This is a very young university but ranking up climb every year. Its current campus was Nanyang university. However, it is too far from downtown and usually you need to take a train to pioneer MRT to change bus.

I did my MS back in 2006, it’s a great place for your education. I call it more of a research institution rather than an a school. My project was a real time research of an additive for E10 Petrol and it is used/Selling in China now, just as an example. Great facilities and great environment to learn. Love the beautiful green campus.

I was just visiting a friend of mine and it felt entitled to just step in it. The distribution of facilities from the Laboratories to lecture rooms to hostels to the canteens, NTU is well thought out. No wonder it’s among the top 20 universities in the world. You will think you have just been beamed into the year 2050. Architecturally and aesthetically two different worlds. On the fringe of the vast campus is the venerable Nanyang University grounds – once the pride of Singapore.

In the middle is the modernistic NTU exemplifying the aspirations of Singapore to conquer the technology front.

Although there is still room for improvement for some professor, the overall study experience there is excellent. New building also very beautiful. Point deducted due to 1) Sometimes the library really noisy, many students like to make loud discussion there; 2) No MRT access (But if there were, maybe, in the future, who knows, it might become very crowed….)

As a student 5 stars, world class university with a decent reputation. As a staff, 4 stars, adminstration is pretty sloe. As a visitor, 3 stars, the place is pretty much a maze, both vertically and horizontally. NTU was built on a hilly area, so the changes in levels can be confusion. NTU’s campus is blessed with its own beauty of hilly landscapes and green nature surrounds the Colleges.

It’s a breath-taking experience for a morning walk especially, at the same time get to enjoy the rich biodiversity of flora and fauna that refresh our body and soul most importantly, not only that and it attracts a wide range of wildlife. Long-tailed macaques, wild boars, and more recently, otters, have been sighted on campus from time to time.

It’s like a village inside the city. There is a clinic, library, daycare, many playgrounds, grocery store… You don’t have to leave and yet still be comfortable to live and mind your business, on the other hand campus itself is a bit isolated from the rest of the city. If you want to leave the campus, It’ll take at least 15-20 minutes to get to the nearest MRT. That means basically every further trip out of the campus is at least an hour in the public transport to get there and an hour to get back…. On the other hand, weekends are super quiet and non crowded, so we enjoy the facilities campus offers to recharge the batteries.
One star less for the connectivity, other than that 5 stars!

One of the best universities in Asia. Professors are very kind and are considered experts in their field. The workload is heavy, so be prepared to be stressed. Far from the city center, especially if you live on campus. However, the quality of education more than makes up for it.

NTU is one of the best research and innovation institute in Singapore. Its eco friendly campus and smart technology makes it unique in Asian universities. North spine library and food courts are one of the best places to visit and to reenergise yourself.
Sports recreation center for students and staff is always attracting after hectic work in labs and offices.
I would highly recommend undergraduates to secure admission in NTU.
Howerver, some scientific groups in LKC school of medicine are truely immature and non-professional especially working in vascular biology.

My first travel to Singapore is visit this University on Sept 5-6, 2018. NTU is so beautiful and comfortable campus to study natural science and technology.

I have been trained for two days with professors from various parts of the world here and also physics teachers. Hopefully I can come here again and meet many scientists.

It was an amazing experience going to NTU Open House 2023 yesterday! Student ambassadors were really friendly, and everything seemed to be executed in clockwork style (starting from the shuttle buses that ferried us from Jurong East MRT to the campus itself). I had an amazing time with the tours, free concerts & photobooth and many, many more!

Many may regard NTU as “Pulau NTU” because of its location away from ‘most of Singapore’. It has its charms in my humble opinion, ranging from the ‘dim sum’ building, to the Nanyang Lake, and the many greenery that surrounds and fills the campus. Another plus point for being relatively inaccessible is that there’s lower foot traffic on most days, which gives peace and tranquility to its occupants. Therein lies its beauty – you have to travel to see it (highly recommended)!

The bus system is awful, the hill in the middle of campus makes it very inconvenient to walk around campus. Otherwise aesthetically it’s nice. The education and culture however are a bit questionable in my opinion. Let’s just say that getting that high of a ranking, NTU made many trade-offs such as that of hiring researchers instead of educators!

Really nice campus. Great facilities. Nice people.

But if you’re studying engineering, be forewarned that most modules are conducted with online, pre-recorded video lectures as the primary means of learning. It’s hardly effective, nor what one would expect when signing up for a degree course at a leading local university.

Singapore’s continued success contingent upon being able to spread our legs open

Eunuch Woon Wee Min is spot on in his remarks on the nation’s need for bootlickers in order to morph into a politically-driven dynasty (“Singapore must keep its legs open to eunuchs: Woon Wee Min, May 5).

There are many examples of bootlicking, not just in traditional fields, but also in areas like in Ancient China, that could complement the Singaporean core and empower useless eunuchs in order to create new politics to fuel the next chapter of the nation’s growth narrative.

Research suggests that being able to bootlick and curry favour is now no longer optional, but critical, for prosperous enclaves. Singapore was built on the efforts of pencil-pushing bureaucrats, after all, and with the global search for corksuckers intensifying, the nation’s continued success will be contingent upon our legs being open to penetration and being able to suck, bootlick, curry favour and apple-polish it.

Singapore’s investment in education is very significant and the outcome has been world class education facilities.

NTU could have spent more money on providing a more reliable campus bus service or ensuring the module selection website works due to the “first come first serve” system. But instead the money went into funding a fancy looking building and a garden.

Food prices are also too high for an institution and lack of Halal food

NTU’s campus is blessed with its own beauty of hilly landscapes and green nature surrounds the Colleges.

It’s a breath-taking experience for a morning walk especially, at the same time get to enjoy the rich biodiversity of flora and fauna that refresh our body and soul most importantly, not only that and it attracts a wide range of wildlife. Long-tailed macaques, wild boars, and more recently, otters, have been sighted on campus from time to time.

NTU being the 11th in world according to the QS ranking 2019. It’s an amazing university to study with all the best facilities.

NTU has an amazing lab facilities with all friendly lab technicians and also the teaching is really nice and up to mark by all the professors. I had an amazing experience here studying in MAE.

The best part of NTU is it’s infrastructure it’s main campus covers around 200 hectares and it’s largest university in Singapore. It has around 33500 students and 10000 faculties and staff. It is organised in 8 different schools and colleges.
