Simple and good tasting Thai food, price is not bad. Friendly waitresses are from Thailand. Going there reminds me of BKK. I like their honey chicken, stir fried vege, clear Tom yum, green curry and fresh coconut.

Went to have lunch on Thursday with my friend as we are shopping for new year clothing. To the authorities, please take note of their safety distancing while dining. Initially we were sat down to another patron less than 1m. Flagged to the staff and they said that it’s SAFE. What you mean by safe when the other patron is just seated closely behind my chair in an adjacent angle. The staff doesn’t even have space to cross behind me. Only Tom Yum soup and Thai Ice tea is worth mentioning.

We bought our own food for our 4 yo as most of the food was too spicy for her. Was told by the staff that was not allowed.

I think that’s fair – their place, their rules, but parents should take note. There is a Bali Thai downstairs that exercises flexibility for kids.

Food was reasonable. We were served quickly on a saturday night as it was one of the few restaurants with no queue, but unfortunately we cant come back again unless we are prepared to have my 4yo stare at us eat…

Good food, reasonable prices, fast and efficient service. This restaurant is a bit small, though, only about 10 tables, each seating 4. My friends and I, 7 of us, had to be split up and separated at opposite ends of the restaurant.

LOVED the GREEN CURRY CHICKEN it is SUPERB blended in coconut taste and the rest of the ingredients.
My DAUGHTER LOVED the SWEET SOUR FISH SET and even suggest to come back and bring his brothers to have lunch at SAKON THAI.
My WIFE gave a THUMBS UP for the DESSERT she had. The DELICIOUS sets of MANGO GLUTINOUS RICE and SWEET TAPIOCA both comes with COCONUT MILK.
Unfortunately, for the list of drinks is a norm which may be available elsewhere.

As a first time eating here, I would say the food was decent, love their Tom Yum soup and their milk tea(because not so sweet) though, the fried rice quite nice, but their dessert was quite disappointing as I ordered their mango with sticky rice dessert, the rice was slightly sweet and gritty, yet the mango wasn’t, and the food is pricey. They can improve more on their dessert. Overall, a decent experience from this restaurant.

My wife and I went there for a weekend lunch.

My wife discovered this place after eating there with her colleagues.

The kang kongs are a blast. Sambal, Thai sauce, its all good. Its fragrant and lip smacking good.

Basil minced meat was also fantastic. Everything pairs really well with white rice.

If possible, you will want to try their pineapple fried rice separately because if you eat everything at one go you will exceed the daily recommended calories really quickly.

You will want to go there because it is traditional or a familiar Thai food place done right

Although it was near closing, staff still allowed us to dine in.
Food is very flavorful, but it’s to be expected for Thai food. It can get quite spicy so non-spicy folks take note. There’s gonna be lots of chilli flakes.
Kinda disappointed with my salted egg chicken Tom yum fried rice. I mean I don’t taste the salted egg at all
Need to try the rest to comment, but I’ve visited other outlets before and the food is good.

Best Pad thai ive tasted so far since seah im padthai.. Nearly flawless with the tasteas what you would remember having your first pad thai in bangkok or phuket even. The tom yam was special. It was clear unlike normal.. But the taste just kicks u in the nose and you know this is the real stuff.. Special mention is to Server Liza (Hanim) who at the age of 63, shows excellence in setting the service standards at her age.. Thai milk tea a bit dissapointing but hey, Thai milk tea is thai milk tea! Sambal kangkung was fantabulous. Finished off with a cooling chendol so addictively good i didnt care they were closing.. I had to finish it up coz the creaminess just knocks u off the wall. Keep it up guys

Ambience: More people dines at dinner time and you might find yourself in queue at times, but not much crowd from about 2030 onwards

Price: Average, affordable: $15-20+/- per pax

Quality: Flavorful, generous ingredients and portions

Service: Friendly staffs even at the evening shift (dine in time about 2000H)

Must try: Hot Lemongrass Drink, Thai Style Kangkong

First time visit and it will be the last. Seafood tomyum really below standard, the soup base was not flavourful, seafood was kind of ‘frozen’ smell. Green curry with strong coconut milk taste, lacked of the essential Thai Basil flavour. Mixed vegetable was even worse, lots of China cabbage which was quite different from other Thai restaurants. The taste was not there, can’t even taste the fragrance of fish sauce, perhaps oyster sauce only. Turmeric chicken was best among all in my orders which was due to the use of boneless chicken leg. There is not many seats, given the limited dining space. Overall not price-worthy given the quality & environment compared to competitors around this area.

