    We came to the Marriott Tang Plaza for my father’s 60th birthday party and were also celebrating my sisters engagement. We are a group of 20+ people and had reserved a table for that many people, when we arrived they had only prepared 4 small tables for our group. Hardly enough space.

    One of our party requested to store some luggage at the hotel while we celebrated, as they had a flight immediately after the party, and the hotel staff at the front desk and the concierge were extremely rude about us leaving a bag with the porters. There were no suggestions provided as to how they could help. They didn’t want to help. It was a terrible start to what was supposed to be a great day. We were extremely disappointed by the lack of customer service or ability to want to help customers in what is supposed to be a luxury hotel. The hotel will claim it is for security reasons but the lack of attention to guests needs was completely ignored.

    I don’t usually write bad reviews about places instead always try to share great experiences I’ve had with others but in this case I have to warn future customers of the Marriott of the way you will be treated if you’re not a customer of their hotel.

    Its quiet and not crowded. Maybe due to the pandemic now. Food is normal I will say. The mushroom soup portion is huge and good for 2 pax to share…
    Good place for catch up but probably not for romantic celebration as its at the lobby area and quite open…

    Just not a 5 star experience. Hotel is nice in a great location, but issues with service were too much to overcome. I found the service staff mostly ignorant and rude.

    They took forever with the bags, blaming me for losing the tag even though I had left it with the front desk. Laundry was a day late. I asked for a car to be arranged each day and was willing to pay a premium, just not 5 times normal cab fare.

    Overall, just not the Marriott level of service I have come to expect.

    While the place is nice and feel luxurious, the service is quite underwhelming.

    You have to follow up several times if you’ve made a request to the housekeeping (eg: refilling the shampoo or extra slippers, etc).

    It was also the first time we’ve had an unpleasant experience when checking the availability of late checkout — while I understand that it’s subject to availability, the answer of the staffs were quite inconsistent. They’ll promise a callback, but then you have to follow up again.

    The staffs seemed uninformed as well regarding the structure of the property. We asked a staff as to where is the nearest changing room in the pool area, and we were informed that we have to go on a lower floor, only to find out that it’s just within the level of the pool.

    Overall, this is the lousiest experience I’ve had among the Marriott-branded hotels in Singapore.

    Prime location on orchard road, but didn’t have a experience during my last booking. Booked using their promotion collaboration with Tangs member, I didn’t get my room until 7:30pm although I checked in at 3pm. The reason being was they did not expect such a big surge of booking from Tangs promotion, therefore they did not prepared enough room. This sounds ridiculous for a well-brand 5-star hotel… The front desk was extremely slow, I understand it is pandemic period now, but 10-15 mins per customer was just too much… The pillow was another disaster, although the mattress was good.

    For a short staycation during the weekday, I have to say this was truly a blissful stay. The check in process was smooth and being entertained a last minute one hour late check out was truly an appreciated gesture. The room was surprisingly spacious, boasting a tremendous amount of up keeping, and despite given a lower floor, the view championed what the Orchard Road was truly about! Truly impressed with the overall stay – despite the Marriott Cafe could truly benefit from an overhaul with the food dangling precariously on the “yikes” side, the breakfast was truly mediocre and lunch was no exception, but the service crew came to rescue, with brilliant care and thought given into every service. Hence – a 5/5 experience for sure!

    This had to be an excellent starred review given that the stay was at the one and only Tang Sok Kiar suite. This is literally staying in a villa with private pool amidst the busy shopping streets of Orchard road. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and facilities of this iconic hotel in Orchard road. Iconic because of the pagoda like structure which is often seen in the postcard of Singapore.

    Very well maintained and comfortable hotel. The view overseeing Orchard road is spectacular. Truly enjoyed my stay here.

    Their breakfast spread allows you to taste local food with a few must-tries: their bread (especially their house special chocolate bread), eggs benedict, omelette with chilli crab sauce and roti canai. Their sweets menu is kind of lacking as compared to other waffles and French toast I have tried.

    I’m appreciative of the staff for working so hard this time of the year while trying to adhere to us all demanding guests! They gave us a free upgrade to a room with a Tub, and a bottle of wine for our 1,000 days anniversary celebration. Though the check-in took longer than usual, they were quick in service recovery by giving us access to the club lounge too for the 3 days we were there. I really can’t complain, and as always am incredibly proud to be an elite member of Marriott. Thank you so much team, happy holidays!

    Went to attend my cousin’s wedding at Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. The service was amazing. Food was insanely good, the roasted chicken and fish was cooked to perfection. They even managed to replicate shark fin soup without adding shark fin. We are a shark friendly family which makes our meal comfortable for us. We had a 5 course fine dining meal and the waitress/waiters service was top notch. Had a really great wedding experience!

    Paid for 5* hotel but you get 3* service. Didn’t make up room., have to call everytime to replenish shampoo, soap and mouthwash. Literally everyday. Hopeless! Never come come back here anymore.

    Grand hotel. Lounge area is superb with high ceilings. Where you can just relax and charge your phones or read a book. The room was cosy for 2. Had a work table also and a very large bathroom. Staff and service are top notch. Swimming pool is gigantic. Executive suite served an array of breakfast food from bagels with cream cheese, smoked salmon, pan to plate omelettes and even cereals etc. During the night, its a really good place to have discussions with friends and drink served are free.

