One of the oldest establishment here in Chip Bee Garden – the restaurant is surely due for a facelift. The appetiser caught us by surprise, for the price we are paying it was truly worth it. The portions were decent and so was the meats. The pasta was a flavourful, just wondering how it justifies the price. It was a good bowl of pasta. Not great. Just good. But the price is surely debatable. Will I come here again, yes for the happy hour. Not so much for the price of food.

Food is ok. Pizza’s price is excessive. No children plate and full price for a children plate (plain white spaghetti). Decoration was really average (holes in the ceiling, wires on the wall).

Quite pricey, $53 with the burpple 1-1 for main+starter. Calamari rings were good but could be salted more, bruschetta was good for those who like tomatoes, vegetarian ricotta was very saucey, alfredo was ok. Overall ok but pricey

Reserved a dinner here for Valentine’s day. Tried the lasagna and it was nice. Got a panna cotta for dessert and I love, love it. A bit pricey but would say that it’s okay for such occasion. Service was a bit slow but understandable as the place was packed with customers. Asked waiters for wi-fi password 3 times, didn’t get it at the end. The food got me though.

Definitely one of the best Italian food!

Calamari was soft and crispy , but I feel can be a little more salty.

Ordered the double pizza and no doubt about their pizza !

What was even more impressive was the seafood pasta (sorry can’t recall the name as my wife ordered it), I am never a pasta person but this is going to be a game changer ! Prawn was fresh and I felt the ingredients were more than the pasta !

Pair it with burble app and this is definitely value for money !

Oh remember to call and make reservations plz, it is really packed on a Friday.

We love the pizzas at Madrinaa, and they have gluten free pizza bases as well as gluten free pasta, and lots of vegetarian options and salads. My husband and I regularly eat here and we’ve always found the service great, the staff are really lovely. We sit outside and really like the ambience especially at night. We’ve also taken our baby a few times, and they’re really accommodating of guests with children. Highly recommend it!

I’ve always wanted to visit, but unfortunately it was way below expectations. Our waiter was great (hence the 2 stars), but the food wasn’t. The prosciutto was tasteless and the melon was hard and unripe. The pizza was okay but the pasta was quite boring and extremely salty. Wouldn’t go back even with the burpple 1 for 1 offer.

Came here on a Friday evening and use Burpple Beyond 1-for-1 to dine.

Outdoor dining was not a particularly great experience – it just rained so the shelter was extended, making it stuffy and humid. There were also some mosquitoes (by no fault of the restaurant). Recommend to make reservations to sit inside instead.

Food-wise was great – selection of pastas, pizzas and side dishes were wide and overall tasted quite good. Really enjoyed the bruschetta and pasta – tasted fresh and flavourful. Would avoid the calamari – no flavour, batter is more of tempura rather than onion ring style. Using Burpple Beyond was also super worth it – you get 2 mains AND 2 side dishes for the price of 1!

Not the cheapest Italian food in town but still highly recommended if you have Burpple!

Food is expensive and not worth the price due to the cheap ingredients used.

Ordered the squid ink risotto $38 but the seafood were frozen dory fish, frozen rubbery prawns and some squid. This was a huge disappointment given the price point, most places would have at least some fresh prawns, scallops or mussles. The lobster ravioli $38 sauce was great but the pasta was soso only.

Lastly, service was lacking and unwelcoming.

Short staffed (though the 2 waitress working always have a smile when attending to us) and mediocre ingredients. Probably best if they close down cause the food was badly made, hawker / food court western food can beat them hands down.

Salads andwand bruschetta was decent and fresh and they even threw in 2 bottlers of Peroni..so thanks guys! Good way to end off the Friday…

Boss Sunda is a delight to be meet. He either the front of the house or sometime, you can also catch him breaking a sweat in the kitchen.

Food wise is humble cooking with focus on handcraft. What took me by surprise is the mushroom sauce that came with my beef. The sauce is handcrafted and highly rich in umami impact. It was later reveal that the chef owner made his own sauce and does not rely on premade items.

I really enjoyed the food here, though it’s quite expensive so I would only come here for a special occasion.

The bruschetta has to be my favourite antipasti here and it’s a must-order everytime I come. The crunchy baguette, tangy tomatoes and the feta cheese that melts in your mouth, such a perfect combination.

The crab and lobster tortelli is also such a luxurious treat. The sauce is the star here and is just so addictive that I make sure the plate is completely wiped clean before I leave.

The ambience indoors is quiet and refined. They have outdoors seating as well. The service is sufficiently prompt, though not friendly or welcoming.

In our opinion (and we’ve eaten a lot of pizza in our lives), this is possibly SG’s best pizza (although Blue Label is also pretty awesome)

It’s crispy, never greasy (which we find a lot of pizzas in SG are), with a delicious tangy sauce and very generous toppings. Not too much cheese – just the right amount. So if you come hungry, you can eat a whole one and not feel stuffed.

The staff are friendly and the service is good. Nice ambience outside (have never sat inside).

The price seems pretty fair for what you’re getting. We’ve tried many places but this is the one we come back to anytime we’re craving delicious pizza and don’t want to break the bank.

Your Italian cup runneth over on Merah Saga as between the Da paolo establishments and Madrinaa, you can’t go too far wrong. Come on a Saturday, sit outside, get an spicy Italian sausage calzone and a cold beer and watch the people roll by on their way to the restaurants around. The salads are nice too and the pizzas and pastas tasty. They participate in the Entertainer program, so save yourself some dough too.

It’s a quiet and hidden in plain sight kinda place, when you search online. Both alfresco and indoor seating with good food and service. Pizza have a more regal taste and isn’t overpowered by excessive toppings or seasoning. Pastas are definitely more flavourful. Good selection of wines as well.

