The food quality was poor. Very disappointing to be honest. Ordered a salad and was a bit shocked at the level of saltiness of the sauce. So we got the waitress to check on the type of sauce used and it turned out to be a Yakiniki sauce. We were a little shocked as to why the chef would use a Yakiniku sauce that is so salty on a salad??? And needless to say, the rest of the food ordered were pretty terrible too. It was either too salty, too bland or the pasta was severely undercooked. Not going to go back again.

Beautiful place to have dinner and drinks after work. But remember the dress code, no shorts, slippers and singlets if you wanna sit inside. No slippers include Birkenstocks, fully covered shoes they insist.

Other than that, good food, cheap cocktails and drinks, good desserts.

Came here during phase 2 covid period. Needed to book 2 weeks in advance. Food is quite good. But the preparation of prawn thermidor is not the same as other therimdor.

A pair of Hornbills came for tea. It’s a lovely lunch place. Favourites were lobster bisque, lamb shank, steaks and desserts. But also disappointed that 2 of our steak were well done when we ordered medium. Decided not to return it to kitchen. Somehow I think that Suntec outlet has better food quality. Hope they can improve before my next visit

Beautiful colonial house. Done up well. Had dinner there on Saturday. It filled up very fast. Waiters were great and warm. Pity I didn’t get their names but they were so lovely. Glad NUSS got this site to replace the previous one at Law campus. Beware the carpark entrance that is shared by exiting and entering cars.

Friends hosted dinner here and the meal was tasty. We started with onion soup and lobster bisque, followed by chicken stay, which was very good. The chicken wings were excellent, as was the Hainanese pork chop, though the fish dish was just okay. Desserts were a nice ending, and included goreng pisang, bread and butter pudding, and apple crumble.

Service was friendly and quick. It is a rather small place, so reservations are recommended. There are some parking lots just outside the converted two story building, though it might be better to park at the public lots just further up the street. There is also a small bar, with a garden extension, within the premises.

Service is warm and attentive, location looks good. Nicely decorated.

The food was average, we had the Grilled Pollock and Ribeye steak. The food was well presented but cooking lacked finesse.

The fish lacked seasoning, vegetables (Broccoli, carrots and Brussels sprouts) were simply boiled and tasted bland, potato was undercooked. Abit of a wasted potential, could have made the vegetables special. Even just baking them well seasoned would have added so much more to the dish.

Ribeye steak was good, vegetables were same as the fish. Creamed spinach had way too much onions.

We tried the banana fritters, I believe they used the same oil as their fish and chips to cook the desert so our dessert smelt fishy :/

Sadly my dinner experience was a let down. Ambience was up to expectations and staff provided good service. However, more attention is needed to scheduling the serving of food. Our main courses were brought out before we even had a bite of our soup. Thus the main courses were a tad cold when they were subsequently served again. My dish of pan fried ikan kurau looked pathetic without any garnishing or attempt at plating. The mash potato too was coarse rather than smooth. Hopefully, there will be improvements.

Nice ambience with good food, reasonably priced and good service. Initially there was a goofed-up table arrangement i.e. booking request was for 2 tables “side by side” but when we arrived, the waiter said there was no such request. Subsequently only after some earlier quest left then one of the waiters (Chinese guy) took the initiative to arrange for our request.

Second time here after its opening. The kitchen seems to have settled in. Last time round I had the Hainanese Pork Chop which was a tad too “vinegary” if that’s a word. While the menu covers both Western and local favorites, I picked the seafood hor fun. And was pleasantly surprised to find out did have a bit of “wok hei”. The staff are willing but inexperienced. With what I ordered cut green or red chilli would have been automatic. But otherwise they were attentive. Being on the patio seating did put me out of the line of sight of time serving staff in the restaurant. The chill ambience made up for that. Really did feel like a bit of an oasis. A bit out of the way from where I stay but I’ll be back. Yeah and I over indulged, had the bread and butter pudding again
