My compliment to the lady behind the counter of Zheng Hua Yong Tau Foo ( stall no:10). I was happy to see her efficiently prepare my order, however most importantly I was privileged to see the caring side of her. A customer with walking difficulty came by. She despite being busy called out to him to take a seat and said she will prepare his regular YTF dish in a moment.
My Chance observation left me with a good impression of her. Thank you for that wonderful experience of knowing that, there is an efficient, polite, caring lady working behind the counter.

This Kopitiam is generally average but I still like the kway chap, poh piah and both coffee and tea. The kway chap “lor” is not as thick and sweet like at some other places so there is less guilt eating what is regarded as not that wholesome. The poh piah is good. Not cheap, but the poh piah skin is not too dry and the filling is enough providing a wholesome balance to the meal. The coffee has always been well brewed! So is the tea.

Coffee prices have increased 50%!! Used to be $1.00 now it’s $1.50 for black coffee hot. And this is not that Kampong by Kopitiam is in the expensive city centre location – this is Bukit Panjang!! Unbelievable, using this covid time to profit from customers

Located at Bukit Panjang Plaza. This kopitiam has limited tables and it is not easy to get a table during peak hours. Prices are moderately low and your get 10% off with the blue kopitiam card. I would recommend the stall specializing in curry and the stall selling herbal soup.

Korean food stall is popular and the kimchi soup is good. You often have to queue up for it.
I have encountered two service staff manning the cashier counter (one on each occasion); the younger plump lady gives really friendly service but the older plump lady with long dyed hair is unfriendly and a little unhygienic. i ordered take away and I saw how she prepared the rice, there were a few grains of rice on her bare thumb and she scraped it on the edge of the container before closing and giving me. I had to stop her and explained to her, then she got me the next box which was pre-prepared.

I guess if my mum did this at home while cooking I wouldn’t mind.. but this lady deals with cash and food at the same time.. sorry to the next person eating that box of takeaway rice.

Good fish soup, nice hot dessert and popiah! Well-staffed with young, efficient plates-clearing crew for the lazy Singaporeans!

We learnt to clear our plates in school canteens as students, why don’t we bring this graciousness to public places like food courts?

Need to do away with this pseudo altruistic mindset that we are creating jobs for the elderly cleaning crew. At times, they really could do with some help ️

Great place to eat, with many choices of food. After someone has left their table without clearing their plates and trays, the cleaners are efficient and quick to respond. They cleaned the table within 20 seconds and left rapidly. Even during COVID-19 periods, it is still quite crowded. Still a good place to eat, and would recommend for all ages.