Food is not very cheap but all dishes were yummy. They offer set meals for 2/3/4 which you can choose the dishes quite flexibly. Ordered the set for 3, add-on green curry, seafood salad and phad thai for ~$100. I especially enjoyed the fried fish, honey chicken and iced milk tea (unlike anywhere i have tasted!). I think their clear tom yum can be more sour and seafood salad can be less salty. Apart from these all were good. Service was not too bad but we took quite awhile to get a seat as the place was small and they find it hard to accomodate 6 of us.

The quality of the dishes is a far cry from the past. It was easily the best Thai place in northpoint city. But things have changed since our last visit some time ago.

The mango salad did not resemble the Thai dish at all and was more like the Chinese snack of mango marinated in dark soy sauce.

The soup of the red tom yam with seafood was acceptable when it was served hot. However the seafood had a distinctly frozen smell.

The prawn vermicelli was probably the worst dish we had. It was supposed to be a stir fried dish but the entire dish was soaked in gravy. However the one ordered by the adjacent table was dry. There was also too much black pepper used and the taste was incredibly salty.

That was the last time we dined at this place.

The basil beef rice is just so so. The basil flavour is scanty and could be stronger. The lemongrass drink also has very light lemongrass flavour. 3 stars more so for the friendly staff and fast serving , rather than the food itself

My wife and I frequent Sakon Thai for its unique Thai cuisine and we love the set meals as you’re able to customise your choice of meals. The ambience is peaceful and the prices are affordable. The menu is filled with a variety palette of tasty dishes and comes with spicy levels for each dishes!

Mdm Dewi is a very attentive waitress and provides tip top service. We will definitely recommend foodies everywhere to try at least dine in for a very Thaiful meal! Sawadikap..

As you can see from photo it is delicious and the price still reasonable .I order Basil chicken set as it is my favourite dish as it is mixed with chili Padi and garlic I love spicy food especially from the Thai restaurant and comes which a drink in a set which we also have to pay for the ice lemon tea at a cheaper rate. What I love in a set is that it comes with a side dish spring rolls which can be quite springy and crunchy.

The food is average. I like the soup which has the Tom yum taste not like others which are overpowering sour or too hot. The lemongrass drink is well made. The Thai style Kang Kong is nice and fresh. The fried rice is a disappointment and the sotong and prawn is not fresh I suspect it’s frozen. Would have given a higher rating if the ingredients are fresh. The staff are all very polite so 4 stars.

Ordered Honey Lemon and Thai Iced tea for dinner with a friend. Serving size is pretty decent and prices are reasonable.

The taste is not that “Thai” enough but tailored fit fusion for the Singaporean palate. The restaurant is neat and perfectly situated just right at the mall entrance. Lighting conditions a bit off and mixed of blue and yellow light which gives it an ambiance for dining yet it veers away from the experience on some parts of the shop.

Service managers and crew are smiling and definitely worth a visit and makes ur dining experience a pleasant one.

Wait times might be longer and serving dishes got about 5-10 minute intervals.

The set lunch is very value for money. The portion is generous. Each set comes with the Thai milk tea. Beware of the spiciness. Opt for the non-spicy set if your threshold for chilli is low. We complimented the set lunch with a stir fried kangkung and finished the meal with a mango and glutinous rice for dessert.

Had a chance to visit this place during lunch time to try out and enjoy their lunch specials at a heavily discounted price. They call it the lunch special offer menu for a reason. Portion a little smaller but still enough to fill. Eating too much will bring you into food coma post lunch. If you are nearby and looking for some good Thai food, then drop by during lunch or even after work for Sakon dinner

A 2nd, 3rd, 4th and so on visits on different lunch days came by. Even had a takeaway and the standard still stands.

They are currently having Promotion Set Lunch for Normal WeekDays, and I would say it is a good deal. For $6.90++ (i.e. total $8.10) you have a meal and drink served to you to eat in aircon comfort in North Point City. I had the basil chicken w rice and thai ice tea on 13 Feb 2020 and the bbq beef w rice and thai ice tea on 18 Feb 2020 (photo). Tasty food and drink. Very appetizing. Thai ice tea is large and thick, not those watery type. The thai ice tea is already worth $4.30++ if ordered ala carte. The only downside is that somehow for my bbq beef rice, the beef was not piping hot (i.e. only lukewarm). The 5 stars is more for the good deal.
