I was intrigued by how these skaters at scape managed to work their magic with their boards 🙂 if you need a place to skate, this seems like a great place

i wish there were more mirrors around, and more sheltered areas to practise. if you dont go early enough all the spots are taken up. overall a good place to practise dance with vending machines for drinks and snacks

Scape was a fun & loving place where you can be what you one there, be it you are a small little girl or a old man you can do what you want. There were McDonald, subway and more other food chains to select from, even if you can’t find anything you want, you can visit the mall just right next to scape or a break or even a delicious meal to end your day

Once marketed as THE mall for the youth, SCAPE has lost much of its lustre over the years. While the mall still has its anchor tenants like O School, the mall is now generally quiet and empty.

There are empty spaces on the ground floor itself and the traffic to the mall seems to have dwindled over the years. There are mainly service based shops here now like karaoke, board games cafe, martial arts academy and dance schools, with a mixture of food places, but there is nothing really attractive about the mall aside from that.

Unless you’re one of the students of one of the service based retailers here, there is nothing much for you to visit despite its convenient location. I would guess this pattern is not unique to SCAPE, but it’s just sad to see sometimes. Now it’s just an average mall.

Great place with many youths as always. Either singing dancing laughing or cosplaying. Otherwise playing sports or skateboarding downstairs. Takes lots of courage in my opinion to dance in front of those reflective mirrors out in the open to strangers looking around. Many food places yet most are way too high priced and also there is a Macdonald here as well as a few escape rooms. Great place as well to build on creativity and many youth events held here to go with friends!

Come see and listen to what’s new, and see skilled and fun young dance and musical talent on the outdoor stage. Next to McDonald’s, this is definitely worth a walk by. I dropped by on a Friday night and came away energized and impressed by dance and improvisation on stage. People put their names on the list, are called over the microphone and hit the stage to dance. Some were groups or individuals, but each took courage. Drop by and enjoy the sounds.

A nice place for young people to hang out.. There is a game cafe called Playnation there. Situated in the city centre, it is not very far from Somerset MRT, but I believe the most convenient way is by bus along Orchard Road. Whatever it is, just don’t drive there, 9 out of 10 times you won’t find car park.

Some visitors are just downright irresponsible & don’t bother to clean up after their own messes. For instance, a large plastic bag of packed ice that a certain group had left unattended caused a spillage over time, but none of them bothered to use towels to wipe away the water that had formed a puddle. Clearly, lacking common sense..

Used to be youth friendly with lots of fashion shops and a great hangout place with bars. Now it is deserted and empty with the only exception of nightlife. Bars, darts shop are relatively small and crammed. Would not recommend if you are in town and looking for a place to drink. The only time worth visiting this place is for a game of darts and escape room.

Great place to chill on both weekdays & weekends! Space is bookable for events as well. Since this is a post-pandemic review, might as well review some updates…

This place used to be very crowded, a place where most teenagers hang out during the weekends, where there’s flea market and many events.
In the recent years, lesser people have been patrolling this area and many shops have closed down. There’s still some female clothings on the ground level and food on the upper floors but you probably won’t be going there if you aren’t meeting your friends for a meal. Scape was an enthralling adventure. It’s challenging and often tricky puzzles sparkled the mind consistently. Although more time could have been given, the step by step buildup of activities was well-paced and the backdrop was aesthetically pleasing. Once in a while when we became stuck, the instructors actively gave clues and encouraged us to keep up with the timing allocated. While the rooms were spacious, I felt that the lightning could have been altered more for effect. I also acknowledge that the props were not to be touched, but this should not be restricted to all aesthetic props. Clues were well thought of.

There were free open areas for dancing purposes. Despite the good facilities like the mirrors, most spaces were dirty and would be hard to use especially if it was raining. Nothing particularly interesting and not very crowded in the day.
There’s a bar for cheap beer, manekineko for karaoke, restaurants on level 2 and misc shops here and there.
They also have dance schools, and the spaces in and around the mall are often used by dancers.

Scape is the designated youth hangout of Singapore. Scapes fascinating architecture and interesting activities makes it a youth hub. The building has a graffiti area, skate area and dancing training area. Apart from the above amenities, the building also has a chat room, media hub room and a common area. The activities within the building make it a must see place for teenagers.

Nice place to hang out with friends for food. Has fairly abundant f&b options like KBBQ, Aston’s, fish and chips and Korean ramen. Theres also a bar that opens in the evening. Tends to get crowded during the weekend evenings at the bar!

Dont expect an amazing shopping experience though! Many shops are not open and the selection is quite limited. The scape underground as of writing this review is also currently undergoing revamping works.

There is a big area at level 4 where most dancers practice there. A few mirrors are placed around so it’s a good place for practice. On level 4, there is also a hidden study area that many may not know of since it was pretty empty when I was there. Has power plugs and food and drinks nearby.

I don’t really understand what this place is or what it is trying to achieve. It looks like a converted parking lot. However, local youths seem to like it for dance on the top floor, which is a win for them. Otherwise there are no shops here and no reason for a tourist to visit.

I grew up with SCAPE as a dancer. Having a public space to practice with other like-minded individuals is truly a joy. Whether it is bboy-ing, hip-hop, contemporary and more, there will always be people practising. Although it can be especially crowded on weekends, there is usually enough space to find a spot. More mirrors have been installed and such initiatives by the management is truly appreciated.

A gallivanting ground for the youths of Orchard Road. At the basement you have a mini street market selling clothes and ornaments that cater to the punk-rock rebels. Inside the building you have gaming cafes that provide diverse activities from traditional board games to modern virtual gadgets. Quite a few shops are closed in Scape, ice scream units, board game + console rental units (just to mention a few) though spaces around the building can be used to chill without being chased.
