Love the food, the drinks & the dessert at this Kopi Tiam branch. Drinks stall staff would greet familiar faces & some of them would even remember the type of hot drinks that we have been ordering each time we visit the branch. My favourite stalls are the rice stall that offers a healthier option of brown rice, western food & the small China food (spicy) stall next to the toilet that’s run by a friendly homely couple! Yummy!

The Bak Kut Teh/ Ban Mian stall is great if you’re looking for comfort soup and noodles, especially during rainy days. Take note that the same people manage both stalls.

Poor management. One of the big fan had been spoilt for months and no one repair. Should block off the air passage between the smoking area and the main seating area near the western food stall. Always smell of second hand smoke even the big fans are running. Terrible!

Tried the mee tai mak from fishball noodles, sphagetti and chicken chop from western food.

    1. Chicken chop
    My husband rating 5
    My rating 4.5

The chicken chop was one of the best I ever had. It was very tender and juicy not dry at all!! Definitely must try. Their pasta however was the secondary school standard of pasta with canned cream sauce which definitely brought back nostalgia but it was not to my liking.

    2. Mee tai mak
    My husband rating 3.5
    My rating 2

The standard for thier soup really plummeted. The soup was just boiled water but the noodles were silky smooth.

Overall, would come back for chicken chop!

Sichuan Noodles. Watch a review about the Sichuan Noodle store on YouTube saying it’s good, so I gave it a try. I had Spicy Beef Noodles.. Honestly it wasn’t as nice as its mentioned, it’s bland and oily / Noodles were soggy. Had the the chicken wanton and found that it’s lack of flavor too. The portions were generous and it’s huge. In terms of Value for money – 5 star. Flavor – 3 star.

12 Nov 2021 – takeaway during Post Circuit Breaker Phase 2 (preparatory stage) / Stabilisation Phase to COVID-19 Resilience.
    3 stars.

First time here as I came to get groceries from the NTUC supermarket here. Glad to see they have dimsum items here. I always get the char siew baos from Kopitiam if they have it. Tasty. Can use Kopitiam card for 10% off.

Also got a chicken cutlet from the Western food stall. Auntie does everything alone so can be a bit slow. The cutlet is tasty, flavour similar to Tenderfresh chicken but the meat is dry as many of the fried chicken items are pre-fried and re-fried upon order. Coleslaw, baked beans and fries weren’t fantastic. The fried bun was too sweet and had a bad margarine taste.

Basically no one to check vaccination status here. There was no one checking at the entrance and I saw five people sitting together eating and chatting at a table when only maximum 2 vaccinated persons allowed to dine-in at this time.

Popular during weekdays lunch amongst the staff of nearby SSMC factory and industrial companies, the food choices here are decent. Unique perhaps is the 兴华 stall selling 兴华 bee hoon soup, not commonly found in your other regular food courts. The 煮炒 stall here also seems popular amongst diners, long queues are common especially during weekends, and it’s currently running a crab promo, 1 crab for $35, 2 crabs for $60.

A typical Kopitiam in most major shopping mall in Singapore. Some food stalls prepare a yummier meal than other similar stalls selling the same street food. It boils down to the cook making that extra effort in preparing your bowl of food to enjoy!

Bad experience with the dessert hawker here from the mainland. The card machine at the dessert store is faulty because apparently after ordering, I placed the card on the card reader and it had resulted an error, the display screen posting the message “Error, try scan again”. The dessert hawker insisted that it was not deducted because there was no receipt discharged from the cashier box and so she rebooted the machine and told me to scan again. This time round, there was an insufficient balance reflected. It is not a big issue as it was a few bucks but the issue lies with her attitude of her insisting you to place the card on the scanner first before keying the price in. I mean what if she had deducted more than what was stated?

Regardless, she only claimed that she had deducted once. There’s nothing she can do anyway. What a luck!