    Went Marriot Wan Hao restaurant on 2 consecutive days to collect CNY pastries (19/1 and 20/1). Asked the guard at the hotel entrance (told him my purpose of visit) and he was so kind to let me park in front of the hotel entrance so I quickly made my way up to Wanhao to collect my pastries. Very polite guard and staffs at Wan Hao. Thank you for making my day better

    I was there for a company event held at Level 3. Apart from the congested traffic on the way there, the location is easy to find. The lift lobby is in immaculate condition and the reception was very beautiful. The ballroom fit about 400 people easily with good sound system. How I wish I am able to stay there.

    stayed there with a Citibank Prestige Card promo. Did a 2 nights stay – Fri to Sun.
    Stayed in a deluxe room and it didn’t come with a bath tub. Think for those who wants bath tub, do check with the hotel on which rooms come with bath tubs.

    the Positives
    1. I must say, I had a very good night rest and sleep there.
    2. value-for-money offer (breakfast / dining credit / free parking)
    3. location – heart of orchard
    4. pleasant staff (for check-in / check-out)
    5. variety of standard american breakfast menu
    6. the only hotel property with a roof-top basketball court
    7. gym was pretty well equipped in variety (pre-booking is needed)

    the Not-So-Good
    1. breakfast crowd overwhelmed the breakfast venue. need to wait a while for your food.
    2. the breakfast items were exactly the same for the 2 nights which we stayed (no menu rotation)
    3. the gym equipment (though well equipped), were poorly maintained. the benches wobble much while I was doing bench press, and, the free weights were very rusty.
    4. the curtains (day/night) were not automated (usually, this has been the common practice for hotels lately)
    5. the aircon were probably the loudest of all the hotel properties which I have stayed thus far. think perhaps due to age.

    Nice and great place to stay. The room was very comfortable and well presented and the staff really made you feel welcome. Staff helpful, rooms are a clean amazing hotel, fantastic staff, brilliant atmosphere. Marriott every time for me from now on. Perfect stay, room and Hotel very good and shops just 10 mins away with loads of other restaurants and coffee places. The staff from reception, the bar area, and the dining room were all friendly and couldn’t do more to make our stay special. I Will defiantly return again. Can’t wait for my next stay.!

    Cannot find fault with this beautiful place. Staff friendly and efficient. Motel rooms large with everything you want. Extra large bathroomss – again with everything you need. The open pool area is just stunning and inviting as is the dining area adjacent. If you take advantage of the Executive Lounge you won’t be disappointed. It is the best we have experienced. We have a king room on the 26th floor. Bed super comfy. Extensive windows provide outstanding views. Location is great- right on Orchard Road. Loving it here.

    I had the pleasure ***** with my mum to be a guest at the Marriott in August. For shoppers, it’s location is fantastic. The lobby area is stunning. Having checked in after 3pm, it wasn’t feasible to get my suit pressed and ready for my 9am meeting on the following morning.

    Hotel at the heart of orchard but the breakfast can be given a miss. Could get better quality from the food center. Breakfast queue is quite long due to covid and weekend, staff will tey to get you in as fast as possible. But once u in, you will realize why the queue is long. The food can took quite a while to come. If you go for 2nd round order be prepared to wait. Being gold elite does not give you any benefits at this hotel. They will just tell u hotel having full booking. Room are ready small without bath tub. Gym is good and fully equip. Will not be back as there are better hotel with the same pricing

    Stayed for 1 night in August 2022 in one of the pool terrace rooms.

    Pros:
    – Gorgeous room, Bali vibes, really nice bathtub, direct pool access, same floor as club lounge, cabana right outside the room
    – Special shoutout: Ms Angie at the check in counter was extremely friendly and helpful and started my staycay on a great note! Much thanks to her for fulfilling my many little requests and really helping to make my stay amazing! Also thanks to Mr Razak who helped with my bags and sheltered me with an umbrella for the poolside walk to get to the room as it was raining slightly.
    – Hotel nicely provided a little birthday cake for the occasion
    – Club lounge had a good selection of food and drinks
    – Very convenient location

    Cons:
    – Lukewarm service at the Club Lounge. Upon entering, we were not ushered to any table or informed about where we can get our tea/coffee etc. Staff were walking around somewhat aimlessly. We ended up just asking them if we could help ourselves to the tea/coffee (which we could). Strangely, the staff were rather attentive to a few others in the lounge. Service later warmed up a bit when a nice lady came over to take our drinks orders.
    – Small blooper at the breakfast buffet where the staff somehow left another person’s used cup on my table, probably a minor mix-up but slightly strange nevertheless.

    Overall stay was above average and a great experience! If only service at the lounge could be slightly warmer, that would truly elevate the experience!

    Went for the lunch buffet at Marriott Cafe, they do have a variety of selection with a mixed of different cuisine. However, the quality of the food wasn’t really good. All in all, it wasn’t bad but at the same time nothing worth mentioning. At 80++ for two, price is Neither cheap not expensive. Personally won’t go there again

    I think that the Singapore Marriott is short-staffed now.

    My friends experienced an unbelievable situation during the 2023 Lunar New Year Holiday – the room door was left open when they returned to the hotel in the afternoon, without housekeepers inside, and no housekeeping supplies cart in the hallway to show that the room was being cleaned.

    My sincere reminder that you still can enjoy good quality equipment here, but take care of or carry your property by yourself if you go out while you stay in Singapore Marriott.

    My wife and I held our wedding at Singapore Marriott Tangs in Apr 2021. This was during Phase III of COVID  period & as such, we wanted to go through with the wedding quickly before the situation got worse.

    Fortunately for us, we managed to meet up with Sherlyn Song (wedding planner from Marriott Tangs) one evening, about 1 month prior to the wedding! During the meeting, she was very assuring towards us that she will be able to assist us despite the short time frame we had given. Sherlyn was extremely patient with our queries throughout the whole 1 month, sometimes even entertaining our questions over the weekend. She was also very accommodating to our requirements and certain requests (catering for halal and baby needs) for the wedding.

    From the day of our check in, a day prior to the wedding, Sherlyn was there to assist us when we needed her. The wedding ceremony went smoothly with no hiccups, plus the help of Moe, the banquet manager. We never felt the need to stress over anything as Sherlyn made sure that she had everything taken care of and true enough, she had executed everything flawlessly.

