My 1st time using this airport and first time on Firefly. I must said am very satisfied with the whole experience. The uncle that check us in was friendly and helpful. From check-in, going through immigration, security check till boarding was very smooth and quick. Less hassle than Changi airport and less crowded thus less stressful. I will choose to fly from here next time for my trips to KL. Small and efficient airport. There is only a small cafe here, no duty free shopping but it’s ok for me. Flight back was also very fast and smooth.

The attitudes of Malaysian and Chinese immigration officers are too different. (Especially since my passport at that time was a Chinese guy) I want them to be unified.

The airport for firefly , located in Seletar .

If you wanna know about Seletar Airport for flying out via Firefly. Watch this. Anyway, don’t have to go 4 hours before boarding time. The counters will not be ready for you. There’s no duty-free for you too. If you are thinking of getting something for your trip. Overall, it was a really relaxing and nice little resort-like airport. Nonstressful with all super friendly officers and staff.

Seletar airport is currently closed – updated 24th dec 2021

In its nolmacy period, its actually a pretty quiet and quaint place. But of course it cannot be compared to changi airport. For those looking for someone new to explore, perhaps you can visit this airport and its surrouding area.

It’s really nice to see that Seletar is almost restored to its former self after this pandemic. Airport was wonderfully clean and spacious as it usually is. Only 1 dining option available so far, but there are still plenty of choices available regardless and come with reasonable pricing. I did have somewhere quiet and comfortable, and was able to get something nice to eat. Kudos to the staff and aunties/uncles who were welcoming and friendly It deserves to be voted as one of the best airports in the world.

A small, cosy and comfortable airport. Staff are helpful and efficient. No other dining options here besides a single Teh Tarik Express before immigration and no other shops in sight. Immigration was a breeze cause there are so few flights here. Would recommend over the hectic and sprawling Changi for the simple traveller.

Quite an inconvenient location as there are no mrt stations nearby & there is only 1 bus stop with maybe a couple of buses serving the airport. Lack of retail options within the airport – There is only 1 shop selling food & drinks. At the moment, firefly is the only commercial airline using this airport, with the others being general aviation. The airport is clean & nicely designed.

  36. Avatar photo
    YTExotic27

It’s an okay airport. I would say that this is even smaller than a big bus interchange like Yishun since there’s only about 2-3 shops. There are a lot of police here, and there are usually firefly flights from Subang Airport -> Seletar Airport. There are no gates or anything like that like Changi airport, so you will go out in the open to board your plane.

Try to refrain from taking pictures when there is a lot of security, best to take either outside or when you are boarding/just alighting from the plane.

I really enjoyed the no fuss smaller airport with lesser people going through. It takes about 35mins to go anywhere really so if you are flying out from Seletar, be sure to cost that travelling time in.

It’s got a new feel, totally appreciate the carpets, the decently sized garden, and of course the ever so helpful wardens tending to the get the taxis in.

Food wise, one can expect only 1 corner food shop. It’s only so so.

You do have to check what other forms of public transport. During my short trip, both taxi drivers are not familiar with the place.

Purpose built. It’s a breeze to check in and clear immigration and customs. Still very new . The only scheduled flight in and out at the moment is Firefly to Subang (KUL) Airport in Malaysia. Only 1 F&B outlet and is outside before the departure hall. There is only 1 duty free shop inside the departure hall .
The GST claim is very tricky though. There is a sign next to the self service machine (only 1 is available) stating that a TRS ticket will be issued but no ticket was issued. And also you may need to show the items to Customs (as what the sign says), but Customs is inside the departure hall which means you need speak to the officer manning the Departure hall and tell them you want to show customs the items before you drop off your checked baggage (no issues if the item is on your carry-ons). They will make arrangement. Complicated claim process and sign provided doesn’t help, hope this is improved.

Suitable if you would like a breezy check in, short airport time, no requirements for duty free purchases than Seletar is a good option. For flying to KL via Subang.

I have always wondered how do people with private planes fly …. Wonder no more! Come to Seletar!

Upon landing, you breeze thru to the immigration in 50 steps, and in another 50 steps you will reach the taxi stand and have your limo pick you up. (Just replace the Lear jet with Fireflyz turbo prop …. Not as flashy but does the job all the same and the limo with a Grab car).

The airport is unhurried, snug, comfortable and efficient – as how millionaires like it (and maybe the occasional billionaire). Has free internet access and charging station for devices (people with private planes need to charge their phones).

As the airport currently only serves Firefly, it really does feel for a moment what having your own private plane service is like.

My vote is best airport goes to Seletar (Changi? Who is Changi?)

Note – As you have to walk on the tarmac to reach the plane, not sure what happens when it rains (yet to experience this)

The area around Seletar airport is very beautiful. Only place in Singapore that is serene and still left with sights of Singapore’s history.

A small and convenient airport that serves flights from Singapore to Subang in Malaysia. I hope that they would expand to have more than one restaurant/shop in the airport.

