One of our favourite hot pot chains in Singapore. There are a couple outlets across the island and it’s a must visit whenever we’re in Singapore.

Great variety of soup bases, fresh vegetables, mushrooms and condiments. Additional charge for beef this year, but still reasonable. Some of the meats served were pretty fat, but acceptable for price.

Drinks available at the dispensers, and the ice cream is the perfect end to a great meal.

Expect to stand in line during peak periods. 70min lunch, 90min dinner.

Food is pretty standard that I will give a kudos. BUT… BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT!!

One of the staff removed his mask and coughed onto the soup containers/sauce trays. My appetite went from a 100 to 0. My face went from smiling to horrified.

Manager was nice, but this one experience has completely traumatised me.

Outlet was a little dirty , water jugs had debris, cups were oily. kinda expected from a store that has opened for many years but at least the manager was nice enough to replace it for us.

BUT , COUGHING ONTO THE SOUPS AND SAUCES IS DEFINITELY INEXCUSABLE ESPECIALLY DURING COVID TIMES. Dear lord I hope I don’t get Covid from this experience else I’ll have my lawyer ready.

We went to the Sabu sai Causeway point outlet and had a terrible experience. One of the soup called Sukiyaki had a lot of either salt or msg and after our lunch I felt very thirsty the entire night. My wife was OK as she took mainly from the herbal soup. Service was quite slow despite there were only 5 to 6 tables.

Bloody fantastic experience. Great place for celebration with buddies. Even without the free flow drinks and soft serve, they now provide a 0.50 cent jug of ice cold water. I literally forgot about the once available freeflow drinks. Great experience, do come with a friend who can eat as much as you do cause you’ll be stuffing yourself up. Price is also amazing for student celebration postcovid with the added $2 for beef at 23 dollar per person. And whoever that filipino lady who was serving us, you are top notch! Request for extra beef was given in less than a minute each time. Thanks alot!

Lots of veges to choose from too. There s soft ice cream, soft drinks n hot beverages. I like their latte. Overall a pleasant meal. Bill was $40.

Simple, affordable steamboat, n the normal beef tastes good enough unlike some other chains. Herbal soup is good, the Tom yum is not… Just sour with a hint of curry, a wrong combo for this soup. Will visit again.

Especially love the pork and beef slices, very thin slices and flavourful.

Ordered tonkotsu and sukiyaki soup base. Sukiyaki good for cooking meat and mushrooms, making them very flavourful. Tonkotsu is nice for drinking and for veggies.

Any buffet that is priced above $20 would be considered in the expensive range. Not a huge variety of raw ingredients to choose from, soup was good though but since we got the free flow drink set we didnt bother drinking the soup. Meat quality was really commendable, quality cuts with beautiful marbling, not your typical cheap lousy leftover meat like other hotpot/buffet.The soft serve ice cream wasnt as nice as i thought.

There are definitely buffets priced way cheaper and better than this. Sukiya is not bad, more reputable but price around the same. I recommend Ssikek Korean BBQ and I’m Kim. Both popular places, around $17 net with large variety of cooked food to eat while BBQ-ing your raw meat. Buffet is supposed to be cheap because of the cheap ingredients and ur cooking the food yourself. Anyone that tells u a $30 buffet is “OK priced” have no sense of money or judgement.

Always the best well priced hotpot buffet you can have. They have a soup of the month and a veggie of the month. Service is generally good though you have to grab the waiters attention frantically as they are always busy and the restaurant is always crowded. If you are vegetarian, you can get the seaweed soup and cook all the veggies. But it would be better if they charge $10++ for lunch for vegetarian options as we don’t get meat. Just such a small change will help vegetarians and promote healthier eating.

Had weekday lunch with my family at this hotpot restaurant.

Shabu Sai is well-known for its affordable and tasty hotpot buffet and is located throughout Singapore. Whenever we need a quick hotpot fix, the name Shabu Sai definitely comes to mind.

