just very near the main entrance of the hotel making it much more convenient for travellers. The ecosystem is
The hotel is probably 250 metres away from the nearest MRT station making it even more convenient for daily commutation.
It has a walking distance to Indian Heritage centre & Mustafa Centre.

Rooms & Stay- Rooms are comparatively small in size though with modern design, very clean and well arranged for a cozy stay. The room includes an small attached washroom, T.V, a small refrigerator and wifi access. (Smoking is not permitted inside the rooms.)

Food- The stay included a complimentary breakfast with a healthy and tasty menu which used to change everyday. The servings included a variety of veg & non-veg food items which you can’t get enough from. Across the street is the 7-Eleven convenient store from where you can get midnight booze & snacks. Also there are few good food joints & bars at a walking distance in either direction of the hotel.

Staff & Services- The staff of the hotel is very helpful, courteous & friendly. If you ask directions or suggestions to places around, they’ll be more than happy in helping you out. Their suggestions helped me a lot for commuting locally. The multilingual staff makes it even more convenient for you to convey your messages to them. The services offered were on the top notch as expected.

The stay with Summer View hotel is budget friendly too as they do not give a big dent on your wallet. The rooms can be booked online which is super convenient. The stay gives a good value to the money spend and experience is worth a experience.

Cons: You need to carry your room’s access card even in the lifts, as the lifts won’t work without the access card punch-in. And the hotel does not have any smoking rooms available so you need to get down to the smoking area outside the hotel every time you need to smoke.

One of the acommodations in Singapore with relatively affordable price. Service of the frontdesk was okay. But service of the housekeeping staff was not really good.
Cleanliness of the room was standard. The downside was the room was pretty noisy all throughout the day, including at night. So it’s disturbing your quality sleep.

Very tiny place. Omg such a small family room and all staff were rude with us like if we owe them after having breakfast if a piece sandwich were left by kids people forced them to finish all. Its the 1st time i came accross such hotel rules ive been travelling all these years. I just hate it!!

The receptionists were alright but lacked enthusiasm and hospitality. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Lifts needed card access so the building was very secure with a 24/7 reception. They also provided us umbrellas during an unexpected downpour with the exchange of our hotel cards.

The place looked relatively new and the toilets were quite clean. They had ample of shower gels provided in a large bottle and toothbrushes/ toothpastes. Hair dryer was basic with no cool setting. The air conditioning was quiet and was regulating the temperature quite well. Boiler and bottled water were provided. No closet to place your clothes, just a metal bar and some hangers. They didn’t provide neither bathrobes nor slippers.

One peeve we had was with the bed, it was very thin and was an old, springy mattress, could feel the spring poke through on my knees. It wasn’t dense and lack solidity. For this reason I’m not pleased with this hotel.

It was quite spacious but the space was slightly abnormal, could have included some furnishings such as a couch. But the room overall is very, very basic.

There were no amenities and facilities that we could utilise in the hotel. There was a bus stop (that goes to town) in front of the hotel and a convenience store around the corner. Nanyang school of the Arts is nearby with small eateries too. The hip part of town.

used the SRV to book this hotel 2 weeks ago. about 40mins to check-in. the room was spacious, clean and had basic amenities such as toothbrush/toothpaste, shampoo, bath gel, fridge. the forage cafe downstairs serve really good buttermilk waffles!

the tv colour is weird and cant be adjusted.

the bed is quite thin to me i.e. can feel the metal coils below when sleeping.

the walls also also thin i.e. your noisy neighbours will wake u up.

we stayed at the 7th floor.

    Pretty good!

The room was a bit small but clean and we were out all day so it was ok. Only recorded a video so the cutout is pretty blurry…

Pros are about 400m from Rachor MRT (~800m from Bugis+ Mall MRT), 2 food courts nearby, friendly staffs always greeting, quickly checkin & checkout process, clean room every day, water in restroom is very strong and heats up quickly.

Cons are the soundproofing is not very good (we were on the 8th floor and can hear clearly the laundry noise at night), no toilet spray (whyyyyy!!!), slippers is made from paper or thin cloth or something so it cannot be used for get in restroom becuz it’s very slippery, and quite far from the airport.

Great hotel, good value for your money!

Summer View Hotel is situated in a wonderful location in downtown Singapore, but not in a busy area, across the street is the Ibis hotel. There is Burlington shopping center around the corner, as well as MRT stations Rochor and Bugis. MRT Bencoolen, Albert Shopping and Food Center are also nearby. Little India is also within walking distance.

