We went for family lunch recently. I love the ambience and service is excellent. The Service staff Siti was very good and take care our needs in the family hall. Nothing great about buffet items. Chat items are quite standard. They served thandoori salman and dokla which is excellent. Sweets are very good. Quite bad experience with masala dosa as the batter not fermanted. Price is still higher for the considering main course. I like mint tea and fernal tea.. May Not visit again.

    Not a good experience!
Staff couldn’t be bothered and the food was not good but expensive. Restaurant dowdy and no atmosphere – I didn’t even have s side plate. It took them half an hour to get us a drink – how they were Michelin starred I don’t know

Located on the 3rd floor of the Pan Pacific Hotel, Rang Mahal is a contemporary Indian restaurant which combines traditional Indian dishes with Western flavors. The restaurant has a chic and dark interior. The menu has an extensive choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The meat is halal. Presentation of dishes is original, but the taste is not exceptional. The service was quick and extremely friendly!

Lunch menu was “outstanding” starters fish, avocado Hara kebab, chicken starters were the best I have eaten and so so fresh.
If you’re like good quality food don’t miss this!!

Tested vegetarian food. Their Tandoor Sampler was amazing with Portobello Mushrooms, Samosa and Cheese Tikki. Perfectly grilled and tests perfect. Another best thing was Jalebi!

Their lunch buffet is undoubtedly best Indian buffet in town. Service is top notch indeed.

Executive Chef Vinod comes to you and asks about food test and any changes you want in the dish. that was really pleasing.

Highly recommended to any Indian food lover.

So finally I visited this place when only 2 people were allowed on a single table.

The ambience was quite nice and we decided to take thali instead of going for ala carte.

We started with Gol Gappa and I would say it was not that great. The sprouts in the masala killed it for me and the paani was less.

Thali starts with Soup (option of tomato soup and broccoli). It tasted okay. After that we were given main course which included dal, paneer, fried okra, avocado kebab, naan, rice and raita. While the taste was okay the good part was you can refill everything once. With the refill the quantity was as good as unlimited.
Finally dessert included rasmalai and was very good.

Overall a nice place to go to. One less point for the food.

Being there on my wife’s birthday. We tried set meal and it was awesome.
It started with soup served in very unique way and followed by delicious set meal food.
We were attended by Mr.Azim and really appreciate their hospitality.
Staff are well trained and found cautious and supervised even when serving soup on table.
    Must try restaurant.

Incredible setting and a favorite of mine for an upscale, “local flavor” business dinner. However, I’m a bit skeptical as to how much you can make Indian food gourmet, and there are many options in my view in Singapore that are just as good for much less money.

Premium, but delicious Indian culliary experience. Excellent service staff and light ambient music in the background, Rang Mahal offers great food. Loved the presentation of the food too.

Nice ambience, very attentive staff. The food is good but not up to the standard expected for a fine dining. Both the mutton curry and lamb briyani that we had were not tender as what expected. The meat was too tough and hard to chew.

Though saying so, other dishes like Panipuri and butter chicken were nice. The chicken was tender, creamy and tasty.

The food is generally good but I would find other less pricey Indian food for the quality it is.

I have been visiting Rangmahal for more than 2 decades. It used to serve buffet lunch which had a plenty of options for both vegetarian and non-vegetarians. Never had we any occasion to complain.
However, buffet lunch option has been withdrawn and instead it has been replaced with Thali option apart from a la carte.
As per my experience, buffet and Thali options are preferred by the customers since it is no brainer.
I was not impressed with Thali option since it has several items which looks cheap and doesn’t help to impress the customer.
I had Thali with alot of good restaurants. They serve food in silverware and impresses with their variety of items.
This restaurant is not cheap and can change menu and presentation. This restaurant will have to innovate in order to survive and improve its image in lines with others globally.

Food tastes Ok. Lamb Biriyani was good. Ambience was good. Overall Ok…
Avoid the signature Lamb Kebab. Not worth the money. Service is good. Even juice choices for kids are minimal. (No apple juice)
Mixers not chilled have to have with ice….
Keep expectations down maybe avoid if you can’t ignore the cost compared with the food…

I went on 9 Sept for dinner. Ordered apam which was a complete disappointment! The 2 pieces came cold n was so lacy that they stuck to d plate. I make n have eaten great apams. D traditional apam should gave a good crust around while d small center is soft and pillow like. High time d cooks here r sent for lessons before offering apam on d menu! The prawn curry had d tail shells n part of upper shell on. It would be good to ask guests if they want prawn tails removed at d time order is taken. Desserts should be improved . Think of new desserts than d usual ones.