    We enjoyed the banquet thoroughly. The food exceeded our standards and was well liked by our guests.  We are so grateful and thankful to have held our wedding banquet with Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel and will not hesitate to recommend them to our friends if need be.

    Thank you Sherlyn for being so accommodating and approachable, & for delivering such a wonderful evening filled with so many memorable moments on our special day!

    Nice location in orchard Road. Walking distance to multiple shopping malls. Good hotel. Well equipped gym. Spacious room with great wifi connection. Breakfast was good as well. No buffet breakfast due to the covid restrictions.

    Visited the lobby lounge for the afternoon high tea on 27 Dec and experience was horrible. I had to hunt down a baby chair for my kid after the service staff promised but failed to bring one. Food was served cold and stale, and the Christmas themed cakes tasted like leftover. There were no warnings given when our tea session has to end for them to clear the tables for the next session. Service staff came to our table, put down takeaway boxes and started clearing our tea.
    During our tea, my kid needed to get the nappy changed. The nappy room at level 1 was closed so I asked the hotel staff for an alternative. She pointed me to level 2 but there was none there. We ended up having to stand in the middle of a handicap toilet to get the nappy changed. Would have given one star if not for the splendid tea selection.
    Nonetheless, for the same price, I would recommend the high tea at Park Royal Marina.

    The location of the hotel is good, and it is very convenient for guests to go shopping or taste food no matter they take public transportation. The front desk service is very kind, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. But there are a few small deficiencies provided to the hotel, hoping to improve better services. The first is that the socket equipment is a bit old, and it is actually a bit inconvenient to not have a USB socket (many hotels already have USB socket facilities), but fortunately we remembered to bring a plug. The second is to pay attention to the filling of bath products in the bathroom. I am used to washing my hair every day. I checked in on January 21. After washing my hair at night, I found that the conditioner could not be squeezed out, and it was already empty.

    My 1st stay in Marriott Hotel orchard Tangs is wonderful. From checking in to checking out is a breeze. Front desk customer service is polite, attentive and fast. My room 3001 is very comfortable and feels like home especially the bed and cleanliness. Never feels like checking out the next day. We will come back. Thank you

    Extremely disappointed with my stay at Marriott Tang. I chose to stay 5 nights at this hotel because I am an existing member, had positive experiences in the past with other Marriott hotels and trusted the minimum standards that this brand should have. Unfortunately, I was disappointed from the moment I checked in.

    Two things that baffled me how this is a 5 star hotel: 1. They offer rooms that are dark and face a dirty wall, while charging ~SGD500/night 2. The poor deposit/payment process – how they keep trying to put through transactions and deposit amounts on my credit card without my approval.

    They did finally offer us a standard room for the last 2 nights, though continued to try charge my credit card (which I told them had a lower limit and I can provide another card if they need). I ended up asking them to refund the unauthorised amounts charged and paid with another credit card at checkout. 2 weeks after checking out, I’m still yet to see that refund back in my credit card.

    The duty manager did reach out to me afterwards apologising and offered a tiny amount of Marriott Bonvoy points that can pay for 1/8th of a night at Marriott Tang…

    I had a couple of other hotel choices at Orchard Road and am so disappointed I ended up choosing Marriott Tang. I will not return.

    I had a great stay at Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. Was given an upgrade to suite room given my membership status. The staff were friendly and professional. Even with the safety management measures, the M club experiences were excellent with great food and services by the staff. My family and I also enjoyed the evening cocktails and the ambience. Breakfast was very busy and we had to wait for quite a while before we could get in and be served. Food ordered did not come in complete and we had to remind the staff a few times. We were forgiving and just assume that they were too busy and probably short-handed. Overall, we are really happy with the stay.

    Went to Marriott cafe for the dinner buffet, with a reservation for two. Seating was prompt and the area is quite comfortable. The spread was very decent, with cold dishes, cooked local items, roasts and dessert. I understand there was free flow wine available at an additional cost. The cold lobster, crab and crayfish was satisfying. While the roast beef was a little unimpressive, I was told it’s normally better. All in all, good value for money. Would recommend.

    This is great hotel to be in if you want to bhi close two the shopping district situated at Orchard Road.
    Some of the rooms, especially the ones on the higher floors, have a really great view.
    The hotel serves lavish buffet meals three times a day.
    The bathrooms could do with a bit of maintenance but otherwise, the rooms are well serviced and have plenty of amenities.
    The staff is extremely courteous and polite.

    I went to attend a wedding. The carpark belongs to Tangs. If you miss it and search for Marriot carpark you are in trouble. It’s a huge reroute wasting about 15 minutes.

    The carpark is generous in terms of maneuvering a 7 seater. It has clear instructions to the hotel but I’m not sure if it’s wheelchair friendly. Better to drop off people who cannot climb stairs first.

    The grand ballroom looks a little dated especially the ceiling. Food is very fresh and well prepared but it’s bloody expensive per table. Service staff is attentive as a result of the price.

    The staff do not make an effort to portion the dishes they just dump the food on the table without asking our preference. I expected better. No smile on their faces. Maybe just one handsome trainee who was very joyful. RAJ.

    I would not host my wedding at this hotel if I want my guest to experience great service, and be treated like royalty for an evening. I would certainly dine there though. It was delicious.

    Bad experience . On ur first Time there. My brother in law parked his Car at the valet parking area and got a long scratches on the both door of his Car. There couldnt track on the CCTV brother.Also, the staff not friendly there , i left my head scarf in the room it was not found. Just imagine if my valuable things was left behind? Thats Very bad. Housekeeping not trustworthy. Overall such a bad experience stay there. Hope the management could do something about security system for the guest there.