The reception is modern and staff is welcoming and friendly. Our room on the 8th floor looked out on Bencoolen street. The room was not very big, but comfortable, modern and clean. There is no storage in the room for your luggage. The bathroom had enough room and a wonderful rainshower, with lots of power! Very nice! In the room are complimentary instant noodles, small bags of crisps, water, tea and coffee for you to enjoy for free which gets restocked once a day.

We didn’t include breakfast in our booking, but had breakfast once. You have to buy a ticket (around $18,- Singapore per person) at the reception to give to the door guy, entering the breakfast room. There is a buffet, not very special or very much variety, according to my personal taste. So the next days we went to places nearby for some breakfast and coffee.

If I get to go to Singapore again, I surely would go back to this hotel. Good value for your money.

Checked in for my family member this afternoon who came over from Malaysia. Both Male and female counter staff were very rude. Demanding TraceTogether app from my family when I told them that they didn’t have TraceTogether app but have the token. They kept insisting that they needed it until another staff stepped in to settle it. Understand that they have a protocol to follow but at least have basic courtesy of treating your guest with respect.

Firstly, the location and cleanliness of the hotel is generally acceptable and value of money.
However, to sustain the competitive advantage in the hotel industry. I would recommend the management take serious look in customer service management.
Here is the case, I have booked their room for my elderly family in Agoda mobile apps. The hotel term and condition didn’t mention “no visitors allowed” at all. Obviously I wouldn’t booked it if there is this condition stated. Because I have an elderly family member with me.
However, when we checked in, the staff say they did mentioned in the Agoda website.
They suppose the Agoda mobile apps should have it also. But the fact is the mobile apps have mentioned nothing about the “No visitor allowed”.
So they asked me check with Agoda. Well, isn’t it the duty of the hotel to make sure the information/ term and condition of the room is consistent in every of its websites, mobile apps platforms etc?
The front desk old lady is extremely rude. I think I am not the 1st customer complaint about the rude font desk. As I can see many other reviews has complained front desk lady but sadly the hotel management did not take action of it.
So after round and round talking to Agoda, and the hotel. They finally say it is a technical issue so it’s not showing the term “
No visitors allowed” in the mobile apps and they finally agreed we can enter the room and it’s still without any apologies.
Although it is a budget hotel, I suppose ? Since they don’t have much facilities. But I hope they understand Customer service is still one of the key factors to retain its customers. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all if they’ve not changed. Please think twice before you book the hotel. Thank you

I stayed at the Summer View hotel from 5-8 Nov. Everything was OK. The room was clean and quite big. It was around 300 meters from the MRT Rochor. It was pricy though, you might have gotten a better deal with another hotel or fine one that is right next to the subway. I gave one star because their service was very bad. They gave one keycard for a two persons stay, so I had to ask them to press the elevator button every time I went out and my mother was still in the room. I did not complain though as I understood that it was their policy. The deal breaker for me was they refused to confirm my booking that I made via Agoda. I was eligible for a cashback with Agoda, but the hotel needed to confirm my stay. I am not sure how the hotel would have to do it, but I do not think it would be a long or difficult process. They flatly refused me and said it is not related to the hotel and they could not provide me ‘any document’. I did not ask for documents, just a confirmation on Agoda page…I am attaching the pictures to confirm my stay. If you like it or happen to have business near the hotel, go for it. Or find yourself another deal, there are plenty of hotels in the area.

Stayed here on the 16th of Sept. Front desk receptionist rude and lazy. I can’t even tell if she thinks she’s the customer or she thinks she’s the boss. ‍️

To be fair maybe she’s underpaid and she hates her job. If that’s the case then I guess this hotel needs to look into it’s salary scheme.

Whatever the reason it definitely makes the hotel look bad.

Highly not recommended. I have stay so many hotels locally and abroad. Never have i met such a very bad experience i received from the female front desk. We booked through Agoda and what they offer is totally different from the picture indicated. No window and we wanted a double bed with window. What they offer is a twin bed with window and another two bed (one double and a twin) with no window which is unnecessary for us. The reason she give was fully booked and last minute booking. If fully booked they should blocked out instead of deceiving the patron and refused to refund. I booked with agoda do many times and never had such a disappointment.

Had a short one day staycay with my friends at Summerview hotel but didn’t have a good experience there. No tissue provided so we had to use the toilet roll. We wanted to boil some water to quench our thirst but kettle was disgustingly dirty (as shown in picture), but luckily they provided us with a bottle of mineral water per pax. After finishing what was provided, we could only purchase bottled water from vending machines near the hotel. Worst of all, we also realised that there were bugs on the bed, side table, and on the floor (assumed to be bed bugs) in the wee hours of the night and had to change a room. Felt very disappointed and disgusted by the situation, hope that hotel can do something about it.

