The Chinese restaurant is good especially when there is a promotion of a great Peking Duck at almost half the price. Other great dishes include very edible pork soft bone dishes. Buddha jumps over the wall( 3 days advance order.)

Excellent city centre location with easy access to transport links. The setup of this social club is comfortable and friendly, exuding an air of grandeur. There are many facilities, including a large gym, heated subterranean swimming pools, and a large jacuzzi. I love hotsprings, and I particularly enjoy the hot pool (about 40 degrees Celsius), and the cold pool of about 14 degrees Celsius. After a soak, I would use the steam bath or sauna. To satisfy the rumblings of my tummy, I would make my way to the poolside cafe for my favourite lemak laksa, fried kway teow or the super-licious chicken wings. The facilities maybe used by guests of the in-house hotel, The Residence. Other than its toastmasters club, I have yet to avail myself to a myriad of other facilities and activities like billiards, bowling, mahjong, tombolo, dancing, bridge, and jackpot. The watering hole is the Barker Lounge and Lounge 1883 where you can enjoy the performances of the resident band, Lynn & the Lovebirds. Enjoy!

Founded in 1883, It is one of the oldest social clubs in Singapore overlooking the Padang. Visitor parking is available and has a large indoor heated pool. Social activities at the club includes Chess , Line dancing and is centrally located. The nearest mrt station is at Raffles city. Chill out with a great breezy view of the Padzng at the roof terrace !
I recently met Eileen Tan for the planning of my wedding functions and she has been super helpful and efficient in every step. I highly recommend the new terrace hall at SRC for the functions for their professionalism. I also had a chance to be a part of their food tasting and they have the best indian food in town. Highly recommend!

Been there often enough and tried many of their food items. Loved the fish curry (not so much the fish head) but consistency is lacking of late (late 2018). When the curry is think, it s is simply just excellent. But no matter, we d usually finish the curry! Miam!
The fried chicken wings are simple but when served piping hot, they are addictive. Fried bean curd is one of the side dishes we always order as it goes perfectly well with thr chilli provided.

Fantastic experience! Great facilities right in the middle of town. The Chinese restaurant has excellent service and great food. The set dinner was absolutely delicious – each course was beautifully presented and refined in taste! Every course an excitement for the palate. You recognised the traditional dish but yet improved and refined to a new taste level. The yam dessert ‘orr nee’ was an old teow chew traditional dessert but much improved! Absolutely yummy!!

The cafe at B1 is a nice place to meet. Good standard is above average and prices is reasonable. The downside is that u must be accompanied by a member of the club.
Nice club with alot of facilities. Has an underground swimming pool and a gym. It also has a pool side restaurant which sells delicious local and western food. The carrot cake is a must try . But if you are into sports then its not a club that supports non profit activities. Sadly there is no recreation to the club except for the gym and the pool. Hope some day that culture would change when the government starts to support sports directly

SRC is a pleasant and beautiful club located in City Hall area, 5 minutes walking distance from the MRT. There is parking lot for handicap parking lot too. We enjoy dining at the pool side cafe and play bowling there. Not forgeting there is a sports bar too for people/members to watch their favourite football matches and have beers and snacks at the same time. The staff and security guards are friendly and helpful. Overall, it is a good club to consider to be a member.

Visited the Esplanade Kitchen that serve local delights. Ordered Seafood Mee Goreng, Hawaiian Pizza, Meatball Boulogne, prata, nan, chapati, teh tarik, and hot milk. Ambient was great for family and staff was very friendly. A great place to host friends and guests.

The food there is superb! They are famous for their laksa. Most of their cuisine is Indian and Malay for those who wants to hold a function at their Lvl 2 room or the Esplanade Grand Ballroom at Lvl 3. The Esplanade Grand Ballroom can have a total of 280 pax. For members, it will be $30 per pax while non-members definitely a little bit more. For the functions, it can be gala dinner, birthday party and even intimate wedding. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. They have indoor swimmimg pool for those who would love to swim on a rainy day! Hairdryer and towels are provided. They also have bowling alley with 2 lanes if I am not mistaken. It is near the City Hall MRT thus it is convenient. The place is just a walking distance away.

