An extensive range of Malay Food are available. From finger foods such as epok epok. To prawn noodles (the latest stall). All obliviously Halal. Only wished that improvements can be made on all the hot beverages.

A bit disappointed with soto ayam. It’s very salty and the lontong is a bit hard. Begedil is empty and does not taste good. The ginger tea taste does not taste good as well. Mee rebus is just so-so. Will not buy again from this stall.

I could not resist the #epokepoksayur, which is really hard to come by nowadays in increasingly processed too urbanised Singapore. The test is in the homemade chilli sauce and it didn’t disappoint. With a delighted twinkle the makcik is so kind to ask if I am ok to let the plate be filled with it.

7 stalls selling briyani, mee soto, lontong goreng, malay kuehs, nasi padang and even western breakfast( toast, eggs, beans and sausage). Very affordable. They offer meal sets (safe up to $1for a few). One drink stall that serves the usual hot and cold drinks. Clean and well lit.

The prices of the food are reasonable.I have been patronizing this restaurant since 2004,when I was posted to work at Simei. The ambience are that like the neighborhood cofee shop with ceilling fans instead of air con with open air concept. All the stalls are selling halal food. My favorite are the stall selling kacang foul, laksa Siglap which I usually have for breakfast. The kacang foul is not so watery came with sunny side up egg, to be enjoy with slightly toasted French loaf and the laksa Siglap is the food critic’s dreams come true. If not for other customers around, I surely lick the plate. Then there are also the old favorite mee rebus, soto, lontong goreng stall, which double up in the everning selling satay. For those who prefer rice, there are also stall selling nasi campur, and also a stall selling gado gado and roti john for a quick bite. Not to forget, for dessert, there is a stall selling varitieses of malay kueh. This restaurant is located near Bedok Stadium. It is usually crowded on Sunday due to people after the exercise work up,brisk walking flock to restaurant for makan from the stadium. So avoid the place during Sunday morning unless you are the die die hard fans like me who can’t resist the called of kacang foul and laksa.

The foods are ok, I especially like the kuihs and Kacang Pool, 1 of the best Kacang Pool I’ve tasted. 1 of the guy in drink stall is very rude though, I know it is fasting month but don’t have to scold or raise your voice at customer for no reason. This is why I can only give 2 stars.

It’s along the way with enough time for a promise of old skool quick hot Teh O with kueh keuh break and I could not resist popping over to the delightful #MukminRestaurant. A rustic charming idyllic Malay #soulfood enclave with such a throwback old world feel, as if time stands still there. Everything about it spells laid back and is very close and dear to my heart. Even the fans and old folks who gathered there chatting all seemed chillax and unhurried. Rare. It’s perfect for #mentenbelen

I’m always scouting and what a find it is this time.

One satisfying bite and the flood of memories of my youthful days hit me. Alas the little balls of #pulutserunding are sedap and well balanced too but was the last pack. The other kuehs are authentic and delicious too as promised by the sign for traditional old skool recipes. Of course I had to bag some and the sedap #laksacap and #kacangpool there.

I scooted off a really happy man

An all Malay hawker center, suited beside Bedok Stadium, selling array of traditional Malay cuisine at an affordable price.

If youre looking for traditional Kacang Phool, or simple Mee Rebus or Lontong Goreng, here is the place to dine. It opens early, but closes by lunch time. Swing by if you have time for some savory Malay delights.

I love this place because there’s varieties of food to choose … And plenty of seats.. at this moment per table only 2person to sit .. I love the Mee soto.. nice gravy.. and it’s healthy choice.. only the sambal kicap spicy level is from 0-3 level… I love spicy food.. to my understanding, there’s lots of senior citizen patronizing the place so it’s better not to be spicy..

There is a very tasty dum beryani stall there..the chief cook name is ismail haji rahman….his meat is cooked in the rice and is super tender and the dum masala is awsome…he will also give you some pickles and dhalcha curry to go with..just two days ago i went there to eat his beryani it was hot and he gives a big portion of rice enough for 2 person to eat.the mutton that i eat was a big portion aromatic with special blend masala….mr ismail under Drahman services is a wedding cook for many years and he wears a white chef uniform and he is a professional in this field…one portion is about $8/-and it is worth it……coffeeshop is owned by a malay lady…it look quite dark and glommy.it has not been renovated yet but it is decently clean….the nasi padang stall cook is mdm faridah she is working there for 30 yrs…her dishes are very tasty and reasonable…the other stalls should be ok.
.the teaman is mr munir from father to son….

If you’re looking for an alternative to the pricey Muslim food at Simpang Bedok, give the Mee Soto from a corner store a try. At just 4 dollars with add-ons, it’s very reasonably priced. The taste is outstanding – among the best we’ve ever had – with a generous amount of shredded chicken. The turmeric broth is so delicious, This dish is a must-have on a cold, flu-filled, or rainy day.