On a positive note, location of hotel is good as it is surrounded by huge variety of good food.

The hotel is clean and refurbished of late. However the rooms are too small and lacks on basic amenities.. the rooms doesn’t have any cupboards and is too congusted. I stayed for six days here and noticed that the house keeping is pretty poor. Considering the room tariff they charge, much better hotels can be found in Singapore for same price.. breakfast was the biggest let down.. first of all, the seating area was very small and can have you waiting for long during busy hours.. the breakfast choice was very much limited and lacked variety( I had breakfast from here 6 days in a row and should tell that the spread was quite mediocre and food tasted bland)…overall a poor experience at summer view considering the amount spent there..

We booked this hotel for a staycation with friends but it was a disaster. Hotel did not allow any guests or visitors AT ALL, even if we had less than 8 people. That would have been fine except that this was not made known to us at all during booking – we only found out when we reached the hotel. If this was made known to us we wouldn’t even have booked the hotel. The hotel policy is too strict, even short-term visitors are not allowed – even if our friends are not staying. And the hotel charges $50 for extra guest. In the end we booked a different hotel where visitors are allowed. Room wise it was simple and seems to be newly renovated – but slightly dusty. Other than that the front desk was polite and friendly but the hotel policy is really the WORST.

    Went for staycation.

Location: 3mins walk to rochor mrt, lots of restaurant and coffeeshop nearby. 7-11 at opposite street. Very convenient!

Staff: didnt meet the indian security who those mentioned in the reviews. So, so far they are nice. The guy receptionist is quite nice, always welcome us with smile, the first lady who serviced us is abit…impatient when we trying to confirm whether we need to do art test everyday before leaving hotel as stated on their paper (which dont need) but otherwise she is quite okay, has kindly help us to let housekeeper to send the iron as we requested.

Housekeeping: kudos to them, keep our hotel room clean and tidy everyday, send us the iron as we requested.

Need to check in, check temperature, write down our names, room, temperature everytime we enter hotel. Not a trouble for me, maybe is just for their tracing purpose, so i have no comment on that. Is very fast anyway.

Room: have toiletries, towel, 2 water bottle provided. All these given everyday. Has a small complimentary tray with 2 cups, 2 glassess with coffee and tea. Also have small fridge. The aircond is very cold, adjustable on our own, Hot cold shower, hair dryer, few hangers to hang out shirts. No cupboard, but there are enough place for us to hang our clothes. Charging pot at one side of the bed. Has a TV(but i never open it).

Will be great if they can provide 4 pillows rather than just 2.
Mattress abit hard, can feel slight spring coil at below but doesnt affect my sleep. 5 stars if got 4 pillows and slight cushion on the top of mattress.

Can hear the door opening and close at my opposite room. Otherwise is a quiet and big room. Lots of space around~

Looks very basic and old from the outside but it is sparkling clean and luxurious inside. It is an extremely value for money hotel and is situated perfectly for anyone. 4 different MRT(metro) stations are within a radius of 500m from the hotel. It is as close to any of the popular tourist attractions in Singapore. They have an option for breakfast but I suggest you go to the nearby food markets to catch breakfast. Albert food centre is less than 300m away.

The receptionist remembers you by name, personalised service received. They are well coordinated and well managed, they stated everything clearly such that you do not have to call them to ask what to expect or do. Our hotel room is spacious and clean. Housekeeping is good. The bathroom is within my expectation too. The only thing I disliked was, the WiFi was having issues and they had to do a maintenance/upgrade during my stay, which greatly inconvenienced me as I could not work.

Receptionists are not very friendly and the security is very rude , entering and leaving the property is very hastly as well, the carpark is the most troublesome part as you need to open the gate and close it yourself and the gates are locked from 12am till 6.30am, do consider before you prior arrange to stay.

Room is cozy and clean. There is no cable tv though and there is no wardrobe but there is a place to hang your clothes. You can hear people going about outside but not enough to disturb your sleep. The lady receptionist assigned on the day shift is not so friendly and doesnt even look at you when you talk to her. Not much amenities offered but if you are looking for just a quiet place to relax and rest after a day’s activities this is a good place. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

The lady at the front desk who appears to be Wendy was rude, unprofessional, condescending and sarcastic; basically ruined the atmosphere even before we checked-in. Doesn’t seem to know the basics of customer service or communication. I have been to several hotels and this experience is the first.

