I wasn’t really into the cold tomato soup but the chicken paella is decent. The rice is well seasoned and does not overwhelm the whole dish. The inside of the chicken is well marinated, tender and NOT DRY. The outside is crispy and well seasoned. If I had the choice, I would eat the chicken over any other chicken dish in the price range.

Good food altho portion abit small.
Bird-chicken is crispy outside moist inside, with small amount of paella below. Squid ink Paella noodles is slightly crispy too

Tried creamy mushroom, quite herby but my boyfriend loves it

Spanish omelette is rather bland but can mix w the other salty items to blend it out

Onion rings is real onion pieces with crispy batter outside.
Overall we love it, just hope the portion is bigger hahah

Got the Spanish half bird paella! Would recommend as it’s tasty and crispy. Service was good with friendly staff as well. Got the potato with crab meat too – would have been great if the portion was bigger and if there was more crab though! (:

Affordable Spanish dishes, some of our recommended dishes – baby squid and fried egg; spanish omelette; creamy cajun mushroom

The cocktail was a tad sweet and not spirit forward enough for my liking but maybe that’s me. Worth a try at this newly opened restaurant!

Very very nice roast chicken paella, the underside of the rice abit burnt and crispy like claypot rice. Onion rings serving was big and very delicious too.

Had the set lunch of cold tomato soup and chicken chunk paella. Also had the Aqua de Valencia drink. Service was efficient. Enjoyed the crispy bits in the soup and the tangy taste of the chicken paella. The drink was perfect. Well done!

I really enjoyed my first time here, I had my seat facing the kitchen and I can’t help but get distracted by the 2 hot chefs, if only they’re part of the menu… Anyway I ordered the Spanish Roast Bird and it was really tasty. It reminded me of home and it got me excited that this was prepared by a hot chef. They have a large selection of nice drinks and delicious deserts. I would definitely come back for more.

Friendly and helpful staff who were v patient to explain menu to us. Ordered the Half Bird, chicken portion was good but the rice was too little even for 1 pax. Would be good if the rice portion is bigger and that it was not too charred and oily.

Nice restaurant for a family. My kids estimate that it is a very good one. Many space between table that create some lunch privacy. Half chicken very tasty. Be careful on some meal which may be quite spicy. The cold soup is very good. They provide some drawing for kids.

Ordered the squid ink pasta and the half roasted chicken. Not too familiar with the taste when I ate the squid ink pasta, so I felt I’m not exactly sure what I was eating. Half toasted chicken was good though. Rating 3 stars as the portion was really small for the price in opinion. Probably because it’s tapas styled but thought portion can be bigger.

    located at Centre Point, B1.
1st try for this new Spanish Roast Chicken, La Bird.

Casual dining area, spacious and nice ambience.

    Menu not much varieties.

    Mocktails – ..
    Half Bird – good!
Spanish omelette – fluffy and nice!

Smashed Crab meat w potatoes, very disappointing, got a very bitter taste, think from marination/sauce of the crabmeat?
House Wings, good taste but very tiny winglets.

Food all nicely presented, decent service.

Came due to many good reviews, however i am somehow disappointed

4.5/5! Loved the paella in the half chicken dish! Would be nice if the portion was more for the paella XD. We ordered medium rare for the half chicken so it wasn’t dry. Truffle mashed potatoes and cheese cake were great too! Also, highly recommend their mocktails! Tried the passion fruit sparkler and hibiscus lemonade, both were refreshing and not too sour! Their noodle paella is average, reminds me of beehoon

It’s clean and spacious. I had Spanish Roast half bird. Price was reasonable for the portion. Capucinno was normal. The menú had interesting non-alcoholic drinks. There’s tapas choices which I’ll be back to try if I had 2 or more friends with me. Definitely happy to ser Spanish food at an affordable price.

Three options for the 2-course set lunch. I opted for the Spanish chicken paella and caesar salad – $15.90++. The tomato-based paella was served hot, and it was flavourful. The saffron rice was tasty. However, portion-wise, it’s disappointingly small and just enough for a small eater. For $18+(after GST &SS) in a casual dining place, one would expect a fuller, heartier meal with more bite. Was still hungry after lunch. So to fill up, I bought a bao from Malaysia boleh – the eatery opposite! Not quite a value-for-money set lunch. Customer service though was friendly and welcoming.

