The store caters to the locals, especially the older people. It’s no longer the place to get bargains. The offerings have become more expensive over the years
I have not been to OG for about 20 years and little did i realised it has been transformed to a nice shopping place with up to date stuffs. Of course, theres still the usual clothing meant for older people but the shoes, accesories, and esp toys department is so good. I would even say the “shopping for toy” experience is better than the likes of kiddy palace and most toysrus.
Have been a member recently and my 2nd visit in a mth so far.

This place seems to be good and nice to visits. It is not just raining and OG. Outlets is also full of life. I came over here once month for purchase of goods. The surrounding also look good to purchase all the goods I wanted. What a lovely place to visit for your entertainment or just looking around ? Nice shopping place spread over 3 floors..only issue is that they will close at sharp 8.30PM, need to be there early if a relaxed shopping is intended.

Have not been here for a while….. Post Circuit Breaker, it is less crowded. Always one of my stops when I need kitchen utensils, prices are comparable to other mainstream stores.

Didnt find much good bargain
Just to share, do check the clothing that you buy even if it is nicely pack inside a plastic bag. Sometime there may be defect. Example
1)cloth some minor “line”, if you didnt see clearly, you wont notice
2)sewing work on the sleeve look loose, so if you didnt check maybe after wearing, the thread may come off.
So do a rough check.
I very like come here shopping, you know why ?? It was a family shopping mall . Cos before I just stay at Rochor Centre only. At year 2010 Nov. Now no more Rochor Centre . Hehe OG when offer ,we must go there shopping, it got a lot of stuff can buy and I feel the prices are OK for me . Not expensive. Love it so much . Everything that I like to buy ,can buy at there .

Great place to buy household items
This OG has nice stretchable (at waist) working pants for fat guys like me. Shirts are not cheap but you can always find some promotions especially when you buy a few pieces. Remember to sign up as member in September when you just need to purchase $75 and above. Other months would be $300 and above in a single receipt (or maybe receipts in same day). Member benefits quite good.. Especially for the special price items you can get using points. Their baby and child products and toys are really huge variety. I started going OG when I needed to shop for baby stuff.. I love the chocolate stuff at level 3 too.. Surely pack some home.. Oops.. Is it why I need new and bigger pants.. LOL.

Wonderful place for shopping, particularly during Christmas period. It certainly is my favourite. Examples…it offers a wide range of t-shirts for casual wear and golf. They offer a wide ranging household product also. It is certainly one stop shop for me.
Staff was attending to other customers regarding the lucky draw that he didnt even bother to help my dad. Furthermore can say not free. What kind of attitude is that!? You can ask another colleague to attend to my dad.He waited for quite long and he decided to go back. However the cashier/counter lady was quite helpful and she was the one who key in the particulars for my dad.The staff who was rude to my dad shld learn how to talk properly and not only entertain chinese customers but also other race customers as well. Especially if they are elderly.

I visited OG at Albert branch on the 2nd of October. I purchased some outfits and then came to the ground floor to purchase a small card and coin purse. As i am actually renewing my membership card. I had so much of difficulties on loging in with my password before i could make any payments. It was a peak hour to get any assistance from the staff at the counter but inspite of the non stop and continous queue the staff on duty, unfortunately i forgot her name, took the efforts on guiding me. I successfully logged in. She was so dedicated and pleasant with a good customer service provided. I thank her again for the satisfaction experience.

First time going to this store. 3 storeys of almost everything from clothing’s, apparel, kids, household, kitchen, and even winter clothing. It was surprisingly crowded. Bought a pair of Everlast sandals for my son for a steal.
The OG building has three floors that you can shop from. It is really big inside and there are a lot of things that you can buy there. i have recently went there to buy a pan. There was great service as well as a friendly salesman to help you choose your pan of preference. It was a great time there and you can really purchase lots of things, such as clothings, snacks, shoes etc. A really good place to shop.

A busy shopping mall targeted at the older local and tourist shoppers. The range of kitchenware available is of surprisingly good quality, and some are pretty unusual. There are also live demos to give you tips on how to cook and use the ware.
Outside the mall, I wish the environment could have been cleaner and more attractive.

“Eng San Ginseng & Birdnest”, located at 180 Bencoolen St, #01-32, THE BENCOOLEN, a building just beside OG Albert.
This shop sell all kinds of dried foods at very reasonable price. All staff there are very friendly and helpful. We were there today searching for dried foods for an auspicious occasion (wedding -guo da li), and an aunty staff was so helpful. She provided us with valuable advice for the occasion, helped us to re-package all the necessary with no extra cost and yet gave us good price for the purchase.