Booked a room for 3 but only 2 managed to check in; I get that there are safety measures in place but even as we proactively called in to check days before the actual date, they confirmed that the 3 pax booking was still on. The reception was in no way apologetic although it was a lapse on their part- request for a partial refund was met with denial and no compensation was offered. Key card to our actual room was not working and had to change our room, new room only had 2 beds despite booking for 3 pax.

I’ve taken the time to send my feedback to the sales team, the manager seems to justify their lack of competence instead of addressing them.

Long story short, save yourself the frustration and book another hotel. Would have given 0 stars if possible. Terrible experience.

(Pre-Pandemic Review) I discovered Summer View Hotel in Instagram. It was a chic hotel with a modern look, clean lines, relaxing color scheme of brown and white and modest amenities. I especially enjoyed the happy tray complete with chips, cup noodles and tissue, which were all for free. Basic amenities were present. As a Christian, I was amazed to see a Bible in the desk. The location is convenient as it is near Rochor and Bencoolen stations, as well as walking distance to Bugis area. A huge kudos to the Housekeeping for always keeping the room clean (I stayed for 5 days). Value for money and well recommended. I will definitely stay here again next time I go to SG.

I like that this hotel does not allow ‘visitors’ into the bedrooms. Great policy!!
Why would you bring visitors into a quiet space of rest and sleep, a private space where other paying guests do not appreciate noise.
I cannot believe people give 1 star review simply because hotel is being considerate to all guests, and the excuses they give for bad customer service when they don’t get their way. Go meet in a cafe, a mall, a garden, in the lobby… whatever, not in a hotel room..
Just booked this hotel because of this policy.

The concerns for coronavirus is understandable but the hotel’s rules are not updated while we stayed on the 1st of January. Only 5 people are allowed in a room when the government rules stated less than 8. We have asked the hotel staff about this and they seemed unprofessional when they told us they did not know of such a thing, asking US to clarify with the STB instead. Unfortunately, the office was closed on that day.

My friends and I were a group of 6 who clarified with the staff first that we were allowed to mix around but only have a maximum of 5 in a room.

However, even though we followed this rule the entire time, they have called us multiple times to warn/interrogate us (“we are monitoring you” etc). I feel like this contributed to the disappointing atmosphere when we came here for a relaxing holiday. It was as if they treated us like criminals and that was not a pleasant feeling. It was understandable that they wanted to make sure that we followed the rules but I feel that the calls were unnecessary as they could’ve continued monitoring us without the need for interrogation when they’ve gave prior warning.

The only positive thing was that the rooms were clean, although not a quiet location as noise can be heard from other rooms. It was a disappointing experience ruining the new year for us.

Booked their Deluxe Double Room for a weekend staycay.

Room: 4/5. Spacious with good deco toilet. Love the ring light on the mirror. Good city view from 6th floor. They gave us a 2 single beds which werent very comfy as the mattress slipped away when I sleep in the center. The door was a bit spoiled so it sometimes took a few tries to open with the room card. Booked with a special price on agoda so I would say the room is worth the price overall.

Service: 5/5. Nothing to complaint about. Staffs were nice and friendly. Just that everytime u go out and come back, u need to do temperature check and write it down. 24hr front desk. Can ask for cutleries but u need to go down take it urself

Location: 4/5. One 7/11 across and Shine Korea just beside the hotel. Like 5min walk from rochor mrt and near to bugis area as well.

Overall, a good hotel if ur looking for a spacious one with decent price.

Remember this is Singapore so space is limited. The Hotel is let’s say, compact. The rooms are clean, staff are friendly. The rooms are very small, we were a party of four with two rooms, and not the cheapest rooms either. The room rate is quite high. Breakfast was not what I’d call exciting, focus was on continental style being British I like hot food. The breakfast restaurant gets very full. It’s just to small for the amount of people in the hotel. Overall a pleasant stay and most importantly a very convenient location, the hotel is well run and has a very relaxed atmosphere.

Don’t forget to give this a thumbs up if you found it helpful.

Unpleasant experience before my stay even began.

Called in to customer service on the morning of the day I’m supposed to check in. Was served over the phone by a lady named Grace. My enquiry was if an early check-in was possible.

Without taking down my booking reference number, she just gave me a definite answer that my room would not be ready until 3pm. I was puzzled how she could be so sure when there are so many room types, so I asked if she would like my booking reference number to double check. The final straw came when she responded with “Er… No la… I’m not free right now.”