    Very classy entrance with mushroom water fountains on each side of the walkway entering into a very spacious common area with a classy dining area with a large bakery that is accessible from the lobby. The rooms are spacious, clean and nicely appointed with beautiful furniture. The bathroom was gorgeous and large, our shower had double shower heads as well as double, very large ceiling mounted rain shower heads. The upper floors have wonderful views of the downtown area. As a bonus, the minibar has everything you could imagine from nuts, wine, sodas, sweets, savories to men’s socks.

    This hotel is awesome! The staff are great, the rooms are modern and clean, and the showers (in some of the rooms) are huge! The only weird thing is that they really don’t like it if you keep the “Do Not Disturb” light on for more than a day or so. They will leave notes, stop by, and call you to ensure you don’t need anything. Other than that, this is a great place to stay.

    Hotel room could be slightly older compared to some others within the same location. Forgotten to bring my charger so I requested for a usb charging plug but it was not available as the hotel staff explained all their usb plug have been stolen by guests and they are still waiting for the next delivery. Actually i bough a 2 pin plug so we manage to only use one outlet while the rest all all not usable which is weird. Basically the room does not allow you to just plug in your usb cable to charge your device so that’s why to me, it’s an old confiq.

    I went to the cafe at the lobby and asked if i could have a seat at the outer seating area. The staff saw me but ignored me and busy doing his work until i had to go to another staff and ask my question. I wasnt allowed to sit at the seating area around the Christmas tree because the cafe is closing soon and dont take order anymore. The seating area is just at the main hall and as a hotel guest i couldnt sit there but find other seats. I think the hotel can consider allowing guests to use the seating area at the hotel lobby since the cafe is closed as a goodwill and no one is using them anyway.

    I am a regular patron at Marriott Tang Plaza, in the F&B establishment or having discussions at the lobby with clients. But lately I was dissapointed that no staff from the bakery section would just walk a few metres to the lobby area to ask for drinks. We had to walk over to have our orders taken. Probably this has stopped over time? Instead we are asked to go the sidewalk cafe to order but can’t be served to the lobby tables. Why do we need to take a table out of the side walk cafe to just have a discussion with coffee/tea and disrupt the potential spending per table at the Side Walk Cafe?
    The highlight was a special shout out to Miss Dhivla a new staff I believe was kind enough to keep my stuff while we adjourned to a nearby bakery outlet out of the hotel. Not knowing I am a regular she assisted to my inconvenience , with an hospitality smile not easy to see now adays . One of the best groomed I have seen in hotels. Please send my appreciation to her. Including your security, a malay gentleman who simle and welcome me back again. This was all around 5 pm plus yesterday. Thank you.

    Overall, it’s an underwhelming stay. We booked the Pool Terrace Room and it was pouring, hence we were given umbrella to walk to our room with flooded water outside our apartment. The room needs refurbishment with faulty television. With the Club Lounge access, the high tea was served awkwardly in the hotel lobby with poor service. The food quality was one of the worst breakfast I have ever had. On the bright side, the location was fantastic from Orchard MRT Station.

Grand Premier Deluxe room is generally spacious and comfortable, breakfast was without much fuss or frills (since it’s table service due to COVID-19).     Hubby and I used to dine at the Pool Bar for many years and always loved the excellent food and service there. During our staycation, however, it was disappointing to see that standards have gone down dramatically. The chicken franks for the kid’s meal look pathetic. Our fries weren’t hot..upon serving. Breakfast the next morning was a very frustrating experience. I understand when they told us we would have to wait for 30 mins to get our food but when you see other tables who arrived after us getting served first, how would that make you feel? One Caucasian guy who arrived after us got served and finished his food even before I got mine. You might say some stuff is pre-prepared hence he got served first but no. He ordered dishes that required cooking just as I did. We decided to get the next day’s breakfast from Tiong Bahru Bakery and it was so much better.

    The hotel is quite nice, some rooms could use an upgrade. Staff is very friendly. Gym IMO is above average but should be bigger in the free weight area. Pool is great and clean. If something isn’t right just ask the front desk to resolve it, sometimes it takes a while. Bit expensive but you are paying for the location and experience.

    I enjoyed almost everything being offered! The service offered by the hotel staff was professional and good. Especially enjoyed the swimming pool which was quite big and had jacuzzi function! Liked the breakfast even though it had to change from buffet to ala carte in-room breakfast due to covid. Staff was accommodating if you require more portions, everything was yummy except maybe the prata was too hard and the chipolata dry. However, the biggest disappointment was the food establishments and options. The restaurants did not really have much variety and was very pricey. Felt forced to use the $50 dining voucher. Had the marriot burger and carbonara at the cafe which really missed the spots. There is nothing wrong with the restaurant staff’s service though..

    This was my second time staying in this hotel. One of my favorite things about this hotel happens as soon as you walk in past their front glass sliding doors. That is when a wonderful wave of air conditioned air wafts over you. I anticipate that moment every time I leave the hotel.

    I love that the hotel is basically attached to a main hub of the subway, which makes getting around easy and cheap. But if you are all about taxis, the hotel has always been very prompt and helpful in calling a taxi in a very timely manner.

    Being as the hotel is in the middle of Orchard Road it is in walking distance of any type, kind, and price range of shopping you could desire. There are also an ample amount of restaurants nearby to choose from.

    The rooms are clean and neat, but nothing of great renowned review for me.

    I do say I love their breakfast. The staff there was very friendly and helpful and the food options are plentiful and delicious. Whether you want a traditional “western” or “eastern” breakfast or anything in between you have plenty of options. I was delighted to find that they provide multiple ice cream flavors! I mean what better way to finish breakfast!

    If the opportunity presents itself again, I will return to stay at the Marriott Tang Plaza.

