It’s been awhile since the last time I had a meal here. Since I was around the area, decided to have lunch here. The food is still just as good as what I remember it was back then. I had the Thai style fried rice and the mrs had her claypot noodles. Now we just have to scan the QR code to access the menu and make our order. Once done, just make our payment at the counter. Service was excellent.

All foods are tasty with reasonable price. It Halal and servings size was generous. I have been patronizing more than 20 over years. Since my courtship till now I have 2 daughters and they love the foods too. The Chinese Boss is very friendly and humble person. Servers are attentive too. One star less because of the seating area was quite cramp and crowded at times. Items are poorly storage. After all I love all the foods there. Best Halal Wanton noodles I ever had. Yummy !!

Came here as I’m craving for their fried wanton and would like to let my sister try it. Ordered 2 fried wanton noodles and 1 large fried wanton. Asked to pay at the counter, bill was supposed to be $23+ but said $70+, it was a system error so they calculated manually. Ordered no chili but came with chili but after telling them, they changed it. Asked for extra sweet black sauce, told me they will just refill it but I wanted another one for my sister so we don’t share the sauce for hygiene and of course we are taking precautions due to covid. Came with excitement but lost appetite due to poor service.

Halal food, service was ok, food was equally ok, and by ok I mean I would go back but it wasn’t amazing. Singapore must have a thing with napkins cuz some restaurants like this one either don’t give them to you or give you some that fall apart when you use them. The place next door to here was an absolute mad house though. There was a line to eat at the restaurant next door.

This humble halal food stall has been around since I was in secondary school. Up to this day, it has never changed my mind that this is the best ever HALAL NOODLE local delights in Singapore.

For those first timers, order their famous Honeydew Red Gravy Wanton Noodle.

The wanton noodle is fully covered with a thick red gravy with baby kailan & Sambal.

And here comes the best part. It is served with generous amount of steamed wanton!!!

Since it’s halal, the Wanton is stuffed with prawn paste that is so delicious.

Like myself, I always add-on the wantons, and it only cost me another $3. Therefore the bowl is only $5 + $3 in total.

Those who can’t take spicy, veggie etc.
Not to worry at all. Just request your preferences to the approachable auntie and they will alter the food accordingly.

If your stomach still have enough space for more, order the combo snack of fried wanton and you cha kueh!!!

It is fried upon order, and it will definitely be served crispy and served with mayonnaise and sweet soy sauce respectively for the wanton and char kueh.

Wanton is the same stuffed dumplings with prawn paste. But this time it is deep fried instead of the steam ones. So you can enjoy the different textures of crispy and steamed.

While char kueh is stuffed with a generous amount of squid paste and white sesame seeds before it is deep fried to perfection.

Hope this helps. Enjoy the food there!!!
    I promise you never regret!
    CHEAP and SEDAP!!!!

A good place to eat when you are around orchard! This place is located at Far east plaza at the top most level. Food pricing is afforable than other places. Shop is halal certified. The food served was delicious and the wait time was not that long too eventhough the shop has many customers and also people waiting to be seated due to the covid measurements placed. The claypot beef rice was delicious as it was cooked in soy sauce and the beef is soft to bite into.

Had to wait a while for seating because there is ALWAYS a queue for this place which I don’t get. Food was ok, nothing worth queuing for unfortunately.

The food has been amazing for years and still amazing but the service isn’t that great anymore.

Bought 1 large fried wanton and 1 large the sotong thingy for to go with many other ala carte fried rice, honey dew chicken noodle and all. Didnt know how much Condiments were given (apparently only 1 small mayo and 2 even smaller black sauce). Asked Auntie if I can get 1 more of the small container of black sauce and mayo. Auntie mentioned its 50c each. So, I said its ok.

Then she go on telling me that everyone wants extra Condiments to eat with something else. She also mentioned some even asked for extra fried rice. Honestly, I don’t get the purpose of her saying that. I didnt even ask her to explain plus, why is she indirectly accusing me of getting free Condiments to eat with other food? She can simply said its chargeable and I’m fine with that.

Due to this, my perspective of the place changed by alot. My used to be favourite place in Orchard (Patroned since primary school) isn’t on top of my list anymore. It’s sad.

I’ve visited them several times, and I like their generous potion of salted egg sauce!
Regretted to have ordered add-on egg this time…
As for ingredients, fish is more recommendable imo.
I’m sure I’ll visit them again soon!

Fantastic food. I love the mee goreng. To me, it’s better than the mee goreng in big Chinese restaurants like Jumbo which I just had a few days ago at a fraction of the price. Will come back when in the area

Look at the picture. These are three “deadly” dishes that you must try.

    1) Honeydew Chicken Noodle
    2) Fried Wanton, Springroll and Char Kuey
    3) Hokkien Mee
4 KongPoh Chicken *edited in see below.

Very friendly and sometimes funny staff, great hospitality, great vibe and most importantly, HALAL for Muslims!

    —-

Edit: 22 Aug 2020: Today, we tried the Kong Poh Chicken (spelled in menu), which i believed is actually called KungPao chicken.

I tell you, don’t be fooled by the “hospital food look and plate colour! This is seriously DELICIOUS ! Especially those who love Spicy stuff!!

A variety of Malay/Chinese/Indonesian food. My favourite dish I always order each time I visit is salted egg chicken with chicken rice (as recommended by a friend). Other favourites includes the fried wanton. Pairs well with a glass of lime juice! Prices are affordable.