We tried the lunch Thali. Gorgeous food, lovely ambience and caring staff. The butter chicken, lamb were succulent, soft and so so creamy! Haven’t had any better in Singapore. The black daal was certainly a huge delight!!

Recieved 15 mins earlier than expected.
Food quality was good as usual and quantity was more than enough for 2 pax.

Bad Delivery Packaging – Starters were a bit soggy when reached us. One sauce was spilled inside the carry bag.
No salad – not even sliced onion & lemon.
Expensive – Delivery option is not value for money. Dining experience is much better.

We had lunch on 10 Nov 2022 and were highly disappointed with the level of service and food quality. While we have had lunch/dinner in the past, pre-COVID and we were happy, but this experience was bad. The place is expensive, however, one does not get value for money spent. Hope the Management visits some Italian and French restaurants in Singapore itself, where for the same price one can get to eat good quality food and excellent service. ‘Indian food’ has a global brand and every restaurant serving Indian food has a role to improve this reputation.

The butter chicken was I believe 46$. Somewhere close to that. The food tasted like the kind I would get at Al Amaans or any street side Indian restaurant in Singapore. Not to say that this is a bad thing whatsoever, but this should not be the case for the price. It is simply lazy. The desserts and appetisers can be delicious and unique, but I would recommend skipping the mains, if you want to maximise the value for your money.

We had a lovely dinner. The food was amazing and what I enjoyed most was the avocado kebabs, the lambchop starters, the different chutneys that accompanied the dishes, the lychee rose kulfi, the soursop sorbet ( free starters) , the masala chai. We couldn’t quite figure out what went into the light but flavourful avocado kebabs but every mouthful was so delicious, together with the lotus root crisp that was part of the dish. The lambchop starters were also juicy and tender, done just right!
But what made the evening special for us was the warmth of the staff and the attention with which they served us. Mr Martin was ever ready to explain to us what each dish was and made the evening even more memorable with a surprise brownie when he found out we were there to celebrate my aunt’s birthday. We also received very good service from Ms Rajes who also surprised us with another dessert when there was a minor slip up regarding the food.
The meal was a little pricey but it was worth it, as we had a wonderful time!

Decent Indian food but way overpriced.. restaurant has moved away from serving hearty delicious Indian food to more “fancy show off Instagram friendly” food… all the weird ideas such as serving pani puri in a shot glass didn’t add any plus point to the dish…

Had light dinner and beer. The chicken tikka masala was good.. not too spicy yet not bland to cater to non Indian palate. Naan could have been better. Seems it was made ahead of time and warmed.

Service and ambience, decor etc were top class of course and so was the price!

The beer is much more costlier than the Atrium bar at the lobby level, which in turn is not cheap, so best is you drink elsewhere and dine here. Unless of course it doesn’t matter.

Overall no regrets, but in terms of price vs taste I wouldn’t call it outstanding.

A very nice Indian restaurant. All the food was excellent, and the location is very nice. We liked the prawns, the lamb and palak paneer. The wine list is pricey unless you get the house wines, which are adequate. The drinks are OK though they advertise martinis, and the twists in them were lime instead of lemon, which is weird. Truely a fine dinning place however the food didnt match upto our expectations. We ordered the 3 course meal however we werent impressed by the flavours, probably the spices were toned down to suit international pallate. We have had better Indian food at places much cheaper than this in Singapore.

Rang Mahal is a fine-dining Indian restaurant.

Had a work dinner there and this is definitely a place to impress if you have important guests to entertain.

Ambience is very classy yet cosy, and not overly chi-chi.

Service staff is prompt and attentive.

Do the set dinner menu if you wish to get the decision-making out of the way quickly.

Service was excellent. I was there for a birthday meal with my husband and the lovely staff made him a complimentary birthday cocktail. That was a nice touch. I enjoyed the food. I’ve only had local Indian food in the past and never set foot in India so I have no real basis for comparison. I found the dishes of my Thali set menu interesting and very filling.