Horrible. Ordered calamari as a starter. It was absolutely tasteless. The batter falls off the calamari, no spices added at all. Feels like it was frozen squid.

Then we ordered a crayfish linguine. Came wrapped in a paper in a bowl, looked delicious, but no taste too. Was disappointed.

The risotto was the only good one. Rich flavour that melts in mouth, generous amount of truffle given. But it was dragged down by the other bland dishes.

What was good about this place was that they gave good quality napkins. Feels premium. The ambience was good as well. Very quiet indoors on a Saturday night. The chairs were comfy, aircon not too cold, not too stuffy either. Waiters were courteous and efficient.

So we ordered 3 dishes (above) and the bill came to $112. Should have totally went for haidilao instead.

Service Standards is no good for a meal that costs like fine dining.

Asked for Bread Stick which is not inside menu.
Waitress came out 30mins later with Garlic Bread.
Asked for some bread with olive oil instead.
She says must pay bcos not free of charge but she doesn’t know what’s the name
and where it is inside the menu.
Not attentive to new diners coming in as well.

    Food wise, expensive rip off.
    Visually appealing though.

    $48 Lamb Shank is filing
but $48 Lamb ribs is too small a portion.
    Not recommended for people with
    high expectations or hungry stomach.
Perhaps for dating people who only wish to enjoy a $90 moscato sparkling wine and nothing else.

6 months ago, iced water was changeable
    2017 it’s Free.
    Better check before they serve.
Never know when the water policy change again.

Had the set lunch and pizza on a friday. Crab meat pasta and pepperoni pizza was decent, though both my wife and I think ALT pizza across the road is better. Glass of Merlot $17++ is made palatable by 1 for 1. Cream brûlée is just alright too. Overall I wouldn’t come back again.

Decent food & exceptional service. Probably the best service I have experienced in Singapore & in a different league than most places. I’ll be back – especially given the sorry state of service at most places!

Average food. Ordered Parma ham with melon. The Parma ham is so thin that almost can taste the ham. Salad have not much taste. The pizza is good with thin crispy crust, generous amount of cheese. It will be better if it comes with a little more bacon.

    Wow
I passed this restaurant for like dozens of times and really want to try their crusty pizza finally!
The waitress is really nice and kindly recommended us all the delicious food!
I liked the pizza most! The NOPOLI is pizza margarita and it’s the most thin pizza I’ve ever had and the cheese was soooo creamy and together with the spicy oil of their own make you one bite to heaven! Highly recommend!
My friend liked the beef tenderloin the most we ordered medium rare, its tender and juicy. The mash is creamy and smooth! Also recommended!
The warm spinach salad is so special and appetizing because the sourness of the stir-fried mushroom! The mushroom surprised us a little bit! Must try!
The soup of the day is just so so.
    Definitely will come back!

The food is pricey but the quality and serving size helps to make up for it. I had the squid ink risotto and it was excellent, full of flavour and well-balanced.

The Burpple Beyond 1-for-1 voucher makes it an especially good deal and as pricey as the food is, I would consider coming back without the voucher because the food is that good.

Came here on a saturday night with a group of friends for dinner and the restaurant didn’t seem too busy. There is a wide variety of food from the Italian cuisine to choose from and pizzas are named after different places in Italy. We started off with truffle fries although could not taste any truffle and they just tasted like plain fries. Garlic bread was good. We ordered three pizzas, one that was gluten free since one of our friends there were gluten free. I had half of the gluten free one although thin crust pizzas are not really my thing and I did not really like the taste. The service was alright although staff did not seem like they knew what they were doing. Overall it was an alright experience but maybe its just because I have never tasted a gluten free pizza before and I am used to the usual pizza taste but my friends really enjoyed their pizzas!

Decent for the price point with 1 for 1. Had the crab ravioli which I would recommend, great flavours. Seafood bag pasta was disappointing as the base was watery and pasta lacked he punch.

I’m giving this place 2 stars and not 1 only because their staff were a great bunch of people, attentive and very patient so that’s the only saving grace of this place. Apart from this, Gosh where do I start with this place…

This being an Italian place, doesn’t serve bread to start with. That’s strike 1. We ordered their caprese salad for starters only because they didn’t have any burrata (WHAT?!), truffle calzone, cannelloni and another pasta which the staff recommended (I cannot remember the name). Strike 2 was how our cannelloni looked like which somehow resembles a lasagne more than anything. It tasted fine but was really nothing much to shout about. I could blindfold myself and probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between that and a microwaved dish. Gordon Ramsey would scream his head off at this place. But heyyyy what do I know, I’m just a common customer with no chefs palette, so disclaimer there. Strike 3 was their extremely plain caprese salad with no balsamic vinegar and ended up being severely tasteless. The calzone was fine but presentation wise…. pictures would speak for itself.

Oh Gosh there’re way better Italian places out there. You can jolly well skip this.

This is a very favourite local Italian of ours and last nights meal was as usual fantastic. It is so good to see the place back to its busy self after the last two years, but even when this busy Paula, Rose and the team provided attentive service to all. We shared the caprice salad with some garlic bread and then I had my favourite seafood pasta in bag. Packed with seafood and flavour but be warned it’s a large portion. Look for it on the Chef specials page. We have started to eat here a lot as the food, service and value for money is important to us, it’s a 2 min walk away and this place always delivers, but book a table as it’s a very popular place on Chip Bee especially for tue 2 4 1 before 730pm!! Enjoy.

Restaurant w a really nice & peaceful ambience that’s hidden off the rowdy streets at Holland V that we found via Burpple Beyond.

Food was great esp the appetizers however the thin crust pizza tasted pretty normal and slightly hard. Staff was really nice & attentive too!

Will suggest owners to consider incorporating pictures in the menu, nonetheless still a gem for sure.