    I booked 1 night for staycation, location is really good, connected to ION mall and Orchard station. But Phyllis Chew, the assistance front office manager is a nightmare. I am not sure did she just had a bad day or whatever reason, she is rude and impatient. Poor attitude! She DID NOT try to solve my problem, she use her rude tone and ask me to put myself into her shoes to think. Is this how your treat your customer? I have paid for my stay, I am here to relax.

    It’s in a super convenient location. The metro is below the hotel and the hop on hop off site seeing tour picks up on the corner. There is easy access to food & shopping. I had access to the executive suite so I had free breakfast daily that was very good. There were cocktails and finger foods in the evenings.

    We had the dinner buffet at Marriott hotel. The price was alright as there was a one-for-one promotion for members, and my family members felt the spread was not bad. There was a good flow (consistent generous top up) of sashimi and oysters despite it being very popular. However I felt that the spread overall was not that impressive or wide. There was a bit of Indian, Japanese a bit of Italian pasta, roast meats, etc. but it felt kinda piecemeal. (More Chinese stuff, which isn’t that ‘wow’) I personally prefer and have been to other buffets with a wider selection of each cuisine, with more chefs cooking upon request. And I felt that one of the chefs could have been more friendly to guests. She treated us as if she was having a bad day. It’s not the best service when guests are even more friendly than servers on duty, no? Overall I did have a good time – there were many responsive and helpful staff! But I don’t think it meets a 5-star standard. So just a (still very respectable) 4 stars from me.

    A magnificent infrastructure well located; a careful crew with attention on details and guests preferences. Well equiped Gym facilities and meeting rooms; properly configured air conditioning system keeping the entire environment cool despite of the external temperature and that balanced with a delicate and pleasant scent on the air; A buffet that discourages going elsewhere due to its variety and quality; a bonus to a convenient flow of wine and beer for a fair price.     Very disappointing stay with Marriot. It’s such a poor experience that I have to give this rating. I’d start with what’s good. My wife is a Titanium member and we used the points for room upgrade to executive suite. The room is big and spacious, with 2 huge TVs and that’s the good thing. The executive lounge is good, with prompt service and ok food. Now, the poor experience, we waited for 15 minutes just to check-in to the hotel at the elite check in counter. The receptionist speaks so softly that we need her to repeat and repeat. The room, despite it’s glamorous look, requires proper maintenance. Water puddle forming outside the shower area is a real hazard. The door handle to the washroom came off when I tried to close it. The hot water from the tap took a long time to come in. Now the breakfast, check in was ok and we were shown to our seats. Despite getting the staff attention twice, it took 15 minutes to take our order. And, the table who came after us get to take their order and food first! Quality of food; Bacons were over grilled, sausages were cold and coffee was served with stained cups. I hope management will review feedback and work on it.

    I was here for a wedding and it was an overall pleasant experience. Venue was spacious and food was nothing to complain about. Friends who drove however had a really hard time locating the car park, and there was not much directional signage to assist them either.

    Had a pleasant stay right in the heart of Orchard. Stayed in the executive king room which boasts great views over ion Orchard/Wisma. The pool was really great – child friendly too. Except not a place to go if you’re hoping for somewhere quiet cause it does get quite rowdy and noisy with children around.

    I thoroughly enjoyed the hotel breakfast. The bread, eggs Benedict and roti canai (prata) deserves a special mention. Poached eggs were done to perfection and the bread was toasted (warm). The sweets were pretty average (french toast and waffles). Laksa was quite tasteless too. Was expecting better char siew baos. Tea from TWG which was pleasant.

    Overall great service, location, comfortable beds, awesome breakfast, can’t find any faults really.

    Top Hotel in a Top Location

    Situated at the junction of Scotts Road and Orchard Road, this hotel is in located where all the action is. The location is one of the best in the shopping belt, with an MRT station a stone’s throw away. Rooms are nicely renovated and staff are attentive. This 5 star hotel has a nice pool, a well equipped (but a tad small) gym, numerous cafes and restaurants. If you want to experience Otchard Road shopping in Singapore this is definitely one of the best hotels to stay at.

    Great hotel and restaurants… perfect to have an early morning breakfast. Down it with some freshly-squeezed orange juice or have a nice cold beer! Service staff are amazing, and chefs create the tastiest of food items. When you get there early in the morning, you’ll get the opportunity to have a nice chat with some of the chefs positioned at the food counters. A must visit spot whenever you’re in Orchard Road. Just sit, relax and watch the world go by.

    I had a good stay for a night. The check in was smooth and the waiting time was minimal. Casper checked in for us, he was friendly and was really patience with my questions. Plus point was he’s very child friendly too! My boys were delighted to interact with him. He’s a keeper!

    Room and bathroom were of decent size! The pool water can be quite chilly even on midday but it’s ok because the kids still had a blast!

    We’re doing a staycation comparison of all the marriott hotels in Singapore since we can’t travel anywhere.
    After having a great experience at JW Marriott South Beach, I’m sad to say that our experience did not meet the standards we’d expect at a Marriott hotel.

    1. Club lounge not available during weekdays: despite the fact it states clearly on the website the club lounge is open, we found out that the lounge is only operational Fri – Sun. It’s not open all the time either, it’s only open for cocktails in the evening. We extended our stay just so that we could experience the lounge. To our surprise, the lounge was packed. When we walked in, there weren’t enough seats, so we were seated at a baby table. (There were several tables where a big table was occupied by one person) Normally, the staff will try to re-seat you when a bigger table opens, but we had to request for one.
    The food is same as you would get at the cafe during the weekdays, service is slightly better.
    It seems that the hotel is not operating the lounge due to cost cutting efforts, not lack of demand.

