Spicy sesame chicken & sliced fish gravy were truly flavourful. Order spicy for a lil kick. Chicken portion (small) can be shared among 2pax. Fish was just enough for 1pax. Plenty of space. Recommended!

Mala and claypot lovers! Must try the super spicy chicken! Be careful not to get cholesterol. Once u got hit.. that’s it.. you will tear like nobody’s business.. haha.. at least for me.

Definitely will go back for this dish and their sambal ladies fingers. Taste great! Portion pretty reasonable lot!
    Hope they maintain such standard.

Looking forward to try their other claypot dishes too..

Not the most accessible place as it is not located near train stations. You will have to change to take a LRT if you are coming via train. Love the traditional sesame chicken the most compared to the other variety they have. Price is reasonable and staff are mostly friendly. Comfort food if you like boneless chicken drenched in thick gravy like myself.

The pork kidney in herbal soup is not fully cooked and they used metal pot instead of pot. Herbal fish soup is good. The green vegetable is too oily and no taste.

Their Chicken Herbal Soup Claypot was superb. Too bad we ordered only one Claypot becos my son and I kept taking the soup continuously from my husband who ordered that dish for himself. Their Qing Cao veg is also another to die for, so is their steamed egg. However, the worse performing dish is the Sesame Ginger Chicken Claypot. Barely can taste the sesame and ginger. Even my non-cook helper can do much better using my recipe. The sauce is overly thicken with corn starch, and taste a little too sweet until overwhelming as well. Seems more like soy sauce mixed with corn starch for the sauce. This Claypot dish was a real let down. I would revisit again and order the thumbs up dishes I mentioned and skip the Sesame Ginger Chicken Claypot instead.

Visited the recently opened store at Tampines One. Had the impression if was claypot and was looking forward to having a claypot chicken with mushroom rice.

I stead, they serve dishes like herbal chicken in claypot which you eat with white rice in a bowl.

Ordered ngoh hiang, sesame chicken and ladies fingers in sambal. We did not enjoy the nogoh hiang, especially the brown sauce. The sesame chicken was slightly better, though too sweet. The best dish was the sambal lady fingers with minced meat, which went well with the rice.

Do note they only accept cash and Nets.

The better dishes were the Sliced Fish Herbal Soup ($9.80) and Sesame Chicken (free, redeemed from loyalty card). The Pig Organs dish ($6.50) was below average. The rest of the dishes, Eggplant with minced meat ($6.30), Qing Long ($7.50), Sambal Seafood ($10.50) and Sambal Kang Kong ($6.20) were average. Service was excellent and price was very affordable. Overall, ok food at reasonable price.

Looks nice in picture. The ngoh hiang is good but the sambal seafood is very oily and also salty. The price is reasonable. Why can’t they serve hot water as we are willing to pay. All the hot drink are of sugar base. When we can’t take sweet.
I can’t drink mineral water as it causes my legs very weak. Hope they will have some consideration.

The food here is nice and flavourful. The claypot sesame chicken, minced meat brinjal and herbal chicken soup are must-try dishes. Prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. The staff is helpful and friendly. Air conditioning can be stronger though… but perhaps this is centrally controlled by the buidling so they can’t do anything about it. If you like food swimming in oil then this place will be suitable for you.

Ordered the sesame oil chicken, sambal ladies fingers, sambal sotong with ladies finger, sliced fish herbal soup and homemade ngoh hiang.

The sesame oil chicken was the dish I was looking forward to. However it turned out to be underwhelming and lacked sesame oil fragrance and taste. I had it many years ago at the serangoon outlet and it left a lasting impression. Unfortunately, the standard at this punggol outlet pales in comparison.

The sliced fish herbal soup was the best dish out of all we ordered. Sambal ladies finger was slightly undercooked. Sambal sotong with ladies finger and homemade ngoh hiang were decent.

The food was great. I had the sesame chicken and steamed egg… and somethingI didn’t order. I’m taking one star off just because of the attitude. There’s a mastercard sign at the entrance but the lady at the register shrugged and said “Nets only.” She didn’t offer help like “there’s an atm upstairs (there is)” which I found and returned. And the lady giving me the food asked me to finish it all, which made me smile because I think my mum said that to me when I was 7. But great food. I’ll go with Singaporean friends next time.

Visited this place as it was recommended by my friend and ordered these dishes.