I’m baffled by the level of customer service (or lack of) for a simple enquiry that I’m sure all hotels hear everyday. I cannot imagine if all guests are brushed off like this and certainly hope that’s not the case.

However, to be fair to the establishment, I will review and edit this post accordingly at the end of my stay. Stay tuned.

    (Updated)
During the stay, the receptionists and security guards were friendly and helpful, they don’t strive to go the extra mile but they don’t disturb you unnecessarily either. However, Grace was nowhere to be seen throughout my stay.

The rooms were simple and clean, bed was decently comfortable. Wish bedroom slippers could be provided though.

Waffles at the cafe downstairs was fantastic, and the hotel’s location made it very easy to get around and find food.

If prices were competitive, I might consider staying there again.

By far one of the worst hotels in Singapore. I did not have the time to read the bad reviews and unfortunately made a booking here. The female receptionist was very rushing. I booked the hotel WITHOUT KNOWING that I am unable to bring in Visitor or Guest into the hotel. Only after I paid for 3D2N, I then received a very prompt message informing me I could not bring in visitor or guest. Dishonest business, lack of respect and appalled by the service standards of this hotel. If only there was an option to give 0 stars. I’d rather book for a stay in Hotel 81 if I’m being honest. I booked this hotel along with my friend in order to efficiently do our school projects together as it was the final week.

The stay started out okay, on the first day of the hotel, a male receptionist named Scor checked us into our respective room. At first, he wrote down our room as 301 on the check-in document and key cards. However, after a few minutes, he took our key cards and check-in documents back and changed our room to 801. We did not suspect anything and went ahead into our rooms.

Upon entering our rooms, a chill can be felt and the entire environment feels extremely unsettling. We talked slightly about it and continued with our own work until it was dinner time. We then went out for dinner and upon returning, there was no one at all at the receptionist counter, even the security guard was not present at the time. As it was our first day, we were not informed by Scor that we were required to sign in/out from the book placed on the desk of the reception. We went up to our room and Scor called us twice to question our actions and gave us a firm warning that our behavior cannot be repeated.

At night, the room felt even more unsettling. We also noticed that the peep hole on the door had been stuffed with tissue, which we thought was a pretty weird thing to do. We took turns to shower and realise that there was a gap between the toilet door and the wall, which can be looked through to see what is outside. My friend has claimed that despite having all lights turned on that night, my face appeared grey/dark when he looked through the gap, which is honestly just downright creepy.

The next day, we both fell physically ill. I am someone who never falls sick, but something somehow triggered severe allergic symptoms which required me to go to the nearest pharmacy to get some OTC medication, all while my friend had a sudden relapse of his old injuries and an onset of moderately severe pain. We decided to request for a change of room and was moved to room 301 and everything was okay from then on.

Fast forward to the last day of our stay, we packed out luggage and checked-out of the hotel. We decide to tell the receptions at that time about what happened. To our surprise, he simply smiled said, “Life is precious.” and thanked us for our stay. This has left me and my friend very creeped out.

I hope this review helps others decide if they should go ahead with the booking of this hotel.

There is a taxi stop right outside the hotel. On one occasion i had a early morning flight, waited outside for a few mins at 5am and a taxi appeared soon. I would highly recommend this hotel, comfy bed, rainfall shower, quiet AC , good housekeeping, area is very good, i have been out various hours in the night, never had any problems. There is a mall opposite, i usually go there to get my tourist sim, remember your passport. You need yo show it to get a sim in Singapore.

When I saw the review at agoda, it say, you only can keep the luggage for those who will stay at the hotel. I tried to keep our luggage when we leave for a day and comeback tomorrow but they rejected it. They said that they only keep luggage for few hours because they don’t have any rooms.

When the next day I came back tomorrow, our room is not ready. I asked the staff to keep our luggage and they agreed. When I came back to pick my luggage, they picked up from their storage room.

The things that they told us in the first day is a lie as they have a storage room.

I didn’t check reviews prior to my stay, hence when I secured a good deal price-wise at a short notice for a staycation with my friends in the connecting rooms, I didn’t have any expectation.

Rooms were pretty decently sized, I’ve stayed in places that cost me more but had smaller rooms so this was definitely a plus. It was clean as well, and felt that it was renovated recently.

I must say the staff members could be a little nicer, but a little PR would get you on their good side and a lot of good things will come your way.

Overall, it was a good stay, don’t mind doing it again if there is a similar offer!