    2. Breakfast service was poor: The lady who seats guests at breakfast (I think her name is Maria) is often not at her seat to seat guests right away. It happened to us, and I saw several other guests waiting to be seated, while all other staff avoids eye contact while walking by. This is very poor and I wouldn’t even expect this level of service at a Marriott.. Furthermore, when she finally came around, she took us to one section, only to do by to chat with another employee and redirected us to the opposite direction. I understand that weekend can be busy and tiring for hotel staff, but this is really poor quality customer service. The wait staff was okay, they at least tried to deliver orders in a prompt manner.

    For my future staycations, I think I would choose JW over Tang plaza. I get that tang plaza is in a convenient location, but the level of service is appalling.

    We are here to setup a balloon decoration for a event.

    Everywhere there are confetti on the floor and the hotel staff is already cleaning. We felt offended when we were told that we shouldn’t use penknife but a pin to pop the balloon so it won’t fly everywhere. (I don’t know if he is lazy or just the hotel rules that vendor need to clean up what they left)

    We even suggested that we will help to put in a pile, so you can just use a broom and dustpan to scoop it up on a plastic bag. But I the end, we put all the pop balloons inside a star foil so the staff can just pick and throw WITHOUT CLEANING.

    I hope he didn’t tell the client to clean the confetti up themselves.

    We stayed at Marriott over last weekend and had a wonderful time because it is very well located in the city area and are right above the Orchard MRT station so that makes it convenient for folks looking to leave their vehicle at home & go carless.

    There was a nice upgrade to a suite room too as part of their Titanium Elite loyalty program, and they were kind to arrange for extra bed (no cost) for our birthday boy and even provided a nice birthday greeting in the the room and a complimentary cake. (Thanks Patricia, the girl who answers our many service calls and the other kind & friendly male staff who delivered and setup for our extra bed request)

    We’re sorry too we lost two umbrellas from the concierge during our stay. Glad we could compensate for them, and be chased & reminded to pay for them up to the departing car, though we did inform reception we will try to arrange for them to be returned from the restaurant we left them at but needed time to make the necessary arrangements. Must have been some mix up with comms.

    However a couple of things to point out,
    – service quality could definitely be better, you could tell they are running quite lean and perhaps rightly so thus to the pandemic and reduced occupancy however we do find overall the existing staff could help make customer feel more welcomed with simple greetings & smiles than just walking through a rather mechanical temperature check procedure and into a cold, unfeeling lobby. Even the reception staff are constantly looking down at whatever they are doing and pretty oblivious of guests walking in and out. Perhaps it’s a confusing mix of non-SHN and SHN (stay home notice) guests?
    – breakfast choice is pretty limited and the same every morning. No excitement there. Happy to see Java+ Cafe (for high tea) and Crossroads? Cafe are popular with visitors daily but perhaps some culinary effort could go towards sprucing up breakfast for in-house guests? Some variety would be nice.
    – property is pretty dated, nothing much the management could do on that, except maybe facelift the lobby area a little?

    Not exactly a hit in our books for a staycation coming out of cabin fever we had due to CB, and I definitely didn’t impress my spouse with this choice. We wouldn’t recommend it.

    Has a great reputation for a reason: rooms are fantastic, service is excellent and the breakfast offering in the main restaurant is great.

    I like the unique geometry of the main tower that gives each room some great views around Singapore. Rooms are large and recently renovated, furnishings are nicest ones that I’ve stayed in.

    Gym is a little small and it gets crowded very quickly as the room is long and narrow.

    Club lounge has a great selection of food and drinks, great service and nice views that cover a decent potion of the skyline.

But during the dinner service, I pity the poor servers who have to walk all the way from level 3 to 2 just to get a glass of soft drink. Alas, who would order soft drinks at a dinner.     Highly recommend this conveniently located Marriott. Coming off the longest flight on earth, literally, I wasn’t expecting my hotel room to be ready at 6:40 AM. I had provided my flight information when I booked and when I walked up to the reservation desk before 7am I was beyond shocked when they told me they were expecting me and my room was ready. The kind staff shared that since they knew I was coming on an early flight they had prepared my room in advance. Talk about customer service. My eight day stay was flawless. I had complementary truffles in my room one night as a thank you for my stay. I really appreciated the ample supply of toiletries, dental kits, shaving kits, Q-tips, even a hairband that were replaced daily. The shower was wonderful and had a built in bench, a very convenient feature that is rarely in hotels. The beds were comfortable. I ate at the restaurant one evening and for one breakfast buffet. Both were fine, and the staff took pride in their food, but it is a bit pricey. For the rest of my trip I chose to go get croissants at a local bakery next door and try other establishments on Orchard Road. On one of my last nights in Singapore, I realized there was the secret bar off the main lobby and had some great cocktails there. This was a great base for my first trip to Asia and I’m so appreciative to the staff at the Marriott for making it a lovely stay.

    TL,DR: Poor cleanliness and hygiene. Found a cockroach under my bed. Hotel staff only helpful when I escalated the issues.

    I was allocated the Marriott Tang Plaza for my “Stay Home Notice” (SHN; aka quarantine for travellers arriving from overseas). When I checked into the room, everything seemed good and I was too tired to notice the problems with cleanliness. The room is spacious enough to spend 14 days in, appeared to be clean (to be fair, the bathroom and bed were clean) and had a nice big wraparound window with a fantastic view. The staff seemed helpful and the food was good enough. Then the problems came…

    I noticed dried food and hair all over the carpet; the carpet was obviously not vacuumed between guests. I asked the hotel for a vacuum cleaner and pointed out that they had failed to clean the room properly before I checked in. They were apologetic, but I was told that I would need to “rent it (the vacuum cleaner) from the Happy SHN website”. I understand that there is no housekeeping while I’m here since I’m in quarantine, but this mess was here before I checked in, they should have cleaned it and failing that, provided me with a means to clean it since it’s a failure on their end. It was only when I told them firmly that this was their failure, so they needed to sort it out or rent it for me, that they got me a vacuum cleaner.