Had lunch on a Monday, the first customer there at 11.30am. Mom and I ordered 2 set lunch, consisting of a tapas + a main course. We ordered the House Salad + Grilled Seabass with Garlic Mash and spicy roast potatoes + Squid Ink & Pea Fideua.

All the dishes taste great, not too salty and cooked just right. The Squid is soft and the tastes great. Only the additional ice lemon tea at $1 is way too sweet, I had to add a glass of water from my water bottle. They don’t serve tap water, so customers have to order bottled water.

The grilled seabass is a very small dish, a third of usual serving in restaurants so it is only good for small eater like my mom. Overall, I love the food.

I tried out this new Spanish eatery at the basement of Centrepoint, La Bird, as we were intrigued by the noodle paella, which sounded like a Spanish version of chao dar bee hoon – well the spiced chorizo and seaweed one I ordered did taste like it. It was a bit on the salty side but was really tasty. I was informed by the service staff that we can request for less salt the next time actually which means it is really made to order upon order.

For the rest of the tapas, the creamy Cajun mushroom was amazing, the crab smashed potatoes and hummus toast were alright, with the very plain tasting house wings the only weak point.

And oh yeah, the service staff were really polite and pleasant which was always a wonderful thing to have in a meal service.

We had the $15.90 two course set, chose the cold tomato soup and seabass. The seabass with the garlic potatoe mash is a wonderful dish. Seabass is fresh, cripsy skin with juicy flesh. The veg with Brinjal, we love that taste. Our kids love it so much we ordered a second set.
We have ordered the onion rings which we have no chance to take pictures of it. Its fresh onion deep fried in batter, taste good when we dip it in the cold tomato soup. They have fried milk as dessert, we din try. We tried the safe burnt cheese cake yummy

I think that it’s decent, the Squid Ink paella was interesting as I’ve never had a noodle paella, but wished it had more topping, visually would be more appealing like the Rice Paella they offer with roast chicken. It looked dry visually until it is stirred, overall the taste was good but does not overly satisfying. Can see that they’re trying to improve and at least they ask for suggestions.

I think that the waiter could help us to move the side dishes, instead of bring the hot pan towards us and saying “excuse me” and expecting us to shift the side dishes away for him. We didn’t mind doing that but it was a little weird. But could see he was trying his best, regardless we appreciate and hope to have future meals here at La Bird.

Really love the egg potato, very fluffy.

Had the rice with chicken for 2 pax. Very different from my usual Asian food. Interesting taste to it. But a bit weirded out by the keropok. Is that a normal thing in Spanish cuisine?

It is my 1st time having a Spanish cuisine, well, I am a foodie, would love to try all kinds of cuisines available here in SG. It is delicious. Honestly, per sharing portion, it is a non-sharing portion for my case though. While, I would like to propose to having a lunch meal promotion or a 2-3 / 4-5 pax promotion bundle: small bites + main course + dessert + drink (additional charges for alcoholic beverages) etc. To add on, a return cash voucher for every bundle purchase for dine-in only.

It’s an interesting place. Food quality is there but taste wise …. subjective. Not my type of food and also the brand felt like a one trick pony where the seasoning powder on the chicken is left to hold the entire brand positioning altogether.

Service was impeccable. If the service standard maintains this would be fantastic. The Spanish bird wasn’t that bad only one critique would be the paella. If they didn’t oven roast together with the chicken. You wouldn’t have so much of the hard bits of rice. But all in all it was a great little restaurants. Keep up with the service and fine tune on the paella.

TLDR: Food flavour is above average, for this price point, worth coming back if you’re in the mall.
    Average spend per pax: $20

    SCORE : 4/5
    1. Ambience – 0.5
    2. Price – 1
    3. Service – 1
    4. Flavour – 0.5
    5. Experience – 1

Deets: staff very polite, very prompt in service.

roast chicken paella’s portion of rice would half fill a 5 year old. The base of the pan could clearly be seen, as clear as a middle aged balding man trying to cover his bald spot. Outside of the portion, the chicken was cooked beautifully, very moist on this inside.

Crab potatoes are a waste of time, dried crab meat had less contribution than flatulence in a park on a windy day.

Spanish omelet saved the day, very flavourful, its my first time having this dish.

Burnt cheesecake is priced reasonably, flavour and texture was how it should be.

Oh. Drinks are terribly expensive. Sangria is $18 a glass, so is the beer.
    $2.90 for soft drink
    $4.90 for iced lemon tea
    Water is not free.

