Nice tranquil walk that’s friendly for family and kids. Close proximity for family to easily explore the lake, hill, water way, fish and turtle ponds, bridge and reservoir. Good facility/bathrooms and easy access for cars to park in the shed or use the efficient bus service.

MacRitchie Reservoir is an amazing tropical rain forest amidst the ever busy city country . MacRitchie Reservoir is reachable by the MRT, bus or car. Nearest MRT is Caldecott . The entrance is equipped with washrooms, showers, lockers(for small items) drinking water fountains and food kiosks . Restrooms are conveniently located throughout hiking route. Make it a point to fill up water bottles and bring in enough snacks nuts are the best to give you that much needed energy boost for your hike ahead .If you are allergic to nuts try any suitable alternative. Use your bugs spray before entering the hiking trail we don’t wish to be the ones disturbing native species. Like any other place in SG the reservoir is well maintained no exceptions.
Go for a morning(Wish it was opened much earlier instead of 9 AM) or evening walk along the wooded pathway to enjoy the beautiful and serene reservoir.
Trail is easy even for a beginner. More runners are here during the weekends. I see jaywalkers more than ever before that’s very encouraging sign here, how people have started to get out and active. This reservoir is an ideal place for the whole family.
Also the place for runners to warm up before the events.
There is this Tree top walk, downside is it closes pretty early.

The distance from entrance of the TreeTop Walk is almost 4.5 km (1.5 – 2 hr walk) from MacRitchie Reservoir and 2.5 km (45 mins – 1 hr walk) from the car park at Venus Drive. A round trip including the TreeTop Walk is about 9 km (3-5 hrs depends on your walking speed).

Great place to take a walk. They have several trails and the place is very nice. The tree TOP walk is especially good and you can clear your mind after a stress filled week. The walk is closed on mondays and it opens until 5. So do make sure you make it in time

Cant get any better for morning or evening walk in Singapore. This place is probably the best. There is breeze, majestic water infinity view, occasionally monitor lizard, sparrows, humming birds and most importantly no bicycle traffic interference and lots of fresh air.

I don’t know why people put reviews about the MacRitchie park in this section, that is about the car park. Anyway, the car park has 2 stories. Bottom is sheltered. Top is not. Rates are standard public rates. Simple design makes it easier to navigate and park.

Very dark areas within the carpark with no natural lights or lamps and really small parking area for the weekend morning crowd.
There should be more parking lots in this carpark given the popularity of this venue.

My favourite park for trekking and it has a tree top bridge. There are many monkeys and monitor lizards to see. However, 2 big pythons have been spotted at the northern trail recently. I personally saw a large grey python crossing the northern trail once when I was trekking there.

Expect crowds on weekends but otherwise the only nearby parking to enjoy a hike or run at the nearby Reservoir. Do not go after dark as the trails are closed and you risk injury… or pontianaks (so some say).

Pretty good place for walks. Some trails are really not comfortable because of the terrain though. Went for the tree top walk but missed it because it closes kinda early.

The tree top walk is very fun to do but you still need a minimum of endurance and good sneakers, especially if it starts to rain!
