yummy filling food. this place is difficult to find, walked around the same area 3 times and could not find signs or posters to guide the way. It basically is the only temple-looking like front that looks like a chinese temple/museum. Walk inwards further and you will see the hotel reception desk

The sashimi was nice and fresh and eel porridge and fried rice was quite delicious. The massive let down was the service. The waiting time for our food was long (it wasn’t even that busy or full), it was very difficult to get the wait staff’s attention and they got our order wrong more than once. Even when we did get their attention, they needed to be reminded after we had asked for a tea refill or for other items that we needed to go get them ourselves. A shame because the food was quite good.

Got to know of this place through eatigo (which gave us a 40% discount on the menu items).

Ambience: The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated. The tableware was tastefully chosen, couldn’t help but admire them haha.
Food: My dinner party and myself all had something off the chirashi menu and we were all very pleased with our respective picks. The fish was fresh, the portions were just right, and the presentation beautifully done
Service: It was decent but could be improved. We got there when the diner turnover was high and so the waiters were busy, but I felt the service was good enough.
Price: Bit on the pricey side, might not have considered this place if not for the discount gotten through eatigo. That being said, the quality of food is impressive and if you don’t mind spending a little bit more, this is pretty worth the money.

Definitely worth a try/repeat visit if you get the 40% discount as I did!

Family had dinner here one weekend evening. Service was okay, and the food was fresh. We especially liked the various salmon dishes. The unagi was okay, if a tad pricey.

Was in the area and opened eatigo. Saw jin fine dining on the promo with 40% off and read good reviews about it online. Quickly booked a slot on eatigo and head down.

Location wise… it’s located in amoy hotel. From the outside it looked like a Chinese temple, but once your step in… surprise surprise. It’s a nice looking hotel and Jin fine dining was right smack beside it.

Ordered the premium chirashi $48 while the gf ordered a jin chirashi $35.

Service was prompt and good arrived within minutes.

At first look, you might not be able to tell the difference between the two. Both comes with generous serving of ikura and a chunk of uni. The uni is soooooo creamy and it just melts in your mouth.

What makes the premium more expensive, I think, would be the two thick slices of fatty tuna belly and salmon belly. The tuna belly was the second best (after the uni, of course) thing that happened to my tastebuds all night. They also include snapper and amberjack, though not really a great fan of it.

The JIN chirashi Don, comes with sashimi that we are more familiar with. Scallops, salmon, tuna. I particularly love the white tuna or what some people called butterfish. It’s not commonly seen in restaurants in singapore. The smooth velvety texture and creamy taste really shows how fresh their ingredient is.

I feel that if you are going for value-for-money, the JIN chirashi would be a better option. If you’re craving for some premium cuts, as well as some fatty tuna, you can give the premium chirashi a go. After all, if you made a reservation through eatigo, and with 40% discount, the premium chirashi is also great value for money.

Didn’t try other ala carte items in the menu, and I glad we didn’t. The two don was more than enough for the both of us. Wouldn’t wanna waste food of such good quality right….

    Cheers!

We managed to get a table on a Friday night without reservations, though we would recommend making a reservation and a bowl of Chirashi don!

    Food: 4.5/5
    Location/atmosphere: 4/5
    Service: 5/5
    Price: 4/5

    Food was delicious.

We ordered the premium chirashi. Certainly not disappointed by the ample cuts of sashimi. We found the bed of “vinegar rice” was mixed through with pieces of salmon and seasoning. It was a pleasant surprise when we discovered how moist it was compared to other similarly prepared rice items ealewhere.

The oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl) was yummy and comforting. Served with a good amount of chicken, egg, onions, finely cut nori (seaweed) and spring onions (and mushrooms!), I found it satisfying and easy to eat. Definitely met expectations. Just wish the pickles served on the side were a little more substantial.

The unagi-maki presented a nice portion of eel (I enjoy unagi!) to accompany the meal. Every bite was a good mix of eel, rice, tamago (egg) and cucumber. I don’t normally order maki items, but this has made me curious how good their other maki offerings are.

