Pleasant dining setting that comes with acceptable food and drink quality. Service turnaround for take-away orders was slower than acceptable during no-dine in period of COVID-19.

Stick to the Nash Lemak and Ipoh Hor Fun. Avoid the cheesy macaroni which comprised of baked beans, a slice of plastic cheese, a hot dog and macaroni. Vomit quality

Queue can be quite long on weekends for lunch. Otherwise, standard Old Town White Coffee experience. Not open for breakfast though

Understandably packed, since Coastal PlayGrove is spanking new and all the families are there. Really enjoyed the Curry Mee; Nasi Lemak, on the other hand, I wouldn’t recommend at all. Rice lacked fragrance, wasn’t Lemak, and the sambal chilli was more sweet and flat, than spicy.

Old Town returned to this location after major renovation. Better view than the former cafe. We were there for lunch. The food was still the same old “old town” features. Nice. But the staff were a little disorganised. I think they must be new recruit and were not fully organised for the Sunday crowd. Hope the service will improve over time.

Nice ambiance but it’ll be great if they can add new selection to their standard offerings.

The Ipoh horfun soup with shredded chicken and prawns is a bit disappointing and the lemon tea is overly steeped. Van look into improvements.

    Crew service is overall okay.

Came here during weekday for lunch. Fairly empty and good ambience as it is next to the beach. Food is fairly good. However, the chicken chop rice I was a bit disappointing as the piece of chicken was very small.

I’d rate this a 3.5 stars. It’s decent food, not too expensive, but really your run of the mill restaurant (think Starbucks for coffee). It’s a decent option near the Big Splash area, but I’d prefer sushi Tei nearby. Most of the items on the menu are pretty unhealthy, but some are good, like the hot fun with gravy.

A nice and cosy restaurant by the seaside. You can order menu digitally and the food will be served shortly. A good gathering place for family and friends where you can relax with a sea view. The Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun and the Yuan Yang coffee is delicious.

I like the ambience because it’s sea facing. Lots of green around too and big shady trees. A nature lover’s delight I’d think. This was my third time dining in and I appreciate it that they now have meatless options available. My friend had the nasi lemak with the rendang chicken. I had the meatless curry noodles. Staff are approachable and service is timely. What more could one want. I would have given it 5 stars if our drinks had been served later. The hot drinks do get cold when served together with the food. The orders are using the QR code menu and electronically submitted but payment is at the counter still.

    1) A bit disappointed when my latte came in a paper cup form instead of glass as shown in the menu
    2) potatoes in my prata curry isn’t soft enough in fact it felt crunchy w a bit of ‘raw’ taste. Not too sure if the texture is supposed to be as such as I always ensure my potatoes in my curry is cooked until soft enough.
Ok, that’s all I have to comment. Hope there will be improvement when I next visit

Came at 815pm and staff were busy cleaning up the place (Last order was listed as 830pm and closing time was 9pm, for Mondays to Thursdays). They seemed more interested in closing up the place on time, than serving customers. Not fun having my dinner while they were hastily moving chairs about and mopping the floor. All these should be done after the last customer has left. If necessary, bring forward the closing time so that staff don’t have to clean up while other customers are still eating. Felt very unwelcome.

Old Town Chicken Hor Fun (Chicken & Prawn Broth Soup with Flat Rice Noodles) at Coastal Grove Outlet is simply the best in Singapore (& even KL)! White Coffee is good too. While the Set Meals (e.g. dried Hor fun) are tempting due to the price (comes with drink), I would recommend going for the Chicken Hor Fun if you can. Very nice air conditioned place to dine in after playing with kids at Coastal Grove

“The staff can easily be replaced with robots”

This is indeed the worst outlet of oldtown coffee in terms of service.

    1. Most of the menu items are always marked as sold out with same reason everytime like we dont have white bread

    2. Service is so bad that you keep on waiting and end up eating cold food. When I asked to cancel the order after 30 mins waiting, they happily did it without any apology or update on the order. Staff has no intention to solve issues or provide customer service. That’s why they can be replaced with robots.

I had good experience at other outlets including kallang wave mall but this one is below par. Please consider closing this outlet at prime location so that it can be used by some more customer friendly vendor?

Ordered the Chicken Hor Fan and it just was not great. I wasn’t the one eating it but according to her, it took multiple bites for her to find the taste to be ok. That obviously isn’t a good sign is it.

As for me, I got the macaroni set. Didn’t take a picture since I forgot. Anyways, for 9 dollars, it gave me a whole load of nothing honestly. Was a bunch of sauce and a few measly slices of sausage thrown into a bowl, topped off with some cheese. I could have made the same thing at home for 4 dollars or less.

The staff are nice and I suspect a few of them are actually my age so no hate on them . F&B is hard I’ve worked in it before after all. Their service quality was fine, but some staff could brush up a bit more on their knowledge.