Throughout the years of dining at this restaurant, we felt that meat quality has been consistent and are really very happy about it. However, we hope that soup quality can improve as it tends to taste bland (tonkotsu, tomyum miso) or does not really taste like how it should (seasonal soups). We tend to pick tonkotsu and spicy soup as tonkotsu is a safe choice to cook most ingredients and the spicy soup has never let us down.

Ingredients have remained the same; vegetables are fresh, meats are thinly sliced and fresh too. However, we felt that the noodles have changed, it doesn’t feel so QQ (springy) anymore and doesn’t soak up the flavour of the soup that well either.

Other than that, service is always quick and efficient, and that it one thing we really appreciate about this chain of restaurants. One suggestion is if they can provide more sugar-free drinks at the drink bar, that will be absolutely fantastic!

A great value. Both the lunch and dinner plans are a great deal; all you can eat for 60 or 90 minutes, respectively, meats (beef, chicken or pork), endless vegetables, noodles, coffee, soda and ice cream await you. One of our favorites.

It’s self service for everything but the meats which they bring in trays on demand.

Cook it in a hotpot with a choice of soups or go for straight water.

Gluten Free and #celiac friendly as you need only skip the noodles and go for plain water. Good for the whole family, kid friendly and easy on the wallet.

    Multiple locations throughout Singapore.

I patronize almost once every month or two for the past 5 years.

Wide variety of soups and veggies to choose from and they do change the soup menu every now and then, which gives us more choice to choose from from time to time.

Clean and neat environment with very friendly, well-mannered and well trained staff that will assist you whenever you need.

The buffet also include some vegetables options, rice, noodles to supplement your meal. You can also have some premium add on platter that is ala-carte. (eg seafood)

Due to covid measurement, now you will place your order using an order sheet and the ingredients will be served to you. Take note that they not serving free flow drink counter. Each cup is going at 1 dollar.

Always coming back to eat here, their soup (tonkutso & sukiyaki) is good.

There’s a lot of variety of food (meat & vegetables) but I haven’t tried their premium menu and wagyu (their normal beef is better than their competitor).

And also the Manager on this branch is nice and friendly.

Will definitely bring our friends here when they visit in Singapore

Food was great and the waiters explained clearly how to order and etc. Never wrote a review despite coming here several times. There is a lady i would want to praise, her name is Leilani. She explains very thoroughly and was respectful. She was also super kind even as we left our things behind and retrieved it back for us.

Pot is ridiculously small, soup overflows to the other side and then you get a weird tasting broth. Variety is sad. And for a japanese shabu, funny they do not have grated raddish as a condiment. Food so-so. Definitely lose to their competitor suki-ya. Especially when it comes to service. The staff attitude is horrendous. I asked for 2 eggs and she rolled her eyes and walked away.

Had dinner on 25 Nov for my family for 4 pax. Service is always prompt when we approach the staff to replenish meat and soup base. Food is quite standard with nothing exceptional, but with this kind of price point for a hot pot buffet, there is nothing to complain too.

This has been my go-to shabu shabu location ever since my student years. The student lunch promotion is affordable. Their sukiyaki soup base is my favourite. Even though I no longer enjoy student prices, their sukiyaki soup base is better than the other sukiyaki place.

    Have not visited for sometime.
Have new policy to add $2 per head for beef? My sis doesn’t eat beef at all, so not worth it.

It had been years since I last visited and was abit apprehensive ‘cuz I checked the recent reviews before visiting. However went ahead as my friend was craving for it. Pleasantly surprised that the self-serve stations are promptly refilled, service was rather quick (despite it being a weekend evening), and the staff in general were very friendly and polite!

The buffet was also very reasonably priced (if you don’t take beef, it’s even considered quite affordable haha). Returned to dine here again just a couple weeks later, and decided to share a review.

**Do note that they do not take reservations so you have to all be present to get seated cuz there’s a dining limit of 90min acc to the staff (Idk if they really enforce this ‘cuz we usually eat in about an hour and leave haha)