Great and friendly service, however the food was mediocre. Summer sunrise is a great drink and it’s highly recommended. The squid ink pasta was not it, it was dry and tasted too fishy. The sour cream that came with the chips was great though. Overall, too pricey for the quality of food.

Had the set lunch ($15.90) which is available all day. Cold tomato soup wasn’t very appetising, and the squid ink noodle paella pan wasn’t hot enough to char the bottom. I had a much better but much more expensive version at a Spanish restaurant so this was a pale comparison. Topped up $2 for the agua de valencia, which was really sweet. Sister’s chicken paella was much better though.

Good place to come with partner, someone to share food with.

My wife and I got crab potatoe, chorizo sausage (pork) pasta, summer sunrise (mocktail) and fried milk dessert.

Crab potatoes, appetiser, is a little blend but there is a generous amount of crab meat inside.

Chorizo pasta is pretty unique and actually quite tasty. However, you couldn’t find traces of the seaweed in it as mentioned on the menu (could be better if were to specify as seaweed flakes) but waitress was nice to clarify and even gave an additional small tub of seaweed to top it off.

Fried milk is crispy and not too sweet hence just to one’s liking. However, may still feel a little gelate at the end of it.

Overall, it’s a nice restaurant to patronise and will definitely come here again!

Food and drinks were delicious, the service was great as well. Located at B1 in centerpoint, it’s a very convenient location to grab a meal too. We had the signature roast chicken paella and seabass with mash potato. The chicken was juicy and flavourful and the mash was buttery and smooth, 10/10 for the quality of food. The only small nitpick would be the slightly smaller portion size.

La Bird is a brand new edition to foodie destinations at Centre Point. Located at Basement 1 opposite MOS Burger and in front of the future FairPrice Finest (opening Sept 2022).

We have been highly anticipating the opening for months – blame the sumptuous photos of the food plastered across the construction barricades.

The food is amazing at a reasonable price point. We had the hummus to start, it was smooth with a refreshing kick of citrus. The roasted chicken had a super crispy skin that encapsulates the juicy white meat, it sits on a bed of crispy bombs paella rice. We also had fried sunny side ups with baby squid, that was an interesting tapas that enhanced our meal.

With our taste buds teased with excitement, we had to order more, so we decided on the squid ink paella noodles. Squid, peas and ikura sat on a plate of squid ink al dente noodles (crispy to the bite).

    Highly recommended

The chicken was cook to a lovely texture and the squid pasta was definitely a pleasant one. Each had their own twist of local flavour if i would say. And the potato’s with crab do be a zesty delight. And at the end of the meal the Spanish flan would top it off on a sweet but not too sweet savoury end.

Food is good but very small portions. The chicken is like the size of a pigeon. The rice is just a thin layer below the chicken. Crab potato is tasty and sourdough is good like any sourdough. The latte is also good. Would be good if they add the seafood paella with rice rather than on pasta. The rice is a tad too hard which is like what you get in Spain as we usually like the softer rice. It is a matter of taste.

    What we ordered for two:
    – Chicken paella
    – Spanish omelette

The chicken is tender and juicy. Ask for the tomato sauce!! Its tangy, has a slight kick and goes so well with the chicken and the fish crackers that comes with the paella.

Im a fan of poultry and Poulet, and was excited to try La bird. I ordered the half roast bird, and was sorely disappointed. The chicken was dry. The paella wasn’t really paella, but short grain rice. And the flavour on the chicken and “paella” was just so lacking I had to pair it with the tomato sauce that was given on the side. The dish also came with pieces of Keropok that does not add value to the flavour, I was left confused- keropok, short grained rice = paella?

Only giving it 2 stars. 1 star for the clean and comfortable restaurant ambience. 1 star for the service which was decent.

The plating of the food was a really nice touch. I enjoyed the half burrata with the tomatoes.

Thought the omelette could be more salty but it was an interesting combination of eggs and potatoes.

The chicken was nicely done, tender and juicy. I really liked the paella rice but it would be nice if there was slightly more rice to match the rather massive chicken.

Got the Half Bird, Squid Ink Paella, Aqua de Valencia, and Spanish Fried Milk. All were excellent in terms of taste and quality!

Chicken was tender and we’ll flavoured through. Chilli wasn’t too spicy nor sweet too.