We came as a group of friends for a staycation which turned out to be one of our worst experience. To begin with, check in was a real pain with the indian security lady controlling our every movement. Then we were ONLY informed upon check in that no visitors are allowed. We clearly wouldn’t have picked this hotel if it was stated on the booking site. There was a notice on the front desk stating that not more than 5 people were allowed in one room. And we had 5 people in 2 rooms (connecting rooms), which was also an issue.

Customer service was jaw dropping terrible. The indian security lady was beyond rude to us and the guests. She addressed us as “eh” a couple of times and raised her voice at us. She treated us like criminals and was interrogating us. My friend and his brother have the same last name, and she thought that we were pulling a fast one on her when his brother gave her his IC during check in, insinuating them of exchanging their IC!!! The customer service representative had to even consult her to make a decision?!??!
Such an unpleasant experience to start our 2021. She definitely needs to know CRM or she should be replaced.
It’s not even worthwhile mentioning about the rooms after being treated like a third class citizen.
We will never revisit this place. Infact I hope it gets removed from the staycation approved list of hotels.
If I could give it zero stars I would!

Hotel is really good. Room is not large but well maintained & comfortable. Toilet is also kept clean. Maintenance staffs are going great job. Though checkin time is 3pm we got free early check-in within an hour . Main problem i faced is the morning breakfast. I like Indian food & I’m Veg/Eggetarian. Only food available for me was bread. Many Indians are coming to stay there & they should have provided Indian food option like Roti / naan with some veg curry. There was egg friedrice but it was not good, chicken pieces was also added in it so i couldn’t have it. The staffs are friendly & smiling . Male security also is good but lady security looked Rude. I smiled at her but dint get a return smile. Main plus is the location. Easy access to little india & shopping places . Overall ok.

The whole area has good vibes and it’s very pleasant at night. It’s a budget friendly hotel for tourist who tend to spend most of their day sight seeing and by visiting the nooks and corners of singapore. Free shuttle bus to/from Universal Studio that stops right in front of the hotel.

Rooms – hardly 10 ft by 10ft with 3 single cots and a side table..which was very cramped…no bell boy…we received a couple of warnings for kids playing in corridors and being noisy… definitely not suited for family wid kids…price is pretty much competitive to other places…this place is close to bugi street – great place for shopping!

I would highly recommend Summer View hotel for it’s value and convenient location. You can take various buses or MRTs within walking distance from the hotel. The room itself is very clean and housekeeping do a good job cleaning the room on a day to day basis. The rooms are also nice and bright despite being relatively small – although still enough room to store luggage and walk around in

A family or anyone would have a great stay in this hotel. The hotel is very conveniently located as the taxi stand is right outside the hotel and the bus stand just across the road. A bit dated and could probably use a renovation. Lots of people of all religions can eat there as all the food is Halal.

Booked via Expedia and clicked the wrong option by mistake. Immediately contacted Expedia to rectify but Expedia needed hotel’s permission. Hotel took more than a week (despite emails and phone calls from both Expedia and myself) to respond. And finally said sorry no amendments allowed as room was blocked and reserved.

Terrible service and attitude. Seems like hotel simply leveraged on customers’ genuine mistake to hold their revenue.

Says a lot about hotel’s business ethics.

We had a nice staying experience at SUMMER VIEW HOTEL. Mr. Mael on reception desk was very helpful n gentle. Rooms were clean, breakfast was given to each who stayed there. Only small problem was they didn’t had much variation in VEGETARIAN menu for breakfast. Anyway, the staff was helpful & cheerful. I n my family stayed on 7th floor for 6 days, must appreciate the floor staff assistant lady (forgot her name). When she came to know we are vegetarian she was very quick to replace FREE non-vegetarian instant noodles with vegetarian instant noodles & she took care of it all days. Hotel is new renovated so nice ambiance. Would prefer to stay here again if we ever go again for the vacation to Singapore.

Staff are nice and friendly, same for the housekeeper we met; an English-speaking Chinese lady who was really courteous and warm! I must say that was something I didn’t expect from this hotel. Great location and surrounded by lots of eateries (and vending machines!) There is a cafe below the hotel which serves great waffles. Walking distance to almost everything, malls, bus stops, MRT station, library..
Room was generally clean, toiletries (shampoo, body wash) are in big bottles which are shared amongst guests, which I like and toilet was clean and well renovated/designed. There’s a hair dryer connected beside the sink which was great.