The good food was sadly hindered by the staff as my friends and I were the last table that were still eating. We felt uncomfortable and pressured by the staff staring at our table clearly indicating that they wanted to clear our table to get on with closing the store even when we were trying our best to finish the food asap.

Other than the minor issue, the food was good and served rather quickly upon order. Would recommend the sesame chicken, ngoh hiang and any of the herbal soup dishes

Love its claypot sesame chicken (order a large portion for sharing with family of 3 and above, more value for money), herbal soup with sliced fish (must order big portion too, then will have more fish) and sambal sotong (squid rings with spicy thick gravy). I think the ngoh hiang (minced pork wrapped in beancurd skin and deep fried) is one of the best tasting but a bit salty. The price is reasonable and food is delicious. Service was great, they serve you your food despite not charging service charge (just 7% gst)

Food is good as well. Acceptable spice level. The frog meat can be slightly hard sometimes. Can suggest to cook it longer.

Delivery not really worth it after trying dine in. The portion size is obviously larger when having the food dine in instead of delivery.

Been waiting for awhile to come to this place and finally had a chance to be nearby to try it. This place was highly recommended by fellow punggolians so had to try.

The kidney/liver soup is a little too porky for me. The pork smell is really quite bad. Not sure if it’s not washed properly or it’s just the feature.

The chicken comes in diced instead of parts. Suspect frozen chicken but then again, it’s the chicken ban period, so can’t fault them. Taste is so-so.

The only saving grace is the ngo-hiang. Highly recommended it.

Don’t order the milk tea, the pic shows the original volume it came in – half glass. Aunty won’t make it thicker and more. She said she can add hot water to fill it up but it will dilute the taste. Thanks for the honesty.

LARGE portions, really value for money especially with the burpple beyond deal which comprises of a drink, salted vegetables and two claypots (one dry, one soup). All of the dishes including the rice was smoking hot when they come out of the kitchen and extremely flavourful as well. I personally liked the mala one which had a nice spicy kick to it!

Nice and comforting food. Minus 1 star for the service as they shouldn’t have assume customers are repeated customers. Got told off that we should have informed them about the change in table number. However, in the first place, we were not told that there was a table number stated on the receipt. Nevertheless, service was prompt.

    Affordable and generous servings.

Sesame chicken lacks the fragrance of sesame oil but being one of the lowest priced item, you can’t complain. There’s a lot of chicken compared with other eateries.

The herbal soup pork liver and kidney really good. If you are afraid that it will be undercooked then don’t get it.

The Qing Long Cai tastes alright but may be too oily.

We ordered a few claypot dishes, brinjal with minced meat, sesame oil chicken and the sambal cuttlefish. The dishes tasted like they were all using frozen ingredients and didn’t taste fresh. Was expecting better food as I usually see a healthy crowd.

It’s a bit amazing!! Three dishes + a drink, including GST in the end, only paid $20.11

In terms of the taste of the food, it is definitely not inferior to most Chinese restaurants — and the price is even more affordable than the zi char stalls in some hawker centres. If I really have to pick something, it would be perfect if the taste is stronger (I have a strong taste, lol)

I ordered a cup of Luo Han Guo tea ($2) for hot drinks, which was a little weaker, but fortunately it was Homemade, so just fine.

The service aspect is worthy of special mention: Although it is a “class restaurant” that does not levy a 10% service tax, the attitudes of the waiters and cashiers are at the upper-middle level. Due to the Saturday night, the scene was crowded, but it only took 10-12 minutes from payment to serving all the dishes (yes, you must go to the counter to order and pay first), praise

Summary: I will be back, very soooon ~

I will be back, very soooon ~

Was craving for sambal sotong and found this restaurant nearby with a good review. Over ordered the dishes for 2 pax as the price is pretty reasonable so wouldn’t expect the portions to be huge. This is however not the case when we saw all dishes came and would say 1 dish per pax would be just nice.
Note that all dishes ordered are in the standard portion!

Sambal Sotong – wasn’t as spicy as I would expect but still wasn’t too bad.
Salted fish Beans with tofu – couldn’t taste the salted fish as it has been diluted with the soup base.
Claypot chicken non spicy – just alright
Pig liver and kidney herbal soup – wasn’t expecting this but this is probably the nicest dish as the herbal soup base is fragrant with lots of meat in it.