I was passing by and decided to visit the store for a short while. I sense the place is more compact and filled with more products; relatively lesser free spaces compared to some other shopping centres. Although it is near to Albert Centre… human traffic within OG was light. Sales staff approached was helpful and even lingered on for a while to ensure i find what i needed. Hopefully the weekend crowd brings better business opportunity given the good attitude of the staff.

It’s my wife’s favourite shopping place besides the other stalls at Orchard and People’s Park. She has been with all the OGs stalls for 40 over years.
The price of blouses have increased tremendously. Those days, the OG member card is of no use. Whatever points you earned is really hopeless. For eg. When one wants to redeem what’s on offer, you still have to pay partially. I find that this is not fair and at that point of time I wanted to stop my wife from going to OG stalls.
As of the recent 1 to 2 years, things have changed (for the better). All points awarded were converted to $$$
Value and customers can make use of the $ points to pay for their purchases.
She will looked for the regular Sales person who usually made good recommendations. This is usually at the OG People’s Park outlet.
People can’t wait to start shopping but it’s not overly crowded.
Usually will only patron OG during their membership renewal period and CNY period, as will have huge discounts.

A heartlander shopping paradise with many popular brands and extremely friendly service staff. There is also a restaurant there but not too humble price tags. A must visit place for all locals if you wish to find good bargains.
You can look around all day and won’t have enough to spend there, they sell a lot of products and their staff is active to help out. Was looking for bedsheets and the sales person actually went downstairs to their store to look for more design and bought them up. Very good service.

Very good store. You will be able to get all of the things you could think from a department store. They run offer campaign time by time which is also very attractive mostly. A bit disappointed, this place closed earlier than expected. They closed at 830pm instead of the published time 930pm.
This OG outlet serves mainly women clothing and footwear. With international perfumes displaying many high end Brands. Situated near bugis mrt makes it easily accessible for pedestrians.
Went to check out different brands of woks, as i do not want any with coating, too heavy or too small. Ended up buying one which is more than 25% cheaper than what was found online.

One of cheapest selling mall where the discount were up to 70%. Yes come here and spend all your money. This mall can be reached by walking through the Bugis street market until you reach the centre square where a huge deity structure can be seen. This mall similar to Jusco famous in KL.

Well recommended place to shop as all staff are very keen and kind to spend time to explain. Maybe it’s because of COVID, there isn’t much customers, so they can spend more time with me.
But really, if this was the standard back then (pre-covid) in 2014 when I was working here, and it’s STILL the same now in 2021, then OG has done really well to maintain the standard despite the calamities / pandemic that is looming around the corner.

It is very great place in Singapore for buying clothes during the month of Christmas. The store offer the good price, off from 15% to 75%.
There are many discounted items range from household items, clothes, health foods, travel bags etc. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is a good place to shop.

OG seems to the last dame of department stores to stay alive. Long gone emporium, sogo, yaohan, John little, now isetan and Robinson, even taka are struggling. Hope this one stays longer, even though the shift in shopping habits will drive them to losses. Sigh…..

Oriental Garment is a shopping complex that has been a round to have their brand shape.ibto every Sinvaporen. They were famous for offering ladies garment at a time when it was common for ladies to make their own dresses. Ladies would purchase an attire that they would always be proud of.
A departmental store in its own building by itself, one of the few surviving Departmental stores in Singapore. Some items may seem to be more pricey, but overall it’s still on a market level and a good place for the older generations
I come here for everything kid friendly, from clothes to snacks to toys to shoes… And also good for travel gear. Love the proximity of good food just next door too.
They got everything under one roof especially apparels for men in all age groups which is one thing other mall won’t care much of.
There are clothes, shoes, handbags for shoppers cos can see can feel and compare colours so ppl prefer to buy in store. Some vitamins and honey are for health conscious ppl. There is a restaurant for ppl to dine in air con space, some are vegetarian dishes.
Pretty good shopping variety in a large store. Except the toilets are extremely dirty and foul-smelling because they are patronised by every Tom, Dick and Harry from the streets outside, not just shoppers. Not to mention the long queue to use the toilet, especially the ladies which has queue stretching 20 metres out into the shopping area. However, good air-conditioning makes it a comfortable shopping experience, other than the disgusting toilets. Kindly deploy janitors to clean them more often please. I really mean, more often! Thanks. There simply isn’t a janitor in sight.
Shopped at OG after praying at temple. All the sales assistants I met were pleasant and very helpful. The sales promoter (her name tag was written Hue Ping) at Skechers has the best service. She was very patient with every request for different sizes and colours. She even helped to check that the shoes fit, while dishing out advices on different types of shoes and how they should be put on. Kudos to her, working alone and still could put on smiles for everyone while she was swarmed with requests and questions.
The cashiers were also very good as they waited patiently for a few of us to register for memberships.

