This is one of the best Nasi Padang in Singapore. The salad (cannot remember the name) was very tasty with crunchy bits. The Ayam rendang is very tender and lemak, definitely a must try. The beef lung rendang is also very delicious.

Had lunch today over at Sabar Menati for their Nasi Padang. its a walking distance from Nicole highway and bugis Mrt station. there was quite a variety of dishes to choose from.

I Had the squid with black ink sauce, eggplant and a omelette and my meal came up to SGD7. For that pricing, the portion was quite small in my opinion. Food was not bad, i enjoyed my meal. Not sure if it was just me but the chilli sauce was unbearably salty.

Good food, good portion and reasonably priced, can be full during lunchtime and queues for takeaways can be long too but guests are served promptly and fast especially of you are ordering the pre-cooked menu. It may take slightly longer if you order the sides that need further preparation but the servers are fast and efficient. Pre-cooked dishes are fresh and warm too with complete varieties of the most popular Padang dishes served with yummy chilly. Dessert is nice and the wide varieties of kue basah is perfect for you to bring home to your loved ones or as snack later

Food is ok. Service sucks. Better ask for pricing before agreeing to buy dishes. The one serving will not tell you what’s the cost. Its the one seated at the payment counter who will calculate and tell you the price.. I bought one plastic container of lemak daun pucuk ubi for sgd $10/-… it is a small plastic container. For vegetable… or daun. Come on got to be serious… best joke so far for yr 2017. Anyway, they can never beat pariaman. Authentic, and well priced. Great service. The one packing for you does the counting.

I’ve been dining at Sabar Menanti since the 90s when they were at the corner of Baghdad and Kandahar, when they moved to the middle of Kandahar and where they now reside on North Bridge Road. The food is excellent, the continuity maintained by the current owner’s mother.
The curries are always a little on the strong side, which I like. I think Indonesian nasi padang is best savoured robust rather than subtle. It’s good, hearty, spicy, flavourful fare. That’s what you get here. Specialities are the beef and chicken rendangs, the sambal goreng, ikan bakar, and the tahu telur.
The desserts are irresistible. During Ramadan, they do so,etching called kueh jongkong. You’ve got to try it.
