MacRitchie walks, a circle is 11 kilometers. This one is 5km/6km right in the middle. It is the only water station in the middle of the whole journey. There is an exit here for the expressway, but there is still a long distance from the expressway, so it is not recommended to take this exit.

    麦里芝徒步,一圈是11公里。这个位于正中间5公里/6公里处。是全程唯一的中途水站。这边有一个出口上快速路,不过离快速路还有很久的距离,不建议从这个出口出。

One and only rest area with toilet and water cooler facilities in the heart of macrithie reservoir. It is exactly located 4.5km if you are entering the macrithie reservoir trail from anti-clockwise direction and 5.5km if you choose the clockwise direction to start the trail adventure. So don’t miss it, otherwise the other place that has such facilities is at centre, at the start point near the carpark area.

Convenient rest point midway through any hike. Access to any of the sights is just a short hike from here, and then out of the Reserve. Can access the Jelutong tower, Tree top walk, Venus boardwalks, the Pasir Panjang tracks (linking to the Wallace museum and Bukit Timah hill tracks), the Rifle Range area, and of course MacRitchie reservoir tracks. Can probably access the Pierce reservoirs, but I haven’t the faintest idea of the tracks. Still, the existing tracks are more than enough for weekend walking!

Congrats. You are halfway to the treetop. You will see sightings of a new friend here also – please dont feed them. Here you can refill your bottle or go to the restrooms available. From here your walk will be scaling up. Quite a challenge here.

Pro tip : Sometimes monkey will “be on your way”. Dont smile or look at them. Since they interpret it differently. Also, eating in front of them is a big no no.

Although there is no big ups and downs, it is up and down. It takes more than 11 kilometers to reach the treetop suspension bridge and the bus station. It requires good physical strength, but it is worth a try.
There are many runners along the way, and there are places to shower and wash shoes in the park, as well as lockers, which are nice, but very humid.

A good midpoint stop with water coolers, vending machines and toilets for those who need it. The monkeys hanging around are quite a sight, but stay away, don’t carry plastic bags as they will assume it’s food and they may either follow you or grab it. Monkeys are wild animals so expect that if you taunt them they will bite or scratch. Best to ignore them and move on. Screaming boys/girls (adults included) or children just make a bad situation worse so please exercise some good judgement.
