Not crowded for the many times I’ve gone there for my vehicle inspections. The staff is helpful and the inspection usually doesn’t take more than 15-20 mins if there is no queue. Only shortfall is that the waiting area is open and can get quite warm in the afternoons.
Waiting time is longer only one lane. Also overall process seems fast they should have seperate lanes by timeslot for taxis and private buses.

LTA 2y inspection for PMD / escooter available here, appt booking / change of appt was easy via Vicom online (JIC under vicom, AMK location). Centre right next to bus stop (SBST Ang Mo Kio Depot), with bus 70 dropoff (Yio Chu Kang bus interchange), with direct access from bus stop – see 1st 2 pics (but google map not showing the access). Area is not PCN (nearest is 2km away via AMK Ave 5).
830 appt went without hiccups (was there 5mins earlier). Go to guardhouse and state intention (PMD inspection), and follow the green foot path towards the container unit (the only air con room there). Again, state intention and prepare to make payment ($28 + GST, cash / nets ok), though you would have to park the PMD at the inspection spot first (on your left, next to motorcycle area – see 3rd pic). Get ready to state your PMD number (should suffice if appt is in place) or show the LTA inspection letter notice (via onemotoring), or appt email (from vicom).
Inspection took around 25mins (certified battery, wheels, speed etc), under sheltered area (no air con, but can be quite windy in morning). If pass, you will be issued a paper cert (somehow e-copy not avail).
Throughout my journey at JIC, i wasn’t met with any rudeness or poor tone that other reviews have mentioned. The people i interacted with (guard, cashier, inspection officer etc) were all cordial and friendly. I guess if you expect a 9am appt to start on time here (ever been to the polyclinic nowadays?), then think its personal expectations that have to change if you are coming here.
One of the inspection officer even asked if my inspection was ok, just as i was leaving.
Feels like kampung vibes here, just don’t come with usual city expectations.
Although i admit, the centre could do with better guides / signs (saw a vehicle queuing at empty line, she had to self discover the error – fyi, inspection queue for cars is opposite side of container, vs PMD one).

The process of registration & inspection of car is systematic and smooth. Admin staff and car inspectors are friendly and helpful. Road tax can be renewed at the same place after passing the inspection. Free parking in JTC & restrooms are available there. The whole inspection process including administration took only 25 minutes.

These guys used to be cool for bike inspection, but my most recent visit the guy was a stickler. Despite having all original parts he took issue with the length of my brake lever, the fact that passenger pegs were removed and the distance between digits on my rear plate. This bike is 6 years old and those issues have never been raised before. They are rarely crowded here which makes the process fast.

I really like to visit jic inspection centre. This jic and the one in tuas. Near my home and workplace. No crazy jam and long waiting time, and the inspector I encounter is really polite

JIC inspection is always my first choice when time for inspection. I always choose non-peak hours. So no waiting time, usually in 30 mins all done. No complsont at all. Just one one small suggestion about payment method. Currently only cash, NETS are accepted. Why not consider mobile payments like PayLah etc?. Honestly nowadays I don’t carry much cash with me.

The best thing about this inspection centre is that there are very few customers (as you can see from my photo). Although I saw a signage saying 30 min wait for cars but there was no other cars and I was serviced as soon as I stopped my car. It is the fastest and most efficient inspection centre I have been to.
Updated in June 2022: I went there again this week after five years. At 9:40am, there were four vehicles in front of me. The inspection was fast and pleasant.

Quick and efficient service. It was surprisingly quiet, even though we were there on a Saturday morning. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially as the car failed the first inspection and we had to go back an hour later for the second inspection once the issue was fixed. We didn’t need to wait more than 5 minutes for the repeat inspection and for the certificate to be issued.
a bit slow action..
Been here for at least 10 years cos it’s usually not crowded and quite fast. Always met with courteous uncles who knew their job well. This last visit was not pleasant. Rude inspector loudly commanded me to “get back into the car!” as he needed assistance with checking the hazard & reverse lights. When asked why the folding seats needed to be deployed for inspection, he shot back, “Those are the procedures!” ie. he didn’t know.

Visited here for my car inspection as I thought this place is out of the way and in North part of Singapore. But there was only 2 technicians on duty. They moved fast but it’s not their fault that there were so many cars in the queue for inspection.
Payment was done via eKiosk, with the aunty at counter insisting that the boss said no over counter payments. The guy in front of me had his cash money stuck in the machine and I was held up for 10 mins.
Overall, came here expecting a 10 min job but end up spending 1 hour.

Visited JIC for eScooter inspection around 10:30 on a Monday and relatively less or no queue. The staff are professional, courteous and polite. Once the job is done, they provided the report and explained to me what’s the result and what has to be done. The staff(Mr. Thevindran, i think) heard my questions patiently and answered all my questions clearly. Everything completed in 30mins. I had a great experience.

I came to JIC AMK subsequently on 10 Dec 2019 for some wiring issues with my car’s new IU and was attended by him. He displayed good enthusiasm to help solve the wiring problem.

not a tourist’s attraction for sure. so how in heck this can earn 4 stars from me? i’m reviewing on a saturday morning, not sure about other days. there is virtually no queue, inspection is done almost as soon as you arrived there. make payment at the office counter located right beside where you park. now there is a DIY payment kiosk inside the office, i haven’t tried that though since the cashier offers to entertain me. after payment, wait for inspection to conclude, collect chits, drive away. couldn’t be simpler. except maybe.. an option to pay online first before going there. that would be a great option.