Both the Paella layers were thin – however the portion is decent and this probably helped reduce the cost and price of the dishes.

Fried milk was served with a topping of frozen milk (aka vanilla ice cream). The vanilla was Fragrant on its own (not the cheap kind), and blends well with the custard later.

Service was excellent too. Kudos to Darius for the excellent service recovery (nothing wrong here and he went above and beyond) and almost single handedly managing the front of house.

Just opened near the Somerset MRT, and have been waiting to try this place. It did not disappoint. For those not wanting to read the details this is a place worth stopping at for both the food and service. The tapas concept is good for small plate sharing, you’ll just need to order a few tapas / potato plates with your main course. The staff is attentive and quick to respond.

The flavors perfectly complement the dishes. Tried the crab potato dish and the half bird on our first visit. Will definitely be coming back to try the hummus and chorizo noodle paella.

The potato crab has a hint of lemon and butter over the fried potato which brings out the flavor of the crab perfectly. Highly recommend this dish.

The half bird had that crispy skin shown in their photos, a flare of fajita peppers and oinio over the rice. Now the rice you might be expecting to be that perfect paella rice, but they add a bit of flair and toast it up a bit giving you a nice crunch to complement the chicken and fajita veg.

As for price and quantity, it’s definitely reasonably priced for what your getting. I’m sure some will ask about the portion size, which I think needs to be balanced with the tapas style restaurant and Spanish inspired courses.

One tapa and a main are definitely enough for an individual, but would definitely recommend a couple or family order a few tapas to start, and possibly 2 mains depending on how hungry you are.

Overall, good experience and food. Will definitely be back again soon.

    —–Update after lunch visit—–

So it’s been a few months now, and we found ourselves back at LA Bird, this time for lunch. I have to say the food is better. We had the ‘2 course set lunch’ and another in our group had the ‘Spanish Roast Boneless Chicken leg with Onion rice’. The 2 Course was ordered with the Spicy Roast potatoes and the Squid Ink & Pea Fideua.

First, the potatoes were perfectly done, fluffy inside with a nice crispy skin and an excellent pairing dipping sauce.

The Chicken with Onion Rice was by itself so flavorful. The chicken skin had a nice grill, again, it wasn’t dry at all and they added a wafer crisp for a pleasant texture surprise to complement the rice. And the sauce… Amazing! It’s got a hint of Tabasco flavor with a ketchup like consistency that just knocked this dish out of the park.

Now the Squid Ink Fideua… I was skeptical as it can be a tough dish to cook. But o how wrong I was. The flavor in this dish cannot be passed up. Texture, flavor combination between the squid, ink, veg, and that special ingredient brought the entire thing together to make the taste buds dance.

Price vs fullness I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. The lunch offering was spot on with the price point to amount of food. For 2 we paid 15 for the 2 course lunch + 10 for the Chicken & Onion rice. 25 SGD for 2 and we walked away full, but not stuffed.

Highly recommend checking this place out, especially for lunch.

Squid ink paella was served piping hot with fresh ingredients, the squids were not chewy. The Crispy Egg Plant was lovely too. The humble egg plant, cut into bite size and coated in batter, was non-oily and we enjoyed the sweet and savoury taste. The mid-section wings were a delight, it goes so well with the Spanish tomato sauce.

Food is delicious, and good for the price point. We ordered the whole chicken paella, eggplant poppers with honey, and the cajun mushrooms, all for two people. (No pics though; but our eyes and tummies are full 😉 ). The flavors are delicious, but I think it would be even better with a little more spiciness. Good service and attentive staff, relaxed atmosphere.

I definitely think I will come back, maybe next time with more people so we can order more tapas. I hope they will have some seasonal tapas items or rotate some of the menu items occasionally! 4.5/5

Food is well cooked..the Spanish chicken roast is excellent , juicy and tender. Good portion. The other accompanying dishes are also delicious. Can have more dessert for choice. Wonderful service…very attentive, we felt pampered. Thank u. Highly recommended

Service was great. Ordered a half chicken paella and the mixed seafood noodle paella, with grilled sirloin strips as tapas. Chicken breast meat was a bit too dry, and the seafood noodle paella tasted a bit fishy, but other than that, all was great!

Great customer service. Came here to try the half bird. Enjoyed the chicken. The breast meat was tender and very flavourful. The paella (rice) is full of flavour, though it’s a tad on the oily said. The sardine and egg salad recommended by the staff is super fresh and refreshing. Not fishy at all. Love the good. Great job La Bird!