    A couple of days later I noticed a dead cockroach under my bed. I absolutely hate cockroaches. I am a tidy person and I bag and bin the food trays and wipe down surfaces after every meal. I put the bin bag out before 9pm each evening for collection (they say that they collect bin bags at 10am, 3pm and 9pm) as I don’t want food in or near the room overnight so as not to attract pests. I called the hotel up again to say there is a dead cockroach under my bed. She says is there anything they can do and did I need a “plastic bag to clear it up”? I said no thanks, but could they please clear the bin bags as they said they would in the evenings at 9pm. I pointed out that since I’ve been here it’s never been cleared in the evenings and always left overnight only to be cleared the next morning. She said OK, they will clear it. 10pm comes and goes and the bin bag is still outside my door. So I get upset and ask them to clear it again, and to also clear the dead cockroach under my bed, and only then did they do it.

    My main issue here is that asking politely for the problem to be sorted got me nowhere. It was only when I kicked up a fuss that anything was done. I don’t understand why it needed to be such a struggle with this hotel. I don’t think my requests (for a vacuum cleaner to clean a room that they had failed to clean, and for them to pick up bin bags in a timely manner daily as they had said they would) are unreasonable. I would rather not expend energy into negative pursuits like complaining, it just causes stress both to me and to the hotel staff, and I don’t like being unpleasant to people who are just trying to do their jobs.

    I’m not impressed and frankly just disappointed by the cleanliness of the hotel and the response of the team to these issues. I understand that these are unprecedented times and this does not reflect on the “usual” hotel guest rooms and service, however, they have been using their rooms as part of the SHN for over a year since mid-2020. How have they not learned to adapt to these different demands and situations by now?

    This was my second time staying in this hotel. One of my favorite things about this hotel happens as soon as you walk in past their front glass sliding doors. That is when a wonderful wave of air conditioned air wafts over you. I anticipate that moment every time I leave the hotel.

    I love that the hotel is basically attached to a main hub of the subway, which makes getting around easy and cheap. But if you are all about taxis, the hotel has always been very prompt and helpful in calling a taxi in a very timely manner.

    Being as the hotel is in the middle of Orchard Road it is in walking distance of any type, kind, and price range of shopping you could desire. There are also an ample amount of restaurants nearby to choose from.

    The rooms are clean and neat, but nothing of great renowned review for me.

    I do say I love their breakfast. The staff there was very friendly and helpful and the food options are plentiful and delicious. Whether you want a traditional “western” or “eastern” breakfast or anything in between you have plenty of options. I was delighted to find that they provide multiple ice cream flavors! I mean what better way to finish breakfast!

    If the opportunity presents itself again, I will return to stay at the Marriott Tang Plaza…..

    The bathroom had a nice rain shower facility, complete with Thann bathroom amenities that we really enjoyed. The soap/scrub combination is just so smart! We were also reassured of the high standards of cleanliness that the hotel has put in. From our room, we were able to see the junction of Wheelock Place, Lido and Ion Orchard.     Honestly wouldn’t have chosen Marriott Tangs if JW Marriott South Beach was available. Room is small and old. Food (breakfast and at M Club) is below average – poor presentation and taste. Saw many other guests opted for takeaways outside instead of complimentary breakfast! All the staff we came across seemed really inexperienced, always preoccupied and falling way short of the standard of hospitality I expected from Marriott brand. Disappointed.

    Absolutely stunning hotel located in Central Singapore on the always lively Orchard Road.

    Lobby was very open and spacious with plenty seating and tables. The rooms were very comfortable and modern with all the amenities setup for you. The breakfast buffet was delectable with a wide variety of food to choose from. The facilities were a true sight to behold, especially the outdoor swimming pool with plenty of room for a large group of people.

    The location of the hotel itself is right in the heart of the shopping district just above the SMRT which made is so much easier for us to explore.

    Lastly, these staff members deserve a mention as they made our stay even more convenient and comfortable than it already was. Porters Andrew and Rudi. Front desk Dinesh and Joyce. Jerom from Crossroads restaurant and Sarah and Miswan from housekeeping. All true assets to the hotel and exceed the Marriott brand standard.

    Under normal circumstances, Marriott’s service would have fell short but we’re now in covid-19 times & you can see their staff giving their best despite working stretched 12-hr days while facing manpower shortage with safe distancing measures – hence longer waiting times for everything. Taper your expectations & you’ll enjoy ur staycay much better.

    We booked Klook’s April low season deal [$200 – stay in deluxe room, free breakfast & $100f&b credits] and so did 472834473772 others using SRV credits.

    The Good: Spotlessly clean rooms, thann toiletries, rain shower, free upgrade to Executive (but looks like Deluxe still), polite staff, 4 bottled water in room, proximity to MRT & shops.

    The bad: Hotel was packed on a Sunday. Mariott cafe was fully booked for dinner and many guests had to use credits on takeaways. The kitchen ran out of steak, beef n fish! We waited 1 hour for our food to be served. Breakfast queue on Monday morning (7.15am) stretched all the way to reception.

    If you want a spectacular room view, don’t take 1608. We faced Mt E, not the main shopping belt.

    Pls consider having a separate queue for guests takeaway or a better online ordering system to manage the crowd, instead of a single queue for dine in/meal enquires/takeaway especially during this covid period.

    Hotel is located at a great and convenience location. Close to all shops and public transportation. Hotel facility and room were very nice and clean. The service we received from staff was professional, courteous, attentive and helpful. All this made our short 3-night stay an enjoyable and memorable one. Would love to come back.

    I do have to compliment the quality of the food here. The executive room we stayed in was spacious. There is a currency kiosk near the entrance to the hotel. Our twin room was a good size and quiet. My room was located on the executive floor and provided complimentary breakfast and evening tea and drinks.

    Location is perfect on Orchard Road – right in the middle of the malls.