Food below average. Service decent. We went here for our anniversary dinner (big mistake) and it was a forgettable experience. I’m a below average cook and even my dishes taste better than what I tasted here. We ordered an avocado kebab which reminded us of the falling global oil prices. Because all the global oil excess was parked in that kebab. Also, I just can’t understand how can someone screw up basic dishes like dal and paneer. If you want to spend lavishly for a meal, please go to some other place.

The only saving grace was the service. They made sure our meal ended with a small ‘brownie with ice cream’ surprise which was pretty good. That’s the only reason I’m giving it an additional star.

Rang Mahal is one super expensive, fine dining indian cuisine restaurant. Like in most super premium restaurants, the quantity they serve is too small, so just ensure you order right.
The other aspect is the time they take. This is a place to indulge. You come as a guest, order whatever you want and then wait until you are served.
Try any indian specialities it’s definitely tasty, the quantity will allow you to try variety and obviously pay a very high price just like in case of any expensive fine dine restaurant.

Had lunch on Father’s Day. Really appalling service , most times they would service food on plate. But one time when they didn’t serve knocked over a mojito drink and made us pay for a replacement which most other restaurants wound give a replacement. Pani Puri was served without the Tamrind chutney, butter chicken was the worst. Only thing was good was the avacado kebab and the desert. Wouldn’t go here again. Better alternatives elsewhere at fraction of cost.

We have visited Rang Mahal 4 times. We have always been impressed by the holistic experience. But this last visit, something was off. Hope they can get back their act soon.

The ambience of the restaurant was good, but that’s about it.

The food is just about average. We ordered a fondue starter (chicken+garlic naan). The chicken Kebabs were very very dry which is inexcusable for such a restaurant!

Additionally we ordered a chicken biryani which was good. The konkani prawn curry was decent too. But I was surprised that this is a South Indian dish and there were no South Indian dishes to complement it (no appams/beer dosa) I wonder what the Konkani dish would act as a good complement to.

Let’s get this out of the way… as is the case with fusion restaurants, they always tend to get bad reviews from people expecting “authentic” foods.

Rang Mahal presents some really creative dishes using the flavors of the straits through the medium of Indian cuisine.

The butter chicken bao was delicious. The bao was made more doughy than typical bao and did a great job absorbing the creamy richness of the butter chicken filling.

The Anokhi Subz featured a fragrant concoction of chestnuts and fox nuts and paired splendidly with fenugreek naan.

The Parsi Kheema Par Edda featured delicious spicy minced lamb with a raw egg cracked in kind of like shakshuka. It was rich, perfectly spiced, and paired with delicious mini buns.

Service was excellent although some of the waiters seemed inexperienced for a brief moment (confused about which tables get which dishes).

I would give high marks on ambiance. Servers were constantly hovering around, in that regards, service could be better. Food is acceptable but not excellent. Quantity is very small.
The main issue is value. 500ml water is 9 dollars- which gives you an idea. Wine bottles are generally over 150 dollars. If you do NOT order wine, appetizer and dessert, expect to spend around 60 dollars per person. If you order two of these three, expect to spend in excess of 100 dollars per person. So if the bill is simply not a concern, go for it. Else I would consider options such as Mirchi in Esplanade Theaters nearby which will cost you 1/2 to 40% of what it will cost here for taste that is at least as good as this place.

Ambience is fantastic. Relaxed atmosphere, quiet enough to have a conversation but not snooty that you have to watch cutlery clanging together.

Unfortunately, food left much to be desired. For the price they’d like to command, RM needs to do alot better. Generally, food had too much salt which masked the spices that I’ve come to appreciate with Indian cuisine. Lamb in briyani was not tender and had to be cut by knife to eat, and I would have liked a strong saffron fragrance. Prawns in curry were fresh, however, the curry was far too sour besides the salt issue. Dal mahkani was too watery for my liking and lacked the robust butteriness that I am more inclined towards. Aubergine was butchered into far too small pieces, and felt more like puree.

    Staff were pleasant and attentive.

Rang Mahal has fallen back into being unpredictable, for the worse. The phase over that past 2-3 years with a rock solid consistency in menu options, is now sadly a thing of the past. The buffet has been replaced by a set lunch, which is as underwhelming as the bland food and inconsistent presentation. The service staff try, but they don’t have much to work with.