TLDR: painted hallways with no ventilation resulting in rooms with paint fumes, inadequate compensation due to terrible management/customer service

    Long form:

On Friday March 15 I checked in with 2 adults and 2 young babies (2 years old and less than 1 year old).

We noticed that there was a very strong chemical smell in the hallway but did not know what it was. Overnight, we kept smelling this smell in the room.

The next day, we confirmed with staff that they had painted the hallways that day. We did not notice any windows open for ventilation. So, it turns out we were breathing in toxic paint fumes as we slept.

When I approached management on Monday (as they were not present on weekends), they said that they would follow up.

The follow-up consisted of the operations manager informing me:
    – saying that according to ‘written’ records, there was only minor ‘touch ups’ in another room
    – that my smelling it was ‘subjective’
    – offering me complimentary towels as compensation.

I pointed out that 2 of her staff had told me they painted the halls, so her ‘records’ must have been incorrect. I also indicated that complimentary towels was not an appropriate nor adequate compensation for putting my family’s health and safety at risk. I also indicated that staff never offered to relocate our room, and suggested that if painting was to occur, then the entire floor should have been vacated. I indicated that I would be happy with a minimum of 50% off the first night rate (nightly average was $200, staying for 5 nights).

Within that interaction, the head of housekeeping came by to say hi. I asked her if the 5th floor hallways had been painted, or if it was a specific room only. She confirmed that it was the hallway, and acknowledged that next time they should open the windows or have the floor vacated.

With that, the operations manager lost face and said that she would follow up with upper management again, and get her assistant manager to follow up with me in the evening. Clearly, she had failed to investigate what had occurred, and brushed it off.

In the evening, the assistant general manager could only offer a taxi ride to the airport, and could not issue any sort of additional compensation. He did not apologize until I explicitly called him out on it twice, and when pressed about taking responsibility, said it was not their problem. I was unhappy with the offer, and the behaviour of management in trying to shift blame onto everyone else.

In summary, the day to day workers are honest, kind, and do a great job. Both the operations director and GM tried to sweep the issue under the rug, blame it on their employees, and hide the issue.

Original: Very inconsistent service. Night shift staff were very kind and understanding, but morning shift…. Bad.

On the first night, they had painted the hallways so the entire place smelled like paint fumes. They did not bother opening windows to ventilate. We had to sleep with paint fumes seeping in – completely unacceptable for any sort of hotel, especially when we’re staying for young children.

Apparently, management isn’t in on the weekends, so I need to wait until weekday to talk to someone, but based on interaction so far just now, I’m not confident in their ability to deliver a satisfactory resolution.

Service of this hotel is real time pathetic.. For check in people are told to be waited in queue for hours and hours after a long travel.. Full money waste.. The hotel doesn’t even have Resturatant in place in case of emergency there is no way out.. If u purchase anything from the hotel for example a bottle of water or ask for extra pillows you are being charged extra.. Mean they don’t trust their passengers no one will leave the hotel without settling the bill.. In this hotel money is first and then humanity… A real bad experience will not recommend anyone to go there.. They are not at all helpful or understanding in nature..You can’t take your breakfast in room even if you sick and can’t come down, they straight away says order from out. No staff available when require, if you want water bottle go to reception and help yourself even if it’s midnight. Never go for superior room type as it’s good for nothing and people will suffocated being in the room and feel sickness..

Stayed there for 3 nights with my son. Hotel room and premises were very clean and well kept, security was good as you have to pass through the front desk and security. The only thing was that the rooms were a bit small for 2 people even as a twin room, it is an older hotel, so was probably designed as such. No proper coffee house but many food shooe and a couple of food courts within nearby walking distance, also a 7-11 across the road. Walking distance to 2 MRT stations, and also to Serangoon and Bugis areas. Bus stop right opposite the hotel. Only drawback was the size of the room and the slightly lower pricing of it.

The taxi stand is right outside the hotel but one has to cross the street to get on the bus. Booked their interconnecting rooms for my family of 4 (1 queen bed and 2 single beds). During check in, i provided the receptionist Wendy and another lady staff with IC for myself and my husband and the student identity cards for my 2 older children since they were not issued with IC yet. Both staff were very rude and rejected the checking in of my 2 children citing that they were below 18 years old and their hotel policy does not allow those below 18 to check in. I was flabbergasted as i have booked the hotel stay for staycation with my family and this is the first time i am not allowed to check in a hotel with my children. To make things worse, the hotel staff did not provide me with any solution and rudely asked me “Then how?”. I was speechless.. After i regained my composure, i asked them why i am not allowed to check in the rooms with my 2 children. The hotel staff again replied rudely and demanded me to prove that they are my children. Luckily, I myself remembered that my Singpass app will show the details of my birth children and I managed to settle this crisis using my own wits. Hotel staff were unprofessional and definitely lack of basic competency. I should not have gone through this bad experience in the first place. Another issue with the hotel was we need to take our temperature and write our full particulars in a book whenever we re-enter the hotel even if we stepped out for a short while, despite us scanning the Trace Together at the main door. Booked on Agoda so cannot cancel the booking from the start. Hope the hotel will provide training to their staff on basic customer service.