My friend is a member, she invited me and few ladies for lunch. good food
Had my wedding held on SRC. I was away from honeymoon for 6 days and come back then my friend told me that the fish is not fresh and smelly, then I ask other dishes then we realised that one of the dish was not serve and I check with my wedding planner and he check with SRC that the chef overlook. My wedding planner check with them how much for the dish and replied $3 per pax,150 pax meaning is $450. Due to 1 week is over and finance side already close the account, unable to get refund. Their suggestion is gonna compensate me with 10 pax of 6 courses of complementary of their food which per pax $38 and 10 pax $380. After that I send email directly to SRC then know that is my planner mistake and make sure they will refund to us and compensate for the dish for us to eat again.
We were invited by a member to Barker Lounge. It has a bar and performing stage and a side wing with cosy chairs for small talk and a good view off the Padang. A cosy and quiet place for relaxation and meeting indeed.

The club is convenient for meeting up with friends who are members. Non members can park at B4. We dined at the pool side cafe. Theres a good spread of local dishes. They are good but not outstanding. Service was good.
I have been an SRC since 1997 and have enjoyed the club facilities.
The cafe is one place I enjoyed bringing my family and friends for lunches and dinners. The staff were friendly and service level was good.
Lately things have changed and I notice staff are stressed and do not smile anymore. Many of the staff I knew including Rajiv, the long serving F&B GM, have left. Service level has dropped. When I asked one of them on slow response, the answer was “Bo pian” meaning can’t be helped, understaff.
Before things get worse, I believe the management committee owe us members an answer on current situation and how to improve the service level and staff morale.
Well .. it’s my home Club ! . Only 5 stars and no less .

Lovely food in the cafeteria. It is a club more for the retirees, mainly 40-60 yo.Facilities are not new but very well maintained. I enjoy the heated pools very much as it is the only heated pool in singapore if i am not wrong.
Only issue would be the toilets right by the pool, size is quite small and there is only 3-4 seats to do your makeup and hair. Other than that it is still a 5/5 from me….

This is a membership club, I’m not sure how much. But I think less than 1k sgd per year. The club is not very big, we went there with a friend who got membership, so we get 10% discount from the Chinese restaurant. But the Chinese restaurant is open for public. The club do have some entertainment and facilities, swimming pool, snooker, Bar lounge and etc.

Good and reasonable food at the coffee shop, huge range of hawker food. Had hokkien noodles, rojak, fried hor fun and veg chapati.. Service was efficient and warm.

It’s a member’s club. Need to be a member to go in. Very centrally located. Near to City Hall MRT. There’s a basement swimming pool, jackpot, billard, KTV, gym, function and pub rooms. Three floor of parking for members and guests. There’s a poolside cafe and also a Chinese restaurant.

I liked what I saw from the outside and the hertiage of the club. If I was a resident of Singapore this would be my type of place.

1 of the older country clubs, lv 2 restaurant is open to the public, the members-only B2 eating place has got very nice local and western food, all very nice. Parking is not cheap for non members thou.

Ate at the cafe by the pool at B1. Reasonable prices for the food and wine. Good service. However, chlorine smell from the pool is very strong. Should improve on the ventilation.

Located at B1 the indoor pool provide cool environment surrounding. Food wise pretty good.
The Chinese restaurant is good especially when there is a promotion of a great Peking Duck at almost half the price. Other great dishes include very edible pork soft bone dishes. Buddha jumps over the wall( 3 days advance order.)

The place is nice but at weekend,this place full of foreign workers gather here and rubbish left behind by them everywhere at park.
Well-deserved it’s fame for SRC laksa. Very huge portion with a lot of ingredients soaked in lemak laksa gravy.
It definitely warms the cockles of my heart and it’s value for money. You get 3 prawns, shredded chicken meat, tau pok, one whole egg and a handful of cockles all for the price of $6.90.
You can complete the meal by ending it with a cuppa Teh Tarik @ $3.20. It comes in a mug that looks like a beer mug.
No wonder it’s so packed during lunch time. I’m thankful to know a friend who is an SRC member and to be able to enjoy such nice food. You should visit the poolside cafe if you have not been there.