    Rooms were smallish (but I assume standard in SG), bathrooms a bit dated, but has all the amenities expected of a 5 star hotel.

    Service was friendly. The elevators are a bit slow.

    Overall, pleasant stay.

    Great location in a well maintained hotel. Great status recognition. It may not be within the luxury tier in the spectrum, but it is is close. I actually like this hotel more than the St Regis and Ritz Carlton in Singapore. A lot has to do with expectation. People expect a lot more from those 2 hotels and they can very easily under-deliver sometimes. But this marriott, definitely exceeded my expectation. I came in not thinking its gonna be a nice hotel because its quite an old building, but its actually very well maintained. Breakfast was great. I also happened to book my stay here earlier so i got a good price, so even better for me.

    if u can get a good price from this hotel, do it. Everything is fine here. Also special thanks to front desk manager Angie for helping me find the room i want, its a busy season, so i very much appreciate your help! I will return to this hotel whenever im in singapore.     Love this hotel … nice big rooms with a great pool and a solid gym. The lounge is great with nice drinks and good food. The buffet breakfast is tops for sure. Go to the Other Room bar, definitely not to be missed. Plus super well located to get to everything and everywhere.

    The hotel is conveniently located in the city center at Orchard Road shopping centers and next to MRT underground. Hotel service and breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant is excellent. Rooms are clean and spacious. I personally like the 5th floor pool terrace rooms which are romantic and ideally located next to swimming pool. We managed to negotiate the pool side room with a regular room price during low season. We have visited several times here because the hotel has always a great atmosphere. During Christmas time the hotel lounge is decorated with a huge Xmas tree. Xmas dinner buffet is a great experience.

    Greeted with fresh flowers at the lobby. Room is spacious with work desk, and there is dressing table in the toilet. There is swimming pool, gym, and a basketball half court. Food at the hotel cafe is awesome too, enjoyed both the dinner and breakfast buffet. Five stars standard indeed!

    A must place to stay in Singapore is the Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel this location is a walking distance to all high end products as you explore this area when you get out at the hotel the educator is just a few steps down below to explore shops and good food, if you are underground there are exits signs where it will take you to what street so you won’t get lost or disoriented where you came from, I have to get back at my hotel catch the happy hour at the M on the fifth floor we’re you can enjoy good finger food good wine happy hour bars ends at 8:30 pm and they open at 5:30 in the afternoon.     Like most Asian hotel properties, this Marriott feels more upscale than its Western equivalents. The rooms are a decent size, the breakfast meets expectations, and the location is generally great. On foot, this location has everything you’d want with access to shops and parks, but the inconvenience comes with taxis. The entrance to this place is very congested and difficult to get to because of its prime location. Expect to wait linger for a taxi here than at most hotels in the area.

    The hotel is in a decent location with shopping located steps outside of the hotel or even beneath the hotel. The subway is literally below the hotel and provides access to all business areas in Singapore. The room I had was clean and provided for a good night’s sleep. The ac in the room (like other hotels) shuts off when your key card is removed. You could keep it running with a deactivated card but that defeats the purpose of saving energy. The furniture in the room was clean but looked a little used. The bathroom and shower were adequate and I liked the separate vanity area (perfect for women). The views are nice and can be fully blocked with curtains at night. The TV had a few decent channels with a mix of Mandarin and English. The restaurant at the hotel was a little expensive for the area, but had a nice breakfast buffet with many different options including pastries, juices, omelets, and meats. The pool is very nice as well. The one complaint I have is some of the flooring in the hallways is stained and needs to be cleaned or replaced.

    Superb service. After 15 hours long flight, I arrived at Changi 6AM. We were tired, had some foods and took a Grab Taxi to the hotel. The front desk was so kind to let us check-in both rooms at 9AM.

    Love to proximity to Singapore’s famous shopping belt! There is a beautiful boulevard lined with shopping centers. So much shopping to do.

    The rooms in Marriott Tangs are quite spacious. Every room seems to offer a great view due to the octagonal floor plan. The are no corner rooms.

    Facilities in the room are modern and there are enough sockets for all my charging needs.

    Quite a few good restaurants in the building that were all booked out when I tried getting a table. I ended up doing takeaway from the cafe.

    There is a nice size gym and a great looki g pool. Overall very happy with my stay.

    I’ve been a Club Marriott member for 2 years now. Overall, I’m pretty impressed with the standard of service and room. I’m particularly impressed with the service, food and beverages offered at the Club Lounge. One area that needs improvement is the food served at Marriott Cafe & Crossroads Cafe. The food is passable, bordering on average, and this is not expected of a luxury Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. My comparison is based on food served at Cafe 2000 at M Hotel and Food Capital at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. There is an obvious difference in food taste. This would have been a 5 stars, if not for the food taste. Overall, I have the love for Marriott Tang Plaza and see myself a loyal Club Marriott member in the years to come. Well done!

    Great location in the middle of everything on Orchard road. We had a club floor room which I can highly recommend for comfort and very nice eats and drinks.     Old classic hotel that’s in the heart of Orchard Road, so great for shopping needs. We had a terrible check in experience, waited in executive lounge until 630pm (normal check-in time is 2pm). As a Platinum Elite member, you would expect more. They also didn’t deliver our bags up to our room until 11pm. Very shocking in terms of the experience, and only when we went down to complain at 11pm, they provided a bottle of wine and cake for my anniversary staycation. We stayed at the Marriott South Beach last week and there’s definitely better service there, as well as a nicer executive lounge. Won’t come back to this Tangs Marriott for the same price.

    I am glad the hotel took security to the highest standards here. There are times they reject people for storing huge amount of big luggage in the hotel vicinity, it’s better to be in the safe side than fall into tragedy. The staffs are professional and firm when dealing with such request, makes my holiday safe. This is a hotel which can be trusted