Food is excellent (love the truffle mash!), waiting time wasn’t long either from order to serving

Rice in the paella half chicken was slightly overcooked and dry at some parts, but chicken was moist n overall still very yummy!

    Will certainly visit again

We enjoyed the seafood noodle paella very much. Tasty and cooked just right – will come back for this.

Fried eggs with bb squid – eggs runny and done beautifully, squid soft and tasty too.

Service team were very attentive and helpful with recommendations of menu choices and to our need.

    Congratulations on your opening!
The ambiance is nice and the staff are very accommodating. The food is great, especially their chicken breast is very soft and tender but it would be much great if the rice that comes with it is way bigger portion than their usual serving. Overall, it was a satisfied dining experience.

My mum loves the chicken & seafood dishes she has tried so far (eg. Chicken chunk paella and Grilled sea bass).

(PS) The portion size for the $15 (before gst & service charge) 1 side + 1 main dish is a good option for first timers. It’s manageable (not too much).

Helpful and prompt staff, food served fast and are quite delicious. Love the chilli sauce! Goes so well with the carbs. The chicken is good, just wished the serving is a bit bigger.

Roast chicken paella is good, especially the rice but can have more rice. Truffle mash potato is also good. Roast potato with crab has a slight fishy taste.

Food is good and tasty but lacking in the smaller portion size. The set meals are worth the price

Chicken is nicely done. The paella was a little oily. Mushrooms were great. Cheesecake is not too sweet

Food taste GREAT! Gotta order the Squid Ink & Pea Fideua and pair it with their unique Agua De Valencia. Food is served by their friendly and attentive staff. For dessert, Fried Milk was delicious with mix of hot and cold. Love it!

The service by Joash was great. However, the food is seriously lacking. The crab smashed potatoes tapas (starter) was nice, but the roast bird paella and spiced sausage seaweed noodles tasted like normal fried rice and fried bee hoon. Wouldn’t go back again.

Picture perfect food that’s a bit short changed on taste. The Spanish paella is disappointing despite looking great. The chicken is really dry and the rice is also dry witch is thinly spread out. Baby squid with egg is decent.

Menu looked good on the outside so we gave it a try. Ordered starter- smashed potato with crab, main- noodle paella, and dessert- fried milk to share. All portions are slightly small, definitely manageable for small eaters but may not be filling for most.
Would prefer more detailed description of menu items. Wouldnt mind coming back to try other items on menu.

Went for lunch promo. Generally, most of the order is good. Onion rice was a bit on the salty side but the chicken was awesome w crispy skin. Squid ink w Fideua and Seabass was splendid!

Their Crab Smashed Potato is a must try… Quite authentic… Its a one person sized portion, was tempted to get another… Good service… Welcoming, calm and good for networking kind of environment… Will come again for sure.

Staff will remind that handle is hot. Good caring service. Roast bird takes a slight while but it is understandable. Those in a rush should further take note of the time you need to wait for food as they roast upon order.

Spanish omelette is nice, as is the croquette and tomato and hummus toast. Chicken wing and onion rings not as nice. Staff are friendly and prices are OK too. Ambience is good but can get crowded at times. Have been here a couple times, will keep coming back. Do note that there is no free water (you have to buy a bottle for $1.90).

Darius is very friendly and provides great customer service. Ordered the half chicken, meat is tender and not dry but the rice was quite dry. Was expecting a slightly more moist texture. Overall still acceptable.

Their signature chicken is good with crispy skin. But the paella beneath it is a bit dry, would prefer it to be a bit more moist. Tried the cold tomato soup too and like the nuts that gives the soup more flavour. Would come back to try out their other tapas.

    Comfy place with decent food.

Mushrooms were tad bit too salty for our liking. Other dishes were pretty well done (wouldnt have minded abit more rice with the chicken).

Third return visit, this time their signature Spanish roast bird was slightly undercooked on the inside… sent it back to the kitchen for a little bit more roasting

To my surprise ! They prepared a fresh Roast Bird for me and comp-ed a delicious Sardine and Egg Salad on the house

    Service is definitely 10/10

I was swiftly seated, order taken quickly, servers ( Joash and Valerie )
were extremely attentive when I flagged the earlier dish incompleteness

Keep up the great work La Bird team !
