This outlet can’t seem to get it right. It can be so much more if they put in more effort to do up the place and the food items. The owners don’t seem to be interested in making the outlet better. The balls in the bean curd can be too mushy and soft sometimes

You can expect very fine and silky tauhuey from selegie soybean! Added a mix of three tang yuans and it was about $3.20 or $3.60 i think. Their youtiaos are also good to pair with the beancurd. Could tell that their tangyuans are not the frozen ones, they were very soft and filled generously. Enjoyed the sesame ones the most but their peanut tangyuan included sesame seeds inside which made it more “fragrant”. The red bean tang yuan was unique and it was alright but I wouldn’t rave about it.

Selegie chain beancurd standard, quite ok if you’re here for the beancurd. Staff was very unfriendly and sesame balls/red bean balls were too soggy, as if soaked in water for too long. Would give my business to other shops like Mr Bean if I’m around the area again, or other Selegie outlets; the bad service is not worth coming here for.

I have had this beancurd quite a number of times and frankly speaking, I still do not get why some people say it is nice. Maybe the brand has been around for quite awhile and it is traditional.
However I have actually heard some customers – a family, mumbled amongst themselves (after having it and walking away from the shop) that the taste of the beancurd is inferior to another brand.

I do not get the queues. Like why there would be people queuing, despite having this myself before.
The environment is quite stuffy and hot.
Interior of the shop is quite dated and small, being more like a storeroom than a space for customers to sit down to eat. They do not know how to maximise the space.

    Service is not good.

I have to pass by this place to get to my work everyday and it is really annoying that their queues always cuts across the corridor.
At times when their customers are queuing, they do not leave any space for others to walk through.
It is a corridor! A passageway for pedestrians. The front of the shop is not the space of the shop after all.
I do feel it is the duty of the shop workers to remind their customers to always leave some space for normal pedestrians using the passageway to walk through.
It is inconsiderate that neither the customers nor the shop workers care.
Someone should make a complaint about this and only then, the customers will know not to block the passageway when queueing. It is ridiculous how the queue cuts across the passageway, without a gap for people to walk through.

I always buy original flavours, grass jelly, beancurd, soya bean drink. And 8/10 times does not disappoint. Other items on menu like youtiao/butterfly/muffins r just not good. They do what they r known for the best. The rest maybe from suppliers.

I buy from them almost every other day for 3 months liao, some qc is needed for same quality everyday. Food biz has high turnover so diff people cooking the soya bean every other day is expected to have diff taste. Altho some days the qc not that good, i will still patronise them cos some days soyabean r really tasty n texture gotten right.

Usually i go at 2-4pm, off peak hour but theres still some customers buying. Only 1-3 people in queue so its ok. but this shows their popularity is very good. Crowd usually comes at 6pm onwards by office workers off work.

This branch of the famed Soya Bean chain is tucked at a corner shop along a row of HDB shophouses at Bendemeer. Good for drivers who can parked at the carpark next to it.

Finished dinner and decided to drop by for desserts. Was thinking of what to order and then was just inspired by the items on the posters. The azuki gula melaka looked interesting and we also ordered the one with the rice dumplings.
Desserts was not bad, I quite like the one with the gula melaka. The cubes were quite chewy but kinda bland. Enjoyed the gula melaka with the beancurd. The other one didn’t go well after eating the gula melaka because the gula melaka taste already overwhelmed the plain one. Should have eaten the plain one first or just have ordered only the gula melaka.
I would usually buy the pastries like the fritters, butterfly or the egg tarts but was just too full.
Wanted the peppermint soya bean but no more peppermint so had the classic one.