We also tried the buta-cheese-age which was a side described as deep-fried pork belly and cheese balls. They were about 4 (or 5?) medium fishball-sized pieces served with salad and tonkotsu sauce(?). It was nice, but it felt a little too rich even with the slice lemon we squeezed over.

We finished with a small desert of goma (black sesame) ice cream with azuki topping (red bean – additional $1). This was the best ending to the meal I could have hoped for. The ice cream was smooth, intense, yet light on the palette. The red bean topping however immediately became the star of show. It was a delectably sweet paste, with soft pieces of red beans generously mixed through. Even my dinner partner who dislikes red beans enjoyed this immensely. I highly recommend you try their red bean topping!!

    Other things to note:

The location is tucked around a corner so it was a challenge thro find initially. If you’re visiting, look out for their white back-lit *JIN* signboard just around the bend from Starbucks.

The restaurant was a cooling, cozy, and peaceful place to dine in.

The staff were ever attentive and wore smiles all through our visit.

The wasabi served was of an interesting texture and taste. It had a hint of fibre a didn’t overpower the food like at other establishments. I wonder if this is the authentic condiment ground from the root (as compared to the widely consumed mustard-like types found elsewhere).

The items may get a little heavy on the wallet. However Jin Fine Dining has promotional discounts on Eatigo if you are able to make a reservation.

Overall it was as wonderful experience here. I will *definitely recommend* this find. Looking forward to my next visit!

This restaurant is located within the Amoy Hotel. We had dinner here on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was pretty full. As we had made a reservation before hand, we were quickly shown to our table.

Most of the items on the menu looked delicious and the prices for some items are on the higher side. The service crew were polite and highly efficient in taking our orders, serving our food and refilling our drinks.

We ordered the premium Chirashi, Jin Chirashi, Aburi Chirashi, Cod Fish in clear soup Nabemono, soft shell crab tempura and the grilled squid. All dishes tasted great and fresh with the exception of thecod fish Nabemono – the flavor of the soup can be improved as it was pretty tasteless.

Located in Amoy Hotel (yes you’ll have to walk through the entrance towards Amoy Hotel)

Food quality: very fresh and served at slightly chilled / almost room temperature raw fish
    * Didn’t try but would be interested to:
    – Omakase set
    – Dobinmushi (steamed seafood in clear soup in tea pot)
    – Kisetsu Sakana Sakamushi (seasonal fish simmered with sake)
    – Grilled unagi
    – Grilled squid

Food portion / Price: much more pricey, can be 1.5-2x another less atas Japanese restaurant, portions are good though

Service: expect some delays due to crowd

Crowd: fully packed even on weekday lunch, MUST book a table in advance

This place was located inside the Amoy Hotel & the entrance was a bit hard to find at first because it didn’t look like an entrance.

The place is not really fine dining, it’s just a normal restaurant with more dark interior on it.

The young lady staff was always rushing here and there even when serving food or passing cutleries for us looked very kancheong. I don’t know either this place need more staff or the lady need some training (again).

The sushi, sashimi, chirashi were fresh and nice although a bit pricey but tasted good but the beef steak and ohmi; the portion was small & tasted was just so so.

It’s a good Japanese restaurant for visiting once in a while for celebration, not as a daily meal kind of food and other places may offer better experience. Last time we ordered alot but still felt hungry after arriving home though.

Ordered a take away (delivery) of their butadon set as it was a thumbs-up recommendation from colleagues. The meal comprised the main rice bowl with pork belly sliced and well marinated, grilled and glazed and tasted good. An onsen egg was placed in the centre. There was a small pack salad inclusive of small container of dressing, a steam egg in a cup and 2 sliced of cut fruits. Everything reminds me of a meal on a tray which i get from flight (its going to be quite a while more before I can travel given c19 situation). It was an OK meal at my desk due to safe distancing measures at the work place which reduced the seating capacity in the common eating area. Overall I liked the butadon. Hope to visit the place snd dine in one day to try other items in future.

