The long held family recipe lives on. One of the earliest visionary food outlets in Singapore to authentic halal Chinese dishes, since the 70s or maybe earlier, which drew in the Muslim crowd. The 3 iconic restaurant along Mackenzie Road still lives on. Every bite into their tender chicken, rice, chapchai, chilli etc floods back memories of my early childhood days when visiting the restaurant was a treat, which might have required some form of savings from my family. It’s good to see the traditions being retained. Every time I am back in Singapore, it’s a mandatory pit stop.

The roasted chicken has the 40yrs ago childhood taste. Very nice and you can fall into 1970s after the first bite of the roasted chicken. The rice has the old childhood taste in 70s as well. If you want to know what’s the taste of 70s, must go to try. I passed by yesterday accidentally and I recalled my childhood whereby I used to buy their chicken rice in the early 80s… I have found the teatse…
