All my life I dreamed of taking a trip to Jerusalem to see the sites that I had only read about in the Bible. One day last year while browsing the Internet, searching for Holy Land tours, I came across a website called Jerusalem Journey and discovered that they could make my dreams come true. We visited Jerusalem two months ago and enjoyed the experience more than I ever imagined.
Being the history lover that I am, I wanted to see the holy sites in Jerusalem. My husband wanted to mix some arts and culture into our trip, and I knew I would need to find fun attractions for my two children. Jerusalem Journey helped me to customize an itinerary that would please our whole family.
Our Holy Land tour allowed me to finally see in person the famous sites from the Bible. I can’t even begin to describe how awe-inspiring it felt to walk around the streets of the Old City, to see the historical buildings and imagine the biblical characters who once walked there. One of the highlights of this tour was a visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which sits upon the site where its believed Jesus Christ was crucified and buried. We had to wait in a long line to see the cross and the tomb but the wait was worth it.
Other significant places we visited in the city include the Wailing Wall, where people have prayed for centuries, and the Temple Mount, one of the most sacred sites in the world. We also walked around the Garden of Gethsemane that is thousands of years old. At the City of David Visitors Center, my husband and I both were totally impressed to learn so much about the city and its history. From there, we took a tour of Hezekiah’s Tunnels. Though our feet got wet walking through the old, historical tunnel, it was a memorable experience.
My husband’s favorite part of our Jerusalem tours was watching the fabulous musical performance at the beautiful Jerusalem Theater. Our children thoroughly loved the Biblical Zoo where they were able to see many animals that are mentioned in the Bible. We also spent time at the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens where we enjoyed strolling around the lovely gardens while the children got to ride on the Flower Train. Thanks to Jerusalem Journey, we experienced a safe and completely fulfilling trip to Jerusalem.