Visited second time in Mar 2021 and had the butadon for lunch on site. Very nice. Oishi.

This place is hard to find but the interior looks nice ! The soft shell crab and chirashi don are really nice and fresh. Ordered the aburi version as I rarely come across this style of chirashi. 1st time here. To be honest, this is no fine dining experience but the food is definitely of fine quality with beautiful plating … the restaurant is quite casual & we had a wonderful Japanese Omakase dinner.
food – fresh, good quality food
deal – decent prices. The Omakase menu deal is definitely great value for money
experience – the owner-chef is nice & friendly. He is clearly very knowledgeable & had loads of experience on Japanese cuisines. He even took the time & effort to share some insights on the dishes he served.

They also have some great sake promo.
The service is pretty basic – the staffs are friendly & attentive but not fine dining standard.

So if you want a good Japanese omakase at a great deal, would highly recommend this place.
    I will definitely be back!

Highly recommended for groups of 6 or less looking for fresh Japanese sashimi, and chirashi combined with a private setting, and good service. Also, the privacy establishes this venue as a great option for dates.

My recommendations: Jin Chirashi Bowl, Sanmi Chirashi Bowl, and Scallop Croquette

Note: Last visited in Dec-2019 on a weekend.

Had the classic omakase here – absolutely delicious. Dishes were spectacular and beautifully executed; ideas were very creative as well (such as the seafood soup served in the teapot). The most memorable dish I had was the swordfish, although I thought the salad could do with more dressing. The sashimi served was top-notch, very fresh. Chutoro and scallop just melted in my mouth. Staff were very friendly and explained the dishes as well. Overall, a fantastic experience, thank you.

Came here for the eatigo 40% discount which made this meal really value for money! The sashimi was thick in slices and extremely fresh. I ordered the iro iro chirashi bowl and another jin chirashi and both were really tasty. One of the best and freshest chirashi bowls I have had so far and portions were generous too! Lots of fish roe and flavourful rice

    Delicious & fresh Japanese food!
Sashimi don could easily have went with plain white rice – nonetheless, sashimi is fresh and tasted great!
One of the best tempura i’ve had too!

Feedback: location is little hard to locate – the signage at your non-hotel-side entrance can be improved, i.e. with a standee or something.

Not ‘fine dining’ at all but they sure charge fine dining prices. Green tea alone was $5 a glass. Food was nice but not for what you pay and expect. One could easily get better food at this price elsewhere.

The atmosphere was also cheap. Not sure where they got more than 4 stars from..

Good chirashi bowl. Been there a few times. The chirashi is good. They have different types of chirashi. The main dining area is interesting with high ceiling and loft like atmosphere. Note: Google location not quite correct. You have to walk into Amoy Hotel. Its in Amoy Hotel Lobby. Also its not fine dining but still it a good Japanese restaurant for chirashi.

All dishes tasted great and fresh with the exception of thecod fish Nabemono – the flavor of the soup can be improved as it was pretty tasteless.

food is pretty good, have been visiting every once in a while. however , yesterday evening , there was a mouse/rat in the restaurant. on the black counter near the gold fish painting there was what I assume is a fridge , and on top of it was a small little rodent. couldn’t identify what exactly but it had a tail . pointed it out to staff but not sure if they saw as it jumped onto the floor and ran away. have been visiting for years and this was a first. hope the issue is resolved soon.

Been to this restaurant for 3 times. Today while eating my salmon sashimi, suddenly feel something sharp inside my mouth. Found fish bone inside my salmon sashimi. Very disappointed. Although they give us a free muah chee as a compensation but fish bone inside sashimi can be dangerous. Please be more careful when preparing the food. Thanks

Do order the pitan tofu, dragon roll, tempura moriwase in addition to the sashimi. The ikura chawanmushi is so good as well.