Very friendly staff. The cashier helped advise with the purchase with purchase items and provided very good service. The staff manning the various product sections are also knowledgeable and provided demos on the items usage. OG is one of the old school local department stores left in SG, the others being Tangs and Metro. But OG has remained affordable and down to earth in their approach, and still employing local “aunties” as their promoters.
A mall (OG) near to famous chinese temple, hawker food, and a short walk to Bugis shopping mall and MRT.

But here is the verity of clothes, shoes, all the men’s wear and women wear can get either reasonable price I like to buy form OG quality things and happy shopping, I recommend to go there.

OG Albert has a very good collection of products. The kitchen section and the children’s section have a comprehensive range of products. The children’s dresses are on the expensive side. But, discount sale happens frequently and there is always a huge crowd at that time.

Staff at Shanghai Cheongsum department served me well. I tried 8 Cheongsums ,Price range was $100 to $200. They looked amazing.
Staff at Ladies sandals and shoes department did not attend ,they stood quietly.

I visited OG Bugis on 4th September 2021, Covid safety measures are in place.Visited men’s shoes department, Patricia served us well. Picked up Arnold Palmer shoes a few months back and Hush Puppies shoes today. They closed at 8.30 pm on Sunday, I had a positive experience at OG Bugis!!

They generally have everything and rather decently prices as well, especially on travel items and when they do have promotion u can be sure of a good deal.
After yesterday getting very bad service at OG orchard point Bonia.. Really glad that I went to OG Albert Bonia today 29 Jan 2022 @ around 12plus – 1pm.. the lady promoter is really really very nice, friendly & attentive to customers.. she is cleaning wiping her section but when she saw me standing at the wallet section.. she immediately came to me, asking if i need help.. after told her what I want in the wallet selections.. she very promptly showed me those wallets that fits my requirements, which has discount & which do not have.. within 15-20mins I already got what I want.. so happy! After that was thinking to get a small sling bag.. immediately she showed me all those that fits my requirements .. but after all her recommendations I told her I think about it 1st… she still very nicely patiently told me no worries… keeping all the bags… when i offered to help keep.. she immediately told me its ok.. she will keep… she really wow me with her great friendly attitude & services! She really very responsible staff.. after helping me.. she straight away attend to another customer!

Excellent service. Knowledgeable, look for product and recommend the choices available. Patient and bring in three sizes of hush puppies with gel heels to try and help to get the correct fit. Cashiers too are friendly reminding the expiry of membership and renewal.
While OG Albert isn’t too different from your average departmental store, it has a long history and strategic placement in the Rochor area, and so it sees somewhat higher traffic than other similar anchor departmental store tenants found in malls. Moreover, it is not uncommon to see its makeshift/mobile roller retail stands and storage units sprawling all over and outside their main entrance to grab the attention of any passerby with making impulse buys.
It is prominent as a natural result of being located in the vicinity of many amenities, something any shopper would appreciate. For one, Albert Centre Market, a humble food establishment and popular local haunt patronised by many for its affordable and palatable food fare, just lies across OG Albert. Do note that it is being renovated at the time of this review before reopening at the start of July 17. There are also independent eateries offering delectable treats ranging from vegetarian stir-fries and Hakka thunder rice (rice topped with a medley of vegetables and peanuts, soaked and taken with a peppermint broth), to a nook selling Taiwan delicacies across it. I can imagine families and casual shoppers heading down to OG Albert for some window shopping after having their meals nearby or after visiting Sim Lim Square, an electronics haven known for the co-existence of shady stores and stores which offer some really sweet deals.
The variety of goods offered by OG is decent, for you can find clothes, shoes, nutritional and beauty products, homeware, and ornaments here. Novelty isn’t their forte, but if you’re looking for run-of-the-mill products at reasonable prices, this place can’t go wrong. If you spend $75 during their OG Anniversary Sale in August, you will be awarded with a free membership that entitles you to 10% rebate on non-discounted merchandise.