Overall, if you want a coffee and maybe some toast, by means go ahead. But if you want to eat some good food, just don’t. Spend your 20+ dollars on some actually good food. (Yes the meal cost 20+ dollars; 2 dishes and a drink)

The quality and standard has dropped considerable since before they renovated. I ordered the nasi lemak with tumeric chicken which was $18 with a coffee.

Presentation was very nice. The chicken leg was deep fried, crispy on the outside but to my disappointment, very dry on the inside, not the juicy tender chicken leg I was expecting. Probably in the freezer too long and I also found 2 French fries under it which suggested the oil had not been changed.

Coffee was not bad but doubt I’m ever coming back. Disappointing for an $18 meal

Decent cafe option at Coastal PlayGrove. I had chicken Ipoh hor fun here which was nice, light taste and makes a good breakfast meal. Used to be good. Prawn mee was lacklustre. Wife couldn’t even finish it. Nasi lemak was so-so. The sambal lacks the kick, Paparich is better. That being said, this chain used to serve some decent Malaysian cuisine. The central kitchen (I think) needs to review its recipe from its original Malaysian counterpart. This outlet opened a few months ago after the previous one closed down years ago to make way for the new development in the park. Food and beverage are same as other outlets. However, the beverages are served in disposable cups. Ambience is nice and patrons can see the park and greenery through the glass wall. Many service crews seems new and not as experienced as other outlets. It’s still a nice place to hang out after exercise and to enjoy the familiar dishes.

Food was ok only. I have not found the ooomph… for a long time. They used to be better, in terms of the taste of the meat in the Nasi Lemak, the soup of the noodles.
The location is great though facing the East Coast beach.

Very nice spot for some tea/coffee with indoor aircon seating and some open air seating overlooking the sea. There’s also a playground right there if you have children with you. Staff are polite and friendly.

Situated right beside the Playground@Big Splash, near to a kids water play park, this is a good place for a meal for family with kids. With plenty of indoor and outdoor seatings. Food wise, decent offerings and generally good food. There are many beverages to choose from and even have some unique drinks. Overall a good place to chill if you are at East Coast Park.

2 things i love, good food and good company, especially when 2 comes together. Amazing and satisfying experience even with 2 different orders. June and JuJie in the team killing it despite the dine in crowd, managing my takeaway order flawlessly. Woohoo

Coffee drinks are good but the nasi lemak does not offer value money. Food is only near warm and not as tasty as expected for the price paid. There are better tasting nasi lemak at lower price in similar set ups.

Decent appetisers, but amazing kaya toast. I was sceptical at first hearing about the praise but it is better than your regular hawker fare by miles.

In singapore, by far, oldtown has hor fun that taste the closest to the authentic one in ipoh. Wanton mee was great too though a tad too sweet.

A Bit Pricey local meals. KOPI set is pricey too. I wish they can improve the toast. 😉

Tried their peanut butter french toast, and their original blend coffee, it was so satisfying! Frenchtoast was soft inside and a bit crunchy outside and the best part was the melting butter on top. The staffs were friendly, quiet place, and good view from sea side

We decided to take the bikes ‍️‍️out to East Coast Park… Lo and belold! It started drizzling ️ just minutes into our ride we had to stop and headed straight into OldTown before the rain got any heavier

We enjoyed what we ordered – good ole Wantan Mee Chicken Porridge Tomato Soup Macaroni on a nice cool weekend morning didn’t disappoint us. Flavourful, with just enough of seasoning that we didn’t have to add more. Tasted like something we would cooked at home… We know, we know… We can be shameless at times… The balance of flavours suit out palette and we’re not complaining

We wanted to also add that the service staff were patient, obliging and helpful. By the time we had out lunched served, it was pouring ️ they asked us if we were cold and would like to have the aircon tempreture turned up. They made our dining experience pleasant and comfortable. Kudos to you! You deserve an extra

Food is yummy. Portion is decent. Price ok ok… But why is your outlet so severely understaffed? A huge restaurant with so many al fresco and inside seating. I see the manager ridiculously busy sitting customers, serving food (running between inside and al fresco seats), collecting payment AND clearing the tables etc. I’m impressed with his customer service despite the crazy workload. Despite his best efforts, customers had to wait outside the restaurant even though there are many empty tables. And nobody is at the cashier collecting payment. At one point, there was a line of customers waiting to pay but nobody was at the cashier. All the staff were insanely busy serving customers. The turnaround of each table can be greatly improved resulting in better sales if only you have at least 1 more staff. At least have 1 more staff to just focus on sitting customers and collecting payment. Food and drinks also took very long to be ready. If the front of the restaurant is already so understaffed, I’m not surprised if the kitchen is the same.

The Nasi Lemak set is an all favourite. I also ordered additional Ikan Bilis Sambal for only 90cents, it was crispy, crunchy and nice level of spiciness.