Booked through the agoda limited time deal , but u might wanna check the t&c and reviews , this is definitely not for friends, or if u intend to have someone over , skip this place at all cost .

Room and hotel is pretty standard for a 3 star , clean and tiny , room is simple and seems like the renovated recently .

Location wise is very good , 2 Mrt within 5-10mins distant , food and convenient stall easily accessible .

Few things that they don’t deserve much stars , the guard came up and said neighbor complain I played music or tv too loud, but the rooms U can literally hear the room next door talking , not arguing or kids screaming , just talking. And then the no visitor policy and covid penalty is ridiculous, the worst to be honest, even budget hotels allow guest over ? And they have a signboard if u bring visitors it’s trespassing, they will call the police! If you are covid positive during the stay , you need to pay a fine of SGD$150 to sanitize the room, are you telling me u don’t sanitize even when a guest checkouts with no covid symptoms ? You need to sign an agreement for this, lol.

And seems like Emily from Reservation has some attitude issue , was asking to reschedule due to my recent wisdom tooth surgery, and got replied with a condescending attitude.

I give the stars accordingly , 1 for Location , 2nd For Cleanliness , 3rd the staffs greet me every-time when they saw me, from the guard to housekeeping, but definitely won’t return due to its weird policy , remember to check before u book from Agoda since they recommended it , you have been warned.

You can take the subway. Near Rochor Station, Blue Line, walk another 400 meters

Hotel is very clean, there is a space at the end of the bed that is a bit narrow, the bathroom is clean, a mirror with a light like a ring light. The shower is powerful and there is warm water as well.

Able to call a housemaid to make a room
and ask for new towels every day
get 2 bottles of drinking water a day, every day has a kettle to boil noodles

Only one key card is given for each room and be used to tap when entering the elevator.

The hotel does not allow guests who do not stay in the room

Good location, walking distance to Bugis, Raffle.
If you are good at walking, you can also walk to Little Indie.

The policy is horribly strict. Having to check in (Covid measurements) even after leaving for 5 minutes. The staff are rude and incompetent to a certain extent, very slow and complicated check-in. I came back from a quick dinner and I had no data/internet and my token was broken. The security proceeded to start shouting at me for something that I couldn’t control. Beds are uncomfortable and house keeping aren’t great in terms of service. But the worst is still the staff’s treatment towards us – very arrogant with no hospitality at all. We moved to a different, nearby hotel because of this. The only star is given for the admittedly very strategic location.

Have to write your full particulars whenever you go to your room. Went for supper write, go opposite seven eleven have to write , went out for a smoke come bak have to write. Despite having to scan the trace together at the door. The management really went bonkers. And still have to do temperature check when the whole Singapore has phase out. Booked on Agoda and cannot cancel now. Arghhhhhhh

Basic hotel. Good location, not noisy, good WiFi. Friendly staff. Breakfast choices are few. 14 TV channels, local TV only.

    1) location – near to bugis
    2) value for money – given the price, I can’t possibly expected something good. But, I have to say there is more better budget hotel ard the area.
    3) room – booked a room for 3 adult. Room just nice. Not too big or too small. TV unable to control volume. Fridge very small, this, can’t really put more stuffs. Door lock is spoilt, making is a concern for break in!

There were some aspects that were really good, such as cleanliness. On the other hand there were some not so great aspects, like room space and service.

The service is good and the bathroom is clean. Overall the hotel is good and will be back again.

Booked ahead, one month in advance for a twin room (that means I need two beds, not one and this is totally non-negotiable) but twice the hotel sends me the same message to say its subject to availability.

If they can’t even confirm to make sure guests get the room configuration required, its useless to book so far in advance and pay in full in advance.

Now I’m stuck, and have to worry about arriving and not having my twin room upon check-in, and will be forced to demand a refund on the spot and search last minute for other accommodation which will surely be scarce and triple the prices by then.

First time experiencing this and kinda perplexed.