Old shopping mall that badly needs an upgrade, repaint and refresh. But surprisingly still popular with aunties. Maybe it’s the never-ending bedsheets sales that’s attracting the throngs of shoppers.
Outside the OG is more vibrant, the Bugis Street, temple, shops, street food and hawker. Makes the OG somewhat out of place unable to keep up with the sights and sounds surrounding it.

There used to be many OG stores in Singapore. Now there are only 3 stores left. OG was one of the favourites for the locals. It is still worthwhile to make a trip to shop here. Fashion, shoes, kids, household, wide range of almost everything.
Many would thought that OG’s merchandise are out of time but i would argue that it isnt. OG is still a comparable mall to those of MRT malls yet maintain a sense of past memories.
Went with my sisters and brought back memories of good old days. Simple and relaxing while shopping, seeing so many old folks buying local products. Service staffs as good as before. My sisters bought 2 blouses and feeling so satisfy with her purchase. Good place to shop.
Retail prices here are still relatively competitive against other departmental stores. Crowd is lesser too. Overall a good browsing experience.

The store is not crowded at all during the time I was there. So it was a pleasant way to shop.
It has everything you would need and want under 1 roof located in an nostalgic part of town which delivers an authentic ambience of what a bona-fide local experience would be like. Located within the vicinity also are famous places of worship and peppered with local culinary delights, foot massage palours and every quaint enterprise imaginable awaiting to surprise you at each nick and corner. Did I also mentioned that OG boasts of some of the best offers in town. Thumbs up.

Alight at Rochor MRT station and walk about 5mins or Bugis MRT station and walk directly straight through Bugis Street. This 4 story department store is quite standard, selling stuff from clothes, shoes, household items etc. Its located just beside Albert Food Center and Sim Lim Square.
You can get anything from ladies, gentlemen, kids and household stuff under one roof without going to Orchard Road.

As most of the sales have added discounts for OG card members, if you do not/have not obtained that during the annual card member qualifying period, it may not be worthwhile for you to shop there.

Like to share my endearing heartwarming services at OG Albert.
On 12 Jun 22, brought my elderly mum seated in a wheelchair for window shopping. Shortly she complained of diarrhoea and hence I panicked to buy her a new pants. In a hurry I lost her blue wallet. Then I reported this lost to 3rd level customer service and ground floor security officer. All staff were very concerned and empathised with me as replacing mum’s nric will be costly and troublesome.
To my surprise on 14 Jun, I received a call from OG that mum’s wallet was found. All cash and cards were fully intact without a single lost.
Honestly we are very happy that mum’s wallet was found and even happier with OG amazing staff. Thank all very much!

Has everything from clothes to toys and kitchen wares. It only misses electronics, but you can find this stuff at sim lim, so not a problem. What I was surprised to see there is winter clothes. Starting from fleece and up to winter coats by good brands. If you are after winter clothes the place is highly recommended.
This is a nice departmental shop selling many products. I usually go in to enjoy the aircond after shopping around the opened air bugis shopping shops. Besides this OG departmental shop you can visit many other shopping malls which are within walking distance from one another.

The OG Department Store is a family-run business that started out as Ocean Garments in September 1962. It operated a factory located in the Redhill Industrial Estate, which was officially opened by then Finance Minister Goh Keng Swee in January 1963. I like the place as there are many departments selling clothes and sports shops and handbags as well as shoes and household items and children’s toys and clothes. Many shoppers came after praying in temple nearby.
Easy access and hassle free parking as there are sufficient parking lots. Ideal shopping place for personal requirements on clothing, bags, wallets, belts and likewise with a great variety of brands, style and fashion. Household utensil, health supplements at reasonable rates.
Always a go-to place for my kids’ school material. Love the range of merchandise and the affordability.

Every year I buy my new year clothings, shoes, belts, wallets, key chains, watches from here. Lots of varieties and brands to choose from. Big and fully airconned. Outside there’s a hawker centre and also roadside food stalls selling Laska, won ton noodles and fruits including hot and cold beverages. There’s a kuan Yin temple nearby.
Good for children’s dresses and more collection at all levels. For girls that have many collections and more colourful. There is not much for boys.

This place is a relatively old shopping mall but has a lot of things to shop. Ranging from water bottles, shoes, clothes, purses, sling bags, back packs, suit cases etc etc. They are relatively cheap compared to other malls and quality is good as well