The airport is nice but the check in counter is terrible. When they just opened for first flight out to subang on June 13,2022, everything was so good and impressive. After that, the check in counter of Fireflyz to security clearance just not impressive. The way they handled passengers as if we are taking bus! Check in counter -CS can just use better words and pls SMILE instead of monday blue look!

Security is definitely a big disappointment. Brought up a few times to the airport team but somehow nothing has improved!

Modern and beautifully updated, this small airport is compact but complete. Check-in and customs processes are a breeze. It only serves private planes and Firefly Airlines going to Subang but still a cool place to watch all kinds of small planes. There’s a Teh Tarik Express that opens around 7:30am offering local grub and beverages.

Compact and cool… feels like one is lounging at a 4-star hotel lobby rather than an airport. The only commercial carrier that operates is Firefly. Service of ground crew were outstanding. Expedient check in and fully automated immigration services.

Small airport which supports only smaller version planes like the Cessna. As a cyclist though it serves as a great way point and has a casual atmosphere here at nights. Maybe a date spot of sorts if you don mind the inconvenience to get her since busses serving this area are few and in long intervals. Not near to any MRT stations as well.

    Pros:
    – Within boarding area, there are water fountains, dedicated charging station (adaptors may be needed if non local), enclosed smoking area, prayer room
    – Really small, new, very short distance from taxi drop off area to check-in, to security, to boarding area
    – Free wifi, easy connection, decent bandwith (might vary with timing and crowd)

    Note:
    – Took some time to confirm an advance booking taxi/ Grab for an early morning flight on a Sunday due to it being a little far north
    – Only one caffe at checkin area that starts around 0730

Took Firefly out from this airport 2 days back. New, clean, and efficient with excellent service! Staffs were friendly and helpful. There is only one cafe outside immigration that serves food and drinks. No duty-free shopping though. Flew back today, and was ushered by a nice staff to where the pick up area is which is at a waiting area in the opposite car park. Feels good to be so well taken off! Thank you Seletar Airport!

Step out of cab and you can reach check in counter in less than 1min. Counter close 30min before flight but never have a queue. Security check have no queue and at worst take 2min. Board the flight latest 10min before it take off. What more could you ask for for such a low traffic convenient airport?

Cosy airport with relaxed atmosphere, unlike the hustle and bustle of Changi Airport.
I have not flown from here yet, but I am sure the planes here do not have to give us a grand tour of the long taxiways before joining the long queue to take off, like in Changi.

    Travel And food

Still a very nice airport after 2 years from my last visit

There is only 1 cafe which is understandable given the especially the uncle who is clearing the tables.

Can I suggest to have more vending machines around to give passenger more choices?

    Staffs are so friendly
For the first time firefly staffs have big smile on their faces. Must be the environment

Airport personnel seem to enjoy their work
One immigration uncle even told me its v early inside has no lounge no food
No need to go in so early
Enjoy a hot drink before going in.

Sad thing is the interior designer of the airport must be old man
He neglected one very important thing

    CHARGER
    There is no charging port
    No plug
I had to sit in the middle of the hall borrow a chair from the cafe
Sorry…. this person need to upgrade himself tech wise or retire to make way for young blood.

After clearing customs there are charing station but one need to stand at the station!!! So either u have a seat or your phone gets charged
    What about the elderly???
Why can’t plug be installed next to seats?

Public transport seem to be lacking unlike changi airport but if the planner didnt think of plug for mobile phone , can we expect him to think of solving complicated issues like transportation??? Not likely

Sorry I should hv given 3 stars
    1. Never address the most obvious need of travellers of this decade , where to charge phones, laptops, ipad
    2. Connectivity of passengers going to seletar airport
    3. No lounge or cafe for waiting area at the gate (even old fashion , 3rd world subang airport has lounge and cafe at the waiting area)

But for the team mending seletar airport, their attitude, their friendly smiles and happy faces, it’s not their fault so not fair to penalize them

New & Spotless & Impeccable small terminal of Seletar Airport that serves for VIP Private jets and scheduled FireFly. All airline, security, Teh Tarik Cafe staffs are so friendly. Everything so perfect you want to stay longer. Hoping this beautiful airport would garner much more traffic than current only 6 flights with Firefly.

Terminal building is old but has a nostalgic atmosphere you can fill like you have travelled back in time. All flights landing here are either from places not serve by big airlines or here for maintainance & repair. The airport has been upgraded recently, it has a new control tower and the whole area has alot of aerospace link companies and also cafes & restaurants and still maintain it’s serenity.
Also there are still developments on going, including a new passenger terminal with an open air car park. Its schedule to be operational by year end.

A very small airport compared to Changi, but it looks quite new and clean. Only has one F&B (Mr Teh Tarik Express) here Fast check-in and clearance as not a lit of passengers. I think only those propeller planes (Firefly) and private jets using this airport.

A new comtemporary airport. Clean and neat. Less crowd over here, as the airport serves on firefly airline currently. Only 1 f&b, Mr Teh Tarik over here. But the location is quite remote, and currently it is served by 1 public bus.
